    Miso so good!

Great food at 8 PM on Lincoln Avenue! It's a small miracle. Very fresh sushi. Really nice Service lots of stuff to go lots of DoorDashers. I can see why Willow glenn loves the sushi so much. Also did not cost an arm and a leg. It was priced fairly. I highly recommend it. It's not huge maybe have 12 tables. Good stuff.

We were craving sushi and decided to try Sushi Arashi in Willow Glen for weekday lunch. The space is pretty small, and when we came in it was fairly empty, but that actually made it nice and quiet. I ordered the nigiri combo and my brother got the sashimi combo. The fish was pretty good and the sushi rice was okay--not amazing, but definitely not bad, especially for the price. I also got uni since I love uni. We shared the chicken karaage too, which was crispy, juicy, and tasty, though the sauce was just okay. The staff was super nice and really attentive the whole time. Overall, it was a good experience and I would come back!

For this review, it will be based off my my recent 2 visits. I always find myself retuning to this place for a meal. First time we got the salmon dance, salmon kama, and 4 rolls. That was enough to fill 4 people. The rolls were good but the salmon dance won all our vote for favorite part of the meal. Second visit: Def had to order the Salmon Dance again. Salmon is fresh and complimented with the radish, fish roe, and ponzu sauce beautifully. The yellowtail appetizer was delicious as well and got a nice kick. All of us liked the omg roll. That one impressed me. Rainbow roll is a good solid roll. Dinner combo means we get to select 2 items off the a set list for the price of ~$26, which is worth it considering the portion they give you. They give you full sized rolls when you order them with your dinner combos. We were all stuffed and even had leftovers. Service was good. The food came out fast and water was refilled when they noticed it running low. Until next time!

I used to eat here frequently before COVID because the food and service were consistently good. Unfortunately, over the years, I've noticed both the quality of the food and the customer service have declined. I recently decided to give the restaurant another chance because they offer a kids' chicken teriyaki entrée, which isn't something many sushi restaurants have on their menu. When placing my takeout order, I requested the teriyaki sauce on the side and asked if green onions could be added to the rice. My toddler loves green onions and won't eat his rice without them. The woman taking phone orders on 7/28/26 told me they don't allow any customization. I explained to her that this exact request had been accommodated several times before, including on a recent order the day prior through DoorDash, and that I was happy to pay any additional charge for the green onions. But she continued repeating that they don't customize orders and initially refused my request multiple times. Eventually, she said there would be an extra charge but again refused to tell me what the charge would be. Instead of providing a straightforward answer, she told me three times that the total would be "subject to an increase" and I would know the cost was when I arrived. What made the interaction especially frustrating was that she was the one taking my order and entering it into the system, so it seemed reasonable to expect she could tell me the cost over the phone. At that point, I told her to forget the green onions because it seemed like so much trouble to add them. To make matters worse, the teriyaki sauce that I requested on the side was so hot that it warped the plastic container it was packaged in. Since heat-damaged plastic can raise concerns about chemical and microplastic exposure, I wasn't comfortable serving it to my toddler and threw it away. This experience was disappointing because it wasn't about paying extra, I was more than willing to do that. It was the unwillingness to accommodate a simple request that had been honored before, the lack of transparency about pricing, and the poor customer service that left me questioning whether I'll return again.

Looked up sushi places near me and saw this one. Photos looked promising and the reviews were good so we decided to try it. I'm glad we did. The fish was so fresh. That was the best Hamachi yellowtail we've ever had. I didn't expect to like the tempura as much as I did. The squash or whatever it was was my favorite. The crunch of the tempura and the shrimp and veggies were delicious. The rest of the sushi was good. Pretty standard as far as sushi goes. Sushi is either good or it's not and this one is good. Located in Willow Glen. Street parking or there's the parking lot across the street. Interior is nothing special but as long as it's clean and the food and the service is good that's all the matters. I do wish they had spicy edamame besides just the regular edamame that's the only thing missing for me

