I usually go to the one in Cupertino because it's within walking distance for me. Decided to check out the Sunnyvale location with a friend as we were participating in the Cityline Fit Club events and they gave us 50% off a bowl. Parking was fairly easy in the Orange Lot. We arrived a few minutes after opening so not much of a crowd. We were seated right away. We were sat in the brightly lit dining room on the side. We each ordered the large West Coast Style Grilled Salmon. I wound up eating half of it and taking the rest to go. Really delicious! I love the chimmichurri sauce they put on the salmon. We came here for a mini homecoming for a kid who had spent about 3 months in a place with basically no good seafood options. Pacific Catch at its various locations has been fairly reliable. This evening, there was a significant change and a couple minor shortcomings that made this a less enjoyable than in past visits. The restaurant wasn't very crowded for a Saturday evening. We were seated quickly and then considered our options. One big change from before is that you're now limited in how your grilled fish is prepared. Previously, you chose a type of fish and then a style, such as passionfruit glaze, pineapple salsa, green curry, etc. Now, the fish is all prepared the same way - sea salt, lemon, chimichurri. So even if everyone gets a different fish (like we did), it's all prepared the same way. Disappointing. We started with some calamari, like we always do. It was prepared well but it was obvious that the dish had been hit by shrinkflation. If there had been more than three of us it wouldn't have been enough to satisfy us all. For our grilled fish, we got the Kona kanpachi, Barramundi sea bass, and Verlasso salmon. All were good, but my kanpachi was a little overcooked and on the dry side. For the sides, we enjoyed the Mexican corn, Brussels sprouts, and kimchi fried rice but the asparagus was overcooked and a little mushy. Service was just okay. Our server barely looked over during the meal so it was hard to get her attention when our water bottle was empty. Prices were higher than we have been used to. The total for 3 diners with one shared appetizer and no drinks was nearly $160, with a 20% and mandatory 3% surcharge added. read more

I am on a mission to try EVERY Pacific Catch in the Bay Area. My mother-in-law and I love their ceviches and bowls. We walked in and were seated immediately. I never understand why their locations are never full. The food is so good that these places should always be packed! The restaurant was clean, fresh, and welcoming. Our server greeted us right away, brought us water, and we let her know ahead of time that my MIL had a birthday coupon for a free bowl. I absolutely love their rewards program--it's totally worth signing up for. We started with the ceviche. It was good, but I've had even better at the Pacific Catch in Santa Clara. I ordered the Mexican Bowl, which came with shrimp, rice, black beans, salad, guacamole, and chips. Everything was well seasoned, and I would definitely order it again. My MIL ordered the Taco Trio. She got one of each taco, but our favorite was definitely the steak taco. Whatever sauce they put on it was AMAZING! Lastly, I ordered a side of their seaweed salad. It was $6, but totally worth it. I love getting a drop-off at SFO ride, typically not an early departure. This one timed out so I may time it right for an early dinner with my daughter in Sunnyvale. Sure enough we met at the PC off Mathilda in Sunnyvale. This neighborhood sure has grown. Kal's BBQ was still there, my food service account about 20 years ago. I found the PC and parked in the multi level garage just behind the restaurant. Still an early dinner time at 5:15ish, I sat at the to wait and pursue the menu. Now I've eaten several times at the Mountain View location and enjoyed it very much. This spot, well seemed kind cold, empty and I was not approached in the 10 or so minutes I sat at the bar...menu's changed. Smaller or fewer offerings, ok keep focused on what you do well, cut some costs works for me. The kids showed up, still nobody So I grabbed three menus and sat us along the wall at a four top. The server came right over once we sat and we were good. Beverages were ordered and I had decided on the Seafood and chips with cole slaw and a dinner salad. A ordered two sushi roll plates. Aa ordered something but I don't remember. The food was out in good time, I was disappointed that my salad hadn't arrived before my entree....oh well. The salad had the house dressing, I typically ask for the dressing that is house made, I couldn't hear/understand what dressing she said. Anyway the salad was good, I liked the edamame beans as a topping garnish. The Seafood fish, calamari and coconut shrimp and spicy fries, good Looking further it appeared that the cooking time in the fryer was, well inconsistent. The Coconut shrimp cooked to almost burned which made the shrimp dry, spicy fries just a notch below burned but good. The two battered cod pieces, I'm not sure as the battered crust was not too sturdy and fell off the fish. Then the calamari seemed to be cooked just right, a bit on the lighter side. I still ate it all. I didn't eat the cole slaw, it looked as if it was from a few days ago, dry tasteless. As our table was cleared plate by plate I saw Aa hadn't touched his black beans. Now black beans are a favorite of mind, these were tasteless. Aa looked at me as I finished my bite of his beans and said "I didn't like them either". The vibe was not there as it is in MV, my own sense of things. If I didn't know the franchise I wouldn't return to this location, there's plenty of other places to get an excellent meal. We only come here out of convenience when we don't want to drive anywhere since we live across the street. We were the only pair seated at a tiny table for two while there were several larger tables available and all other pairs were seated at those. Our server was Michelle. We ordered our food, which came on 4 large plates which left us with zero room to eat on the table. We had to take it upon ourselves to combine ours with the next small table. She also named things so fast that we didn't realize she gave us an extra item we didn't order. They also charged us for it. Michelle might have been assigned to too many tables. The clams itself had a good flavor and the sauce that is in, but there really wasn't much to it. I've known Pacific Catch for as long as I can remember, so we were happy when