Bloom & Vine is a beautiful restaurant with playful, feminine details throughout, from the floral light fixtures to the chopsticks. The entire space feels thoughtfully designed and makes a great setting for a girls' brunch, celebratory dinner, or stylish night out. For drinks, I ordered the Matcha Silk. It tasted more like a sweet whiskey sour than a matcha cocktail, so I would have preferred a stronger matcha flavor and a little more balance. The Peking duck was the highlight of the meal. The duck was cooked well, and the skin was flavorful, although it could have been slightly crispier. The pancakes and accompaniments, including the green onions, cucumber, and hoisin sauce, arrived noticeably later than the duck, so the timing could be improved to avoid confusion and ensure the dish is enjoyed as intended. Of the dim sum dishes, the crab xiao long bao stood out. The dumplings had even pleats and a good amount of soup inside. Unfortunately, the ginger-vinegar dipping sauce was mistakenly served with the har gow and arrived later, so we were not able to enjoy the xiao long bao in the traditional way. The har gow was fairly standard and difficult to justify at the price, while the siu mai contained a few tough tendon pieces that were unpleasant. The walnut shrimp was delicious, and the sous vide beef ribs had a wonderfully tender texture. However, our ribs arrived cold, which took away from the dish. Overall, Bloom & Vine has a lot of potential. The atmosphere is lovely, and several dishes were genuinely enjoyable, but there are still some service-timing and consistency issues to work through. With a few adjustments--particularly to the dim sum quality, pricing, and execution--I could see this becoming a very solid spot.

Additional $12 to use leftover bones to make this soup dish.

I have a go-to place for the traditional Peking duck, but after I learned that Bloom & Vine offers it as well, I decided to try it out. The Shanghai and crab roe soup dumpling was surprisingly good. The skin was thin, the meat was bursting in flavors and juices. The black lava buns looked exactly like the frozen ones from Ranch, but I had never had one with such soft buns. The beef chow fun was small in size and it was pretty plain. I came mainly for the duck and although the whole duck came with two plates of meat and a good amount of pancakes, it was quite disappointing. The duck lacked flavor, was dry and the skin wasn't crispy(which is the whole idea of the Peking duck) at all. It was a bit ridiculous to be charge extra to use the remaining duck bones for either the duck soup or another seasoned dish. I did like the convenience of being able to reserve a table through Yelp and we went while the Fifa finals were playing on their tvs so everyone in the restaurant was super lively.

Very pretty restaurant with solid food options. The presentation of the food is very good as well. The peking duck is the main feature. It was presented well and priced similar to other restaurants in the area ($48 for a half duck). It was pretty tasty. The cantaloupe sticks were an interesting inclusion but went well with it. I wish the skin was a little bit crispier. The cabbage was really good but pricey at $18 for what it was.

We recently visited this restaurant specifically for the Peking duck and unfortunately, came away with mixed feelings. On the positive side, the restaurant is attractive, the staff was friendly and attentive, and the overall service was very good. The pricing felt reasonable for the quality of the restaurant, though perhaps a little on the higher side. We enjoyed the atmosphere and appreciated how well we were treated throughout the meal. Unfortunately, the Peking duck itself was disappointing. When it arrived at the table, it looked beautiful...golden brown with the "appearance" of crisp, perfectly rendered skin. However, the experience didn't match the presentation at all! . The skin was soft and chewy rather than crisp, and it was extremely and discustingly oily. Simply picking up a piece left my fingers coated in grease, and squeezing even a small piece of skin caused oil to drip out. Again, the duck appeared crispy, but it certainly didn't eat that way. One thing that stood out was how quickly the duck arrived after we ordered, about five minutes. While I certainly appreciate prompt service, that timing struck me as unusually fast for a signature dish like Peking duck. Combined with the condition of the skin, it made me wonder whether the duck had been sitting for some time before being served. That's what made the experience particularly disappointing. Proper Peking duck is famous for its thin, crisp skin and rich flavor, and based on the appearance, it looked like it was going to deliver exactly that. Unfortunately, the texture and excessive grease overwhelmed what should have been the highlight of the meal. I want to emphasize that this isn't a criticism of the restaurant as a whole. The service was excellent, the restaurant itself is very nice, and we enjoyed the overall dining experience. If the duck had been served with truly crisp, properly rendered skin, this review would likely have been very different. I'd be willing to return and try other dishes, but based on this visit, the Peking duck did not live up to expectations.

