The menu offers kind of new and different dishes than similar restaurants. We order focaccia bread, Cauliflower, goat empanadas, green beans , branzino steak and mango rice pudding and few non alcoholic drink. All was very good , portion they say is to share but I don't think so, excepted like us , that we were 4 for people at the table and we share the food ordering a little extra. Prices are in the higher range. Service need to improve, some of the drink was club soda and Diet Coke, they bring in a glass when you ask for refill, then you get the surprise in the bill that they charge for each drink because are in a 6oz or less per bottle.....and the server didn't explained that, and cost $6 per bottle. Also Was very slaw and didn't follow our table during the time that we were there, just the busser to pick up the dirty plate and bring the drinks refill. This place wow'd me! I thought it would be overhyped but it was one of the best meals I've had in a while. While the servers were very kind, the hosts seemed kind of rude and standoff-ish which started the dinner at the wrong foot. However, the experience went up from there! The cocktails were strong and well crafted. My favorite dish was the hamachi aguachile and the skirt steak. I would definitely come back for those. The pork shank was good and extremely tender but not as mind blowing as I expected. We also got the tuna quinoa poke salad, pita & dip, and goat empanadas. They were good but nothing outstanding. We had a reservation set at 11:15 am on Labor Day, we were seated outdoor at their patio seating. Valley Goat is seated inside the TreeHouse hotel in Sunnyvale, the property is just stunning overall. The restaurant opens out onto their patio so it doesn't feel like you're excluded from the lively atmosphere from inside. Our server was kind enough to put up umbrellas for us since it was a bright, sunny morning. Our server was incredibly helpful at recommending which dishes to order. We ordered the following: Goat empanadas Crispy Quinoa and Tuna Salad Smoked Salmon Dip with pita bread Potato Crepe The Asian influence is very strong in the menu which I think is always great tasting familiar flavors. I thought that most of the dishes were very well thought out, the flavors balanced each other well and offered a new twist to "brunch". I did think the quinoa salad dressing was quite salty and the potato crepe had a pool of oil. Overall everything else tasted quite yummy! Service was a bit slow today but they were incredibly busy so it wasn't the end of the world. We booked a dinner reservation here to celebrate my boyfriend's job promotion and had a great experience. The staff were all so friendly and provided excellent service. They were attentive and made sure our water glasses were always full. The interior is beautiful with all of the plants. Their goat empanadas are popular for a reason, the aroma was amazing when it was served to our table. I really enjoyed it as an appetizer and the sauce paired well. The sautéed green beans with fish sauce aioli were umami heaven. It was just as delicious as I remembered, when I visited Girl & The Goat in Chicago a few years ago. The sticky pork shank was tender and fell right off the bone. I made lettuce wraps with the pork, pickled veggies, and sauces provided - wow, everything tasted so delicious! We also ordered the skirt steak to share, which was good, but a bit chewy. I definitely recommend getting the pork shank. Overall, Valley Goat has unique and tasty dishes that I don't think I can find elsewhere around South Bay. I chose this spot for my birthday weekend brunch with the girls. I've been wanting to see this space for sometime. This is a hotel restaurant, nestled in Silicon Valley, I would have never guessed where it was. The hotel itself is unassuming, quirky yet inviting at the same time. It was nothing like imagined, not necessarily a bad thing. But Valley Goat was exceptional. Its fare is on the eclectic side (also a bit pricey) but every dish we ordered was so good. Service was a bit in the slow side but we came in the last hour of lunch. And our waiter was busy, but the food made up for it and even though I didn't get a birthday dessert, our waiter offered us champagne. Oh their drink menu is also delightful! Outside of the restaurant is a deck to an outdoor area where there is a semi bier-garten/"play area". Most of the area was reserved that day for another birthday. Cute idea though and we talked about coming for their week-day happy hour (grazing hour) sometime. I highly recommend the food and vibes. read more

