Located in Main Street Cupertino, parking is plentiful and easy to find. The ambiance is quiet and relaxing. Crispy pork belly (5/5): outside was really crispy and the inside was very tender. The garlic flavor was also very good. Overall, Pineapple Thai has some very delicious food. The ambiance is relaxing and nice and service is good.
Came here on the weekend with a group of 11 people. We just want to have a good gathering and eat some Thai food, but their unacceptable service totally screw up the vibe! We order the green papaya salad. You can look at the attached photo this is the photo from their official website where it clearly come with shrimp and lettuce. However, yesterday they tell us they no longer serve with shrimp and replace the lettuce with a big uncut raw cabbage! That is totally unacceptable! It look exactly like a big cutting board on the plate for serving. We very friendly ask the waiter why it look so different from the official picture, and if they can maybe cook the cabbage just a little bit to soften it because we are uncomfortable to eat raw cabbage. Then the restaurant manager come over. So mean! The manager just tell us, "All Thai eating like this!" and run away with a black face! Hello? Customer order food based on your menu photo, we don't dig in to the cuisine history before we come eat! This very unfriendly response from the manager totally ruin our whole party mood. To be honest, the food in general is just acceptable. But do NOT order the Duck garlic noodle. The noodle was way too soft. Even though food is average, I will definitely put this place on my black list. We don't want to risk the vibe and pay 20% tip just to get black face and bad attitude. By the way, the restaurant had lots of empty table, and I see they get so many 1-star review in the last 6 months. Now I know the reason. Anyway, black list!
In a well decorated restaurant where a meal is close to $40 and 20% service charge is mandatory, I had better expectations. First the food. We ordered the beef mango and the duck garlic noodles. The beef mango doesnt come with rice so we had to pay extra for a small bowl. Taste was good but not fantastic. Duck was fine as well, however the noodles' texture was like an overcooked instant noodle that had dried up. We couldn't finish the noodles. We also tasted a few other things ordered by the group and none of us thought it was gorgeous but merely average and not worth the extra price. Second, the service. Our group ordered the papaya salad but it came entirely different from what their official picture portrayed. Ingredients were different, and the waitress explained it doesnt come with shrimps any longer. Fine, however we were not expecting the raw cabbage on the side, and some couldn't eat raw cabbage. We asked to have the cabbage steamed or changed to another type of vegetable. Be reminded we had never touched it when we made the request. What we received was a snoobish conversation about how that was originally served in Thailand and there is no way they would steam the cabbage for us. One of the waitress just turned her shoulder and took the dish away with a straight face. Even they offered to remove that from our bill after a lot of fuss with 3 different people, the vibe was ruined. What happened to customer service etiquette anymore?! 2 stars was for the server which tried to help us talk to the owner/ manager, otherwise it would have been 1.
If you like Thai food with good service, this is one of them. I also like the location of this restaurant. It's a nice area to walk around post a good food coma. In the order, there was Chicken wings (8/10) which was really tasty but for some reason the wings were thinner than usual. Pineapple fried rice with chicken (9/10) was really good and enough shareable portion. Recommend it only if you don't mind pineapple in your fried rice. Green curry with tofu (10/10) was very less sweet and perfectly spicy. With Jasmine rice it went really well Pad Thai with tofu (7/10) was a bit more sweet than I am used to. Overall, a great Thai restaurant. We went for a birthday dinner and the server surprised us with Mango Sticky rice (10/10) to end the meal.
Came here for dinner and ordered a feast! The seafood dishes here are absolutely incredible and beautiful for photos. The grilled giant prawns were spectacular-perfectly cooked, smoky, and paired amazingly with the green dipping sauce. The Pad Thai was also a solid highlight, packed with a generous portion of plump, fresh shrimp and great traditional flavors. However, a couple of the rice and meat dishes fell a bit short. The beef curry sauce had a nice flavor, but the beef texture was unfortunately overcooked and quite tough to chew. We also tried the pineapple fried rice, which looked great but tasted a bit too dry and lacked the fluffiness we were hoping for.
This is one of my favorite Thai restaurants in the Bay Area! This was probably my 5th time coming here and I think a review is long overdue! First off, my go to orders are: - Pad Thai (spicy/ medium spice) - Nam Jim Jaew w/ Pork - Papaya salad - Sweet Mango rice - Thai Tea Food here tastes so fresh and flavorful! I'm not typically a salad person but i will eat a salad here! lol I think it has to do with the spices and sauce infused with the salad + it's proteins! When you eat here expect to pay a certain amount- food is pricey but it's worth it for the freshness and service! On a nice day, I recommend eating outside- it's such a vibe and they have lots of shade for those hot summery days. They had the FIFA game playing on their screen outdoors! Pineapple Thai, is something you gotta try!

