When we got there, looking at the menu, I quickly realized it's basically a fancy k-style poke bowl restaurant. Because the photos on Yelp are not up-to-date, their price per meal has gone up quite a bit: price went from $17.95 to almost $22 for a bento box. The portions are big I have to say, and the poke are fresh, but I want to say if you order there, try not to get too much sauce on the poke or it will quickly become very salty. Whoever decided to make a 44oz bowl is a genius.. At first I was overwhelmed by Omee J 2's selection of what to include in my bowl, but all of the possibilities are delicious so it really doesn't matter that much. Add-ons I would definitely not skip include: garlic butter and grilled corn for my base toppings, spicy crab meat, and tobiko. For sauce, you can't go wrong with classic unagi or garlic ponzu. Solid spot if ure looking for healthy hearty options with large portions! Like everyone said, it's like Asian Chipotle. One standout I will say is that I truly commend them for being SO CLEAN. How could anyone resist poke? I, for one, couldn't resist and got a scoop of the spicy salmon only to be disappointed by it's rubbery texture. I almost thought I was eating tuna instead. Salmon is usually fatty and soft, but this salmon had tuna like texture. The spicy sauce also lacked salt or any flavor. Not really spicy. But beyond the poke options, everything else is pretty good. I got chicken as well which was delicious. The garlic butter is AMAZING. I was worried it'd be too strong and buttery but it was not! The bowls aren't cheap at $21 for the base cost, but the portions are generous and one bowl would be enough for two people to share (at least for lunch, in my opinion). You get your choice of five toppings to a bowl, which is difficult because they offer so many great options. My faves are the broccoli, beets, and grilled corn. I get purple rice & kale as my base and it is absolutely fire. Brought my sister here after initially coming here last year with friends and she loves it as much as I do!! Staff are always friendly. The best way to describe this spot to someone who hasn't been is a Korean/Japanese Chipotle. They have an expansive selection of hot proteins and other items as well as poke and cold items, so it can be a little bit of decision overload. You've gotta make your mind up on which route to go so you end up with something cohesive. After a weak start to building my bowl, I didn't decide which route I wanted to go, I was able to turn it around and still make something quite delicious. I went with a few different poke options and really liked them all. The only thing I didn't love and would skip out on next time is the crab salad (I should listened to John D's review because he was right that it was over seasoned). Overall a super positive experience and I look forward to coming back here. A friend suggested we come here for our monthly dinner outs - and while at first I was hesitant in trying it out, I'm glad we did! The restaurant is located in a shopping center that shares quite a few shops - Happy Lemon, Yogurtland, Smash Burger, etc. I'm not sure which shop used to be in this location, but I believe Omee J2 is fairly new. The inside is nicely decorated with plants and clean seating areas. There is a big space for various groups to gather and lots of room for people to have conversations. We found a nice open area near the front wall to sit down. After everyone was ready - we went up and ordered. Since it's a build-your-own kind of place - we looked over the items and put in our orders once at a time. Everyone ended up with something slightly different. I had the purple rice with steak and veggies, a soy sauce egg and garlic ponzu sauce. I also asked for the summer night sauce (very delectable) on the side. There was a good rice to meat to veggie ratio and the sauces that I picked didn't overshadow the flavors in the bowl at all. It was delicious and I felt very healthy for having fresh veggies. Service was great as well - the staff was very friendly and answered all our questions. They were also patient when the six of us weren't sure what we wanted and waited for us to decide without hurrying us up. Overall, a very nice place to get some healthier meal options and hang out.
