Between the explosion of flavors and the beautiful ambience, and plate presentations, this place is a must try! I love the Chef who is behind this restaurant and was excited to have watched her in 24 in 24 & Top Chef. I can see why she is a James Beard award winner! I came here recently with three girlfriends, and we shared a variety of dishes, all 5/5! * Avocado Dip + Plantain chips: great combo with plantain chips instead of usual tortilla chips * Wood-fired Eggplant + Carrot hummus, Tzatziki: adored the carrot hummus! * Shrimp Salad - absolutely delicious with crispy shrimp, avocado, quinoa, mandarins in a lime-herb vinaigrette. Outstanding. * Disco Fries: not your average French fries! Loved the pork sausage and pickled red onions, wonderfully tart savory flavor. *Sautéed green beans - next level green beans with a creamy vinaigrette and chopped cashews *Grilled Corn: spiced coconut, cotija and tajin. Delicious! *Red Pepper Bread: melts in your mouth I think we finished everything we couldn't help ourselves. It was so delicious! Really didn't have much room for dessert, but we had to splurge and check it out so we decided to share two plates: *Pandan Flan: I love flan, and this was phenomenal! The pandan caramel paired perfectly with the yogurt crème, and the coconut rice crunch and strawberries added texture. Good food with an even better ambiance. The warm natural interior combined with being situated within the Treehouse Hotel property (which is absolutely nothing like your idea of a traditional hotel) made me feel like I got transported to Napa or something. A perfect temporary escape which made me forget I was in the middle of Silicon Valley for a second. But back to the food, honestly everything was good and there wasn't anything our party didn't like. The standout for us was definitely the Wood-Fire Eggplant, and this is coming from a group who is very much not vegetarians. The Mango Sticky Rice dessert was a nice fun way to end the meal, offering a unique take on a classic, but I'd still stick with the traditional way. Our only complaint would be that the server automatically added an additional oyster and goat empanada for our party of 3 without our consent. We were fine with the default serving size of 2 for each since one of us didn't want an oyster and I was fine with just sharing an empanada, but the server didn't bother informing us about serving size and didn't check if it was okay with us. A very simple, "it normally comes with 2, is that okay/would you like to add a 3rd" goes a long way in terms of hospitality. Especially when each additional piece was $10. read more

This restaurant is located walking distance from the Google Cloud campus. I didn't even know this place existed until we had a team lunch there. I was absolutely blown away with everything I ate. I wish I had more space in my stomach to eat more. - Avocado Dip: this comes with banana chips and the combination was absolutely amazing. - Disco Fries: this comes with pork and we asked them to remove it. I mean the fries were to die for. What a unique twist to the fries. - Chickpea Fritters: I mean wow!! I was not expecting it to taste like Indian street food. It was just so good. ARE WE IN SILICON VALLEY? 4.5 One might never know this restaurant exists, tucked away near a Google business park just off Highway 101. You could stumble upon it through Yelp (as we did), discover it while staying at the adjacent Treehouse Hotel, or simply hear about it through word of mouth. The parking situation is an interesting one. After turning into the driveway from Mathilda Avenue, you have two options: turn right for valet parking or left into the Google parking lot. There are plenty of spaces available, though parking there is technically at your own risk. The restaurant told us they had not heard of anyone being ticketed or towed. We first dined here shortly after it opened in 2025 and were immediately impressed by the beautiful grounds. The hotel's eco-conscious gift shop, housed in a glass greenhouse and featuring a colorful vintage VW Bug, is a charming touch. The short walk to the restaurant feels especially relaxing on a warm, sunny day. This has become one of our favorite places to bring friends or host girls' lunches. With three distinct seating options: the dining room, bar, and patio, there's an atmosphere to suit just about any occasion, whether you're dining as a couple or gathering with a larger group. I would recommend visiting during lunch or dinner service and skipping the in-between hours. During that time, only the bar area is open and the menu is more limited. To fully experience what Valley Goat has to offer, lunch or dinner is the way to go. Despite the name, the only goat dish on the menu at the time of this review is the Goat Empanadas. My friend was initially hesitant to order them, but David, our wonderful server, and I encouraged her to give them a try. She was glad she