Been waiting to visit this place for a while! I'd heard great things from my cousin and a few friends, and I was even more excited when I found out it was opened by James Beard Award-winning chef Stephanie Izard. I loved watching her on Top Chef, so I've definitely been curious to try it. I'm actually in this area pretty often to charge since it's close to my daughter's school, so I've seen the restaurant from the outside plenty of times but never had the chance to go in. We arrived right when they opened at 10 a.m., and I was literally the first person through the door! Just a heads-up: they won't seat you until your entire party has arrived. Luckily, there's a really nice waiting area in front of a fireplace. I absolutely loved the decor and ambiance. It's comfortable and cozy, with lots of plants and beautiful views of the outdoors. It almost gives you a little Napa feel, which I really enjoyed. As we were looking through the menu, I didn't realize the dishes were meant to be shareable. I thought they were more like individual meal-sized plates. I ordered the Goat Empanadas with limey huacatay, along with a Bluestone Lane Coffee latte. Once everything started arriving at the table, it made much more sense that the menu was designed for sharing. The goat empanadas were really good and didn't taste gamey at all. The limey huacatay paired really well with them and added a nice brightness. The portion was decent, although I thought they were a little pricey for empanadas. The latte was good as well. We really loved the ambiance, so we're definitely planning to come back. Now that I know the menu is meant for sharing, next time I'd like to order a few different things for the table. We just had lattes next door and Valley Goat just opened for lunch. It's a nice place, all new and clean. We ordered the goat empanadas. They are good, crisp on the outside, and a nice sauce to dip in. I liked the goat better in these empanadas more than the goat curries I've tried. I should have ordered the oysters for $20. For $10 an empanada, it didn't seem worth it but it was nice to try. My friend and I just had lattes and shared a jelly Cronut just a few minutes before walking in. So we didn't think we were that hungry. We thought sharing the goat empanadas, quinoa tuna salad, and the pork belly noodles would fill us. The quinoa was crunchy. The tuna was good. The pork belly was very good. The noodles had a nice sauce. Both were good but we were just really hungry that day. For $85 not including tip, we needed more food afterwards. Highly Recommended Spot for Any Occasion! Having visited this restaurant several times now for both personal and work events, I highly recommend it for brunch, dinner, and groups of any size. The modern decor and welcoming ambiance make it perfect for everything from casual 1:1 catch-ups to large group gatherings, with excellent indoor and outdoor seating options. They also offer a private room for booking. The food and drinks are consistently good, reasonably priced, and offer great variety--though the dinner menu is notably broader than their more limited brunch selection. Some of my absolute dinner favorites include the goat empanadas, the crispy quinoa and tuna poke salad, the spicy handroll dip, and the sticky pork shank. For brunch, the ginger chili yum pork belly and the cinnabun are must-tries. *Will flag that twice I've come for brunch and they've run out of menu items.... As a bonus, the online reservation process is seamless, and you can easily visit the adjacent beer garden or stop by the gift shop to check out their unique, plant-covered VW bug. This is a review for First Fridays. I wanted to give the event team a chance to connect with me before posting this review, but they have not returned my calls despite promising me they would get back to me. I bought three tickets for the First Friday event scheduled for 8/4, from 4-8pm with chef Stephanie Izard. When I arrive at 6pm, I was told at the check in table that many of the food items were already out, and that I could request a refund. They told me to go in anyway, and to check out what was available. I waited thirty minutes in one line to get a bite of salmon, which was delicious, except the advertised item was sea bass, which they had run out of. Then they ran out of the salmon too, before I could get a second bite. Next, I waited in line to meet Chef Stephanie, but she stepped away from her station when I got to the front. I also found out it was a shrimp based dish (and the veggies were also cooked with shrimp paste), to which I am allergic to. All of the other food items were out. We left the event still very hungry, and I asked to speak with someone about the refund. They took down my name, number and email and said someone would call me the next week. No one ever did. When I called back to follow up, I again was told they would call me. They again did not. I would expect more professionalism especially when I'm being charged $344 for one bite of food. We stayed past their serving time and they let us chat with no rush. This was on a Sunday at 2pm when we were wrapping things up. Lunch was exceptional. *Vegetarian Foodie Review* This place is right next to the Beer Garden, but it's more of a restaurant-style, dine-in format. I felt like there were limited dinner options for vegetarians. My BIL came with his groomsmen to Valley Goat during this bachelor party weekend mid-March and liked it so much that he wanted to bring my sister (and me) there the next time