Everything is always amazing at cha cha! Food is delicious, been coming here for a decade now and everything is consistent. Seafood is always fresh, sushi is yummy! Bento boxes are very affordable. Service is always great! The staff are very patience and knowledgeable. Ambiance is very welcoming and they remodeled the restaurant so it's nicer than before. Definitely would recommend and go back! read more

If you're looking for good take out sushi place, this is a really good one. Their sushi tastes fresh, the sauce is just enough but not overwhelming. Additionally, their service is great, even when ordering half an hour before closing, they still provided great service. I'm particularly a fan of their splash brother roll and the Red & Gold roll. If you like fresh salmon and spicy tuna, I think these are good rolls to get! read more

Wow am I amazed at this place. We came with a friend who lives nearby and recommended us coming here. We came on a Saturday for dinner and it was really busy, luckily for a table of 3, we came at the right time and got seated right away. The inside is a little small with a few tables but it was busy and there was a wait after we came in, which you know it must be good! We got a few rolls to share and they were all really good. The ichiran roll was my favorite. I had to ask what it meant when it said (huge) on the menu. The server said that it meant that the roll was bigger than the standard size one. And you could tell the difference! Tasted fresh and had a good amount of sauce to them. I can't remember the names of the other rolls that we got but they were really good. It was a little cold inside, cuz the AC was blasting but it was fine. The service was also great. Waters were always filled and we were checked up on a few times. I would love to come back here if I'm in the area! read more

I've tried Cha Cha Sushi on West Capitol Expressway a few times throughout the years, and unfortunately, I've never been impressed despite how popular and highly recommended it is locally. This most recent visit was a takeout order that included the Orange Blossom, Cool Runnings, Alaskan Crispy, and Lion King rolls. Overall, the rolls were not very flavorful. The Orange Blossom and Cool Runnings were especially mushy and desperately needed some crunch or texture to balance them out. The rolls were also poorly constructed and started falling apart as soon as we picked them up, which made them difficult to eat. Cha Cha Sushi has an extensive specialty-roll menu, but the quality and flavor continue to miss the mark for me. read more

First time here, and here's my experience: - We ordered four dishes: three kinds of rolls and a bowl of sashimi. Honestly, I felt like all of rolls tasted the same. There wasn't much difference between them, they all were creamy and cheesy. - The sashimi was served with a bowl of rice and small side of soup. There was nothing too special to write home about. - Service was good. Our server was friendly and attentive. Overall, there was nothing that really impressed me here:( read more

We've been ordering from Chacha Sushi properly 1-2 times a week, if not more in the last 4 months. It's hard to find good affordable sushi and Chacha is the spot for us when we don't want to spend alot of $ and still get our fix in. Since we tried most items on the menu, our order has wind down to sharing a Brandon roll & either an order of sushi appetizer (8 assorted pcs of sashimi) or a chawashi bowl (18 assorted pcs) if want something more filing. The sashimi are fresh, esp the Salmon. read more

My first time back here since COVID started! We came on a Thursday evening at 5pm, so it was relatively empty inside and with quick service. It's busier during peak meal hours, so if we came an hour or so later, I'd imagine it's crowded. We ordered handrolls (hamachi, unagi, spicy scallop, spicy salmon) and the Jordan roll (unagi, salmon, tuna). The fish is always great quality and really tender, and the sauce and seasoning is always delicious. The unagi glaze on both the Jordan roll and handroll was umami and sweet, caramelizing the fish well. Handrolls are always fun to eat, and this was no exception. All were delicious, but the start of the show was the spicy scallop - literally so buttery and melted in my mouth! And the perfect amount of spice. Although it's been 5+ years since my last visit, Cha Cha Sushi still lives up to its standards! Fresh fish and kind staff, what's more to ask for? Will be back! read more

Truly a south bay favorite. They serve large sushi rolls and great service. Taste: Almost every special roll is a hit but my personal favorites are the giants and 49ers. Definitely try out the brandon roll if you love sashimi. It's loaded with a lot of different cuts. Service: They are always on quick and kind here. Great service. Parking: Always easy to find parking in this plaza. Bonus: They serve free tea read more

Cha Cha's Bento boxes are not it. They are mainly known for their rolls but as I am a basic person, I usually like the maki's and nigiri -- the maki was super sloppy and unkempt and for $30 UberEats delivery, the teriyaki was super small and not worth the extra two and the salad and rice was eh. Won't be getting the bento boxes. read more