Bets on how long Bloom & Vine's "grand opening" sign will be up for?! IFYKYK. One of the Chinese restos near me has had their "grand opening" sign up since before the pandemic. The sign is crusty and dusty but they're still here so that says a lot. (Leaving the grand opening sign up is a symbol of good fortune and prosperity.) Bloom & Vine is the third resto to open in this space in three years. Despite the name, no flowers for sale here. I heard this was supposed to be the third NorCal location of LA's MIAN but the owner decided to pivot to a new concept specializing in Beijing Peking Duck. Indoor and outdoor seating available. We called for rezzies but they're now available on Yelp. While making rezzies, they suggested that we put a duck on hold. M E N U Beyond their signature Peking duck, they describe their cuisine as Modern Asian Fusion. IMO, that label doesn't quite fit - the dishes leaned traditional with a range of regional Chinese cuisines including Sichuan, Canto, Shanghainese, and Jiangsu. Craft cocktail program with AZN inspired cocktails. We happen to come on a day that ALL drinks were 50% off! Whoooo hooo! The pleating was even, and the skin was thin yet sturdy. They didn't provide vinegar and ginger tho. * Har Gow 经典虾饺 (4 pc-$12): https://tinyurl.com/3pptr94f Standard dim sum classic. While the dish featured tender dark-meat chicken with fragrant scallions and crunchy peanuts, the flavor was mild. Personally, I prefer a brighter hit of vinegar and stronger heat. * Peking Duck 北京烤鸭 w/ pancakes, fixings (Half-$48): https://tinyurl.com/yrzkb6xd - 30-45 minutes prep Star of the night! The peking duck's glossy skin was crispy and well-rendered while the meat was tender and nicely gamey. Served with thin housemade pancakes for wrapping along with julienned cucumbers, green onions, and sweet fermented bean sauce. Their twist? Cantaloupe for a deliciously savory and sweet flavor contrast. ** Add ons: https://tinyurl.com/j4x6f42m Usually restos use the leftover duck carcass to make a soup or stir-fry dish that's included with the peking duck. It's a add-on here. - Tofu & Cabbage Duck Bone Soup 豆腐白菜鸭汤 (+$12) Clean, light broth with soft tofu, tender napa cabbage, and goji berries for a hint of sweetness. I wish it had been simmered longer with the bones to develop a richer, more milky consistency. - Salt & Pepper Crispy Duck Bone 椒盐鸭架 (+$12) The duck bones were stir-fried with aromatics and seasoned with what tasted like five-spice for that Canto roast duck flavor. If you enjoy nibbling on the meat, skin, and connective tissue off the bones....this will be your jam. S E R V I C E Very kind and welcoming service from owner and staff. They're obvs they're trying to figure things out tho. Food came out promptly on a Saturday evening. A M B I A N C E Spacious, modern, and chic with indoor/outdoor feels, a large bar, and several TVs with the world cup on. Very IG friendly if that's what you're looking for. Lovely outdoor patio that's closed off to cars but it's right near Caltrains so you can hear the horns and trains passing by. Overall, solid opening with the peking duck being the must order item. The extra plus is the having a cocktail program which is rare for a Chinese resto. I'd love to see them eventually bring more modern, creative twists to their regional Chinese dishes to better align with the concept.

New spot in town! We stopped by Bloom and Vine around noon on a Friday, and it was still pretty quiet. We ordered the xiao long bao, chili wontons, and dry pot stir-fried organic cauliflower. Overall, the flavors were quite good, and everything tasted fresh and well-seasoned. The main downside was the wait. It took over 30 minutes for all of our dishes to arrive, and they came out one by one instead of together.

Such a delicious meal, with a beautiful setting! Definitely a great addition to Castro Street. This is an elevated dining experience, with gorgeous decor and plenty of natural light. The service was speedy and efficient. All the dishes I tried were delicious and clearly done well. My absolute favorite was the Chongqing chili chicken - it had great flavor and was perfectly spicy. I really enjoyed the fried rice as well. It had that signature wok-fried flavor. The honey walnut shrimp was probably the best I've ever had. It had a delicious glaze, and the shrimp itself was super juicy. The Peking duck was phenomenal. The slices were super tender, with a crispy skin. It paired well with refreshing side vegetables. The menu is expansive, with plenty of amazing options. I can't wait for my next visit!

It's was just okay. Nothing special about the food. Peking duck was just ok. I had better Peking duck at other places. Duck was lukewarm and skin was not crispy. However, the wrap was hot and good. The razor clams were chewy and I don't think it's fresh. The place was noisy. They allowed a party of 10 was yelling and screaming inside the restaurant. It ruined the whole experience for us. Services were good but not great.

Absolutely fantastic dinner for our party of three. We ordered the Peking duck, xiao long bao, and black truffle fried rice every dish was rich in flavor and beautifully prepared. The service from Morgan and Kendall was attentive and welcoming throughout the night. We were also surprised with a special dessert of chocolate dumplings, and the white chocolate ones were unforgettable , they melted instantly in the mouth. A perfect 10/10 experience for tonight's dinner. Highly recommend.

