Thai Fried Rice and curry chicken

The food is delicious. Been here a few times. It's clean and well decorated inside with white tablecloths and flowers at the bar. The waiters are friendly and efficient. Upscale vibe but relaxed setting. We'll definitely be back. My boyfriend loves the fried rice - we. He's been a regular here for a long time.

I've ordered door dash before for this place and decided to come here to dine. We ordered: Garlic basa -- the fish is coated with yummy batter and lots of garlic. It is simply delicious. Even my boyfriend who is not a seafood fan likes the fish. Chicken in yellow curry -- very good but you can get that at any Thai restaurant. Chili rib eye- a real rib eye steak that has been char grilled and came with string beans , asparagus, and broccoli. Very impressed with the way they cooked the steak. Overall , the basa and steak were uniquely good and the yellow curry was in a standard way. Atmosphere is also very nice and roomy inside.

8/25/25 Shana Thai Restaurant 311 Moffett Blvd Ste A Mountain View, CA 94043 We went for lunch on a Monday to try a new place. This place is north of Castro St. on Moffet with no access back to DT MTV across Central. It's in a mostly Hispanic shopping plaza with okay parking. It's a little dim and contemporary interior. Service was good and attentive. I had the Massaman Curry (Beef), which I usually order on a first try to compare with other versions I have had and have experienced wide variability in execution, ingredients and flavor with this dish. Wifey had the Pad Thai with shrimp, which I don't care for due to the eggy flavor. The shrimp was okay, juicy and tender. My curry was above average but not in the elite category. It had good coconut flavor, the beef was very tender and plentiful but I detected no peanut; which I consider essential for this dish. It was good but not great, so no repeat.

Came here with some friends to catch up and get some work done. The restaurant is located next to a grocery store and has plenty of parking in the back. When I got there, it was quiet as it was after the lunch rush. There was only 1 other group besides us - and we were placed right next to them. Seeing as it wasn't crowded, I would have preferred to be seated away from the other group as they were somewhat loud. 1 star off for that. Now for the good part - all the food we ordered were delicious! Each dish was full of flavor and worked well with each other. For the 6 of us, there was plenty of food to go around and we ended up not finishing - even tho we tried really hard. I also had a Thai iced tea (of course), which was pretty good - it was slightly too sweet for me, but not too bad. Overall, service was quick and other than the seating situation - everything went well. I definitely plan on coming back to try some of the other dishes.

Came here for a late dinner as a group of 7 on Thursday around 8:30pm. The restaurant wasn't full, but there was a decent amount of folks on a weeknight. We were seated right away with no wait. ~The Food~ - Garlic Basa ($19): This was my favorite dish of the meal! This dish was fried fish with a sweet garlic sauce. This fish was so hot, definitely cooked fresh! It was super crispy, yet the fish was quite tender! Sauce was very garlic-y, perfect balance of sweet and savory. - Green Curry with Chicken ($18): There was quite a variety of veggies in this dish (asparagus, green beans, zucchini, broccoli, cauliflower, bell peppers), and a good amount of chicken. Personally, I thought this green curry wasn't anything too special; I think the flavors were just a bit lacking, could've used a bit more spice. I think it tasted just a bit watered down for my taste. - Jasmine Rice ($2): Nothing special, but pretty good portion! ~Overall~ I would say it was not a bad Thai place, but nothing too special; I think pricing wise, I think some of the dishes felt a bit overpriced. The service was pretty fast, staff weren't the most attentive but it was alright!

Decent Thai food. The Green curry with Roti was nice, the Lemongrass & kaffir lime flavors were pretty fresh & authentic. Fish cakes were huge, but had a rubbery texture. The wild ginger & peppercorn was tasty, but over sauced & the fried fish peices got lost in the mix - main ingredient cannot be overshadowed. Will need try the green/red curry, pad thai classics next time. Service is nice & quick. Place looks nice & cozy.

Nice gem just a block from downtown Mountain View. Street parking and a parking lot behind it. We went on 8pm on a Friday and it wasn't busy. Staff were friendly, and patient waiting for our full party. I wish I could remember what everyone else got because it all was very good. We had summer rolls and crab Rangoon rings very delicious, could eat a bucket of the rings. Pad Thai w/ beef and crispy pork belly spot on. The yellow curry was tasty, only wish it was spicer. All food was served at a medium level, so not too hot but felt it could use more. The $10 margaritas were good too! All dishes are pretty big, so can share them next time

I used to take my team here all the time for lunch. I haven't been here for many years. It's first time for my family. Food Ordered the following: Red curry shrimp 3/5 Pad Thai with chicken 4/5 like the thin noodles Crab roll 2/5 prefer that the inside is less soggy Fish with eggplant 3/5 flavorful but salty Service Served a cup of tea with lipstick. It grossed my husband out and refused to drink anything here after that. They didn't charge us though. Ambiance It is showing its age now. The table cloth was dirty which grossed my daughter out. We won't be coming back here.

Excellent Thai food in a nondescript outdoor shopping center. The crying tiger beef is DEE-Licious and one of their signature dishes. pumpkin curry also a standout. Can't wait to go back to try more. Def on my regular rotation when up in the Bay area.

    Grilled Eggplant Salad

My mom and I came here for lunch on a weekday and they weren't busy at all around 1:45pm. We ordered the crispy tofu appetizer, grilled eggplant salad, and pad see ew with chicken. The portions are quite large and great for sharing! Everything was delicious, and I forgot to take a pic of the pad see ew because I was too focused on eating. The tofu was a highlight -- crispy on the outside and silky soft on the inside, and the peanut sauce was super tasty. We had plenty of leftovers and left feeling quite full! Service was friendly and maybe a tiny bit slow but there was only one person waiting on the tables at this time, so I don't blame them for being busy. I can definitely see this place becoming a regular stop/recommendation when I am in the area.