Be sure to check out their lunch special, they're definitely worth considering! I ordered the Pad Thai since it's one of my favorite dishes and my go-to benchmark for judging a Thai restaurant. It did not disappoint. In fact, it's one of the better Pad Thais I've had in Cupertino. I also ordered a Thai tea, which was delicious. Knowing how sensitive I am to caffeine, I planned to take the rest to go, but later found out they don't offer to-go cups. Not wanting to waste it, I ended up finishing the drink before leaving. Overall, the food, service, and ambiance were all solid. I'd definitely come back to explore more of the menu and I wouldn't hesitate to order the Pad Thai again.
Randomly picked this restaurant for a Mother's Day lunch. Since we did not have a reservation, we were assigned seats by the bar. We ordered two dishes from the Mother's Day special menu -- the Green Curry Short Rib and the Surf & Turf Pad Thai -- as well as the Pixel Wings from the regular menu. I have to say, the Green Curry Short Rib was so, so, so good. The short rib was incredibly tender and had a rich coconut milk aroma. It was the best short rib I have ever had. The chicken wings were also delicious -- crispy on the outside while juicy and tender on the inside. Compared to the other two dishes, the Pad Thai was pretty average. Overall, I will definitely come back. I really hope they add the Green Curry Short Rib to the regular menu.
Loved everything about it - location, outdoor seating, service and food :) Its located right next to LazyDog (which is also great for American cuisine) and koi palace. there is a parking garage (free!) nearby 2 mins walk away and lots of street parking as well. The outdoor seating is inviting on a sunny afternoon and service was friendly. In $120 (after tip) we got: - papaya salad - 5/5 - loved the tangy spicy nutty salad and it lives up to the hype. Soooo good :) - chicken Penang curry - 5/5 - comes with portion of steamed white rice and was flavorful, not watery and lots of chicken :) - green curry tofu - 5/5 - creamy and loaded with veggies and comes with rice - pad thai chicken - 4/5 - i wish it was a little less sweet - rockfish - 5/5 - amazing texture, spicy and delicious. It also comes with a side of rice. This is owned by the same person who owns "must be thai" and i love that too. This is a more fancy place to sit and eat which is great :) Definitely coming back for thai iced tea and desserts!!
Very cool place, with a clear pineapple motif! There is a lot of indoor and outdoor seating. The service is fast and always happy to make suggestions. The food was awesome, generous portions. Very tasty. Will be back again!
Standard Thai food for the most part. A little pricey but it's in main street Cupertino so the vibes are nice. Pad see ew 4/5 - good and standard for this dish. Pork jowl 4/5 - I'm not a huge pork jowl eater but this dish was still tasty. The pork jowl was pretty tender
Pineapple Thai is in a great location & I'm sure it draws a large crowd on weekdays from Apple park. However our last visit left us quite disappointed with our meal. The vegetable pastries were hot on the outside, but some of the stuffing was still cold. Despite this issue, the pastry itself was flaky and tasty. What truly shocked us was the portion sizes of the other dishes. The green curry was mostly broth, with barely any chicken. The sticky rice came in a beautiful container, but it was the smallest portion of rice we have ever been served at a restaurant. The Pad Thai was equally disappointing. The flavor was okay, but there was nothing substantial on the plate. In these challenging times, restaurants are trying to cut costs, but when customers feel they're not getting their money's worth, they won't return.
Came here on a Friday for dinner and thought it was average. We made a reservation online and when we arrived it was pretty empty but quickly filled up later. The interior is very nicely decorated and it's located conveniently on Cupertino Main Street. They have indoor and outdoor seating, and we chose to seat inside. There, we noticed that the chairs were super squeaky. If the chair moved the WHOLE restaurant could hear it screech lol I was pretty disappointed by the service. Even though it wasn't super busy when we arrived, we had to be the one to call the staff for everything, like ordering, water refills, and getting the check. At our table, people were constantly missing things, like forks or water. The food was decent as well. We tried the beef jerky (good), the pad Thai (good), and the pork jowl (okay). The beef jerky was surprisingly tender and had a nice sauce pairing. The pad Thai was rly flavorful and the portion was decent. The pork jowl included rice, which had a garlicky flavor, but I thought the meat was a bit dry and not as fatty as other jowl dishes.