did. There was no gamey flavor whatsoever; the meat tasted more like beef, and the accompanying sauce was excellent. Over several visits, we've enjoyed everything we've ordered and are delighted to have a restaurant of this caliber in our Bay Area backyard. Chef and co-owner Stephanie Izard, winner of Season 4 of Top Chef and an Iron Chef title, owns a total of nine restaurants, primarily in the Chicago area, along with locations in Los Angeles and one at Orlando International Airport. Our first time here and was swept away by the creativity, art and architecture of this space and its surrounding. By the visuals alone outside and inside the restaurant, we knew it's going to be such a wonderful experience for us. Such a wonderful experience at Valley Goat, I'm already dreaming of returning. Our server Marianne was the kindest person with great recommendations. Started off the a handmade poke roll dip. It was a fun take on chips and salsa. The signature cocktail menu is so creative and the bar is definitely stocked well with top shelf choices. We came here around 5pm on a weekday without a reservation and were able to get seated within 20 mins. We sat down and order drinks and the disco fries and empanadas. Our waiter ended up putting the order for the wrong table as the empanadas and disco fries ended up at the table behind us and they did not order it. We waited a while for our appetizers, but I would recommend both dishes. The disco fries could be a skip, although it tasted good I don't think it was worth the price. The ceviche I would skip as the fish had an acquired taste. The branzino and sticky pork hock was good and would recommend. The branzino had some creamy sauce which elevated the taste. I wish we were allowed to give half stars! It was almost a 5! By like a smidge! The restaurant is a part of a hotel that looks like a great staycation location (we're seriously considering coming back for a staycation and the food as well) We were on our way home from SF and didnt quite want the weekend to end and I've this place bookmarked. We found a reservation and did show up a bit early; the hostess informed us she may be able to seat us earlier but we were happy to explore the surroundings. Their pool area is so inviting and relaxing but you needed a key to get in (understandably) The restaurant provides an outdoor eating space that leads into their beer garden; And their beer garden is full of games and plenty of space to yourself if you just a need a place to read. The outdoor is as beatiful as indoors. The atmosphere is inviting enough for a date nite, a solo dinner, a group night out, etc. The seating is a combination of booths and tables and they also have a private dining room for a party of 12! I was hoping for a booth but alas we got a small table for two (which i always feel like I wanna say "we're gonna order a lot and need more space) so maybe next time. We had the avocado dip (so refreshing and unique and delicious), the short ribs (tasted amazing but nothing i havent had before), the branzino (great! Packed with so much flavor and topping to fill your appetite,) the greenbeans (you MUST order, so flipping flavorful! We wanted more and took more home) and for desert their pandan flan (a great choice and served in an unexpected and different from what i know as flan). The cocktails seemed interesting but the restaurant closes at 10pm and we felt, at times, rushed so we opted for a straight whiskey for my husband and a glass of wine and sparkling for myself. (Their sauvignon blanc was the perfect crisp and the sparkling was perfect for the flan) If it's not a full five stars was because our waiter asked us if we were celebrating anything special and we said our anniversary BUT didnt say congratulations nor did her acknowledge it for the rest of the meal. AND to my horror and my anxiety; they started cleaning up at 9:45pm. They were turning off table lamps and removing them... it just doesn't bode well with me. An outstanding visit from the moment we walked in. We were greeted and seated promptly (with reservation.) We started with the Goat Empanadas. Delicious filling surrounded by a flakey empanada crust. It's no wonder it sells out often. All of the entrees are shareable. Our party of three wanted to try a variety of dishes, and not one disappointed. They all came out individually, which allowed for good company to share a nice bottle of wine (syrah . stolpman 'crunchy roastie' 2022.) If I had to pick my "must-haves" for future visits, I'd say the Sticky Pork Shank, Wood-Fired Eggplant, and Chickpea Fritters would have to join the empanadas. I truly feel that every dessert is worth a try. Both the Mango Sticky Rice and Chocolate Basil Brownie Bash (new) were delicious. So, save room for something! Wonderful atmosphere! Valley Goat is conveniently and oddly right off 237 and Mathilda. Once you ignore the surrounding Google buildings, it almost feels like