MY NEW FAVORITE THAI SPOT!!! We decided to go out for a family dinner with the mother-in-law and my wife had said I would like this place. Boy was she right! Located in a bit of a run down plaza off Homestead in Cupertino, there is ample parking but I was a bit skeptical pulling in. There is a kiosk in front and you can add your name to the waitlist. We were seated after a short 10 min wait. It was busy (on a Friday night) and the staff was moving efficiently to take all the waiting orders. We ordered the Fried Tofu to start. Wife got the Green Curry (mild) with chicken, mother-in-law ordered the Pad See Ew with chicken and I tried something new with the Kua Kai with Crispy Pork. Also added in a Singha which came with an ice cold glass. Food came out quickly and the tofu was crispy and the sauce was enjoyed by all. My dish was the star and we all loved the stir fried flat rice noodle and the crispy pork! The green curry spice level was good for us but kids passed. The Pad See Ew was pretty solid but similar at most places. Really enjoyed the Thai chilis in garlic and vinegar. Enjoyed this place so much, I came back a few days later for lunch with my colleague. This time got the Pad Woon Sen and he got the Pad Kee Mow both with Crispy Pork. Would say it wasn't as good at lunch since the Crispy Pork was a bit over and chewy. What a well run establishment!! Came here with my cousins for a birthday meal and it was quite impressive. Not only is the food delicious but the place is actually smaller than you think but they run it like a well oiled machine. Orders are taken quickly, food arrives fast and hot, and the staff there turns over tables efficiently after guests leave to ensure others outside aren't waiting long. I've been to this location in Cupertino many times and really love the food. It's always consistent, tasty, and made well. The reason I'm -2 stars off the review is from their ordering online on their website and picking up (via Toast which is cheaper than Doordash). This past Sunday, I ordered for pickup and ordered 4 dishes, including the crab fried rice. Right after driving home with my order, I realized I received 3 correct dishes and one incorrect dish. I was missing the crab fried rice. Instead, I got a mango sticky rice, which we didn't order. I notified the restaurant multiple ways. 1. I called the number listed on their Yelp (628) 345-3469, which rings once before being picked up by an voice machine and connecting you to an AI agent who helps answer your questions. 2. I told the AI that my order I just picked up was wrong, and they told me to text a photo of my order and the receipt to the phone number listed on their website: (408) 495-9959, which I did that night. 3. I didn't get a response, and I also tried calling that line a couple times, and no one picked up. 4. I then tried filling in the form on the Contact tab of their website, and also did not get a response. In summary, I really like this restaurant and would go again in person, but would caution against anyone who orders multiple dishes during pickup. I heard people rave about this so I may have just chosen wrong. I normally get pad see ew at Thai places but I decided to branch out and get the khao soi noodle soup to try something different and on a recommendation. The broth was incredible. I'm hesitant with coconut based broths sometimes as it can be too rich (or taste like the stabilizing gums) but this broth was tempered with spices and the perfect balance. Unfortunately the tofu tasted weird - like super sour, as if it had spoiled or something. The crunch noodles on top were wheat based instead of rice based to get the crunch but the flavor was so noticeably "wheat-y" that it didn't mesh well with the other dish flavors. The Thai tea was also diluted and not as strong as usual. But my friends pad kee mao tasted delicious so maybe just stick with the classics. There was a waitlist (I didn't see it on Yelp to join earlier than arrival). We waited about 20 minutes before we were seated. A menu is left outside for people to look at, so we knew what we wanted to order immediately after being seated. I would check the utensils etc before using as my set was still dirty. Staff replaced it quickly. We ordered the four dishes: Papaya salad- incredibly fresh and crunchy. It was soooo good Pad See Ew with Beef - very flavorful! It was exactly what I was craving. Absolute favorite Thai spot in Cupertino with super reasonable prices, my two favorite things: good food, cheap prices. The best thing about this place is surprisingly their pork belly! You can add your choice of protein to almost most of their entrees, and the pork belly has always stood out to me! I am surprised I haven't tried this spot until now :) I came to Siam Station on a weekday for lunch, and while there was a small wait, it only took max 5 minutes to get in with 5 parties ahead of me. They do a Yelp waitlist, so keep your eyes peeled for that if you're going during a busier period. Once they notify you that your table is ready, you'll need to go to the counter to check in and get seated. This place is definitely meant for dine-in, however I saw a lot of people do to-go orders as well. My partner and I opted for dine-in and ordered the following menu items: * Beef salad: Actually crazy portions, I think the bang for your buck was definitely there. The salad was coated in a nice umami Thai sauce, and the beef was cut into nice, digestible pieces, while the vegetables provided a refreshing taste. * Thai eggplant basil: This was my favorite dish of the meal. AN OFF DAY 4.0 It seems like finding excellent Thai food is becoming more difficult these days. This place is probably one of the better options in the area. We enjoy coming here, but our most recent