they were in the Bay. His group absolutely loved the goat empanadas, the disco fries, and the pork shank. My sister and BIL were in town again in mid-July so I made a reservation on OpenTable (easy with one week in advance). We were seated at one of the booths and service was... a little odd. We never got a "Welcome to Valley Goat, have you been here before?" or any explanation about the menu. We sort of knew what to order because of my BIL but it was notably weird. Service that day was impersonal and the main reason why I've downgraded one star. BIL said that he had better service with the bachelor party in March - the server back then had thoroughly explained the menu and was great about everything until things got a bit busier later and they had to wait a long time for the check. However, despite the weird service, the food was so good that I brought some of my local friends the following weekend - and this time, we did not make a reservation and decided to walk in and sit at the bar. Big shout out to Jonathan, Roy, Erica and Nick who took good care of us at the bar! At one point in our meal, they noticed we were waiting for our last two dishes for a while and I overheard them talking about going to check on those plates, and sure enough they appeared shortly after. We never waited long after drinks were finished before they checked in if we wanted anything else. Food: Disco fries ($25) were fire - loved the combination of savory / creamy / pickled items. Would definitely order again. Sticky pork shank ($59) - the number one reason I wanted to bring my friends here because I knew they would be as impressed as I was. With the $59 price tag, it's a little hefty but absolutely worth it. Meat slides right off the bones, sauces are fantastic, pickled cucumber salad and pluot salad add a nice counterbalance to the meat... the only thing I would like more of is the lettuce pieces so I can make my own lettuce wraps! Chickpea fritters ($21) - one of my faves other than the pork shank. Loved the crisp textures and flavors. Goat empanadas ($20) - delicious and one of my BIL's favorite dishes. That limey huacatay sauce appears on several menu items and stands out each time - can't go wrong with it! Less impressive: sautéed green beans ($20) were not worth the money and were too salty, and the kalbi ($45) was fine and didn't stand out like the other dishes. Sort of a run-of-the-mill kalbi. Drinks: drinks were definitely on the pricier side but all very tasty! I was actually most impressed by one of their mocktails - the Temple Fizz ($16). Mocktails are weird in that some bars will increase the price to an unreasonable amount, but I think it's genuinely deserved here. The Temple Fizz had complex notes that had me sipping like I would any other cocktail, rather than guzzling it down like a soda. A lovely brunch at Valley Goat! I'm obsessed with the decor here - lush greenery and beautiful dried flowers everywhere. The greenhouse serves as the Tree House hotel's reception area, creating such a unique and relaxing atmosphere. Right next to it is Valley Goat, which offers Californian cuisine with a family-style dining experience. I especially loved their private dining room, with its gorgeous wallpaper and dried flowers hanging from the light fixtures. They also have a spacious outdoor patio that's perfect for enjoying the beautiful weather. Very disappointing experience at Valley Goat. For a $$$ restaurant that presents itself as a higher-end, fancy establishment, the service and attention to basic standards were very lacking. Right as we were seated, my friend noticed a dirty fork at her seat (photo attached to this post). Our server, Francine, was rude and just not nice. One of our friends has a gluten allergy, but Francine failed to give us the gluten-free menu beforehand. By the time she finally brought it over, we had already decided on our dishes. When we asked if she could check our order against the gluten-free options, she just rudely snapped, "Look at the gluten-free menu, it's right there." We expected her to at least ask if it was our first time there or offer some recommendations, but we got nothing. When we tried to order the goat empanadas (one of the key dishes they are well known for) we were told they had completely run out, which was a big disappointment. To make matters worse, a busser dropped and broke a cup right on the table while clearing dishes and didn't even bother to apologize or acknowledge us. On top of that, the restrooms were not clean at all, which adds to this bad review. When we brought up our concerns about the service and experience to our other server, Maria, she said she would speak with the manager. A few minutes later, she returned and simply told us she "couldn't find the manager," offering zero resolution, apology, or effort to make things right. First time! Glad I ventured out, I found this gem close to work and I have to say I am impressed! I worked on this project back in 2020 and visiting it for the first time was an incredible experience! I enjoyed the Syrah I was served, it paired well with the halibut tostadas but not so much with the oysters. The roasted oysters lacked a bit of seasoning, though if you add the sauce that comes with it, it's OK, nothing impressive if you really just want the taste of the oyster and not the seasonings to enhance the taste. I did enjoy the halibut tostadas, I think making the tostadas from scratch suits the dish so well because it's airy and crunchy. I also enjoyed the ambience, it's a nice relaxing place to chit chat and overall mingle and watch a game or two. I'll be back to explore more of their menu items. read more

