Green curry with basa fish and pad see ew with tofu and veggies
    Julia T.

This place is only open for limited hours lunch and dinner on weekdays, so I wanted to give it a try when I had half a day off. The roti appetizer was tasty, not as oily as other places, and the curry sauce had great flavor although was a little thin. Green curry was nice and flavorful although it had peas in it which was unusual and maybe not my favorite but the actual curry base was good. Basa fish was pretty salty but went well with the curry and there was a good sized portion of fish in the curry. Pad see ew was a good portion size, although a bit skimpy on the tofu and vegetable proportion relative to the noodles. Service was very pleasant, several indoor and outdoor tables available for seating. Relatively quiet on a Friday at lunch, only two other couples were there. Nice affordable Thai spot, limited hours and food was pretty standard for Bay Area.

One star better this time! The service was definitely faster, probably because we ordered at the kiosk as soon as we arrived instead of waiting for the waitress. The food was fresh and tasty, Panang curry, pad Thai and soup, and the dining area was clean and nicely decorated. I also still appreciate the good outdoor seating.

Barn Thai is located in a fairly good-sized shopping plaza. There is plenty of parking available. Small family restaurant with inside dining mostly, but they do have a few tables for outside dining. The service is always friendly and nice. Order via kiosk, pay and tip on the kiosk, and decide if take out or dine in. Take a number if dining in and choose a table. On other visits, I've enjoyed the... Basil Fried Rice, Pad Thai Noodles, Drunken Noodles, Green Curry, Panang Curry, Devil Wing, and Tom Yum Soup. Today, I had the Thai Shaking Beef Salad (3/5). I got it mild, but it still had some good heat on this. I liked the salad and all the spices, tart and sweet flavors. The portion-size was good to share. Personally, I wish the beef was more tender. I felt the lemongrass was lacking. "JPP" Crab Stir-Fried Noodle (3.5/5). Thin rice noodles pan-fried with eggs, crab meat, and green onions. Overall, 3.5 stars.

Decent Thai food. We tried the place during lunch hours but it was not a very pleasant experience because of lack of AC on a 90 degrees hot day. Service was fast considering we only had 1 server. We tried Chicken satay, Devil wings, JCP crab noodles and mango stick rice but the only dishes which stood out were the 1. Mango sticky rice - You can't goof up this fool proof dessert and 2. Devil wings - Crispy, Sweet and a tad spicy. Super good. Other dishes were pretty average. Wouldn't go out of my way to visit this again!

Love the authentic flavors, the serving is big, the place is clean and near. The service is fast as well. Will recommend!

Average Thai food in a dated restaurant. Came here for lunch on a weekday and it was pretty empty. The Roti was very flaky and buttery; wasn't a traditional roti but I liked it. Also got a papaya salad that I forgot to take a picture of; it was refreshing and definitely would recommend. The curries were disappointing. It was just a small bowl of coconut milk and chili paste with some meat. What happened to all the veggies and herbs that typically go into a Thai curry? It also came with a random spring roll and rice in the shape of a cone.. which was odd. There's better Thai elsewhere.

Decent Thai spot. Went here for lunch with my coworker. I ordered the JPP crab noodle and a Thai iced tea. Service is a tad slow because they only have one waitress. Huge portion. I took half of it Togo and was still stuffed. But I really enjoyed it and would come back again to try other items.

I love the lunch specials here! I've been here many times for lunch, as I work nearby, and the food is always delicious and service is super quick. Prices are also really reasonable too. Highly recommend during lunchtime or anytime really, it's delicious Thai food!!

You can add your choice of protein to almost most of their entrees, and the pork belly has always stood out to me! It's juicy, and crispy, but has enough fat to meat ratio where you don't feel like you're eating straight out oily fat. When I tried a soup dish with their crispy pork belly and it was STILL CRISPY... I knew this protein was goated. Pad Thai- 9/10: my fav pad thai is when they don't overdo on the sweetness. This place does it well where it's mostly savory forward and adds a touch of sweetness, which is the best way to make a pad thai imo, a solid dish! basil fried rice- 10/10: this is my favorite, always get it with medium/ hot and that kick just adds that extra umph to your tastebuds. The flavoring and aromatics of this dish is great Khao soi- 8/10: the curry is super solid I actually love to sip this by itself. The noodles are cooked to perfection and always bouncy and curly, I like to add beef to this dish. Dessert Roti- 1000/10: I didn't know roti could be made into a dessert until I tried it here... it's so flakey, crispy, and the caramelized sugar & condensed milk on the outside coating makes it perfect to pair with some ice cream if I had any. I could eat 10 pieces of these