Lunch bento with tempura, sashimi and gyoza

If you are looking for affordable lunch bento, then look no further! This spot has a great selection of bentos which all include miso soup, salad, rice, and 4 california rolls. The inside is cozy and cute, and we did not have to wait on a weekday lunch. We opted for three different pick-3 options: sashimi, katsu and tempura for one, sashmi, gyoza and tempura for the second, and sashimi, karaage and tempura for the third. It was great to mix and match and get such huge portions for only $20 each bento. If you only choose 2 items it will be $18. All the food is fresh and delicious. We had plenty of leftovers to take home. Great deal for the price! I just wish they could substitute the cali roll for a hand roll or maki of equal price, but they do not allow for substitions. Regardless, I would still come back (:

Ordered for takeout this past Saturday. Got the hot kiss baked roll minus avocado, dinner combo with spicy tuna & salmon shioyaki, and beef gyoza. Service was excellent, and the interior of the restaurant was clean and bright with ample seating for guests. All of the items tasted fresh and delicious, notably the hot kiss topped off with yummy langoustine. We were happy with our experience here, especially with Aqui a few doors down where we were able to pick up some swirls to go with our dinner from Sushi Arashi.

the service was amazing the tuna and the cut was spectacular. On my way over there as I type this to have some more tuna and sake bombs. Bless

Always an amazing time here! I may be biased since three years ago my now husband and I had our first date here, and every time we have been back it is just as great of an experience Our go to's are the monkey brains and the mango roll. The menu is large enough that we can try something different every time!

Tried this place because I was in the area. The shrimp balls the star of the show! Super flavorful and delicious! The lion king roll had good flavor however was mushy and kept falling apart. The rest of the rolls were good just not the best or memorable. The services was good, the food came out quick and the server was attentive. It is very small inside however there is space.

Tried Sushi Arashi takeout for the first time tonight. Had the mixed tempura appetizer and pan fried gyoza. It was excellent. The tempura serving was huge and included all sorts of veggies and two shrimp. Tempura broccoli is my favorite and there were three pieces! They even included extra dipping sauce, as I requested. There was so much I could barely finish it. The gyoza was very good, too. I like the pan fried style rather than deep fried. Yummy dipping sauce. Prices are reasonable. I will definitely be back.

One of my favorite Japanese restaurant finds in San Jose! We love stopping by for a weekend lunch or dinner during the weekday. It's usually always crowded and the atmosphere is nice. The staff are always welcoming and attentive. I usually like the variety of the bento boxes with the marinated meat option with fried tempura and California rolls. The fried tempura is crispy and tastes delicious with the sauce. The California roll is creamy and smooth. The salad and rice is a really nice touch to the meal. I'll definitely be by soon for my next Japanese food fix, highly recommend checking it out!

Forgot to take photos of the Sake Don, Chirashi and Sashimi plates, only remembered taking photo of the first roll order that came out. The roll was just ok. The rice was a bit too soft, more like rice cake. Considering the sauces that were on that roll, it was fairly bland. The fish slices were thick and fresh enough to not have strong fishy aftertaste even though we had quite a lot of them. The chirashi bowl and sashimi plate came with the same exact fish selection: salmon, tuna, yellowtail, albacore/white tuna (I think), mackerel, and escolar. Yes, this place is one of those that has escolar. It didn't register in my mind at first until I ate a couple of pieces, I thought it was pretty good, but then I remembered what I read about that fish ... We quickly finish up, pay, and drove home with minutes to spare. Price to quality is decent compared to other sushi place, I have had better sushi at similar price point but it is not bad at all. Payment and tipping practice still with paper bill that was left on the table for us to fill.