ARE WE IN SILICON VALLEY? 4.5 One might never know this restaurant exists, tucked away near a Google business park just off Highway 101. You could stumble upon it through Yelp (as we did), discover it while staying at the adjacent Treehouse Hotel, or simply hear about it through word of mouth. The parking situation is an interesting one. After turning into the driveway from Mathilda Avenue, you have two options: turn right for valet parking or left into the Google parking lot. There are plenty of spaces available, though parking there is technically at your own risk. The restaurant told us they had not heard of anyone being ticketed or towed. We first dined here shortly after it opened in 2025 and were immediately impressed by the beautiful grounds. The hotel's eco-conscious gift shop, housed in a glass greenhouse and featuring a colorful vintage VW Bug, is a charming touch. The short walk to the restaurant feels especially relaxing on a warm, sunny day. This has become one of our favorite places to bring friends or host girls' lunches. With three distinct seating options: the dining room, bar, and patio, there's an atmosphere to suit just about any occasion, whether you're dining as a couple or gathering with a larger group. I would recommend visiting during lunch or dinner service and skipping the in-between hours. During that time, only the bar area is open and the menu is more limited. To fully experience what Valley Goat has to offer, lunch or dinner is the way to go. Despite the name, the only goat dish on the menu at the time of this review is the Goat Empanadas. My friend was initially hesitant to order them, but David, our wonderful server, and I encouraged her to give them a try. She was glad she did. There was no gamey flavor whatsoever; the meat tasted more like beef, and the accompanying sauce was excellent. Over several visits, we've enjoyed everything we've ordered and are delighted to have a restaurant of this caliber in our Bay Area backyard. Chef and co-owner Stephanie Izard, winner of Season 4 of Top Chef and an Iron Chef title, owns a total of nine restaurants, primarily in the Chicago area, along with locations in Los Angeles and one at Orlando International Airport. Amazing food AND service! Loved the ambiance as well. We chose 4 items and they happened to be the four most popular items per our server haha My favorite was their spicy handroll dip: so flavorful, savory, and the crunch of the fried quinoa perfectly topped off every bite Green beans were my second favorite. Perfect seasoning, accounting for the potential loss of flavor when you bite into the beans. Flavor was basically like the really good string beans you find at Chinese restaurants, but the crunch+flavor combo of the beans were better than most. Wasn't too bland/oily, wasn't too salty Crispy sticky pork shank: the crispy skin was really good, and the flavor lingered in your mouth throughout the entire bite. The sauces were good and balanced the dish well, but the Asian in me wished there were spicy/sweet sauces as an option too haha The Goat empanadas were also very yummy. Perfectly flaky, buttery, and worked well with the sauce Having Luis as our server made our experience even more enjoyable, and made us want to come back! Between the explosion of flavors and the beautiful ambience, and plate presentations, this place is a must try! I love the Chef who is behind this restaurant and was excited to have watched her in 24 in 24 & Top Chef. I can see why she is a James Beard award winner! I came here recently with three girlfriends, and we shared a variety of dishes, all 5/5! * Avocado Dip + Plantain chips: great combo with plantain chips instead of usual tortilla chips * Wood-fired Eggplant + Carrot hummus, Tzatziki: adored the carrot hummus! * Shrimp Salad - absolutely delicious with crispy shrimp, avocado, quinoa, mandarins in a lime-herb vinaigrette. Outstanding. * Disco Fries: not your average French fries! Loved the pork sausage and pickled red onions, wonderfully tart savory flavor. *Sautéed green beans - next level green beans with a creamy vinaigrette and chopped cashews *Grilled Corn: spiced coconut, cotija and tajin. Delicious! *Red Pepper Bread: melts in your mouth I think we finished everything we couldn't help ourselves. It was so delicious! Really didn't have much room for dessert, but we had to splurge and check it out so we decided to share two plates: *Pandan Flan: I love