We had an early dinner here on a Saturday. We were in the area and were just going to check out the menu for fear there would be a long wait time. To our surprise, there was no wait and they were able to seat us instantly. We decided to sit indoors and were seated at the bar. The restaurant was clean and inviting. We were given a menu along with a pencil. I was shocked that we had to write on such a nice paper and it was heavy cardstock. I felt that it was wasteful and not eco friendly. I tried to write lightly so they could reuse it afterwards. But unfortunately, our server wrote over it with a highlighter to confirm our order. So much for trying to conserve paper. We ordered dumpling, fried rice, and chicken. When our dumpling arrived by a kitchen staff, we were shocked how big it was. Our server walked by to check on us and informed us that we received the wrong order. We didn't touch it and informed her, but she said she'd have to throw it in the trash since it already went on the table, so we could enjoy it for free. The fried rice arrived and so did our ordered dumpling. Funny thing is that we actually enjoyed the first dumpling more than the one we ordered. I really liked the fried rice and so did my husband. I'd come back just to order that! By the time the chicken arrived, we were already full so we took a few bites and took the rest home. The food did take some time to arrive, but we did have nice service. If you walk in the front door, you will see the restaurant's gift shop. Some customers were embarrassed when they walked in. They only thought it was a shopping store and not a restaurant. Maybe the set up needs a little modification. Overall, I we enjoyed our meal and would visit again.

[Food] - Hong Kong Pan-Fried Crispy Egg Noodles w/ Chicken ($25): This was alright, but just not what I expect for the price. Overall flavor was bland and not enough wok hei. Their housemade chili oil definitely helped. - Shanghai Xiao Long Bao, Kurobuta Pork (6/$16): The filling was flavorful, but lacked that bouncy texture. Dumpling didn't have that much soup and soup was a bit lackluster flavor-wise. Overall, it was decent, as the thickness of the wrapping was just too thick for me mainly. - Singapore Nonya Style Spicy Chicken Curry w/ Crispy Brussels Sprouts ($25): This was our favorite dish of the meal. Curry was deliciously flavorful. I don't recall any chicken as there were a ton of brussels sprouts. Spice is on the mild side. - Hamachi Jalapeno ($18): Fresh and decent as far as sashimi goes. - Shangri-La ($16): I was hesitant on getting this since it has Gin in it, but I ended up really enjoying it. Love the yuzu flavor! [Service] - Fast, friendly, helpful, attentive [Ambiance] - Casual, modern, open-concept [Overall] - I am being a bit nit picky in my review since I've had a lot of these dishes growing up and have tried these in Asia as well. I think if they lowered the prices a tad, it would be more fair, but I also understand that this is a pricy establishment they're operating at so there's pros and cons. - I do hope they can improve the flavor for the HK noodles since that's a fairly easy fix compared to the XLB wrapper. - Would come back to get the Singaporean Chicken Curry w/ Brussels Sprouts and try other dishes as well.

Food was good, but they were limited in everything else - seemed like they were waiting for a shipment. For example, they were out of some beers and sodas. We came on a weekday around 5pm so it was really quiet and not busy. The service was friendly and quick. There was a lot of seating both indoors and outdoors. The dumplings and curry were both delicious!

Asia Live is located near the high-end restaurant section of the Westfield Mall. This two-story restaurant, opened in the last few months, has high ceilings, a modern look, techie looking interior, and gift shops on both levels selling sauces, books, gadgets, etc... Went here on a Sunday for lunch, had one of their noodle specials (suggest you pass on the Vegetarian Dan Dan noodles as the order is small and was overly dry for a Dan Dan noodle), Xianshengbau (dry...pan fried bun lacking juiciness), Minced Chicken in Lettuce Cups (good but could benefit with a side of Hoisin sauce), and a very, very good redeeming Mango Shaved Ice with Black Sesame Ice Cream. Not sure how Asia Live is going to do in the long run, but a touch up of some of the items is warranted.

After all the advertised hype it really is just an expensive restaurant serving various Asian food items. There's a tiny gift shop upstairs and downstairs and a to go counter. The food itself was decent and service was friendly. But $75 for three dishes and water is waaayyy pricey for something you can get for a fraction of the price at a decent mom and pop.

I think I misunderstood the concept of Asia Live. It was advertised as an Asian "Eataly". Their slogan is "Dine. Drink. Shop". Well, I was there for the shopping part, and was disappointed at how small the shopping area was. It's 1 bookcase and a couple of tables in the front section of their restaurant on the 2nd floor. There were some sauces, teas, cute bags, some books, and bowls. They were nice looking, but were more like souvenirs than food items you can take home and cook with (like the huge shop at Eataly). So 2-stars for the shopping experience. Asia Live is really 2 restaurants: Little Tokyo on the ground floor, and Asia Live on the 2nd floor. There is a bar (Bar Lucy) on the 2nd floor. There is also a "On-the-Go" counter in front on the 2nd floor. I didn't try either of their restaurants on this visit, but decided to try their on-the-go Banh Mi. The selection rotates daily, and today was 5-Spice Chicken. It was quite good: chicken was flavorful and there was plenty of it. The bread was really good, crispy but not hard. The veggies were well pickled but were pretty limp. So 4-stars for the food. Overall, a nice concept, but not the concept advertised. When I try their restaurants, I'll update this review accordingly.

I'm a huge fan of China Live in the city and I'm so glad to have a piece of them in the South Bay now. I loved everything about this place! The service was fantastic. We also got to meet Chef Chen who was a very gracious host, especially to my toddler. My mom is a vegetarian so it can be a struggle for her to find a variety of options at some restaurants. Asia Live had an awesome selection for her. We ordered: Vegetarian Shanghai Fat chow mein 5/5 Tofu Medley 5/5 Charred Gailan 4.5/5 Indonesian asam chicken 4.5/5 The flavors were incredible for everything! I do think the Indonesian chicken was the odd one out. I should've ordered steamed rice with that. Regardless, the chicken was tender and flavorful. I also ended up buying a few of their sauces. So excited to go back and try more of the menu!