you've escaped to a remote little getaway spot. The restaurant itself has such warm and welcoming vibes, which honestly feels rare for this part of Sunnyvale, so I'm really glad this place exists. The bar area is beautiful, and the food was absolutely amazing. The fire-roasted branzino was delicious. The "sweet and sour sauce" description almost scared me off, but it actually tasted more like a bright fish sauce vinaigrette that went perfectly with the fish. The sautéed green beans were highly recommended and completely lived up to the hype. Opt for the spiced fries instead of the disco because we weren't in a "loaded" fries mood. I stumbled in here completely by accident while looking for a nice dinner option on a business trip, and lo and behold it's one of Stephanie Izard's restaurants! Girl and Goat Chicago had the best meal of my life so as soon as I saw the little goat logo I had high expectations. Those expectations were, for the most part, met immediately upon entering and experiencing the gorgeous ambiance of this restaurant. It had the cool California coastal aesthetic while not being too pretentious. I loved the place settings and the high ceilings and art throughout. The drinks were so pricey but so good. I got the Goat Fashioned and it was absolutely worth every sip. I will echo that the price for portions here is a little skewed. The goat empanada was incredible, one of the best bites of food I've ever had, but the other two items I got--chickpea fritters and asparagus--were so covered in decoration that I felt like it buried the main event. They looked gorgeous, but adding edible flowers and crunchy bits seemed like a way to stretch the plate without adding a lot of substance. I'd love to see more of the signature Goat ingredient, as well as larger portions with less fluff. I'll definitely be back, perhaps for happy hour to curb the cost. Came for my birthday dinner and loved it! If you know Stephanie's style, then you can see this whole menu has that Izard flair - there's a Latin or Asian flair to every dish because she loves that punch of flavor. And it works! I would have most of these again! We started with drinks of course. Her cocktails are expensive ($20-23 per) so we veered into wine which was a hair bit more palatable ($17-20). I had a Syrah and boyfriend had the Cab. It was cool to hear that Stephanie personally picks what is featured and we have to say, her picks were right up our alley. Disco fries - awesome. Fries topped with pork, cotija cheese, jalapeños, and pickled onions. Savory, spicy, with that pop of acid. What's missing? A sweet element you say? She got you covered with a drizzle of coconut that can't be seen but can be tasted. Goat Empanadas: the Izard namesake. Super flaky pastry and the goat was treated exceptionally well. If you didn't tell me it was goat, I would have just assumed pork. The hucatay sauce was herby and delicious. We also used it for the fries. Hamachi Crudo: really liked her play on textures and flavors here. The puffed rice and the hamachi were really nice foils, but the true star were those peels of kumquat which are totally in season now - bright, citrusy, tart. Salmon - this was a tad on the salt bomb side for me. The miso base was salty because duh, miso. But then then salmon was also aggressively seasoned before having a sichuan spice oil generously covering it. The salmon was cooked perfectly otherwise. Pandan flan: toasted rice, macerated strawberries, and creamy pandan flavor. No complaints lol. I would definitely welcome a repeat experience. Heard of this place for a couple years and finally got to try it on a business dinner. In the past when I checked it out, I didn't find the menu extensive. Today I was happy with the food, more to that later. First off, this place is not so easy for me to find. There's a blue glass building outside, which misled me to drive around, looking for somewhere else. Would be better to have a sign somewhere more visible on the street. The place was well decorated with hanging plants and gave a calm, peaceful, and open feeling. It feels great to be inside. It's also a good setting for business HH or gatherings. We started with the drinks, and I tried the Goat Gibson, thinking it must be their signature cocktail since it has their name on it. I don't like it at all. It's too savory for my palate. My Vietnamese coworker saw the ingredient list had fish sauce, and he took an interest in it. After having a few sips, he also didn't like it. The Blush Spritz was a lot more normal for a cocktail. Overall, we found the cocktails pricy for the size offered. They also ran out of Laughing Monk which was the only beer our coworkers were interested in. The food on the other hand was better. We had: -Goat empanadas: great bakery skills on the wrapping, fragrant and buttery -Crispy Quinoa + Tuna Poke Salad: fresh tuna, everyone loves the dressing -Roasted Asparagus: interesting presentation