An absolute delight! I am surprised I haven't tried this spot until now :)…read more I came to Siam Station on a weekday for lunch, and while there was a small wait, it only took max 5 minutes to get in with 5 parties ahead of me. They do a Yelp waitlist, so keep your eyes peeled for that if you're going during a busier period. Once they notify you that your table is ready, you'll need to go to the counter to check in and get seated. This place is definitely meant for dine-in, however I saw a lot of people do to-go orders as well. My partner and I opted for dine-in and ordered the following menu items: * Beef salad: Actually crazy portions, I think the bang for your buck was definitely there. The salad was coated in a nice umami Thai sauce, and the beef was cut into nice, digestible pieces, while the vegetables provided a refreshing taste. * Thai eggplant basil: This was my favorite dish of the meal. It comes with a protein of choice (we picked chicken), but the eggplant itself was so tender and meaty, it truly rounded out the dish. * Khao soi: This had a nice curry flavor, and the noodles had a good bounce! It's not the best khao soi I've had, but it satisfied a craving. * Mango sticky rice: They definitely used champagne mangoes, which was awesome, paired with the visuals of the sticky rice dyed with butterfly pea, it made for a nice, light dessert at the end. Overall, this spot was truly delicious. The service and ambiance of the whole restaurant were superb, and I would definitely come back again!

The menu is laid out by geographic regions, which I thought was a really neat way to showcase the many different cuisines. We started with summer rolls and calamari, both of which were excellent. The summer rolls were fresh and bright, with a delicious peanut sauce that was among the best my sister (a self-described "Peanut Sauce Snob") and I had ever had. The large pieces of calamari were expertly cooked, still very tender even after frying. There was a hint of spice in the calamari dipping sauce that I quite enjoyed. For entrees, we got Pad Thai, Pad See You, and Panang Curry -- all favorites we've had many places (despite the many alluring new-to-me options, I admit we all defaulted to known quantities) -- and we were impressed across the board. Everything was flavorful, had just the right amount of spice, and came out steaming hot. We really enjoyed the cozy atmosphere of this restaurant, which felt lively and friendly. It was very busy, with a line out the door by the time we left, so reservations are a good idea!

We got the Penang braised beef, pad see ew, pad ka pow, Thai hot pot, and mango sticky rice. The Penang braised beef is basically like the Penang curry - very rich, well spiced, and the beef is tender. My favorite dish here. Pad see ew is good but fairly standard - pricing is pretty high for a dish like this - $20+ for a noodle dish. The pad ka pow is good - something I normally wouldn't get, in favor of curry, but it was great for sharing and open up my horizons beyond my typical order. Thai hot pot for $35 was really disappointing - there is good amount of beef but they do not do a good job with the meat cuts and it is easy to overcook due to the constant fire inside cooking up the soup. Mango sticky rice is good - mangoes were sweet and fresh, but the rice was on the undercooked side. Service is good as water refills were present and they brought the dishes in a timely manner. Overall, decent Thai food, but coming from Seattle, this did not wow me the same way as my friends do who live around this area.

I usually skip writing reviews for places that disappoint me for the first time but after a series of letdowns, I felt compelled to share my opinion. We ordered a variety of dishes all spicy level of heat, including the Panang Braised Beef, Crispy Dragon Ball, Tom Kha Chicken and Shrimp (which came with an extra charge), Beef Pad Kew Mao, and the yellow curry (which was out of stock, which was odd since we ordered our food on a Friday around 6:30 pm). The Tom Kha soup was by far the worst dish we had. It tasted like watered-down coconut water, with the proteins and mushrooms just thrown in. The broth lacked depth and was broken, as seen in the pictures. I was so disappointed that I almost drove back to the restaurant to ask for a refund, but my fiancée didn't want me to seem cheap for doing so. The Crispy Dragon Ball "Salad" was another disappointment. It had no greens other than the cilantro that came with it, so I ended up taking some out and adding it to the Tom Kha soup to try to add some depth and flavor to the broth. The flavor of the dish was great, but they should clearly label it as a warm salad without greens or dressing. The Panang Braised Beef had a bland curry flavor, but the meat was very tender and fell apart easily. Pad Kee Mao, recall the beginning of the review where I mentioned we ordered everything spicy level heat. This dish, however, was utterly inedible. How could you possibly make it so spicy that the noodles would instantly burn your tongue and teeth? I shed a few tears trying to eat it, not wanting to waste my money. The result was a very bland, uninspired Thai taste that lingered in my mouth. The next day, we decided to order Thai food again, but this time from Shana Thai, another Thai restaurant off Moffet Blvd. They never disappoint. The ambiance was average, typical of a regular-sized restaurant. Did not take photos of the curry because it's just a red curry nothing special and the Pad Kee Mao I was just done with the whole experience, basically resigned to the fact that we had wasted our money on shitty over pieced Thai food.
