We weren't that hungry so we just ordered two appetizers: fried egg rolls and roti. Fried egg rolls (3/5): Very cool presentation! I liked how each egg roll came in a shot glass with carrot and cucumber slices. That said, the egg roll and the dipping sauce could have been more flavorful Roti (3.5/5): Also nicely presented! The roti was tasty but I wish the red curry was spicier and that there was more of it. Overall, the dishes at Mint Leaf are very instagrammable and the space feels like it would be a nice spot for a date night. I appreciated how vegetarian friendly the restaurant is. Beautiful ambience, friendly and accommodating service and very flavorful food! Their menu was a little oddly organized but overall they had a good variety of vegetarian, seafood and meat dishes. You could adjust spice levels on most dishes (they indicated where you couldn't) . They also have a separate menu for vegetarians which is great! Here is the breakdown of what we ordered and how it fared: Saratoga curry puffs - 6/10 Spicy basil noodles - 6/10 Pad thai - 9/10. This cane wrapped in an egg! It was the first time I had pad thai like this. The flavors were also great and it had heat to it from red chillis. Spicy peppercorn with basa - 10/10. This was an explosion of flavors and the vegetables in the stir fry were also delicious Penang curry with tofu - 9/10. The curry was very flavorful and the veggies were balanced. We loved the roti and the yellow curry, the udon noodles were sweeter than I thought they were, and the steak was a bit stiff even tho I requested medium rare. The food was simple & delicious . However i felt the menu to be on the very price side for the portion provided. Just the thai iced tea was 7.5 $ & pineapple chicken was more than 24 $. The chicken skewers & pineapple chicken was to the point. The spicy pork belly was nit juicy as expected . Simple shrimp tempura were also very pricy. The service was not as expected. Thai is my absolute favorite. This place is extremely good. I had the spring rolls and vegetable entree. I'm impressed. Didn't even need chili tray! Best part? BYOB. Yup , buy your own wine or beer and you can serve yourself. Def will be back! read more

The yellow curry does not come with rice so when you add the protein and rice you're looking at $30 plus taxes and a drunken noodles with shrimp goes for $25. For chicken skewers hits you at $19, very pricey for the size of the portion and what's a regular Thai place in the area. In terms of flavor, the drunken noodles were really good, but the yellow curry was not that great. Good location downtown Saratoga. read more

The Roti appetizer was simple but delicious with pan fried puff pastry triangles and a peanut sauce side. The Spicy Basil Fried Rice was excellent with a big scoop of tasty fried rice sprinkled througout with bits of red pepper, tender green beans, basil, and white chicken pieces. Crispy pieces of basil were also sprinkled around the top of the plate. Order it medium-hot, and ask for a side of red chile sauce to adjust the heat upward and add more flavor. The interior looked very traditional and gives off a high end vibe. I got the Pad See Ew with beef cubes ($22), and I really liked it! Things to try: Appetizers- Curry puffs - a must try here. One order comes with 4 puffs and each puff is served in a spoon with peanut sauce and cucumber salad. 10/10 Roti with curry - standard but tasty Mains - Avocado Green Curry - the best green curry I have ever tasted. It comes hot and you can adjust the spice level according to your taste. The added avocados in this curry take this to the next level. Must try in my opinion. Mango Red curry - it has chunks of pineapple and mango that work so well with the red curry. Another great option to try. Note: The curries don't come with rice so you need to order a side of rice. Usually one main curry is enough for two people with their own side of rice. In curries you can add tofu or vegetables in addition to the veggies that the curry comes with. In tofu you have an option of Fried tofu or fresh. I personally like to add fried tofu. Spicy garlic noodles - Garlic-basil-chili sautéed Japanese udon noodle and green beans. Very very tasty! Another must try here. Drunken Noodles - Similar flavor profile as the spicy garlic noodles but with flat rice noodles with veggies. The flat rice noodles are soooooo well made. All in all - amazing food! The ambiance is also great with elegant decor. Love their plush velvet green and purple chairs. The staff is very kind and patient. I really wanted to like this Thai place. I've been looking for a replacement ever since Old Siam closed. Mint Leaf Cuisine is *not* it, sadly. First of all, it is EXPENSIVE. The same dish that is $12-$16 at Siam Station in Cupertino is $19-$26 at Mint Leaf. Second, the taste does not justify the high cost. So it feels like the money is going into Saratoga rent instead of the food. Third, the takeout packing was inconsiderate. The mixed vegetables with shrimp came in the same kind of weak plastic container as the pad thai and spicy fried rice, except in a loose plastic bag. Upon taking the entree out of the bag, liquid poured all over the counter and the floor. This dish should have been packed inside a soup container! My family gave a thumbs down to the chicken satay skewers, which had a texture and seasoning that nobody liked. So I will keep looking for an Old Siam replacement. read more