with flowers covering the asparagus. We had to dig in to find the asparagus but they tasted good and fresh. -Wood-fired Mary's chicken: half a chicken, the meat was juicy with few bones -Sticky Pork Shank: This is the best. It came with a whole knuckle-sized portion of meat on a bone. At first I was surprised that they didn't offer any serving knives but only a tong. Amazingly, the meat was so soft that the tong was the only tool we needed to break up the meat. Super soft and juicy meat with lettuce leaves on the side to mimic a Korean wrap. -Daily special of Hamachi Collar: not bad, but I prefer the Japanese hamachi kama way of cooking. This one is a big collar that had a lot of meat, but I felt like too much meat could easily make the cooking uneven. One thing we noticed though, is all 3 large plates have very similar salad on the side, all the same pickled onions. It would be good to have some differences among dishes. We also tried their Pandan Flan for dessert. I was expecting a green flan, so when a white flan appeared, it took me by surprise a bit. It did have the pandan taste once I spooned in. And the crispy rice was a pleasant addition to the dish. Lastly, onto service. We had to wait till the party was mostly there to be seated. But our waiter service was good. He gave us good suggestions and kept our water filled. Dirty dishes were also cleaned up timely. All in all we are satisfied with the meal. Some mentioned they would come back. Jose was the best of the best server! I was blown away by his attentiveness and his recommendations for drink pairings with my meal. The skuna bay salmon was a 15/10... it's the #1 protein I eat, but I've never had anything as good as the salmon served here. Jose recommended the petit chablis for my wine pairing and he was right on the money. For dessert I had the chocolate passion fruit semifreddo, another excellent suggestion. This place has a seasonal menu and located inside an outdoor type of unit. So you can get a nice outdoor view while eating. I feel like this is a brunch spot as we ordered from the brunch menu. Potato Crepe (5/5): This is like the Vietnamese bánh xèo but with potato instead of the egg. It's really think so a good bang for your buck. I never had sauce with potato, so that was interesting. The outside is crunch but the inside is soft as it's balanced. The Vietnamese sausage tasted more like a regular sausage. Yolk onomokiyaki (3/5): I thought this was okay. It tasted like a fried with a bunch of random flavor. Goat empanadas (5/5): This seemed like a classic. The breading was perfectly fluffy and crusty. Finally had a chance to dine at Valley Goat and it did not disappoint! Our party of 5 was seated at one of their round tables and it's easy to be distracted by all the beautiful green decor and vinyls in the restaurant. Our server was exceptional from beginning to end and promptly took our order and water was constantly filled at the table. He was not kidding when he said the food would come out quickly, and because the table space is small, we had to keep divvying up the food and clearing out the large plates. We ordered the hamachi poke which was refreshing and loved the puffed rice. Goat empanadas were flaky and buttery, could have easily eaten a whole plate to myself. Disco fries were very tasty and loved by all. The green beans were a tad salty but really good as well. Chickpea fritters were also good, the goat yogurt was a nice touch. We ordered the grilled eggplant and sticky shank as our mains. The eggplant skin was too charred for our taste, but really liked the carrot tahini and the fresh baked pita was so good we ordered another. The shank was one of my favorites, so tender and flavorful. Loved wrapping it in the lettuce, though the pear kimchi could have had more flavor and spice. For dessert we had the mango sticky rice and the pandan flan. The pandan flan was easily my favorite! We also had cocktails and while the espresso martini was good, I didn't like the smoky flavor to it. Scheduled an 11AM reservation for my girlfriend's birthday. Front of house mentioned happy birthday. After that, no mention from waiter. Upon walking to our seats, the seats were absolutely stained. I looked at it for a few seconds, but just had girlfriend sit on a cleaner portion and I took the L. Completely acknowledge I could have spoken up here to ask for a different seat...but still shocked staff wanted to sit us there. Two of us ordered: -handroll dip $25 -temple fizz $16 -beef skewer $24 -pork belly $28 -avo dip $17 Portions are small here. Even for tapas. Waiter forgot our drink. It was sitting at the bar and only brought over once second dish came out and I asked where it was. Avo dip was also forgotten. After all the food came, I asked where it was and he went back and got it. Paying the bill and getting the card back also took forever. Not a good experience. Value is not there. Service is non existent. Food flavors are good, but with the cost and lack of attentiveness, I would look elsewhere. read more