flan, and this was phenomenal! The pandan caramel paired perfectly with the yogurt crème, and the coconut rice crunch and strawberries added texture. And, the plating was fabulous! *Mango Sticky Rice: the presentation alone was incredible. Best I've ever had. Next level! This is a must! To go along with the incredible food is a beautiful atmosphere that you just want to sit and save her. We had exceptional service as well. I honestly cannot wait to go back. Good food with an even better ambiance. The warm natural interior combined with being situated within the Treehouse Hotel property (which is absolutely nothing like your idea of a traditional hotel) made me feel like I got transported to Napa or something. A perfect temporary escape which made me forget I was in the middle of Silicon Valley for a second. But back to the food, honestly everything was good and there wasn't anything our party didn't like. The standout for us was definitely the Wood-Fire Eggplant, and this is coming from a group who is very much not vegetarians. The Mango Sticky Rice dessert was a nice fun way to end the meal, offering a unique take on a classic, but I'd still stick with the traditional way. Our only complaint would be that the server automatically added an additional oyster and goat empanada for our party of 3 without our consent. We were fine with the default serving size of 2 for each since one of us didn't want an oyster and I was fine with just sharing an empanada, but the server didn't bother informing us about serving size and didn't check if it was okay with us. A very simple, "it normally comes with 2, is that okay/would you like to add a 3rd" goes a long way in terms of hospitality. Especially when each additional piece was $10. read more

This restaurant is located walking distance from the Google Cloud campus. I didn't even know this place existed until we had a team lunch there. I was absolutely blown away with everything I ate. I wish I had more space in my stomach to eat more. - Avocado Dip: this comes with banana chips and the combination was absolutely amazing. - Disco Fries: this comes with pork and we asked them to remove it. I mean the fries were to die for. What a unique twist to the fries. - Chickpea Fritters: I mean wow!! I was not expecting it to taste like Indian street food. It was just so good. The salads looked delicious too. I cannot wait to go back and eat there again. I'm getting hungry just thinking about the food. read more

Menu: They have 3 different menus. Weekday brunch (M-F), Brunch (weekend only), Dinner (M-Sunday). Came here on the weekend (with a reservation) to try their brunch. We ordered a few items to share and each were spectacular. The shrimp salad in particular contained perfectly cooked shrimp (although there weren't many) tossed in the right amount of sauce. The grilled asparagus were delightfully sweet and smokey. The smoked salmon dip paired with pickles were just the right amount of savory, spicy, and sour. Ambience: very greenhouse vibes. The interior had many live walls (walls filled with viney plants), and ceiling decor of plants as well. Along the restaurant was a long line of monsteras, scattered with fiddle leaf plants throughout. Love how "fresh" it made the restaurant feel. Given their different menus I different times, would definitely try to come back and try their dinner menu. Price: food arrives in small plates (for sharing). A bit on the expensive side for the small plates. However, the taste of each dish is exceptional. read more

Our first time here and was swept away by the creativity, art and architecture of this space and its surrounding. By the visuals alone outside and inside the restaurant, we knew it's going to be such a wonderful experience for us. We had the following: *GOAT EMPANADAS: a different take on the crust - flaky *SPICY HANDROLL DIP: a limey hint on the cracker that goes well with the tuna and hamachi dip *WOOD-FIRED EGGPLANT: hummus was balanced by the pickled veggies *STICKY PORK SHANK: the pickles and salad were perfect to cut this dish, otherwise, it would have been too meaty for me *PANDAN FLAN: very slight flavor of pandan which was perfect for someone who is not a fan of pandan *MANGO STICKY RICE: always a personal favorite, a tad lacking in mango flavor but nonetheless delicious Each dish was thoughtfully prepared! super nice vibes and ambiance in the entire area with friendly service, but the brunch food was mostly mid. walked in for a table of 2 on sunday around noon and it was either sit at the bar or outside with no shade, so recommend getting a res! my favorite was the tuna poke salad - the quinoa and pecans really added lots of texture character to the poke but you can easily make this salad at home. the pork belly was weirdly sweet and spicy (but like not good spicy, it was rather just salty spicy). the cinnabiscuit was quite heavy and texture felt too much like a biscuit and not enough like a cinnamon roll. have heard good things about their dinner menu though so maybe would revisit for that read more