Love this place. I go all the time specifically for their pork and lychee salad. Get this if you are coming for the first time. I normally don't like coconut milk, but but their Tom Kha was surprisingly good. One area of improvement would be the spice levels. When I request spicy, it's more of a mild. Cute restaurant, cute servers, but I mostly do takeaway. read more

Met up for some Thai in the Bat Area, excellent place. All the food flavorful without being excessively salty. Good service, they are very busy place so they are spread a little thin. High energy, close tables, not a romantic place, but a fun place a good amount of indoor and outdoor seating available. An excellent free parking garage adjacent. Would certainly come here without hesitation. We had: Pineapple Iced Tea (refreshing but probably not a favorite) Lychee That Tea (refreshing but probably not a favorite) Tom Kha - Chicken (rich and flavorful would definitely re-order) Beef Mango (very good, but I'd probably try a different dish) Pad See U - Chicken (excellent chew on the noodles, would re-order) Jasmine Rice (it's rice) read more

We came here again for happy hour. The happy hour menu has changed compared to about a year ago but a few items are still available. Food prices range from $6 to $10. The beef jerky was a bit tougher than before, but the Pixel Wings were still delicious. The papaya salad is no longer on the menu, but we were still able to order it. We also tried some new items, including the Gai Gor Lae chicken skewers and the crispy Pad Thai. Both were definitely worth trying. Happy hour drinks went up a few dollars and are now $10 each, but still worth it in my opinion. Everything came out to around $70. Not bad at all. Our server was very nice and friendly, and I always love the vibes inside. read more

I liked the food, it tastes very good. I also like the decoration, the table lamp. It didn't take very long for us to get the food we ordered. The price was also fair. We enjoyed this meal until we got back home and started having diarrhea. Not sure if it's food hygiene issue, or it's just our stomach did not like the spices ( I like Thai food in general though). read more

We had a lovely Valentine's Day dinner at Pineapple Thai. The service was great, with the staff being attentive and welcoming. We really enjoyed their creative drink menu, which added a nice celebratory touch to the evening. As for the meal, the food was delicious and perfect if you prefer milder flavors, as nothing we ordered was overly spicy. We asked for chili sauce as we like our Thai dishes spicy. Didn't take many pictures as we were enjoying our time together. Overall, wonderful experience that made for an enjoyable date night Ambiance: 10/10 Service: 10/10 Food: 9/10 Music: 10/10 Seating: indoor (little tight for big groups) & outdoor (plenty) Parking: Ample, free parking available Price: $30 -35 per person read more
Upscale Thai. Nice ambiance. Low on Taste. Calamari starter was well done. But the Sesame Chicken was a dessert with deep fried chicken in a extra sweet sauce, couldn't finish. The 38$ Rockfish dish was pretty average, deep fried with a tangy sauce. Everything seemed sweet. Maybe one should try the Tom Yum & Green Curry instead. The outdoor seating was nice & warm(with heaters). Service was friendly but slow. Disappointing Valentine's Day dinner. read more

