Exceptional tacos! Served from a taco truck parked at a gas station, I had passed by this place numerous times. I was on the hunt for some bomb al pastor tacos, and I think I found them. The tacos came out piping hot. I got mine to go, and 30 minutes later they were still warm. The al pastor was incredibly flavorful, with bits of pineapple throughout. I would have liked a little more pineapple, but the pieces that were there added a nice pop of sweetness. The carne asada had a nice crisp to it. Both tacos were loaded with fresh onion and cilantro, and they definitely didn't skimp on the meat. I usually remove the second tortilla to save a few calories, but these were good enough that I ate them as they came. There was so much filling that I ended up needing a fork to finish the leftovers. Our order also came with radishes, grilled onions, peppers, and lime, along with both green and red sauces. The green sauce was especially good and paired well with both tacos. At $5 each, I initially thought the tacos were a little expensive, but the quality, portion size, and flavor made them worth it. Not a lot of places are open past 10pm in Sunnyvale but Sonora Taqueria is open until 11pm. Usually taco trucks can be hit or miss especially with their birria tacos but Sonora has got it down. They probably have the best quesabirria tacos in the Sunnyvale area. They definitely get busy around the lunch time but the late night hours are probably where it's at. Food does take a bit cause it's made to order but definitely worth it. Located in a small neighborhood inside of a gas station parking lot with some tables so you can eat out in front of the truck. They ran out of shrimp the day I was there, and I was torn deciding between the chile relleno burrito and a quesadilla. But the burrito was a big letdown, barely any meat inside and no consome included (they charge extra). For $12+, it felt weak. Also, if you order two burritos, they only give you one green sauce and two reds... why not at least match it so each person gets both sauces? First time eating a chile relleno burrito This one was delicioso! Will definitely get it again. Asada super burrito was ALMOST perfect. It wasn't dry. The ratio of fillings was just right. I didn't feel like I had a mouth full of rice and beans. What made it shy of perfect was the greasiness from whatever the meat was cooked or heated up in. A quality taco truck that's open late and has affordable pricing. It shares a parking lot with the 76 gas station, and there's a nice outdoor seating area with tables and umbrellas. You order at the window and they serve food pretty quickly, and it's about as nice a vibe as you can get right outside a 101 highway ramp (bring generous, it's pretty noisy). Tacos are great, and these were no exception: decent meat selection (no tripa, cabeza, or lengua when I was there), and the al pastor and chorizo tacos were tasty. It would arrive in 10-15 minutes. Waited additional 15 minutes for burritos. Their drinks are delicious - they always have horchata but also two or three agua frescas to pick from. I like the watermelon a lot. I've also had the quesadilla, burrito, and street tacos. I have nothing bad to say about the food or service!! They are always located in this gas station parking lot so they can refill the propane anytime. There's lots of parking and they have tables for sitting and eating at. A busy night has maybe a 15 minute wait for food.