We were a group of three adults and two toddlers dining together. The bill included an 18% gratuity charge. We requested the server to inquire if the gratuity could be waived since two of the five guests were toddlers. The server was accommodating and agreed to waive the gratuity. We paid the bill, including a tip, and were ready to leave when another team member appeared and insisted that the gratuity must be paid in full, declaring the previous payment void. This approach is unacceptable and unprofessional. Agreeing to one arrangement and then reversing it after payment undermines trust and reflects poorly on the establishment's business practices. While the food and service were satisfactory, this inconsistent and confrontational behavior left a very negative impression. We made a reservation for dinner before a show (at The Mountain Winery, 10 minutes drive away). The restaurant was nicely decorated, service was attentive, and the food was beautifully presented! I was impressed they had an extensive vegetarian menu (available upon request). We ordered the modern potstickers to start-- they were perfectly crisp, not oily, filled with fresh well seasoned vegetables, and drizzled with delicious sauces! I had a hard time choosing an entree (so many many vegetarian options!!) and went with "Golden Tofu" (Sautéed yellow curry with tofu, egg, garlic, onion, carrot, zucchini, green peas, celery, and red bell peppers)-- very flavorful curry and the egg makes it even heartier! I loved it but it was generous so I took half home. I picked Mint Leaf because their menu sounded interesting and consisted of a good variety of options for both my husband and I. They have indoor and outdoor seating, service was quick and friendly, and the place was clean and well-kept in general. They have tables inside with bright, plush chairs. I was slightly hot when we were first seated and our waitress offered to turn on a fan for me. I felt slightly embarrassed... My face was red though so I set my pride aside and took the fan offer. I ordered the spicy noodles mild with prawns. It was delicious and not very spicy. I was worried about ordering a 3 level spice and it being too hot but I would have been most likely fine had I ordered the dish to be more spicy. The udon were cooked and seasoned well. My husband had the spicy basil, level 3 but he said it wasn't that hot either. He liked his dish though and ate every single bite! Both our meals came with their modern pot stickers. I really liked it and wish I had ordered a full appetizer order of it to start. However, my lunch was really filling and would have most likely regretted over-ordering. read more

We decided to have lunch here with two families and was a great dining experience. They have an amazing menu selection and the ambience inside is very traditional. Their staff are also very friendly. We enjoyed all the dishes as they were flavorful and fresh. Although it bills itself as a Thai Fusion restaurant, it is one of the more authentic Thai restaurant in the area. The interior feels warm and cozy with lots of Thai art and sculptures. But what makes this place special is their food and friendly service. We ordered the following (this time): 1. Fresh Sesame rolls with shrimp - fresh lettuce, carrots, rice noodles, wrapped in a sesame encrusted rice wrapper and topped with half of a cooked shrimp and a dollop of tobiko, served with sweet vinaigrette sauce and Thai peanut sauce. Very fresh ingredients and the shrimp was firm. 2. Thai Basil with Green Beans and Chicken - sautéed green beans with red bell peppers in a garlic chili sauce. The beans were cooked to perfection, sweet and firm. The chicken was tender and flavorful. One of my pet peeves with Thai restaurants offering different meat in the same dish is that they sometime pre-cook the different meats and they just throw the meat in just before they serve the dish. Most of the pre-cook meats are overly done and tasteless. Not so here! 3. Panang Curry with beef - a red curry with zucchini, red bell peppers, green beans and lime leafs. OMG , the beef cubes were tender, juicy and actually had curry flavor! Even though I don't normally eat rice, I had to have some rice to go with this wonderful dish. 4. Mint Leaf Cuisine Pad Thai - ok, I have not been to Thailand yet. But I do watch a lot of Thailand food videos (seen Mark Wiens?) and I know what a real Pad Thai should look like.
