This was a fun choice for a Girls Night Out in one of my favorite downtowns: Mountain View! AMBIANCE: Cute outdoor patio to enjoy a summer night. The interior has a nice minimalist design with a variety of seating (bar vs tables). FOOD: Loved all the dishes we tried! Special points for the Rootstock Flatbread. I would love to come back to try the sandwiches which looked fab and filling. DRINKS: My friends tried the Summer Sips flight and enjoyed all three choices. I had a white wine which was also delicious, light, and easy to digest. SERVICE: This is where we lose a star. Within the 2-3 hours we spent here, both of our waiters clocked out, leaving little to no attention or checking in throughout our dining experience. There was also confusion as each waiter told us different info about what wines were actually available. Lights on our outdoor umbrella weren't turned on until after we had paid the bill (prob 1+ hour after sunset). I would've appreciated more attention for the price.

Absolutely loved this spot! The food was insanely amazing--hands down 5/5. I had the bruschetta (perfectly fresh and flavorful), the pot belly sliders (did not expect ground meat, but it totally worked), and shared a veggie flatbread, which was also delicious. I also tried an olive... and quickly confirmed that olives are still 100% not my thing. But that's on me, not them. Sat outside on a warm late afternoon--gorgeous, but I found myself playing musical chairs with the sun (despite the umbrellas). Pro tip: bring shades or snag a shadier seat if you're going for the patio. I tried a non-alcoholic cabernet for the first time--honestly, it tasted like sour grape juice. Wouldn't recommend that particular option, but I'm definitely coming back to try the real wine next time. All in all: amazing food, chill vibe, and a spot I'll absolutely be returning to.

super cute place for drinking wine. located in downtown mountain view area. theres parking on the street and a parking lot. it was full on a weekday evening! we came for wine tasting. my friend has a membership, which is a good deal so she can bring a +1 each month. i loved the experience. very nice vibes would come back again!

Came to Rootstock for a post-work happy hour; this was a perfect spot with shareable plates , and outdoor seating that was dog friendly. Our server, Ariana, was attentive and gave us great recommendations. Here's what we ordered: - Vinho Verde (Anjos, Portugal): citrusy and slightly fizzy; super refreshing to kick off our evening - Spring Forward wine flight (Seghesio, Vermentino, Russian River; Stag's Leap, Viognier, Napa; Domaine de L'alliance, Sauternes, France): this was a perfect flight for a warm day. I've had the Viognier before so I was excited to have that, but the Vermentino was my favorite. Really bright, slightly sweet, and refreshing. - Tomato & Goat Cheese Bruschetta Crostinis: the flavor was good but the bread was a bit overly dry/toasted. I would have liked a bit more goat cheese too. - Prosciutto Wrapped Dates: these were SO delicious; however the almond on the inside was pretty hard to bite into- proceed with caution! - Monte Sereno Flatbread (goat cheese, prosciutto, pear, onion, arugula, balsamic): I loved the combination of the tart goat cheese, slight sweetness of the pear and balsamic, and the salty kick of the prosciutto. Perfectly cooked! - Seasoned Burrata (w/ olive oil and tomato): simple and tasty; good portion. - Sweet Ponzu Shishito Peppers (w/ garlic and leeks): these really surprised me! The peppers weren't overly spicy, the ponzu was great and I loved that there was a TON of sauce. I also really enjoyed the crispy leeks! Definitely recommend coming to Rootstock, especially on a sunny day, for some great wine and good food! Instagram: @waitingtoeat

Did a fun tasting with my girlfriends and enjoyed the range in bottles. I would've preferred more food options as the menu was a bit more narrow and not diverse but I enjoyed my time here.

Laid back/ elegant wine bar. We came around 5:30pm for a girls day out on a Saturday and there were plenty of tables to choose from, outside and inside. I can def see them getting really busy especially as the weather warms up. Service was very good, Jean took great care of us and answered any questions we had. Very happy we got the chocolate molten lava cake, didn't disappoint!

Been wanting to return to this spot since our first visit was phenomenal. Once again it did not disappoint. This spot is chill and truly gives off a relaxing vibe. The hosts and servers are friendly and very knowledgeable of their menu and wine selections and all the details that came with it. I always have enjoyed their varieties of charcuterie options and they are fresh and delicious. Pairing it with your choice of wine makes it even more appealing. Enjoy my time here and will definitely be returning soon.

