I wish I had made it in time for lunch soecials. I'll need to come back.
Krys Y.

Went here for the first time with my mom and I was pleasantly pleased. The wait staff was incredibly attentive, everything looked clean and organized, the menu selection was larger than I anticipated, and the food was good. Everything we ordered tasted fresh and came out in a timely manner. Literally, no complaints. Even the parking is easy and convenient.

2/21/2026 same w friends Welcomed and seated. A corner shop w plenty of seating. Asked the server if the lunch menu set was still an option as it was just one min past the promo. They were very accommodating and allowed it. I got the sushi combo and shishito pepper as an appetizer. The sushi combo came w a miso soup, rice, salad, 4 piece California roll, two gyoza, and 5 nigiri. All the sushi I ate were delicious. The shishito was overcooked so it was kinda rubbery. Very not good. And pretty much the only down side. I even recommended the dish to my friend which I felt bad. -1 Love the location and the food.

I came here end of December for my friend's birthday. She chose this place, so we decided to give it a try. We went on a weekday, so there wasn't a lot of customers when we arrived. We weren't too hungry so we decided to order and share food. We got the lion king, mango crunch, a cream cheese roll, house salad, raw oysters and beer. Our favorite rolls here ended up being the mango crunch and the lion king roll. The lion king roll is baked and is flavorful. It was comparable to cha cha sushi's for us. The mango crunch was another favorite because my boyfriend and friend said they could valley taste the mango in there unlike when we go to other sushi restaurants. My friend and I enjoyed the raw oysters, but my boyfriend didn't like it because he said he could taste the sea water from it. I ended up eating his since I couldn't taste what he was tasting haha. Surprisingly, I really enjoyed the sushi here. I'll be back again when I'm craving sushi to try the other food items on the menu. Service was friendly making our meal more enjoyable. Ambiance felt nice and like home inside. They also had Dragon Ball Z decor referencing the store's name. Multiple tables started to arrive was we were getting ready to leave, so I guess we came before the rush.

Came in for a quick sushi dinner. Fish was very fresh and the sushi rolls were delicious. I had the Morgan Hill roll, which had fresh salmon and tuna with thinly sliced lemon on top of crab meat (A+) and the Rainbow roll (A). Would definitely head back.

Honestly I don't get how this place got such good reviews on Yelp. The mango salad was ok. The fusion sushi was ok, but because of the sauce and other things they put on there, not the fish and the rice. When we ordered just nigiri, the fish didn't look super fresh, and the rice was quite dense. Definitely not the quality that we expected from a good sushi place.

This place is a cute little restaurant with some Goku decor, hence the name. We were seated quickly for lunch on a Sunday. Service was pretty quick and attentive. The food was good but not mind blowing, the hotate and toro were pretty good of all of the nigiri I had. The karage had a nice crunch but a bit salty to me and tempura had a bit more batter than I prefer. We got the Goku and Ultimate shrimp delight rolls and they were good This is a simple Japanese restaurant if you wanted something quick!

We had a 5:00 PM reservation at Goku Sushi for a large family group of 14, and the experience was fantastic from start to finish. We ordered a wide variety of dishes and everything was really good. Our order included tempura appetizers, grilled whole squid, hamachi kama, the Goku Family Boat, salmon teriyaki plate, beef teriyaki plate, chicken udon, and several rolls -- Kayla Roll, Goku Special Roll, Climax Rolls, Lion King Roll, and Mango Crunch Roll. Every dish came out fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The highlights for me were the beef teriyaki, the Goku special roll, and especially the Goku Family Boat, which was perfect for sharing and a huge hit with our group. The servers were very attentive and handled our large party smoothly, which we really appreciated. We'll definitely be back -- especially since we noticed they offer lunch specials too. Highly recommend!

Checked out Goku Sushi for the first time. Been eyeing this new sushi spot for sometime as it is close to my house. Restaurant is really colorful and clean. The service here was excellent. I had the Mango Crunch which was made to perfection. I loved that roll. I got the classic California Roll which was solid and the gyoza was very crispy and flavorful. Definitely coming back soon to check out their amazing lunch specials.

Great sushi place! Reasonable prices, great service, great atmosphere! We'll be back!