visit left us a bit underwhelmed. We ordered Thai Iced Teas (which were unfortunately served in clear plastic to-go cups), Mama's Egg Rolls, Crab Fried Rice, and Panang Curry with Beef. The standout dish was the Crab Fried Rice. We couldn't see any noticeable chunks of crab, but it was wonderfully seasoned. Where they fell short was in the service and ambiance. Within a minute of being seated, a server stopped by to take our order. When we asked for a little more time, no one returned, and we eventually had to flag someone down. During our meal, no one came by to check on us or ask how everything was. Perhaps it was because there didn't seem to be an assigned server for our table: one person took our order, another delivered the food, and someone else brought the bill. After finishing our meal, we sat for quite a while waiting. Fortunately, we weren't in a hurry. We eventually had to wave someone over for boxes and our check. As for the ambiance, the decor wasn't the issue. It was the loud music coming from the kitchen competing with the music playing in the dining room. The combination was distracting and not particularly pleasant. Unless they are intentionally going for a "street food" vibe, it's not something customers should have to experience. Bustling even on a weekday night! We came here on a Thursday around 6:45pm. The inside was completely full, so there was around a 15-20 minute wait. Once inside though, service is very quick. We got our food virtually right after we ordered, which was nice. I ordered the panang curry, which was tangy yet creamy from the coconut milk. For me, a great marker of excellent Thai food is the meat quality. We did chicken and ground chicken for our entrees and both tasted fresh and well-prepared and they were very generous with their meat portions across pad ke mao, their tom yum fried rice, and the panang curry. The chicken satay was also especially good. Of the entrees, I have to give the edge to the pad ke mao; their stir fried proteins are next level. Probably the best Thai place I've tried in both the Peninsula + South Bay area. I didn't come here sooner because there's always a long line in the plaza (parking is usually packed, but I'm still usually able to find a spot). Expect a wait... Unsure why I don't have a review for Siam Station yet. It's become my favorite Thai spot since they've arrived a few years ago and I've frequented it many times. At the curse of their success, they're also super busy so the wait time can be long and parking during peak times is abysmal. More importantly, the food and ambiance are great. A tad loud because of so many tables squeezed in, but in a lively way. Never really minded it. My go-to's for food are always the pineapple fried rice, the papaya salad, and of course any of the pad dishes. I like the pad kee mao, pad Thai, and pad see ew in that order. The Khao soi is an underrated curry dish on a cold day. Can't really go wrong. Note that the beef is cubed and the pork is crisp. Can throw you off if you're not expecting it. Spice level is fair -- medium or hot for the spice lords, mild for those that can't handle it. Don't be brave and get the medium if you're not a regular spicy eater. It's a stark jump at each spice level. Are there things I'd prefer differently in my Thai food? Sure. I was with a party of 7 but my lady and I shared a Garlic Beef, Chicken Pad Thai and a Thai Tea, though we got to try dishes that the rest of our party ordered as well since all 7 of us shared. To start off, everything was flavorful and very very savory. The Chicken Pad Thai tasted just right, not too sweet and not too salty. My party also ordered a Crispy Pork Pad Thai which was also very delicious. Our Garlic Beef was very garlicky, the sauce used was just spot on. Though I personally would have liked the steamed vegetables to be sautéed with that sauce, the entree was still delicious either way. But when the food is served, I totally understand why people are willing to wait. I ordered the khao soi and it was fantastic. The curry was rich and creamy, with cilantro and pickles that added a nice depth and balance to the flavor. This latest visit was my favorite after trying the Khao Soi egg noodle dish, I love a crispy contrast with the pan fried egg noodles in the coconut milk based soup! We added prawns (4). There's usually a long wait during dinner time so go early if you can. If you go with a group, everyone needs to be present before they seat you. No points for - For two straight days, I've been trying to call them and ask if they take reservations - no one answers! Zero points for: And because I couldn't figure out the reservation/confirmation of a table, or if there is a long line with an even longer wait ...I got there early so that I could get a corner table and wait for my friend (who is handicapped) to get there!! My name got called and they said "oh let's wait till all your party comes and then we'll get you seated." I explained to them that I need the table 1st so that my friend doesn't have to go through waiting standing, then getting usher to a table, considering the handicap. They were stuck in their thought process and did not give us a table. My friend had difficulty parking and getting in - so of course we had to wait to get a table. This is not at all considerate of them when we explicitly said we have a member with a handicap. They were rigid. What I noticed is that the corner table I asked for was given to a lady, even though her companion came in much later! The indoor seating is very cramped. I wonder how many people are truly allowed! I can grab anything from the next table if I wanted to - that's how terrible the seating is. 1 point for : The food is OK. Everything tastes the same. It's a bit too salty.
