My experience was not your average occasion. I was looking for a place to cater some churros for a taco party and luckily I found that Corazon had a variety of churro flavors to choose from! I ordered online on their website for pickup on a Wednesday evening. We ordered the chocolate, strawberry, and bavarian cream churros. Each order came with 4 pieces. The churros weren't the typical ones I am familiar with, where from my experience there are usually served with dipping sauces, but I actually liked the filling, which made for a less messy dessert. They were quite tasty and very FRESH and CRUNCHY. Our favorites were the bavarian cream and chocolate flavors. Unfortunately, we found that a few of the bavarian cream churros did not have any filling in them. It looks like they may have forgotten to fill a few of them, but even without filling, they tasted pretty good. I think I would be open to checking out their full menu on a different occasion. There is plenty of seating available and the decor makes you feel like you are at the right place!

The reviews for this place were good, so we gave it a try. It's a nice place to sit down for dinner, but we came close to closing and grabbed food to go. I'm not sure if it was the time we showed up, but the quality of meat (Carne Asada) was subpar - you can't mess up Carne Asada! Unfortunately, there were fatty/chewy to non edible pieces of meat. The rice and beans in the burrito tasted OK but also seemed like filler. The proportions of meat, rice, beans were off. You may see in my photo - Limited pieces of meat on the left side of the burrito and the rest was filled with rice and beans. It was a super burrito but the crema seemed non-existent as it was soaked up in the rice/beans. If it wasn't for some of their salsa verde to pour onto the burrito, it would have been really dry. It seems long were the days where chips automatically came with your meal. Although there are still some establishments that continue to give a small bag of complimentary tortilla chips. So, we asked. Given it was near closing and the chips may go to waste, it felt like a missed opportunity to offer a small gesture of hospitality. Something simple like that can make a big difference in how guests feel welcomed. Unfortunately, there wasn't alot of meat to begin with but on top of that, some pieces were not even edible. Hence the low rating.

Sleepy little resturant that was definitely a surprise. Their menu is full of surprises. As you walk in the decor was homie and full of Mexican flare. The staff was amazing very helpful answering all our menu questions. We ordered several items to try out the menu. We started with the chips and salsas. The salsa were all flavorful, the chips were crispy but lacked taste. You have to ask for the habanero salsa, not typically handed out. We moved on to the main dishes. The 3 tacos platter allowed us to try multiple meat options, including Chicken Oaxaca, Carnitas, and Pork Pibil. Our favorite was the flavorful Chicken Oaxaca, then Carnitas, and lastely the Pork Pibil (Not much taste on this one). The tortillas were grilled with a nice char. The rice and beans were all good and had nice taste and texture. The tamal rojo was done prefectly and had a good taste. The enchilada was just okay, wouldn't order that again. Finally, the chili Relleno was super cheesy and my father really enjoyed that dish. Overall, the food was amazing but could've have been a bit warmer from the kitchen. We will be back!

My gauge for a good Mexican restaurant is their salsas. The ones here didn't skimp on their chilli usage and I was a happy customer. Yelp check in gets a free basket of chips with two salsas. We tried- **Chicken tacos-4/5-delicious chicken and toppings but the amount of fat visible between the two tacos was insane. **Mole poblano-4/5- I was excited for this one as the description on the menu was very enticing. 30 ingredients in a made from scratch complex sauce with chocolate and dry and roasted chillies. The versions I tried before were always sweet and I am not particularly fond of sweetness in my savory dishes. Unfortunately the version here was sweet as well but the mole was a lot smoother and more palatable than other places. **Quesadilla-4/5-kids got this and reported it was decent. **Burrito-3/5- average burrito, missed some heat. Salsas came to rescue here. Ambiance is colorful. The complex is not crowded and hence we were able to enjoy our meal outdoors.

Yelp check-in = Complimentary chips and salsa, $1.75 value, even for my to-go order. Quality/Quantity - Got the following tacos today: Chicken Oaxaca - She told me that this will have a kick, but I did not taste any heat at all. Carnitas - My favorite of the three and this had the most flavors. Grill Chicken - This had the least amount of flavor, but probably the healthiest. All three tacos have the same sauce and toppings. Overall, I felt they had a good simple menu. See the two pictures. They have specials also. See pictures or website. Atmosphere - Decent size restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. Bright and nice decor. Table or counter table seating. I believe they offer counter-service. I ordered to-go at the counter. Self-service water. Plenty of mall parking. Open 7 days a week 11am to 8:30pm or midnight. Service - Okay, counter service. Price - $3.50 for each of the tacos I ordered, totalling $11.46. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success for 5+ years.

This little Mexican restaurant is hidden in a sleepy shopping center at the corner of Mary & Fremont. It's in the same shopping center as Smart & Final and Starbucks. Easy parking, it's always plentiful. I've been coming here for years even though it's a bit of a drive when there are closer options. The lady at the counter is always friendly and nice. There are several tables inside, a mix of high and low tables. Restrooms are in the back. I'm always surprised how empty they are, even around noon on a Friday. You won't have any trouble getting a table. I've only stopped by for lunch, so maybe they get more crowded in the evenings. Their Super Burrito is my usual go to. They have all the usual stuff you'll find at a taqueria : tacos, burritos, enchiladas. They also have other specialties such as Chicken Mole, Pork Pibil, Pork Pipian, Oaxaca, Chile En Nogada, Carne Asada. And some seafood dishes such as Pescados a La Veracruzana, Camarones a la Veracruzana, Camarones Chipotle, and Camarones a la Diabla. Kids menu available, too!