My favorite place to go for consistently good quality, good portions, and good prices when I'm craving sushi in SJ. They have a wide variety of rolls on their menu, organized by category (raw, baked, fried, etc.) and each with photos, which I really appreciate. I love getting any of their huge rolls (my favorite is either X-Men or Wolf Tail); they're around $20-21 and fill me up! They also have a great happy hour menu (Mon-Sat from 11:30-5pm) with select $6 or $10 rolls and a few other items. The employees are always sweet and helpful. It's a relatively small restaurant, so waits are typically inevitable especially on weekends. read more

I've been going here for over a long time now. It gets quite busy around dinner time but usually can get seated asap! There are lots of bar seating which makes it easier. I always come back since the quality is always consistent. I like how convenient it is since the service is quite fast. The rolls are quite huge as well. I got a miso soup (3/5), brandon's roll (4/5), and chicken teriyaki (4/5). I felt like the brandon's roll before had more fish but this time it felt like a smaller portion :o read more

Cha Cha Sushi still draws a crowd on Capitol Expressway, but this visit felt a little different. It made me wonder if ownership changed. The place was as busy as ever, though the service didn't feel quite as warm. The food seemed less "refined", but rather more hearty--bigger cuts and sweeter sauces. We had a specialty roll topped with fish and scallops that was rich and flavorful, definitely a solid choice. The eel rice bowl came in a big portion and was satisfying. The teriyaki beef ended up being a bit dry and lean for my taste, despite the great presentation. One thing I'll say: they're not shy on portion size. It's still a dependable, neighborhood sushi spot. Perhaps maybe evolving into a more commercial version of itself. read more

It's been a while since I last dined at Cha Cha Sushi and felt the need to revisit some old stomping grounds. Was pleased to see that they had a Happy Hour menu offering some great options! $6 rolls and appetizers and $10 special rolls. I ordered a few items on the HH menu and on the regular menu. Started with their House Salad and Miso Soup, Ikura Nigiri and off the Happy Hour Menu the Spicy Tuna Roll and Salmon Kama. Everything came out quickly and the portions were huge! Really such a good deal. The house salad dressing was delicious and refreshing and I'm always a fan of miso soup, so it was a must. The Salmon Kama was perfectly roasted with tons of meat. The Ikura Nigiri was literally falling over the sides, bc of it's generous portion. The spicy tuna roll came with 6 pieces but could've easily been 8 due to being cut so thick, but the rice and fish were fresh and tasted great. Such a good value for good quality food and I was beyond full. Service was quick, attentive and friendly. Bill came out to be around $30 before tip! read more

Kinda small place with a typical neighborhood strip mall sushi spot feel. Came here on a Monday night @ 6pm. Place was full and we waited about 5 minutes for a table to open up. Not bad since there was a decent wait when we left. The food came out fast and overall was good. Mixed tempura- hot dipping sauce and freshly fried. The batter was a bit heavy but ok. Salmon Kama- good just a bit small. It's an appetizer so I guess that's fine. The wolf tail- really big and good. Double tempura shrimp. It was very hard to stuff a whole piece in your mouth so you don't get the full favor of all the ingredients. I did manage to stuff a smaller piece in my mouth and it was good. I almost choked to death. Just a warning. 49er roll- the thinly sliced lemon was a refreshing touch. This was our favorite. The lion king- ok. The baked roll made it a hot mess. Tastes very good if you could keep everything together in one piece. Spider roll- good. Nothing surprising. read more

Love this place and we always try to eat here if we're ever in San Jose. They get very crowded for dinner, so recommend coming right at 5pm or be prepared to wait or just order takeout. Must order is the 49er roll which comes with fresh salmon and a sliver of lemon on top of a California roll. It is delicious. We've had a fair share of rolls (King Kong, Lion King, Rainbow). Most rolls are massive and delicious! read more

this is one of my favorite sushi restaurants in the Bay Area for consistently good rolls it had been awhile since I've been back -- my friend and I came around 2pm on a Saturday and there was no wait although the interior is a little small, the staff was very friendly I ordered the 49ers roll and it was as good as I remember -- the fish was very fresh. however, I was a bit thrown off by the price. it was $20 and the other roll I was considering getting was $23 it's been a few years since I last visited so I was surprised by the prices because they definitely went up a lot since my last visit -- I think coming here will become more of a once in awhile treat but I'm glad the sushi is always good whenever I decide to visit read more