I came in around 8 PM expecting a nice dinner, but unfortunately the experience did not live up to expectations. The service was quite slow throughout the evening. We ordered the goat empanadas, wood-fired Mary's chicken, sprouted cauliflower, eggplant, and sticky pork shank. What surprised me most was how similar everything tasted. From the appetizers to the main dishes, the flavors seemed repetitive and lacked distinction. Each dish looked appealing, but none really stood out. Overall, the food felt uninspired, and I didn't get the sense that much care had gone into developing unique flavors for the menu. Both indoor seating and patio seating which is adjacent to the beer garden. Bread just shouldn't be $22 , but the red pepper flavored bread was a good starter, I liked the goat cheese sprinkled in the bread along with the creamy dip. The Cauliflower sprouts was not what we expected, I guess I didn't know what a cauliflower sprout was!! It consists of more stems and leaves than a traditional cauliflower head. That being said we were pleasantly surprised, and this was a really flavorful and delicious dish. The chicken kebabs were super skimpy, but they were well seasoned with a spicy and tender and juicy. There are chicken kebabs on the kids menu too and I literally thought they made a mistake because the chicken kebabs just seem so small in size they just had to be for mini people . The roasted eggplant was a fantastic dish. It was the only dish that was a large and even if you're not a huge eggplant fan , the carrot hummus and tzatziki on the side were really addictive. Comes with pita that I personally thought was too doughy, but I was outvoted and the rest of my family liked it. As per the kids menu , my daughter enjoyed the cheesy pita, which is essentially a quesadilla. The sesame noodles are a hard pass- it's not that it was bad, it's just not a flavor that a child would like. My kids both thought it tasted "sour". My son is actually whispering "bad" as I'm dictating this review. I enjoyed my red wine , but it is definitely a light pour; probably 6 oz. My husband really didn't like his pale ale that was recommended which he felt tasted more like a hazy . Service was peculiar, maybe our server was having a bad day. He brought a steak when we didn't order steak, which is fine but his attitude about it was strange and made it feel like it was our fault. After that, he just seemed moody. My son mentioned that he really didn't like the noodles, and he literally didn't say anything and darted away. Anyway, it's too bad because there aren't enough chic restaurants in the area. we enjoyed the food, but the price tag wasn't worth the experience and we probably won't come back. I have been to Valley Goat multiple times for both lunch and dinner, and they never disappoint. The menu is packed with bold flavors and creative Southwest Asian influences, yet the dishes never feel overly complicated or overwhelming. Everything feels thoughtfully put together and designed for sharing. The goat empanadas are must-order every single visit. Crispy on the outside with a flavorful filling, they are easily one of the best things on the menu. The disco fries and spicy handroll dip are also amazing appetizers. We also loved the whole branzino, pork shank and grilled corn - each dish was packed with flavor and beautifully executed. The only dish I probably won't order again is their skirt steak. It tasted great but the portion felt quite small for the price. As for cocktails, they were fine, but they didn't stand out the way the food did. Overall, Valley Goat is one of those restaurants where everything on the menu is worth trying. Making it a great spot for everything from casual dinners to celebrations with friends. read more

Overall food was good, but very small portions for the price - Potato crepe: very crispy, loved the fish sauce with this! Was great rolled with the lettuce, reminiscent of a bun xeo. Wished for more meat filling. - Goat empanada : nice flaky exterior, a little dry filling but the mint chutney saved it. Ok - the hardest part about going to Valley Goat for the first time is figuring out where the heck it is. Lol. The restaurant is located in the Treehouse hotel - which is a very cool modern hotel. Once there- the restaurant is beautifully decorated. Very cool vibe. We came for a birthday and were immediately welcomed. Great start Drinks are very good and come quickly. Food is super tasty here. The setting is pretty much a fancy upscale restaurant. But the bar tables with their pin wheel design is not conducive to cleaning in between diners as the food sort of falls in between the cracks. Most flavorful and unique dish for me was the Disco fries. Although the fries didn't come out piping hot, the awesome flavors of the meat and limey creamy sauce lent a solid punch and was a good start to the meal. Good size to share. The skirt steak was pretty solid. Flavors were good and the meat was tender. The dish came w some green onions. But needed something a little more to balance it out. And the branzino was decent sized, mostly deboned and came with an Asian/ Thai style of sweet and sour that wasn't over the top. Pretty nicely prepared. Cocktails on average are about $20. All in, a solid meal but a bit on the pricey side. Maybe now becoming the norm in the Bay Area. Or maybe due to being part of a fancy hotel complex next to a Google office. Not sure. read more

