A local favorite we keep coming back to! The beautiful interior and friendly staff make it such a welcoming place to catch up with people you love. My personal go-to is the pad Thai -- perfectly sauced in a way that not every restaurant gets right. And the mango sticky rice is an absolute must. So good!

The tom kha soup didn't look very appetizing but it was bursting with flavor. Tons of different types of mushrooms all up in there and the pork was good too. I loved the coconut milk broth. The portion was a good size too. The pad kee mow was still a bit spicy even though we ordered it mild. The flat noodles were so bouncy with the perfect amount of chew. Good serving of veggies too. Some of the shrimp seemed undercooked. Kow ka pow with chicken was ok. Also ordered mild, it still had a kick to it. Service was ok. My friend told them she thought the shrimp was undercooked and the server said they parboil it before they sauté it but he would pass the feedback onto the chef and returned to offer 10% off that dish. I'd come back for the soup!

Not your standard hum drum thai restaurant. While Khao Kang has the classic Thai restaurant ambiance and decor, the food can definitely throw some twists, starting with the crispy pork and roast pork rice plate that resembles more of Cantonese style cooking. Then add the curry options which really just feature green and variants of red curry, feels limited without Penang. Lastly, the pad see eww was different from what I'm used to. Overall, we enjoyed it. Food was good, albeit different. Service was very friendly and nice. Parking in the private parking lot--but so many designated "15-min", making me think if they actually enforce it.

We've been ordering delivery from here a few times, which have always been pretty tasty! We decided to come in person. We came around dinnertime, but we were quickly seated. The staff were quite friendly. We ordered the pad kee mow with crispy pork, pad see ew with chicken, and the crab fried rice. The pad kee mow was decent. I had asked for medium spicy, but it wasn't too hot. The noodles have an amazing bite to them. The crispy pork is incredibly juicy and, as the name calls for, crispy! Definitely recommend choosing that as your protein. The pad see ew is our typical delivery order. Similarly, the noodles are very springy. It's always seasoned so well; just the perfect level of sweet and salty. Are you telling me a crab fried this rice? In all honesty - maybe, since it took quite a while to come out. We had imagined that it would come out first, but it came out after we had finished our noodle dishes. It was okay; it was a little on the blander side and was a little mushy. Our other friends had ordered a few other dishes. After some around-the-table sampling, they stared longingly at our noodles the rest of the meal. Don't miss out on the pad see ew!

no misses for the food! everything was yummy but if you get one thing here get the fish coconut curry! that felt the most unique here. service was alright nothing stood out, the ambiance is pretty casual with noise levels just right for conversations with friends.

Maybe our favorite Thai place. Tried their new beef curry and it was a hit! Service is always good and friendly. Not usually a problem to get seating either.

Might not look like a lot of food, but it is! Decided to try a new thai spot out and discovered this place. On the table as a side dish they have this pickled jalapeno? So good, plus they make it in house. Our server was quick to get our order in. Inside is pretty spacious compared to the outside. On all of our food we ordered medium spicy, but it wasn't spicy at all. The Papaya salad thai style tasted bland in my personal opinion and they use whole tomatoes instead of cherry tomatoes. The Pad See Ew with chicken was really good though. It didn't taste too oily and the texture of the noodles were perfect. The Har Mok Salmon was super good. That coconut milk really pops out and that curry taste isn't over powering. Plus the fish is still pretty juicy. It seems like a lot of people order online here too! Overall this place is good but, I would say the papaya salad is subpar.

I've been on the hunt for a go-to Thai spot in Mountain View, and this place might just be it! I came by around 6:30 PM on a Friday and was pleasantly surprised there was no wait. That said, the service was a bit slow as only two servers were managing the entire restaurant. The menu is extensive, with lots of dishes to choose from. I tried pineapple curry for the first time - while it wasn't as spicy as I expected (even at the 'hot' level), I still really enjoyed it! I'll be back to try more of their menu.

Flavor (3/5): Their Tom Kha soup is really sour but hits the spot if you're looking for something with a kick. I really liked having a fish option with it I felt like it paired well in being light together. The padang curry was decent, you have to order a side of rice to go with it. I wouldn't order the beef with it because majority is tendon that you can't chew. The pad thai was a bit disappointing in terms of the protein was too fatty and it wasn't flavorful enough. Instagram Worthy (4/5): Food looks really pretty when it comes out! The restaurant is also decorated quite well on the inside. Service (3/5): They have outdoor seating and they have heat lamps but they don't work or at least the workers claim they can't turn them on. Service is a bit slow when you sit outside, we waited a while for food and no one checked up on us. Even to pay the bill we just went inside to pay. Takeaways: Expensive thai food for what it is, decent portions but I've for sure had better. $20+ for a dish you want it to be great!

Had the red pineapple curry with chicken, Khao Moo Krob (crispy pork), Pad See Ew, Chicken Satay, Thai fried rice with pork and crab rangoon. They don't serve yellow curry. They have a choice of Red Curry dishes which is pretty much the same curry sauce but with different vegetable ingredients. Spice level from medium to more spicy. Choice of protein from chicken, pork, crispy pork, shrimp. Got the pineapple curry with chicken . Good curry flavor but mild on the curry taste. Didn't have enough chicken. The curry flavor almost disappears when poured over the rice. The Thai fried rice was good. It had the smoky flavor that's a signature taste of having cooked in a wok or wok hei. Had good proportion of rice to meat ratio. Green curry was another choice. The Khao Moo Krob and Moo Dang was described as having crispy pork and BBQ red pork. The crispy pork was good. Basically fried pork belly slices. The BBQ pork was just 4 small pieces of Chinese sausage called Lap Cheong. I've had this dish elsewhere and they usually have the sweet BBQ cha shu pork. Steamed rice was included with two dipping sauces. Pad See Ew was good. Each noodle was coated with the sauce. Had milder flavor of sweet and soy sauce. The greens they added gave it an additional flavor of very slight bitternes. Different but interesting. Noodles were not soggy. The crab rangoon and chicken Satay were good. Satay had a good portion with 4 skewers of good size chicken pieces. Good peanut dip. The rangoon had a really nice presentation. Crispy wrappers that are not too oily. Good amount of filling, mostly tasted the cream cheese. Was accompanied by sweet chili sauce. Reasonable price for the Fried Rice and Noodle dishes. Walked in around 1pm on a Saturday and waited less than 10 min to get seated. Staff were nice. Food came out pretty quickly.