The salmon miso fusion nigiri completely blew us away. Everyone at the table was awestruck after the first bite. And the uni deserves a special mention. Spicy tuna roll 2. Spider roll 3. Rainbow roll 4. Tiger roll 5. Miso soup 6. Seaweed salad We also ordered Asahi beer and hot sake. The food was very good and we gave a solid 10/10 (the ratio of rice to filling was well balanced), the hot sake was smooth, and the beer was very cold. Everything was priced well compared to other sushi restaurants. Most rolls we ordered ranged from $6.95 to $13. Staff were very nice and attentive. The restaurant was clean and quiet. Two things I want to highlight:: (1) the restaurant closes at 9pm, and stops serving new clients at 8:45pm. The service was really good though. Food came out fast both times after ordering. The gentleman that was helping our table was very kind and attentive. He kept coming by to check on how everything was going. The food itself was pretty good, but there is a lack of consistency from last year compared to this year. I did not want to make a fuss about it at the restaurant, but I was quite disappointed with the quality of the fish. It wasn't as fresh this time. The restaurant has a cozy vibe. There's 30 minute parking available at the front of the restaurant. It is all street parking. The first time I was here we ordered: -Dragon Roll -Beef Roll -Gyoza -Chicken Karaage -Fried Calamari -Salmon Maki -Salmon Avocado -Double Double Salmon -49ers Roll Second Time Order: -Alaska Roll -Salmon Maki -Rock n Roll -Chicken Karaage appetizer -Fried Calamari appetizer -Golden California Roll -Dragon Roll -Salmon Avocado The Alaska roll according to the menu has spicy cooked salmon, cucumber, topped with unagi sauce and tobiko. The unagi sauce seemed to be more at the bottom than drizzled at top, but the waitress was kind enough to ask me if I wanted some of the unagi sauce on the side, which was very nice. It made a big difference in terms of flavor. Eating the Alaska roll without the extra unagi sauce, I was only able to taste the Sriracha. By the way, it did not mention on the menu that the Alaska roll was going to have both spicy mayo and Sriracha on it. I'm not a fan of Sriracha. The spicy mayo I can do, but the Sriracha ruined it for me. The dragon roll was ordered last year and this year. Please see the photos for how inconsistent the roll is. There were more ingredients the first time we ordered this roll. There was more avocado last year. The gyozas were pretty good. They came out hot and crispy, but not dry. They had a good amount of flavor. The beef roll had asparagus and beef in it. It's a pretty good combination. The chicken Karaage was good both times, but I did notice it was juicier when we ordered it last year. The salmon maki was much better last year than when I ordered it this year. I am not sure if a different person was making the rolls, but the rolls didn't fall apart last time like it did today. Most importantly though, the salmon was fresher the first time I had it. They definitely changed something other than the appearance. It was also pretty upsetting that the pieces of salmon maki were uneven. Only 2 of the pieces were tall, whereas last year, I was given all 6 pieces that had the same height. It makes it look like the sushi I got today was less. I had all the photos of the sushi from last year on my old phone, so I wasn't able to show the waiter or the owner the comparison. The rock n roll is a good portion, but there was barely any bbq eel in it. It was literally just a little tiny piece in the corner of the sushi. I do appreciate that the avocado is fresh and creamy in the rolls that we ordered. 49ers roll - is one of my go to rolls for something light and refreshing. The lemon slices add a really nice touch. I love that the lemon is thinly sliced and the rind was actually included. It adds a bit of tartness to the flavor, which I find satisfying. The salmon was very fresh. I only ordered it last year and not this time since my husband and I were at a prior event that had food, but we were still craving sushi lol. The fried calamari was good, but this time that we got it, the portion was significantly smaller. I'm not sure why. It has good texture and crispiness. There was also a piece of calamari that ended up in our chicken Karaage, which we didn't know what it was at first, but later found out it was calamari lol. No complaints about the Double Salmon Roll. If you love raw salmon, more raw salmon, avocado and tobiko, that one is a good option. The Golden California roll was okay. We felt like it had too much batter though. Salmon Avocado roll was a lot better the first time we were here as well. I don't know if their raw fish supplier changed or something, but the salmon definitely didn't taste the same. I know it's been a year and some may think how do I remember? I'm a sushi fanatic/connoisseur. When I eat sushi and it's good, I have a little happy dance that I do. First time I was here I did the happy dance and that's why I wanted to come back here again. The prices are very affordable here and the service is great. However, I was pretty disappointed today (8/8/2026) with the presentation of the rolls and the freshness of the salmon or lack of freshness I should say. I would love to come back again, but I just don't want to be disappointed. I'm really hoping to have a better food experience here in the future.