Great brunch spot! I loved the interior, the food, and the overall vibe. It's located next to hotel, so there's plenty to do around the area. There's a great outdoor space with benches to relax on and even some outdoor games. I'd give the food . Everything we ordered was so unique. The empanadas are a must try. I honestly can't even describe how good they were. I wish I had more room to try more items on the menu, but even the potato crepe was filling enough for two people. Of course, we still had to get dessert, so we tried the cinnamon bun and it was absolutely delicious. I can't wait to come back. Make sure to reserve ahead of time, especially on weekends. This was my third time at Valley Goat. My first visit was incredible and set the bar really high. My second visit was disappointing, so I wasn't sure what to expect coming back. Thankfully, this third visit reminded me why I loved this place in the first place. This time, we basically ordered almost the entire menu, and overall the food was excellent. My favorite dish of the night was the Spicy Handroll Dip. It's the one item I look forward to every visit and I'd recommend it to anyone dining here. The Hamachi Poke with goat butter was another standout and remains one of the most unique and memorable dishes on the menu. The salmon was good, but so many of the other dishes were so creative and elevated that it ended up being overshadowed. That's more of a testament to how strong the rest of the menu is. They had unfortunately run out of the goat empanadas, so we ordered the vegetable empanadas instead. To our surprise, they were just as good. The buttery aroma coming off the puff pastry when they hit the table was absolutely mouthwatering, and the flavor lived up to the smell. One question for Valley Goat though: why was the tempura nori replaced with crackers for the Spicy Handroll Dip? The dip is still amazing, but the tempura nori chips took it to another level. The crunch and texture paired perfectly with the dip, and I'd love to see it make a comeback. The atmosphere was lively, the presentation was beautiful, and the service was excellent. A special thank you to Jake for taking such great care of us all night. He was attentive, friendly, and helped make the evening memorable. While nothing has quite topped my first visit yet, this was a fantastic meal and a huge improvement from my second visit. Looking forward to visit number four. read more

This is a very late review - dined in May 10, 2025. Service: Five-star service from the staff, but the food is closer to 4.5 for me. Having been to Girl & the Goat in LA a few times, I feel like the sticky pork shank was significantly more dry at this location. Flavors were good though for everything else. Ambience - it's super spacious and the location is kind of in the middle of nowhere, but the lighting and decor is so cute! Love the goat appearance in the napkins and indoor decoration. Parking - easy as they have a good amount of space dedicated to parking. Bathrooms were clean too. I want to come back to try other items but would skip the pork shank! read more

I've been here a few times for corportate lunches and special occasions and I couldn't recommend it enough. Interior is spectacular -- especially when they have the doors open, service is always on point, drinks are unique, and food is so delicious. I definitely want to come back for food, so this review is solely for their bar. First thing, the bar has a great selection of tequilas, whiskeys, and gin. The place is decorated with beautiful plants and gives off a modern feel. It's cozy and an excellent place for a good vibe with friends or coworkers. The bartenders are attentive and there's a good amount waiting to make drinks and serve which is a plus. You don't have to fight your way for a drink; there will be someone who will help. Me and my friend enjoyed their Goat espresso martini which had vodka, kumquat and their house-made espresso beans. The kumquat was an excellent mix which made the drink pop. The martini is originally supposed to have vsop cognac but unfortunately, they didn't have any in stock which is a bummer. I want to come back again for bites and try a few more cocktails. I love that this is here and it's a huge win for the town because we needed something like this here in SV. read more