I've been here on two separate occasions now, and overall the food is pretty solid for the price. The first time, I came during lunch and took advantage of their 3-roll deal for $18. I got the spicy salmon, spicy scallop, and Philadelphia roll. Everything was surprisingly filling and tasty, perfect for a quick, fast lunch. The only small note is that while the spicy scallop roll was good, it wasn't actually very spicy. On my second visit, I ordered the Lion King and the baked scallop roll. Both were super affordable, delicious, and honestly a must-try. You also have to get the salmon belly fusion, so soft and flavorful. We also tried the mango crunch roll, and while it was good, I think it would be even better with more mango since I didn't really taste any mango. The staff here are really friendly and the service is consistently good. The store is also kept clean, which is always a huge plus. Definitely a great spot for tasty rolls at good prices!

Chicken Karaage

Cute interior, friendly staff, ok bathrooms. I wasn't impressed with the nigiri but my friend got sushi rolls and she said she liked them. The karaage I got was kinda hard and didn't look like some of the pics on yelp, so maybe I came of a bad day? Idk. One of the those sushi places you'd go to for the rolls or bentos only.

order from top to down: hamachi roll, mango crunch, kayla roll

I've been to a lot of sushi spots, but Goku Sushi in San Jose really impressed me. From the second I walked in, the vibe was super welcoming. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the place had a chill, cozy atmosphere that made me feel right at home. Now, let's talk about the food. I ordered the Kayla Roll, Mango Crunch, and Hamachi Roll, and each one was next level. The Kayla Roll was a perfect balance of flavors and textures, with fresh fish, creamy avocado, and a nice spicy kick that had me hooked. Then there was the Mango Crunch. I wasn't sure how the mango would work with sushi, but trust me, it was a game changer. The sweetness of the mango paired with the crunch was so refreshing. And don't get me started on the Hamachi Roll. It was so fresh and buttery, it practically melted in my mouth. Every roll was packed with flavor and made with top quality ingredients. Definitely a place I'll be coming back to for both the food and the great service. If you're in San Jose and craving sushi, do yourself a favor and check this place out. I can already tell it's going to be one of my go to spots.

There are not that many authentic Japanese restaurants south of Saratoga in the South Bay, for the ones that are out here, most of them are just selling Japanese-style food, especially the ones with a lot of specialty rolls on the menu. Goku Sushi I would say is above average, their fish in sashimi are pretty fresh and their dinner set are pretty large in portion, the restaurant inside is nicely designed and very clean. staff members are very friendly so that is a plus. We will be back for lunch if we don't feel like driving up north to get japanese food.

Not a fan of the food. Very water downed miso soup, old and a bit pungent sushi, very Americanized Japanese restaurant.

Luckily for us, it was absolutely worth it! We called in for takeout about 15-20 minutes out from the restaurant and everything was ready by the time we arrived. Initial impressions: I was glad that we got takeout lol. There were essentially little to no parking spots and the restaurant was PACKED. Line out the door and an even larger queue inside! It did feel a bit cramped but fortunately I was just in and out. Service was great too! We got the Lion King and a sashimi platter. The lion king was SOOO good. I always get worried ordering this at new sushi spots because I feel like it can be a hit or miss (especially when they load waaay too much spicy mayo on it lol) - this roll had the perfect amount where it wasn't too overpowering. The ingredients tasted fresh too! As for the sashimi platter - every piece was thick and fresh. I'd definitely come back for takeout! Make sure you call ahead of time.

The takoyaki was good and tasted like traditional takoyaki. We ordered the sushi pro roll, the unagi pro roll and BB roll. They aren't very accommodating for change as we asked to substitute unagi for salmon (as the salmon was raw, as mentioned earlier, needed fully cooked) and they delivered the roll without the salmon and nothing as a substitute for the missing salmon. If I knew that I would've just ordered a different roll as the price didn't change. Rolls were okay but overpriced at $18 per roll. And even more so with my missing topping. I'm happy that they didn't put sesame on the rolls as we have an allergy.

Really not much more you can ask for. Food: 5/5 Fresh-tasting fish, generous portions that will definitely fill you up, and impressive consistency every time my family and I have visited. Price: 5/5 This is where Sushi Town truly separates itself from other sushi spots. Everything on the menu is priced incredibly well. Usually when you see prices this affordable, the quality suffers and the fish tastes old, but not here. You can genuinely taste the freshness and quality of the ingredients. We usually order the Double Salmon Roll for under $12, and for around $15, you can get a premium bento box loaded with chicken, veggies, tempura, rice, and two thick cuts of sashimi.