We got the Penang braised beef, pad see ew, pad ka pow, Thai hot pot, and mango sticky rice. The Penang braised beef is basically like the Penang curry - very rich, well spiced, and the beef is tender. My favorite dish here. Pad see ew is good but fairly standard - pricing is pretty high for a dish like this - $20+ for a noodle dish. The pad ka pow is good - something I normally wouldn't get, in favor of curry, but it was great for sharing and open up my horizons beyond my typical order. Thai hot pot for $35 was really disappointing - there is good amount of beef but they do not do a good job with the meat cuts and it is easy to overcook due to the constant fire inside cooking up the soup. Mango sticky rice is good - mangoes were sweet and fresh, but the rice was on the undercooked side. Service is good as water refills were present and they brought the dishes in a timely manner. Overall, decent Thai food, but coming from Seattle, this did not wow me the same way as my friends do who live around this area.

Could have been perfect, but the inside wasn't warm. Still ordering it again next time I go! The woman who was taking care of everyone seated (about six full tables) was kind and welcomed us to come back which I appreciated. The parking was a little tough even on a Wednesday at 1 PM. All in all, it was really enjoyable and I'll definitely be coming back with my buddies!

I would try it again with chicken or beef. The sauce does not really penetrate the prawns. The flavor and thick texture of the pumpkin sauce and pumpkin chunks was good. It was not overly sweet, and the coconut milk and red curry was noticeable. I was not a big fan of the spicy basil grilled beef. Flavor was okay. It wasn't a great cut of beef. The Tiger Cry was not a great cut of beef either. It was a bit thin compared to another place. It's a grilled hangar steak. It was served with steam vegetables and a not very spicy vinaigrette sauce. My son loves meat, so he would choose the Tiger Cry between the two. The pad see ewe with beef was a bit oily and not super flavorful. The noodles were soft and the beef tender. I thought it was better than the pad thai I had here last time. The Pad thai did not have that much flavor and the noodles were very soft. Yellow curry with chicken is always my favorite. It is good here. We also ordered the Mussaman curry, with beef and it has ginger and pineapple. It's a different flavor than the yellow curry and it has potatoes too. Thai iced tea is Thai iced tea. If you like it, then you would like it. We were seated within two or three minutes outside. It's too crowded inside for me. Tables were wiped down but a bit sticky. They had heating lamps on outside. Server was efficient and nice. They were very quiet and respectful. They did not come by to see how we were, but they were super quick getting us our check and to go boxes when we signaled them. A lot of Asian restaurants have employees with English as their second language, so they can be very shy. Tip is on the total not the subtotal if that makes a difference to you. Food here was good. I would come again if I wanted Thai and could sit outside. The Amarin Thai across the street has a different ambiance, more casual, slightly different menu and much more space between tables.

Let's start with the food - it's good not great. Thai food is generally known to be affordable and good value. This spot definitely isn't going to be saving you any money to offset less than stellar quality. If there were no other Thai options, it may be ok, but the Bay isn't lacking in quality Thai food. Most dishes are bland and dare I say pretty Americanized. Sadly, the food is the best part. The service is really and I mean really bad. Even when it's empty, they are still slow and don't seem to care at all. Complete antithesis of what you may be used at Thai restaurants. The atmosphere is mid. The place hasn't really been updated much over the years and it's starting to show its age. Overall, it feels like Amarin is stuck in the past and everything has just come at them fast. What may have been able to pass muster a few years back when Castro was a sleepy street in a quiet and boring suburb is no longer good enough.

Our large group of 8 was seated in the main dining hall with another large group. The menus of specials and cocktails with colorful F&D photos reminded me of touristy European restaurants. I had the hot Japanese sencha while my wife got the Thai Iced tea served with a crushed iced ball on top. Roti Mataba, Crispy Egg Rolls, Farmhouse Wings and Crispy Calamari were our starters for this gang of eclectic diners. I shared with my wife the Panang Neua (braised beef in curry sauce) and Pad See You which came gorgeously plated with generous servings. We were able to sample the Crab Fried Rice and Tom Kha from our dinnermates. Ruk Na (love you) Platter was the underwhelming dessert combo of Thai Vacation, Sticky Rice (no mango), Chocolate Cake with fresh fruits and a macaron. To be described as IG worthy in the menu wasn't accurate IMO. It must've been an off-day in the kitchen when they were prepping this "leave the choice up to us" plate of sweets. Food was way flavorful than regular Thai restaurants we've been to. The common complaint is the very pricy food. The staff was nice though. They even acknowledged our request for photos. Even with the setbacks, this was a nice lunch with this group.

Plus, $19 for a noodle dishHmmmmm.,...7/10 Spicy Garlic Shrimp- We asked for Thai Spicy and we got it! Please order this. You only get 6 big shrimps and lots of veggies for $25. But, for the quality, this may worth it. We asked for cut ups chilies and fish sauce and drizzled it on top. This dish was perfect. .......9/10 Panang Beef Not too spicy for a Thai Spicy. Taste wise, this dish only had one note in our tongue. Sweet and that's it. I asked for beef. I did not think they took it as the short rib. And added the premium charge. I cant bear to put the price here. Just know, it expensive....2/10 I know that everything is pricey now. But, $98.00 for 3 dishes in a Thai restaurant was shocking.
