They pass on the 0.0975% California Tourism Assessment fee.

They have live music on Saturdays in the lounge next to the bar starting at 6 or 7 pm; it's usually one or two musicians. It's quite pleasant. - 4.5/5: The Flying Ace cocktail is a good Old Fashioned riff, with a spicy cinnamon note. One oddity; they pass on the California tourism assessment fee, which applies to hotels that have restaurants. It is 0.0975% of restaurant sales. For for my $18 cocktail, I was hit with a 2 cent "CA Tourism Tax".

Absolutely delightful brunch we had at Roger Bar. The restaurant itself is tastefully decorated and was very festive for the season. We booked a Santa brunch so the kids could meet Santa and when we walked through the door, Santa was sitting over by the tree so enthusiastically waving at us. The kids were delighted! The hostess walked us over to our table and our server, Shannon, greeted us. She was so friendly and helpful the whole time. Before we ate, we walked over to Santa and striked up a conversation with the kids. He was a great Santa and the kids were open to talking to him. They sometimes can be shy, but not with him! After talking, he asked them what their favorite colors were and pulled some small toys from a bag. This was such a nice surprise for the kids and they were excited to take a photo with Santa :) The menu was great and was so hard to choose what to get. I settled on the classic breakfast they had with a mimosa and the kids had the kids meal, Mac n cheese and cheese pizza. We also got them these fun drinks they also offered. I think one was strawberry based and the other was grapefruit based. The server warned us that it has been tart in the past for kids, but we decided to try it anyway. It ended up being good for him at the beginning, but I think it started getting more tart for him so I ended up finishing it for him and I thought it was great! My breakfast was delicious especially the pancakes and the country potatoes. I love the way it was prepared. The eggs were good, but not made in a way I am used to. When the kids food arrived I was surprised how professionally fun they played the food! Sometimes I think restaurants don't put much thought into the kids food, but it actually looked very delicious. The mac n cheese looked like it wasn't made out of a box and the pizza did not look like it was previously frozen. The food came in trays with the fries being my country potatoes, but without the other fix ins and sauce. It also came with a cookie and fruit! Overall, it was an amazing brunch. I had stayed at the Ameswell a few months ago and I didn't expect anything less than my experience there and they always deliver. Such a great property all around. I can't wait to come back :)

Overall, this is a really nice spot with a great theme. It's conveniently located right off the freeway inside the Ameswell Hotel. The staff was on the younger side and service took a bit longer than expected, but everyone was friendly. Unfortunately, the food was a miss for us. We came for Christmas brunch and tried the burger, avocado toast, pancakes, fried chicken, and a kids' meal. Nothing really stood out, and we wouldn't return just for the food.

Great interior and nice patio area to have brunch. Food was good - fries could be more crispier and the salad could be freshier considering the price. The best was fruit yogurt. Service was overall great. Food took about 20min to come out.

Unbelievably bad service. We ordered the Roger Burger and as seen in the picture, the menu clearly states the 'salt roasted fries' were part of the burger and the there would be a choice of side. I think any logical person would interpret it that way. However when our order came out, no fries were included (the side we chose was). When i asked about it, they disputed and said the fries were one of the sides. They said by choosing a side (one of the choices in the menu) I basically replaced the fries. As shown in picture, i think it's pretty clear fries are part of order and the side is separate. Yet despite this logical interpretation, we were refused the fries. Despite us raising valid concerns, we were stonewalled with 'you can talk to my manager' (who conveniently was unavailable/in an interview). This is such a minor item (fries), yet this restaurant chooses to treat their customers this way. Very unfortunate.