Food (5/5) I've enjoyed all the food I've had here! I've tried the Pad See Ew, Crab Fried Rice, Eggplant, Veggie Samosa. They give very generous portion sizes and the food is always hot off the stove. Small caveat - the samosas were cold when we got them originally, though they of course graciously exchanged them. Price (4/5) Price is definitely on par or higher for your typical Thai food meal. Entrees will be $20 and up. Wait Time (4/5) Definitely varies, I've been here on weekday evenings and had to wait no time, and another time had to wait over 30mins. Service (4/5) Good service, it can be hard to get their attention since it gets busy and there aren't many servers. Ambiance (5/5) Good ambiance inside, good decorations. No issues! Parking/Access (5/5) Located in a strip mall in MV, there's usually parking available since the other businesses are closed by the time it's dinnertime. Can't speak for lunch time business. Would be back! But I may try some other Thai restaurants in the area first :)

Pad kar Pao , special northern cuisine with the pork meats, green beans, red green peppers, fried eggs and cucumber salad.

Wow. What an amazing foods, I really enjoy the dishes. The presentations is great, the eggs cook perfectly. The spice is about right, the meats tastes a bit sweet with the twist of the spicy. I also like the colors of the foods, because it's match to the rice color. Definitely you should give a try.

I would try it again with chicken or beef. The sauce does not really penetrate the prawns. The flavor and thick texture of the pumpkin sauce and pumpkin chunks was good. It was not overly sweet, and the coconut milk and red curry was noticeable. I was not a big fan of the spicy basil grilled beef. Flavor was okay. It wasn't a great cut of beef. The Tiger Cry was not a great cut of beef either. It was a bit thin compared to another place. It's a grilled hangar steak. It was served with steam vegetables and a not very spicy vinaigrette sauce. My son loves meat, so he would choose the Tiger Cry between the two. The pad see ewe with beef was a bit oily and not super flavorful. The noodles were soft and the beef tender. I thought it was better than the pad thai I had here last time. The Pad thai did not have that much flavor and the noodles were very soft. Yellow curry with chicken is always my favorite. It is good here. We also ordered the Mussaman curry, with beef and it has ginger and pineapple. It's a different flavor than the yellow curry and it has potatoes too. Thai iced tea is Thai iced tea. If you like it, then you would like it. We were seated within two or three minutes outside. It's too crowded inside for me. Tables were wiped down but a bit sticky. They had heating lamps on outside. Server was efficient and nice. They were very quiet and respectful. They did not come by to see how we were, but they were super quick getting us our check and to go boxes when we signaled them. A lot of Asian restaurants have employees with English as their second language, so they can be very shy. Tip is on the total not the subtotal if that makes a difference to you. Food here was good. I would come again if I wanted Thai and could sit outside. The Amarin Thai across the street has a different ambiance, more casual, slightly different menu and much more space between tables.

Let's start with the food - it's good not great. Thai food is generally known to be affordable and good value. This spot definitely isn't going to be saving you any money to offset less than stellar quality. If there were no other Thai options, it may be ok, but the Bay isn't lacking in quality Thai food. Most dishes are bland and dare I say pretty Americanized. Sadly, the food is the best part. The service is really and I mean really bad. Even when it's empty, they are still slow and don't seem to care at all. Complete antithesis of what you may be used at Thai restaurants. The atmosphere is mid. The place hasn't really been updated much over the years and it's starting to show its age. Overall, it feels like Amarin is stuck in the past and everything has just come at them fast. What may have been able to pass muster a few years back when Castro was a sleepy street in a quiet and boring suburb is no longer good enough.

I had the hot Japanese sencha while my wife got the Thai Iced tea served with a crushed iced ball on top. Roti Mataba, Crispy Egg Rolls, Farmhouse Wings and Crispy Calamari were our starters for this gang of eclectic diners. I shared with my wife the Panang Neua (braised beef in curry sauce) and Pad See You which came gorgeously plated with generous servings. We were able to sample the Crab Fried Rice and Tom Kha from our dinnermates. Ruk Na (love you) Platter was the underwhelming dessert combo of Thai Vacation, Sticky Rice (no mango), Chocolate Cake with fresh fruits and a macaron. To be described as IG worthy in the menu wasn't accurate IMO. It must've been an off-day in the kitchen when they were prepping this "leave the choice up to us" plate of sweets. Food was way flavorful than regular Thai restaurants we've been to. The common complaint is the very pricy food. The staff was nice though. They even acknowledged our request for photos. But, for the quality, this may worth it. We asked for cut ups chilies and fish sauce and drizzled it on top. This dish was perfect. .......9/10 Panang Beef Not too spicy for a Thai Spicy. Taste wise, this dish only had one note in our tongue. Sweet and that's it. I asked for beef. I did not think they took it as the short rib. And added the premium charge. I cant bear to put the price here. Just know, it expensive....2/10 I know that everything is pricey now. But, $98.00 for 3 dishes in a Thai restaurant was shocking.