I have been wanting to try this place after I saw it social media and finally last Saturday my family and I were able to go. We called the restaurant for reservations since the online one says they don't have any availability. At first no one answered coz maybe they were busy but they were nice enough to call me back. There were 10 of us and they asked us if we wanted to pre-order the peking duck and we did. We were seated right away when we came. After we ordered the food came really quick whick made me wonder if they were pre-made. We ordered Beef Chowmein, Beef Truffle Fried Rice, Peking Duck fried Rice, Garlic String Beans(5/5), Crab XLB, Pork XLB, Golden Shrimps, Siumai, Pork Buns, Lava Buns and The Peking Duck. What stood out for me was the String Beans and the Peking Duck. The rest was really underwhelming. I was really looking forward to Crab XLB but it still didn't match the taste we were looking for. It didn't really taste like there was crab. For desserts we ordered Chocolate XLB, it was okay too nothing special. We were told that they just opened about a month ago so maybe they're still adjusting. The service was a little slow but Alan was very nice and apologetic. I think the place is very chic and cozy.

We dined here at 6 PM on a Friday night, walked in without a reservation but still luckily got a table right away. This restaurant is absolutely beautiful and has a perfect date-night atmosphere and setting. I had a very great experience here and couldn't wait to share!!!!!! What we ordered: Cocktails: Lotus Frequency and Matcha Silk. The Matcha Silk was definitely prettier, but the Lotus Frequency was my favorite in terms of taste. Both were excellent. Crab Roe Soup Dumplings: These were amazing. They arrived hot but burned my mouth (thanks god), and their flavors were on another level. I've had xiao long bao at many restaurants around the Bay Area, but these here truly stood out. You have to try them! Half Peking Duck: The besttttttt! In many other restaurants, you have to order even 1 day in advance, but here you can simply walk in and order Peking duck. It took only 20 minutes for my food to arrive, which just perfectly timed since we were finishing the soup dumplings by that time. The duck was exactly what I was hoping for. At $48 for a half duck, it's reasonably priced and enough for two people. The skin was crispy, the meat was tender and juicy, and the sauce tied everything together. It was so delicious that I couldn't stop eating. I also loved the service. Everyone was friendly and made us feel very well taken care of throughout the meal. Highly recommend this place, and I'll definitely be coming back next time with my mom!

The service was friendly and helpful, servers were attentive! Overall, the atmosphere was inviting, bright and lively. However, the food was average to good. We ordered the hainai chicken lunch special and a combo 2 roasted meat for lunch. The hainai chicken consisted of only wings, skin and bones, hardly any eatable meat parts. Where is the meat?? Very disappointing since I did not get to try much of the chicken. The combo plate cost more than price listed depends on what 2 types of meat was ordered (which was not stated on menu nor told by the server). Flavor was ok but duck hardly had any meat. I would like to go back and try other food but if the quality provided is an indication like the chicken then I probably would not go back.

The location is right at the end of a street so there are constantly cars making u turns and coming in and out of parking. So sitting outside isnt terribly ambient. IDK, it was truly a fine experience but I have no desire to go back.

The Wine Room was a nice stop in the evening for a nightcap, with some bites from their menu and a…read morenice wine list. We stopped by before turning in, ordering the Fromage du Jour (a selection of domestic and imported cheeses), a Charcuterie plate (with thinly-sliced cured meats, pate de chevreuil, stoneground mustard, cornichon, and purple cabbage kraut), and the Marinated Olives. There is eating both in- and outside, but I recommend in dining al fresco to people watch. The place is small, but it gets busier, as it does open later in the day (4 PM to midnight)! Staff and the bar staff were friendly. +wine and cheeses +friendly staff +dine al fresco

There is plenty of parking nearby, both street and parking lots. Here's what our party of 3 had on a recent visit: Appetizer - duck potstickers with hoisin dipping sauce -- wonderful, I could have ordered 2 of these plates as an entree and been happy Mains - I had the pan-seared scallops with mashed peas, spinach, capers etc. Very good -- my only complaint is it only included 3 small scallops. For the price there should have been 4 or 5. Fried chicken with mashed potatoes, sautéed kale. This was delicious, we don't often order fried chicken but this was cooked just right. My sister had the goat cheese salad as her main, it was very good with little balls of fried goat cheese. Drinks: Good wine selection, I had my usual glass of Savee Sea Sauvignon Blanc. Dessert: We split an amazing dessert, the Sticky Toffee pudding Sundae which is caramel and vanilla gelato with a toffee sauce, whipped cream, pecans-- so good! next time I"m getting one for myself.