We came around 12pm which was right before the rush. Service is really nice and attentive and between 11:30-5pm is happy hour so some rolls are only $6-$10. We got a red and gold, sake roll, cha cha, GSW, and MVP. All of them really good but I wish there were more raw rolls on the happy hour. (San Jose)Food: Brandon's(9.1/10)- Mixed fish & cucumber topped w/ mixed fish, rice crackers, unagi sauce, spicy mayo, tobiko & green onion. Plenty of flavor. I do enjoy the different texture of the variety of dishes. Child plate chicken katsu(7.7/10)- served with miso soup, salad, nice & 2 pcs pork pot sticker. Miso soup was tasty and the katsu is basic. Well priced though for what it included Soft shell crab(9/10)-Deep-fried soft shell crab served w/ ponzu sauce. Very delicious and crunchy. I've never had something like this before. I thought the shells would be hard but it was easy to bite LION KING(9/10)-California roll topped with salmon, spicy mayo, unagi sauce, tobico & green onion. Delicious. Salmon was baked well and great cream portion size. Unagi lovers(8/10)- California roll topped w/ unagi & unagi sauce- made well but pretty basic Mochi green tea and strawberry ice cream(9/10)- it's pricy and small but worth a try. It's not too sweet and you can definitely taste the flavor. Ambience: place is small but has tables for small to mid size group. There's also a single sitter in the bar area Service: servers are kind. It's pretty busy so they don't really check on waters or how the food is. But they do get you whatever you need quickly Price: price is descent and is on the average side. Parking: plenty of parking in front of the restaurant read more

I used to come here regularly when I lived in the area years ago but still find myself back here every now and then, it's always a safe spot to get sushi. They're located in a shopping plaza with plenty of parking and other shops like Bona Pizza, 85 Degree Bakery, Tastea, and Egghead. The restaurant is on the smaller side and tables can fill up quickly so keep in mind that there might be a wait especially during dinner hours. Interior looks like a typical sushi restaurant, nothing super fancy. Staff are always friendly and attentive and food comes out fast. You really can't go wrong with any of their rolls, we always switch it up depending on how we're feeling that day but we always order either the spicy green mussels or Hawaiian poki salad as an appetizer. Great place to stop by when you're craving for sushi and are looking for a quick lunch/dinner! read more

Everything was 10/10!! The sushi tasted so fresh and they used the right amount of rice. Our favorite was the Superman roll!! The restaurant is on the smaller side. We arrived at 7:23pm to add our name to the waitlist and were seated by 8pm. The server greeted us 2-5 minutes after we were seated and the food arrived about 15 minutes after we ordered. We were really impressed by the food and service. I will definitely be coming back ! read more

Did not live up to its 4 star rating. Disappointed to report that the sushi is mediocre and the ambiance is poor. The dining room is carpeted which makes the space feel dirty. The inside is small and dark and the decor is very plain so it doesn't feel very welcoming for dine-in. I felt uncomfortable as soon as I sat down but wanted to give the food a chance because of the high ratings. Ordered salmon and tuna nigiri and the fish served was a long, awkward 1" wide slice so the portion felt skimpy. Quality of salmon and tuna were OK but not the freshest. I have had higher quality nigiri in the to-go section of my local Japanese market. Tried the 49ers roll and it was heavy on surimi and sauce. Baked mussels were good though. Place was very crowded during lunch time so other people seem to like it. Just not for me. read more

This place is one of the best sushi places in the South Bay esp for the money you pay. Parking is plentiful. Just be sure to arrive before 5 pm for the happy hour pricing and to skip the line. I used to love Cha Cha Sushi. I was one of those people who stood outside for DAYS waiting on a table. Rain or shine, I was there. The customer service here is typically a hit or miss, but more so a miss on most occasions. The rushing, the pushiness, & the unfriendly vibes were overlooked because the food was really good. Fast forward to having a kid and dining here... Some things never change and I'm not sure why I thought my visit would go any other way beyond what it has ALWAYS been. That initial first visit with my child became my very last. I broke the long hiatus because we were celebrating my cousin's bday and Cha Cha just so happened to be the restaurant of choice. Sushi quality and flavor was great. Everyone in our party enjoyed our food. 3 stars overall but this easily would have been 2 if it wasn't for the kind Hispanic young lady who was acting as hostess??? Shout out to you & many thanks on the continued refills of tea, we appreciated your friendliness and the warmth you bring to such a cold environment- literally & figuratively. read more