Came with a few friends for their Tuesday Happy Hour deal - Happy Hour from 4 until close! It was 2 cocktails for the price of 1 so my friend and I each got a New York Whiskey Sour. We didn't sit at the bar but I will say the drink looked great when they served it to us... and it tasted better! It was a little busy when we came at around 7:30ish so if we sat inside we would've had to wait 10-15 minutes. Will have to try the food next time! read more

The food is very good. My husband had the mango beef and I had the green chicken curry. It was so good!!!! we also really enjoyed the drinks. We had a sunrise on Saturn, Circus elephant, and a raindrops in Bangkok. I do recommend this place super cool vibe, nice servers, and it has an outdoor seating area. read more
I've been to Pineapple Thai now twice, and one time it was fantastic and the second time it was kind of hit or miss. Generally I'd say this is still a very good Thai food spot. Recently we ordered the pixel wings, fried pad Thai appetizer, Panang curry with beef and the pad see u. The flavor on the pixel wings is great -- the sauce is light in texture but flavorful with a slight kick, but the meat on the wings felt really skimpy! We were also excited to try the fried pad Thai, but I think we had different expectations based on the waitress' descriptions; this basically felt like a smaller pad Thai dish with some crispy pieces in it (we could've done without this). However, the pad see u here is some of our favorite, and the panang curry was very good. My only gripe on the panang curry is that I felt there was hardly enough meat to share between the two of us. Lastly, we ordered the house wines on happy hour and these were actually two very good local CA selections! We've ordered cocktails here before that were also very good. Our waitress was sweet and service was good, I only felt like we were being rushed out a little bit as we were finishing our meal. Would definitely still come back again and try some other options; the price point is also pretty good here. read more

Mid everything. Service felt like they wanted us to leave even though we were the only other party (there was 5 of us) and it was around 1 PM on a weekday, super chill but it still felt like they wanted us out of there. Food was sooooo mediocre, lowkey puts a bad name on thai food cause whatcwa even going on. Nothing had flavour, gravy for lamb was super watery, the veggie patty was super oily but also somehow dry, the only thing that had a bit of flavor were the tiny wing and curry. Also to add on it was so overpriced for such a small portion size. Drinks just tasted like Kombucha, mid, ok price. It was a pretty decorated restaurant--ill give them that. Overall, find a better place, so many better thai restaurants out there!! read more
Great experience trying Pineapple Thai after bookmarking this recommendation made by a coworker. We were super hungry and popped in around maybe 2PM for a late lunch on a Sunday. we were greeted right away and seated quickly. Ambiance was nice - nicely decorated, cute spot. We sat indoors since it was winter and chilly but the outdoor area is also very nice. * Pad See Ew with Chicken: I really struggled with this one. Flavor wise I would give it 4.5 stars but the way it was served I'm give it 3 stars. I was really disappointed by the lack of green vegetable. It almost looked like they took one piece of Chinese broccoli and sliced it up thin. I would've liked to see at least a few more of these in the dish. The chicken was also very light and sparse, so much so that I actually had to dig around to make sure we were given chicken. * Panang Curry with Beef Flank: 4.8 stars The beef was cooked wonderfully, and the curry was extremely flavorful. There were so many layers to the flavor profile of the curry and it was done real well! It's a little spicy, but nothing too overpowering. would've made this. A five star dish is a little bit more curry sauce. I appreciate the way it was plated because had the beef been sitting in the hot curry sauce the beef would've been overcooked. But, we were scraping the red curry sauce at the end, trying to eat it with our rice and noodles and wish there was a little more. * Pork Jowl Crispy Rice: the pork itself was ok but the flavor on the crust was delicious! Lemongrass came through real strong. The rice was also very good with crispy garlic/onion pieces so it had a delicious flavor profile and paired really well with the curry dish. The table next to us ordered a bunch of items, and those all looked really good. The green curry looked amazing as well as some yellow rice with seafood that almost looked like a paella. I would definitely recommend to try more dishes. It is a little pricey side (as in...you're not getting giant portions for the price) but the quality is there and the flavors hit and we thought the three dishes at $75 was doable for three people. read more