Not sure how this has a 3 star rating, as it's honestly pretty damn good. Good quality drinks, food, layout, etc. This used to be Ichina which struggled, but I'm hoping for better futures for Asia Live. The duck little mini sandwiches was amazing. The layout isn't as "fancy" as Ichina, but it's still pretty good. The area is full of great restaurants, and I think this is one of them. Give it a shot.

This place won't be here long. Food is underwhelming, either under flavored or far too rich. Every single item was just dissapointing. Definitely regret not going to dtf instead. They also forgot a dish and just pretended like nothing happened. Won't be back, will without a doubt tell others to ovoid

Highly disappointed with the meal. The lamb shank was overly salty, dry, and didn't taste fresh. The fish was very small and completely dried out. The soup dumplings and buns lacked any soup inside, noodles were soggy, Korean ribs burnt but somehow the iphone made it look better but in reality they were burnt beyond recognition.

A fancy Asian food hall, where you don't have to line up or walk around to order your food. Went it for light dinner, so we end up trying only 4 things. Went started the cucumber for appetizers. I love a flavorful cucumber. It's mildly spicy, with a good balance of salty and sour. The we go the mapo tofu and ordered coconut (blue) rice and regular rice. The tofu is also good, and on the mild to medium spice. Next we got the Xiao Long Bao. It was okay. The meat and soup inside is on the clean light taste. You definitely need the sauce for flavor. We also tried a couple of skewers - chicken momo and shitake mushroom. The sauce is flavorful and not too much char taste. We also got a pot of 8 Treasure Tea which is served in a nice pot. The glass that it came along was slightly thin and it's hard to hold when the tea is still hot. They have lots of seating on the second floor, although can feel a bit packed when there's a lot of diners because the tables are a bit close to each other. I think first floor is where the skewers are. And they have a mini store in front, where they also sell their vinegar with ginger (it's good!). The service was decent. They are on top of things, even the manager goes around to check on everyone. Overall it was a good experience. We are yet to try more dishes from the menu.

Visited Asia Live on July 12 (soft opening?) with the limited menu. It looks quite different than when it was iChina. We ordered -Char Siu BBQ Pork "Dutch Crunch" Baked Buns. Our favorite of the meal. I would order this again -Hong Kong Noodles. Too much salt. If they can fix the salt, then I would happily order this again because the toddler ate it up. -Peking Duck in Sesame Pockets. To be honest I would prefer the usual bao bun instead of the "sesame pockets" which hid away the duck -Mongolian Char Grilled Short 'Kalbi' Ribs. This was tasty but perhaps overpriced along with the rest of the dishes I don't think it quite lives up to China Live in San Francisco or what they are trying to do like their neighbor Eataly. I look forward to seeing what's next and trying the rest of the menu when it becomes available.

I wanted to give this place only 2 stars, but our server Lilly was friendly and attentive, so I bumped it up to 3. We were seated right away. The only things I really enjoyed were the ice water and the nice linen napkins. Unfortunately, the food was disappointing. The chicken lettuce cups were overly salty and lacked flavor. The dim sum dumplings (shrimp/scallop & soup dumplings) were just average. Honestly, they tasted like something you could easily buy at a Chinese market. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant. Sorry Asia live, I guess I won't be a regular. If you're planning to spend money on quality dim sum, I'd go to Din Tai Fung instead.

The food comes out pretty fast. The overall shared dining area is regularly kept clean inside Great Mall, there is great lighting and high ceilings, and there is plenty of parking in front of the food court entrance. I don't love the restrooms here -- it's hard to get the automatic sink faucets to stay on, and they give a tiny spurt of water on and off while you try to maneuver your hands around. The caulking in the sinks also clearly have a bunch of mold behind/in them, which is gross. Unfortunately other Great Mall bathrooms seem to be in the same condition. Our menu included Soy Sauce Chicken, Spicy Pork, Japchae Noodle, Pan Fried Cubed Tofu, Shredded Cabbage and Carrot, Kimchi with shrimp, and fresh fruits. At first I thought the Soy Sauce Chicken was like the Chinese kind of cut-up chicken with skin and bones, but it's actually smaller pieces of chicken meat in soy sauce flavor. Kinda dry for me. The Spicy Pork is hella spicy! And when it's spicy, you can't taste any other flavors. Japchae Noodle was just plain mung bean noodle with soy sauce, no other ingredients. It's salty and the more you eat the saltier it gets. This is usually my go to dish but now I'm disappointed. Shredded Cabbage and Carrot is very light in flavor, just boiled chopped veg. It's useful to mix them with the over-seasoned meat. The cubed tofu is ok, probably my least complained dish. In general, it's a very simple lunch with little to highlight.

I've tried several things on the menu and while my coworker and I have some favorites (the lemongrass beef must be tried, and the green curry and curry noodle soup are both also fantastic), we haven't had anything so far that we haven't liked. I did bring my husband for a meal on the weekend and he wasn't a fan of the fried buns for the char siu bbq with lotus buns and thought the char siu was too sweet, but he enjoyed the spring rolls so hopefully he'll give it another chance later. Vietnamese iced coffee here is also good, but it's not one of the places that brings the little drip filter out to the table etc. in case you're looking for that (my coworker was hoping for it when we first came). The decor is fairly typical of a place run by the Supreme Master Ching Hai group, and the menu has the same vibe if not the same items (my sandwich-loving husband was dismayed by the lack of banh mi), which is a bit of a change from when I had been here previously almost a decade ago.