they opened in the newly renovated Sunnyvale downtown area. We've been here a couple of times and both visits were consistent with what we expected. Good ambience, good service, and good food. The ingredients tasted fresh and the service was prompt. If you are looking for more authentic flavors and less Americanized food, there are plenty of other solid options, but it's convenient to have Mexican, Asian, and other flavors under one roof. On our recent visit, we tried the Firecracker Salmon sushi, the Mexican bowl with shrimp, and a Modelo Negra to go with it. The flavors were mild, but the meal was enjoyable overall. Came here with my mom on a saturday lunch hour. I ordered fish and chips, my mom ordered their tacos. Super delicious. Our server was super nice and welcoming. The Fish and chips were perfect. The batter was deep-fried very well. The fish is also moist. My mom likes their tacos and had the spicy sauce put on the side instead of the tacos. My hubby and I absolutely love to eat at Pacific catch and have tried many of her different branches and loved them all! If you like seafood and delicious/healthy sides this is a good spot for you. For food we tried the macadamian crusted salmon with tahini sauce with a side of the kimchi fried rice and sesame green beans. This was absolutely delicious and I really loved the sauce on the salmon. The kimchi fried rice and beans/brussel sprout veggies are always a hit so I would recommend those if you can. The mashed potatoes here are also delicious. We also tried the sticky ribs which was an appetizer which was not bad. I did not LOVE the sauce, but it was worth trying. "Been coming back for the Lobster Roll..." Pacific Catch has always been a reliable go-to restaurant for me for seafood choices. If I want raw, they have the poke, ceviche, rolls, and others. If I want cooked, they have the fried or baked fish plates. Recently just discovered their new Lobster Roll plate, and even though it's one of their pricey plates, it tastes good, that's why I still get them. Their Happy Hour menu is pretty good. They have so may choices and their $9 Margarita tastes good. Service is decent. Food came out at a good pace. The staff were friendly and attentive. The place is also nice and cozy. This is a great place to have a quiet lunch with friends. Not crowded like some other places. Staffs were super friendly and hospitable. We had the typical salad bowls. They came with fresh ingredients and large quantities( just order the regular). The wasabi bowl could use a little less vinaigrette and ginger. I wouldn't mind replacing them w/ seaweeds. The location in Sunnyvale is well lit, new looking and very very clean. I love that the bar is right in the middle and has tables on both sides of the bar. We sat at the bar and ordered two drinks. The mai tai and the agave margarita both on happy hour. They were both great drinks and definitely on the boozy side in a good way :). We then ordered the poke and ceviche platter. Two pokes and one ceviche for only $25. It came with wonton chips, tortilla chips, lettuce, cucumber and radish. The pokes were both fantastic and my partner loved the ceviche. This location is the one that started my obsession with Pacific Catch. Stopped in recently during the early lunch hour to have a meal with my boyfriend and I was not disappointed. I LOVE seafood and especially during the Lenten season, it's often difficult to find quality fish in a variety of appetizing preparations. However, this does not seem to be an issue for Pacific Catch. They have so many different TYPES of fish and each one is equally and deliciously prepared. I also cannot neglect to mention the fact that when it comes to beverages, I am over the moon in love with their house made Thai Tea. It's delightfully full-bodied and sweet and easy to tone down with ice if that's your jam. Overall, I could drink a gallon of this stuff without trying very hard. On another note, I highly recommend the coconut shrimp for an appetizer if you are arriving hungry. They are plump, juicy and delicately laced with crispy toasted coconut...you simply can't go wrong. I recently came to this location on a Monday evening for happy hour. I had been to the Santa Clara location before and really never went back bc of the service. This experience was so much better than that. We sat at the bar and the bar tender was super friendly and served drinks fast. I'm actually not too sure how to spell her name so I'm auto texting it. But she was a maybe college aged lady with a beautiful outgoing perky personality, very friendly and knowledgeable! A lot of servers just seem to have their job and go home, but she actually seemed like she wanted to get to know us! I love the authentic experience she gave us telling us about her knowledge of the food and pairings! If you go to this Pacific Catch, definitely asked to be seated in her section!! I was a bit sad about their menu change and cut down but I know prices are crazy for everything right now. Sadly, my old trio platter is gone so I just got fish and chips. They still have the spicy garlic, chipotle aïoli sauce I love, so I was happy with that. My mom got a Japanese bowl with grilled salmon, and my dad got a steak of some sorts. This is long overdue. Since moving to the downtown Sunnyvale area a year and a half ago, I've been coming to PC at least 2-3 times a week. Their bartender, Brandon, has always greeted and made me feel welcomed every time I stop by the bar. Their miso soup and tacos are really delicious and worth skipping work for. We always have an exceptional experience when dining at Pacific Catch in Sunnyvale. We typically sit at the bar during happy hour, where Joseph and Brandon provide outstanding service. They are always attentive and make sure we're well taken care of. The restaurant's open, airy design and beach-themed decor perfectly complement the menu. We began our meal with the fried calamari, which was delightfully crispy. The addition of fried lemon and red chili peppers was a pleasant surprise--we were initially skeptical about the lemons, but they were delicious. The chipotle aioli served as a wonderful dipping sauce for the calamari. Next, we tried the Pupu Platter. This platter included four coconut shrimp, sticky ribs, spicy salmon sushi tacos, guaca-poke, tortilla chips, and spicy cucumber banchan. We thoroughly enjoyed everything except the spicy salmon sushi tacos, which lacked spice and overall flavor. Nonetheless, the rest of the platter was excellent.