My friend suggested this restaurant to celebrate my birthday, and I took a look at yelp and saw the positive reviews and decided to check it out. It is located in the Ameswell Hotel. We went on a Friday night, ubered there and it was super packed. They tried to seat us at the table right by the door which we didn't like at first since the draft and wind kept coming in. We asked to get moved to a further table and they got us in even though there was some company event that night and most tables were reserved. They were still able to accommodate us which made the night start off right. Inside there was band singing live for us which made the ambiance much more fun. The interior was modern, chic, and in the middle was the bar that glowed! So cool! For the 4 of us this is what we ordered to share: Snacks: Brussel Sprouts $11 (4/5) Nice flavor and slight crisp to the exterior of the brussels sprouts Crab Rangoon Mozzarella Sticks $16 (5/5) If you know me and my love for cheese, you MUST get this so oeey and yummy. Roasted Cauliflower $12 (4/5) I'm not a big cauliflower eater as I prefer broccoli, but this was super tasty also because the cheese sauce on top duh and some yummy toppings! Entrees: Crispy Rice Salad $16 (4/5) A nice mix of various veggies and herbs to get that super crunch with cucumber, edamame, and cabbage, topped with a vinaigrette, and lemongrass crispy rice! Now that we got all our recommended vegetable servings out the way. On to more good stuff! Gnocchi $24 (4/5) Delicious pillowy gnocchi with tomatoes in a creamy vodka sauce Chicken Katsu $28 (4/5) Super moist panko crusted chicken breast on top a curry, rice, and slaw on the side. Can't go wrong this this since the chicken was cooked perfectly. Desserts: Sticky Toffee Pudding $11 (5/5) This is one of my favorite desserts ever and usually when I see it on a menu I have to try. Roger bar did not disappoint me and you can taste the deep rich warm gooey flavors that balanced well with the vanilla gelato on the side. Chocolate + Coffee $13 (4/5) Gooey brownie and coffee gelato. I think after eating the sticky toffee pudding I would go with that one instead since I overloaded on my chocolate for the day. Overall, they're both very satisfying. We had an amazing time at Roger bar. Service was great and it a fun place to hang, grab a bite, and a drink, and sing along with the band. I would definitely come back to try the other dishes I didn't get to!

I came here to listen to some live music from Ingrid Pontes. The singer was amazing as was the ambience at Roger Bar, which is part of the Ameswell Hotel. I ordered a pina colada kombucha which was quite refreshing. The bar is spacious and there is a nice outdoor area for kids to play in. I highly recommend recommend the service and the place!

The ambiance was great, and I really liked the indoor-outdoor feel. The food and cocktails were average--good, but not worth the price. Since it's located in the Ameswell Hotel, it's convenient for guests, but I expected the food to be better. The portions were also a bit small.

Great spot with nice ambiance in Mountain View. Ample parking nearby and bike racks if you're biking over. There's also live music on Fridays and Saturdays and parking validation if needed. Service is friendly and they come by often enough (especially just before happy hour ends). Happy hour is 15% off everything which is nice, as the prices are higher than what I would expect for the place but the 15% discount makes it a great place to go. This time, I grabbed the chicken katsu and a Josephine Zero mocktail. The katsu was hearty but lacked any noticeable spice to it. The Josephine Zero was great, and I've enjoyed the other mocktails Roger has (there's a lot of mocktails!) The crab rangoon mozzarella sticks were great. Would recommend getting them.

Solid food! Fun drinkies. Cool ambiance. Great for small parties and the shareables are pretty good for big parties as well. The outside lawn has some games like cornhole and giant jenga. The hotel connected is always pretty quirky. I'd recommend this place to stop by or for casual birthday dinners with friends!

(Ryan Reynolds voiceover) The vibe is hidden chic getaway. Anna warmly greeted and served us. Crispy Rice Salad w/ Felafel! Wow! Felafels were light and flavorful! NY Striploin. Excellent! Broccollini perfectly charred Chicken Katsu. Perfect breading. The curry is fabulous! No. 2 Adaptogenic. It's got zing! Guava Fizzler. A repeater! Light airy fare that hits the spot! Fusion California! Would order everything again! Thanks, Anna! Woohoo!

    Classic breakfast over medium eggs

I wanted to like this place it's a great area. It's open you can sit inside or out. The mimosa was strong which I don't mind. The service is the downfall of this experience. We were sat pretty quick but after that forgotten. Multiple people came by after getting a mimosa and ordering food we waited and waited. We got our food and it was the wrong order and we let someone know. we watched it get taken to two other tables before getting it to the right place. After eating we kept waiting and waiting until we had to wave someone down. This is so frustrating because no one checked in on us. The sandwich was good too much egg in my opinion but was cooked well and had good flavor the potatoes were different in a good way. Savory spicy flavor. The classic breakfast was ok eggs a bit over cooked for being over medium. Nothing special the fruit assortment was good and tasted fresh. We love staying at the hotel and finally got to try the restaurant but we're very disappointed by our experience. we don't feel like it is worth the price and the service was not something we felt like we want to experience again.

    Fries. Too thick
    Olee L.