Conclusion: 1. Average food, small portions 2. An exceptionally poor service experience The food here was "acceptable"... nothing particularly bad, but also nothing memorable or worth returning for. The portions were quite small for the price, especially considering the restaurant is located in Cupertino. Even after paying premium-area pricing, you should not expect to leave feeling full. The main problem, however, was the service. One waiter, who may also have been the manager, handled a simple and reasonable request in an unnecessarily dismissive manner. One of our dishes arrived with what appeared to be half of a raw cabbage placed on the plate without being sliced or prepared in any practical way. I have honestly never seen a restaurant serve customers a large, uncut piece of cabbage like that. My friend politely asked whether the cabbage could be lightly steamed because we were not comfortable eating it completely raw. Instead of offering an alternative or explaining the options professionally, he insisted that this was how the dish was served locally. He then walked away with an visibly irritated attitude while my friend was still trying to ask whether something else could be done. A few moments later, he returned and simply announced that the dish had been cancelled. He did not give us an opportunity to modify the order, choose a substitute, or order another dish to replace it. That was the most frustrating part, the problem itself was minor and could easily have been resolved, but his attitude turned it into an unpleasant experience for the entire table. Our group was also charged a 20% gratuity. While automatic gratuity for a large party is understandable, it becomes difficult to accept when the service is dismissive, impatient, and unwilling to handle a basic customer request. This is a restaurant in a nice area, but the overall experience did not match the pricing or the setting. The food was merely average, the portions were small, and one employee demonstrated exactly how poor service can ruin an otherwise ordinary meal. Saw this place last week and wanted to give it a shot and overall it was a pretty good experience. If you like Thai food then this place will do it for you. Staff is very friendly and was pretty quick and they have a happy hour even on the weekends which is pretty impressive. The food and drinks were all top notch. Final Thoughts: 4.00/5 Second time coming here. I wasn't a yelp elite during my first visit, so now I'm back. Simple dinner with my friends here today. We came right at opening time. It was a pretty simple dining experience and dinner today. The food was alright overall and the experience was just of another dinner day. Food: Thai Beef Jerky: 3.0/5 This seemed to be just overcooked beef if you ask me. It was quite tough and I didn't enjoy it in that sense even with my knowledge of it being beef jerky. The sauce didn't make it for me either and it just seemed to be this spicy sauce on the side. The beef jerky itself is seasoned well, so that's a plus. The meat itself is just really hard though and tough to get through. Perhaps this is because the pieces are cut pretty small and thin, so it's on the harder side. Pad See U with Tofu: 3.8/5 This was my dish today. Overall, this dish was quite good. Starting with the pros, the rice paper has this really nice charring on it. This goes for a majority of the dish and not just one or two pieces that got stuck to the pan. The amount of tofu and vegetables mixed in is also optimal because I find other places can be skimpy on that aspect. Balance of vegetables, to noodles, to egg and protein are great. I like the tofu added as protein. You do have options of animal proteins, as well. The texture components are nice with the little charring and then the crunch from the sauteed vegetables. With the flavor, I do think that there is a nice soy sauce flavor to it. My one note is that this dish was quite salty and almost too much for my liking. Perhaps a little more balancing would have done it just fine though for me. Nothing too concerning and perhaps just a preference. Pad Thai with Grilled Beef Flank: 3.8/5 My friend's dish that I tried for reviewing purposes. This dish is made well overall. The sauce of the pad thai is good. The noodles are softer and a little too overcooked for my liking. I like a bite to it and more al dente. For the beef flank, there was an upcharge for this protein option. You do have other protein options. Note that not all of them will have an upcharge. For the extra amount that was charged for this meat though, it didn't seem to meet my expectations. The meat was tender and it was seasoned, but it just wasn't anything spectacular. While seasoned, it felt like just a basic seasoning. Nothing much more to contribute to the dish. One plus though is the amount that they provide. Again, they don't seem to be skimping on the amount that they provide for each plate. Perhaps chicken or tofu are just the more fitting proteins for this dish. Flavor was good and there was a little kick to it. Aesthetics: Small note, but they do a good job with presentation and plating. My eyes really are eating first with each plate. They seem to be assembled in a simple way, but it looks nice and clean upon being brought to the table. --------- Quality: Hot and charred nicely They food came out hot enough and there was nice charring done, so it seems to be made to order. Each item came out at different times, so I'm inclined to believe they're made fresh, which I appreciate. Price: Large price range They have a pretty large price range. The ranges will be from $15 to $30 with some outlier items. Overall, the main dishes will be around $20-$25 per plate, which seems about average these days for a lunch/dinner plate like that. They do provide a hefty plate, so perhaps their prices can be considered normal. Service: Pleasant Very interesting first impression actually. We came just right before opening and when we walked in, there was literally no one manning the front. There was one person eating to which we did not want to bother, but we did stand there until another customer walked in. That did prompt the person eating to call someone from the back though. Perhaps they weren't expecting anyone at the time. Of note, there isn't a bell or anything at the front to notify the employees that someone has come through the door. Overall, they're quite nice and attentive otherwise after being seated. Ambiance: Modern with a touch of fine dining The interior is quite dim lit inside. This gives off somewhat of that fine dining. There are seats outside and their outdoor seats are actually quite nice too on a good day. The first time we went there, we were sitting outdoors and it seemed to be a pleasant experience overall. Location/Parking: Optimal parking available This place is located on Main Street Cupertino Shopping Plaza. There are lot of restaurants and stores here along with some resident apartments. Seems like your average rich area. There are parking structures available along with the parking you can find around the area. This shouldn't be a concern here, but maybe just a little more walking depending on where you choose to park. read more