Visited Corazon for a late lunch on a week day. They have some very authentic Mexican options on the menu, not just your run of the mill Americanized Mexican food. It was very good, I would definitely return again!

You definitely stole my heart A weekly spot of ours being super convenient and close to home but packed with amazing flavor that keeps us coming back. If you dine in for lunch, they have a quaint little outdoor area. Lots of parking, located in Sunnyvale - Mary & Fremont shopping center.

Heart From Scratch Unassuming local family-run eatery that's been in operation since 2019 and features a bevy of Mexican eats. We had a hankering for some Mexican food after a long hike at nearby Rancho San Antonio, and this was the closest spot with decent reviews. The Good: *Parking is plentiful at this shopping center *Dog-friendly outdoor seating *Large menu that features authentic Mexican food such as cochinita pibil, as well as more Americanized dishes, like nachos. *Very reasonable pricing *Interior décor is very festive and fun *Fast-casual order and pay at the counter, and they'll bring the food out to you. *Nice selection of beers in the can and bottle, as well as a solid lineup of Jarritos® drinks. *Speaking of the cochinita pibil, it was a solid rendition with fork tender sweet and spicy pork with an ample serving of pickled onions. The concomitant rice and beans didn't lend much in the way of flavor but were both cooked well. *Taco salads were huge and a good value for only $12 The Meh: *As mentioned above, the rice and beans could use a upping in the flavor department, and their tortillas are not housemade. The Ugly: *Chips and salsa were not complimentary ($1.75), but were free with Yelp check-in. Which is whatever, but this was easily one of the saddest chips and salsa I've ever had; two thimbles of salsa and a handful of those really thin, flavorless tortilla chips that have an odd texture. Yeah, you know the one. TLDR: Solid Mexican food that would satisfy your craving but not necessarily worth going out of your way for.

Ask the Community - Corazon Mexican Food

    How spicy are the jalapeños?

I would say a little spicy. If you don't eat spicy, ask for them to be on the side. That way you can judge and still add them to your food. Every person has a different level of tolerance towards spicy.

Do they use chicken stock in their rice or is it vegan?

Is vegan. We don't use chicken stock/broth. Also our refried beans and black beans are vegan.

A week before, I had cycled to this eatery and found it full of customers enjoying, to my surprise, cooked chicken. I didn't have time to queue up for a meal, but resolved to return in the future. It was in this downpour that seemed a good thing to do--the torrential weather would reduce the wait time. Parking in the small lot was good--plenty of open spaces. I (gimp)walked up the ramp and entered the nearly vacant super clean space, pleased to not be in a queue. Sure enough, I was the only person inside other than the cashier & chef. Now my concern was deciding upon the specific dish; finally choosing the Starbird 2.0 sandwich only--not the meal that included fries and a drink. The pleasant cashier quickly had my selection bagged and ready to go, and my credit card completed the transaction. After collecting numerous napkins, I returned to our (motor)vehicle and my much better half, who had patiently waited for me. Once back at our apartment, I finally got a look at my purchase. It was exactly as promised, crispy chicken slices between two buns, along with a small pile of veggies & sauce. I devoured it rather quickly, washing it all down with iced 0% milk. ¿Maybe I should have gotten the meal; I could've eaten more of the delicious food! Anyway, I was glad to have had my first ever experience with this lovely chicken eatery on this drizzling late afternoon, and look forward to returning in the future. It has my coveted "iWheel of Approval!"

I love chicken sandwiches and I wanted to try their classic chicken sandwich :)…read more The sandwich was surprisingly really TASTY!! They put a massive tender into the sandwich with fresh tomatoes and a slaw with a really good dressing. To be honest, the dressing was the best part of the slaw, and it carried a lot of the flavor in the sandwich. The chicken was juicy, tender, and crispy!! I really enjoyed it! You can order on their mobile kiosks to the side, and they will ask you for your phone number to let you know when the order is ready. The seating area was both indoors and outdoors. I would imagine it would be nice in the summer when it is much warmer to sit outside!

Some are good. Some are amazing. Most are just...so-so. Thankfully, this Jersey Mike's location is, well, amazing. A few years ago, I discovered Jersey Mike's. It was located in Mountain View near the corner of El Camino Real and San Antonio Rd. It was a very good and consistent restaurant. That location was one of those "let's eat there" when we weren't sure what we wanted to eat. It was never disappointing. Unfortunately, that location closed. So, every once in a while, we would get a craving for Jersey Mike's. So, we stopped by a few other locations. They weren't as good as the one that was in Mountain View. So, for a while, we basically stopped eating at any Jersey Mike's. On my birthday, I discovered that I had a free sub from Jersey Mike's. So, on my way home, I stopped by and picked it up. It was fantastic. This led us to revisit the restaurant....again and again. Each time, the staff was patient, attentive and, well, interested in making our sandwiches correctly. In other sandwich shops (including a few other Jersey Mike's locations), this isn't the case. When those shops get busy, the quality is sometimes a casualty of the chaos. That's not the case with the Jersey Mike's in Sunnyvale. I guess that is the stand-out quality of this store. It's consistent. Even when it is very busy, the restaurant staff is still individually attentive and our sandwiches have been made correctly. This is what has kept us coming back. It's a bit of a drive from our home in Palo Alto; but, it's worth the drive. Although this shopping center is very busy, there is still ample parking near the Jersey Mike's. The store is consistently clean. The ingredients and bread are always fresh too. It's kind of odd to speak so highly of Jersey Mike's sandwich shop in an area with so many gourmet delis and sandwich shops. Yet, it's the consistency that is so amazing here that keeps us coming back. It's something that you often only find at local Mom & Pop restaurants. Yet, it's very present here. Well done!