Parking $10/hr at the structure! Ridiculous pricing! First 3 hours is free but I stay longer. Food is ok. Appetizers are good. Do order cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, deep fried mushrooms. No not order their fries. Not skinny fries more like rounds of thick cut potato. Entree are not good. Short rib is dry. Fish is fishy. Ambience is good with live music.

    Is there a kids menu?

    Yes!

    Do they have organic options?

Do you take dinner walk-ins for a group of around 4 people or are reservations needed?

What is the update on live music? I inquired a long time ago and was told the city of Mountain View put a stop on live outdoor music, and was considering put it back into place and to keep checking in.

Unfortunately, we do not have live music back yet. We are working with the city of Mountain View and hope that we will be able to have good news soon!

I came here recently with three girlfriends, and we shared a variety of dishes, all 5/5! * Avocado Dip + Plantain chips: great combo with plantain chips instead of usual tortilla chips * Wood-fired Eggplant + Carrot hummus, Tzatziki: adored the carrot hummus! * Shrimp Salad - absolutely delicious with crispy shrimp, avocado, quinoa, mandarins in a lime-herb vinaigrette. Outstanding. * Disco Fries: not your average French fries! Loved the pork sausage and pickled red onions, wonderfully tart savory flavor. *Sautéed green beans - next level green beans with a creamy vinaigrette and chopped cashews *Grilled Corn: spiced coconut, cotija and tajin. Delicious! *Red Pepper Bread: melts in your mouth I think we finished everything we couldn't help ourselves. It was so delicious! Really didn't have much room for dessert, but we had to splurge and check it out so we decided to share two plates: *Pandan Flan: I love flan, and this was phenomenal! The pandan caramel paired perfectly with the yogurt crème, and the coconut rice crunch and strawberries added texture. And, the plating was fabulous! *Mango Sticky Rice: the presentation alone was incredible. Best I've ever had. Next level! This is a must! Definitely worth getting the umami fries as they were seasoned to perfection. A perfect starting side! Horsefeather is a perfect brunch spot to stop by and try in this Old Town and Country Palo Alto plaza. I have never heard of this chain nor in their other locations before and was definitely satisfied afterwards with their great dishes and their aesthetically modern decorated interior. The dishes here are American so you'd get what you typically get for breakfast from scrambles to French Toast, and we ordered the French Toast, the Chicken and Waffles, and a Salad during our visit here. All of what was ordered was perfect and beautifully plated upon arrival and out of all that was ordered, I have to say the chicken and waffles with their matcha butter & syrup was their standout dish. I have never seen matcha infused with butter but it was perfect and complimented the waffle just right. The chicken was fried and juicy inside and the waffle in general was toasted with just the right amount of crisp on the outside and soft interior. French Toast was a definite close contender too, where the toast was still gooey soft as expected and served with syrup & cream on the side. Salad was good but nothing too extraordinary about it. The staff here were all very nice and on a busy lunch day, I was surprised & pretty sure just lucky was able to get a table in less than 10 min on a Sunday. For weekend brunch, Horsefeather is a perfect spot to visit & enjoy the pre-afternoon before enjoying Palo Alto. Unfortunately, we left regretting that decision. From the start, the experience felt unwelcoming when we were seated with our 3-year-old daughter. There was no single overtly disrespectful moment, but the overall tone and repeated small interactions made us feel like we were being judged for having a child with us. At one point, when our daughter accidentally dropped her fork while playing, the reaction we received came across as frustration, which added to that feeling. We understand not every restaurant is designed for young children, but Broma presents itself as a place for friends and family. Instead, we felt like we had to constantly manage and overcorrect normal toddler behavior, which created stress and took away from what should have been a special occasion. Because of that, we didn't feel comfortable raising concerns during the meal when the server checked in--we were more focused on getting through the experience without drawing additional attention. We were also offered an off-menu item without any mention of price. The menu we were given did not list the smash burger, so when I ordered a double, I had no context for the cost. The final price was a surprise, and we would have made a different decision with that information upfront. The food itself did not match the price point. The "smash burger" was not prepared in the style typically expected, and overall the meal felt underwhelming for the cost. Lastly, the billing was confusing. The paper receipt listed "gratuity," while the digital receipt labeled the same charge as a "service charge," making it unclear whether an additional tip was expected. That lack of clarity does not align with the level of transparency expected at this price point. We don't mind paying for a great experience, especially for meaningful occasions, but this visit did not meet that standard and ultimately left us regretting our choice to celebrate here.