Tried this spot recently and overall had a great experience. There were a few standout dishes I'd definitely come back for. The sesame chicken was hands down my favorite. Lightly battered (while being gluten free!), super crispy, and not greasy at all. The flavor was balanced, sweet with just a tiny bit of heat. Honestly one of the best sesame chicken dishes I've had in a while. Portion size was generous too. We also ordered the coconut pandan rice, which was bright green with sweet coconut flakes mixed in. It was light, fluffy, and paired really well with the chicken. I wish I had gotten a second order! The green curry was packed with flavor and had just the right amount of richness. The Thai eggplant and bell peppers were cooked well, not overly soft like they usually get in curries. It was a little too spicy for me personally, but if you like heat, it's a solid choice.The pad thai was good, not overly sweet or greasy. Nice texture and a big portion. The peanuts on top gave a great crunch. Service was quick and friendly. There's both indoor and covered outdoor seating. Parking can be easy if you're lucky. There are few spots close by to the restaurant but it's a busy lot. If those are full, there's a parking garage close by. One thing to note, there's a loyalty program where you earn points for every dollar spent, but you have to sign up before you pay. I saw a sign about it when we walked in, but no one mentioned it during the meal or at checkout, so we missed out. Would definitely come back for the seasme chicken and pandan rice. I went here for a quick lunch date. The vibes were good and the service was nice. The place is a bit tight in terms of space. The food is where the stars are deducted. The food was pretty basic for the price to be honest not worth it. In addition I found out they charge more for their dinner menu than their lunch for some of the same items. You have to treat this as an upper-end restaurant though some options are more affordable . The setup is nice here. The portions are moderately small. There were some standouts, namely the crispy calamari, grilled jumbo prawns, and crab fried rice. Otherwise, servers are inattentive, considering the price. Drinks are good here. The presentation is top notch. The duck Asian Glazed Duck Noodles was too fatty. The gai gor lae was soft but could use more caramelization. And overall, most things were not too memorable.