It's always 5 pm somewhere, right? I came here with a group of friends for happy hour and board games on a Friday evening. Rootstock has happy hour from 3-6 pm Mon-Fri, so I used this opportunity to sample a couple of drinks and food. I was conflicted between drinks (there was a good wine and beer I wanted to try), so I ended up getting both - super happy I did! I also ordered their Monte Sereno flatbread, and that was a delicious & flavorful, but light, dish. The server came around to inform us about last call for happy hour, allowing us to put in our last orders. The place has both indoor and outdoor seating. Great place to unwind and chill with friends while sampling some great food and drinks. Cost: -Happy Hour (HH) Sparkling Rose = $10 -HH Weekend Vibes IPA = $8 -HH Monte Sereno flatbread = $9

Flight of interesting whites - the choices rotate

I love the rotating flights so you always get to try something new, and I've enjoyed most of their food as well. I love the mix of indoor/outdoor seating, and shout-out to friendly servers like Ben!

Rootstock Wine Bar was always on my list to try. We finally had the special opportunity to try it on a Tuesday 4:45PM. No wait time even up to dinner time. Great place for small finger foods with wine & beer after work, but definitely a once in a while thing since it is on the pricier side. We had outdoor seating and our group of 4 (double date) chilled there for some time. The women had wine and the men had beer. Simple. The two flatbreads we ordered were Rootstock Flatbread and Monte Sereno Flatbread; highly recommended. Wonderfully prepared. Same with the flavorful banh mi-styled sliders.

Came here to check out a friend's art that was showing there. It was nicely presented and look great there Nice wine bar, good selection. Like the price of the 'to go' more than 'restaurant' Service was friendly. Good was surprisingly very good. Ended up eating there, had flat bread and sliders both were very good. Other items look good too. Will definitely be back

The interior is more dimly-lit, with large TVs and some comfy couches. This is an official spot to watch 49ers games so if you're a sports fan definitely note this one down. I liked that the service was helpful but not overbearing. Our waiter was able to recommend two different red wines for my friend and I really enjoyed the vinho verde I had. We ordered the charcuterie board to share between the two of us. This was a GREAT portion and came with a huge basket of sliced French bread. Perfect size to snack and graze on during the night. The bill came out to $53/pp incl. tax+tip for: 3 drinks total + 1 charcuterie board. It was definitely pricey in my opinion but I did really like my wine selection. Overall, great spot to hangout without a rushed vibe. Friendly service and easy eats.

I ordered the savvy spritz wine cooler and my friend ordered the cherry lavender rose. I loved that the spritz wasn't too artificial tasting since a lot of places tend to be. I wish it would've been a little stronger but I get that it's more of a fun cocktail wine that's meant to be light. The food here was insane. We ordered the Margherita flatbread and while it's simple the quality was great and the cheese was super good and had a nice pull. The vibe here is great it feels very safe having mostly had women patrons. The music was nice and definitely gave it a special vibe that you don't get just anywhere, there was a lot of Prince going on and Stevie Nicks ( I love). I'll definitely be back soon! Also the owner was super friendly and seemed like he was happy to be there.

For the main dish, I got the Penne con Pollo. The dish was a bit bland in my opinion and was not really memorable. My dish was one of the last ones to come out and before it came out, a server had come around with a bowl of parmesan, offering it to those who already got my order. However, since I got my dish after, I never got the chance to ask for parmesan. For dessert, I got a slice of tiramisu, which I also thought was okay. There was uneven amounts of lady fingers (took a photo of the better side but the opposite side was mainly just cream). Probably could use a bit more dusting of cocoa powder as well. I did feel that the service felt a bit rushed and disorganized (such as forgotten utensils), though it may have been a one off day.

I would say it feels like a tavern for wealthy noblemen in 1800s England. Allow me to say where it fell short for me, and then I'll sing my praises. The wine... tasted like wine. I don't have a particularly refined palate when it comes to that. The charcuterie board was a collection of expensive items that I am personally not into: miniature pickles (too sour), meat pâté (bland), and what I think were pickled red peppers. There was no cheese, which was highly disappointing; however, if that style of charcuterie suits you, go for it. The music did not match the ambiance at all. They really should play piano or smooth jazz, because the 2010s pop was honestly annoying. DESPITE ALL OF THIS, the crowd was the real pull.
