Yuki was a very intimate, cozy little sushi place with a lot of great options. My friend and I came for dinner on a Tuesday night and got seated very quickly; the waiters were very efficient and attentive. We got a small bowl of soba noodles for free right when we sat down which was very nice. The soft shell crab was flavorful albeit a little soggy. The rolls we got were delicious and my favorite was the hotate nigiri!

$25 for one order of Uni (sea urchin) sushi. It comes with two tiny pieces of uni. It's delicious but very pricey, especially if you add 20% tip and tax on top of it. The lunch menu's salmon teriyaki is delicious.

Hey there Party People Yuki Sushi is a fantastic little Gem of a Sushi restaurant. The atmosphere really puts you in a Tokyo street Sushi house. It usually is busy enough that people have to wait outside for a table. We got there at 5:00 and luckily sat right down. My hubby got his usual sushi order. Tuna and salmon rolls as well as a rainbow roll. He was impressed with the higher grade of fish used for the rolls. My Brother-in-law got the Curry stew with pork katsu. You can tell the chef exactly what level of heat/spicy you want for your curry. That is a real bonus because you can get exactly what you want if you crave spice go for it if you have a sensitive pallet then tone down the spicy. You can have it however you desire. He said that the stew was perfect and a total flavor bomb in the best way possible I had the Yakatori beef. The presentation was great it came in its own cast iron pot. The broth was a little on the sweet side which was exactly what I was looking for. It was a huge portion so you can easily share. The noodles were cooked perfectly they weren't gummy. If you in the area you have got to give this place a try. Be kind to one another

TLDR: I'm not sure what the clipboard in front of the restaurant was, but it doesn't appear to be too important as a couple behind me held the door open for me while I was trying to figure out what to do with it and the host seated us both at separate tables in spite of them not using the clipboard. When I got back I noticed my name scratched out to indicate that I was served, but among the numerous people I had seen enter I had only seen one name below Came here for lunch and was greeted with friendly service and an option between a regular table and a tatami, which involved having to take off your shoes. I decided to opt for the regular table, and was given water while I figured out what to order. The ambiance is sleek yet comforting - small enough to feel intimate, while still having enough room to seat plenty of people with a section for tatamis for those who want a more authentic experience. I decided to get the sashimi combo, which came with miso soup, a salad and plain rice. The sashimi was good (one of the pieces was a little harder to chew in comparison to the others but was still edible), but not too filling (Luckily the sides helped with that lol). It's no Sushi Arashi (which is probably a hard standard to live up to considering the thick cuts of sashimi that they use) but it was enjoyable enough. If I were to come back again, I'd probably go for one of the rolls instead

I've been to Yuki sushi a few times and totally forget to write a review because I'm too busy coming back to eat! Although smaller, Yuki sushi is quaint in their presentation. I enjoy seeing the chalkboard with different specials and food availability on the wall. It is very creative compared to other restaurants. I came for lunch on a Wednesday and was greeted by the friendly staff. I'd like to give a special thank you to tick, Jackie, and Nicole for your service, friendliness and help make and service delicious food for the community....(plus many others)!

Amuse-Bouche - Soba Noodles

Yuki Sushi was a go-to spot for my wife and I when we lived in Santa Clara, and I'm happy to report that over five years later they are still going strong, delivering quality Japanese meals in a cozy and chic environment. Each meal starts off with an amuse bouche of soba noodles which is a pleasant addition that you don't see too often. One of the things I appreciate about Yuki Sushi is that while they certainly specialize in actual sushi dishes, they have an extensive offering of both hot and cold Japanese dishes beyond your typical rolls and nigiri. The Beef Tataki was a satisifying appetizer, though they certainly stretch the definition of "seared" as this was pretty much just straight-up raw. Nothing wrong with that and it was still a tasty dish, just be mentally prepared for it to moo back at you when you eat it. The Chicken Kara Age was a generous portion, but honestly it wasn't my favorite variation of this popular dish. I found the breading and chicken itself to be overly dry, and they don't serve it with any kind of dipping sauce which is a shame. Even a simple Kewpie mayo on the side would go a long way to improving it. The sushi scene in San Jose is pretty crowded with options, but Yuki Sushi sets itself a cut above with its enjoyable atmosphere and extensive menu options. If you are craving some Japanese food in Santa Clara, it's definitely worth a visit.

Best sushi I have had so far in San Jose! I am a biggggg salmon lover and this spot was perfect for that. I got the sunset roll and it was just so refreshing. Peep the menu, 10 big slices of sashimi for good prices too. Inside is pretty small so it seems like it can get pretty busy fast!