A blend of learned techniques from the Western influence of French and Californian sourcing and techniques, with inspiration in ingredients textures and influence of what high end Asian American dining looks for. I genuinely believe the restaurant has such a high bar and it just takes one big publication to recognize and the fireworks can begin. And I just want to specifically call out the 3 pearls dish. What an incredible dish. Three pearls where you find a match between the crunch and pop between the peas razor clam and roe. The texture between the tapioca and roe. The salinity from the roe to the oysters and clam. The idea of "pearls" with oysters and clams. The whole dish is so harmonized on so many levels. This is a stunning dish. Could be served at the best restaurants in the world.

With a tiny sign denoting the restaurant, not sure if one would be able to find it if they didn't know what they were looking for. The interior feels like a cozy home, with warm lighting and just a few tables, surrounded by bookshelves. You get a clear view of the inner workings of the kitchen and the staff are super friendly. The head chef and wife were also working in the back and come out to greet the customers. The concept is quite appealing - Korean food, reimagined with Western influence. Their ingredients are high quality and many of the vegetables come from the farmers market. The menu when we visited was: *Pearl Trio - Raw oysters and roe on a bed of tapioca. I have never had savory tapioca before, but I really enjoy the pairing. The pearls had just the right amount of bite and absorbed the sauce quite nicely. *Braised pork belly - Extremely tender and glazed with doenjang. *Caviar and razor clam - This was a supplement and I was glad we got it. The base was a pillow of steam egg. The pickles on top paired well with the savory caviar. *Organic chicken and gravy - Probably my favorite dish. Doesn't sound that crazy, but they really executed on the chicken. They injected it with brine so it was very juicy. They also air-dried the skin overnight (kinda like Chinese duck) to create a crispy exterior. The charred green onions on the side was a nice touch *Strawberry tart - The spiral design was eye catching. The strawberries added a nice tart flavor and the sweetness was just right. What I find most impressive is that they change their menu every month. How they maintain the quality despite this change really shows how much work they put into it. And the price point is just a fraction of other fine dining restaurants. I think they are able to do this by keeping the food relatively simple while focusing more on the flavors. I will definitely be coming back to try the other menus.

Just never got around to working a review before. Went early on a Saturday evening recently and was surprised to not have to wait. We split a Bibb lettuce salad that was simple, refreshing and perfect. A tiny pea fritter was the very definition of a small bite, and while it wasn't what I expected, it was crisp and tender. Grilled artichoke was one of the best I have ever had. (Just wish they had been explicit on the menu that it was a half a grilled artichoke). Cocktails were up to their usual high standard -- rye Manhattan for the BF and clarified milk punch for me. I don't get out much these days and I rarely drink alcohol, but is $20 a lot for a cocktail? Or is that normal now? They were great though. BF got the ribeye with morels, which was perfectly cooked and unbelievably tender. I had the burger, which was more exciting than it sounds, dressed with a wild combo of veggies, cheese and bacon while still managing to be harmonious and fresh tasting. Side of fries were crisp and tasty, though not as perfectly hot as I would ideally wish. Because the burger was late coming out, or server (Bernardo I think?) comped us an amazing little dish of vanilla soft serve ice cream with olive oil and sea salt, along with the butterscotch pudding that we ordered. The pudding didn't have the strong butterscotch flavor that I hoped for, but the vanilla ice cream stole the dessert show. OCK isn't a place I can afford often, but I still really like it. I appreciate the creativity of the dishes, the quality ingredients, and the bar. And the old-school shopping center vibe of the Pruneyard is low key festive and garden-like. The interior of the restaurant is kind of standard-industrial modern, but nicely so. Oh, and their glassware is super nice.

All dishes were sub standard save for the squash flower fritters. Milk punch and other cocktails are still worth the visit. Additionally the patio space at night is unmatched in terms of a cozy and perfectly intimate dinner experience. Our server Katherine N was outright hostile and messed up our order on top of having a really rude and unprofessional attitude. Bummer. This used to be the best dining in Pruneyard but its sister restaurant Be.steak.a, as well as Luna and Marafuku Ramen make OCK's bib gourmand look more than undeserved. The rest of the wait staff is lovely, and we look forward to some improvements in the menu intentionality and execution as well as said outlier staff member, as this restaurant has been a favorite in our family for over five years.