Despite the 1k+ reviews on yelp, Yuki Sushi is a huge disappointment. We came here for lunch, and had the probably worst chirashi don in my life. Maybe they decided to add a "halloween flair" to the dish, but the entire don tasted extremely sweet as if im eating candy. The "sweet vegetables" which arent usually in a chirashi don (and in very large number relative to the fish here) is overseasoned with sugar and the taste heavily bleeds into everything else. Tamago was also very sweet, as well as the tuna (for some reason). The little pieces of fish had a rubbery texture and didnt really have much flavour to them; you can get better quality from grocery store sashimi. Finally the rest was extremely cold as if it was taken from the refridgerator. As can be shown in the picture, 30% of the rice is uncovered, and just under half of that is veges and tamago. Overall for 26$ this dish is nothing but a grocery store leftover that's recoated in sugar and repackaged in a ceramic for easy profit. What a disgrace. Needless to say, i will never come back for another meal.

March 2024 - sushi special (lunch)

Yuki Sushi is one of our go-to's for solid sushi. We like the Santa Clara location best for the cozy restaurant space, service and ease of parking. I've dined in for lunch and dinner and gotten takeout, and they are always reliable. I like getting the sushi special for lunch. Staff are always warm and attentive. The space is small, but we're always seated within 10-15 minutes when we go. Our favorites are the sushi lunch/dinner entrees and sunset roll. For 3 people for takeout, the total came out to about 30$/person, which is fairly standard for Bay Area sushi.

Very cozy Japanese restaurant! We got the yuki special which was a huge pot with udon, broccoli, fish, shrimp, clams, tofu, and meat. There was a bit of a wait around dinner time on Saturday but the food came pretty fast after we got seated. Would definitely revisit!

My favorite bar is the bar seating has a foot placement which other places do not. Bathroom was also clean and there were instructions on how to eat dry ramen. Food: The soup was delicious! Phenomenal, the texture, marinade was tiers above other ramen places and you get an entire egg not just a half! To preface, I'm comparing my experience with the Tsujita in LA that I have been to before. The tsukemen is not as flavorful as I quite remembered. It wasn't until near the end of the meal that I noticed the broth was concentrated at the bottom. I highly suggest mixing the broth first before eating. This was not an issue when I ate at the LA location. The salmon bowl is a new dish I did not try previously. There's a unique smell to the dish, which either comes from the sauce or fish, that can be off-putting to some people. I suggest to go with the tsukemen the restaurant is known for.

You order at the front, then grab a table and wait for your name to be called. We got the chicken katsu with curry, karaage with curry, and tonkatsu. We also ordered menchi katsu a la carte (side) which came with two pieces. All of the curry came with rice or cabbage and you can choose the spice level (1-3). Level 1 is a mild with a kick. Pickled radish is additional dollar, kinda wish the meal came with it. Honestly would recommend just getting the choice of protein with the curry because it's a couple dollars more than getting a la carte... Curry was very good! Nice flavors and the rice helped enhance it. I liked the menchi katsu the most. It is basically a deep fried beef hamburger with crumb coating, flavors were really good and was juicy; came with 2 pieces for a la carte. Can't go wrong with chicken or tonkatsu too. The chicken karaage came with a mayo sauce on the side! I liked it, but I think this would be better on its own. Overall would come back and try other options.

It is straightforward with a good mix of udon, rice dishes, small bites, and drinks, which I really appreciated. The food felt delicate but still had layers of flavor. Nothing was heavy or overdone. The rice was one of my favorite parts. It was crispy on the outside and cooked perfectly inside, which made it so satisfying. The chicken karaage was also really good. Crispy, tender, flavorful, and exactly what you want when you order karaage. The only thing I would probably skip next time is the mixed sake drinks. They are fruity and fun, but they tasted like they were made with sugary syrup. So if you do not want a sugar bomb or you are watching sugar calories, I would stay away from those. The inside has a cozy feel that reminded me a little of something you would find in Japan, but with a bit of an American touch. It felt clean, casual, and comfortable. The staff was friendly and attentive without making anything feel rushed. Also we had our son so they brought share plate without us even asking for him. I loved that they considered that. Other than the edamame, which was very bland, everything was very flavorful. The pork was very soft, and the sliced thin beef paired really well with the tofu in the niku tofu. Both dishes came piping hot, and were very comforting, like home-cooked food. The shishito peppers came with a lot of bonito flakes; they're charred very well and not spicy at all.