Delicious as always! Slight miss but hey, everyone has an off day. Assorted Sashimi Appetizer (8 Pieces) ($20.95) 9/10 - Delicious and about as perfect as sashimi can get. Larger sashimi cuts end up being overly fatty or texturally off putting. Not the case here. The salmon was thick, tender, and incredibly buttery. Same with the tuna which was excellent quality. The hamachi was unusually pale... almost white but it still tasted great. I'm sure this is from a specific cut that I'm unfamiliar with. The fourth fish however was a bit of a mystery. One piece was nicely cut but the other was paper-thin and uneven. Surprised they let that one through. Spicy Hamachi Hand Roll ($9.95) 5/10 - I usually love hamachi as my go to but this one didn't quite deliver. It was clear they used the stringy leftover bits that didn't carry much flavor. That said, they were generous with the portion and the rice to fish ratio, along with the cucumber and seasoning was spot on! Spicy Tuna Hand Roll ($9.95) 9/10 - This one turned me into a fan of tuna! Packed with tuna and not overloaded with rice. Well balanced and flavorful. Spicy Salmon Hand Roll ($9.95) 9/10 - Not much to say. You really can't go wrong with this one. Delicious. Unagi (Freshwater Eel) ($12.95) 7/10 - Tasty? Absolutely. Worth the price? Nope! You only get four small pieces which felt steep for the cost. I expected it to come with rice but it didn't. While eel is generally pricey, this tasted pretty similar to the frozen unagi I buy from Ranch 99 or HMart for under $10 a whole filet. Unless you're a die hard eel fan, I'd recommend skipping this. read more

Small restaurant with plenty of parking in the area. It was pretty packed on a Thursday evening but the service was friendly and quick. They have a pretty standard sushi menu with specialty rolls, hand rolls, nigiri, and also have bento boxes. We got the Brandon's and Ichiban rolls. Both of them came with a ton of food but the price reflected it as well ($23/roll), though there are cheaper rolls too. The Ichiban roll had "huge" in parenthesis on the menu and it really was huge, I had to split it into multiple bites. The fish quality here is alright and with the price point, this wouldn't be my first choice for sushi. read more

They were packed on a Thursday night and after trying the food, I understood why. If you love creamy saucy rolls, the Cha Cha should be your 1st pick. Cha Cha Sushi is one of the best sushi spots you'll find in the South Bay. I can't believe I haven't written a review yet, even though I've been coming here for over a decade! The restaurant is casual and small, so there may be a wait at peak times. I'd say it's worth the wait. Service has always been attentive and quick here, even for takeout. The fish has always been fresh and some of my favorite special rolls include: Brandon's Roll - A mixed raw fish roll, generously topped with more mixed fish and crunchy rice crackers. My go-to! Little Jenny - A crab and eel roll, with tempura flakes that add great texture and crunch. 49ers - Simple yet popular choice for a delicious crab and eel roll, topped with fresh salmon and thin lemon slices. Lion King - A classic for baked roll lovers or guests not too fond of raw fish. Savory and creamy. There's an amazing variety of appetizers and bento plates available on the menu as well. If you and your party still have room for dessert, their Matcha Tempura Ice Cream is a great choice. Whether you're a first time visitor or a regular, you're sure to have a satisfying meal! read more

This a great little hole in the wall. The service is impeccable. It is fast and courteous. You seat yourself. If it is just you, then sit at the sushi bar. I have only eaten the food to go, but dinning in is also nice. If you come here then come hungry. They give large portions so you are totally getting your money's worth. So I'm kicking myself for not taking any pictures but our dinner tonight at Cha cha sushi was amazing. I ordered the 49er roll and it was fresh with a sauce that has just the right amount of sweet and salty. My husband had the short rib plate, which he really enjoyed and we ordered my daughter chicken teriyaki. The place, while small and crowded with tables was bright and welcoming. We were greeted warmly and only had to wait for about 15 minutes once our whole party arrived. The 4 star review is strictly for their famous lion king roll which is probably the only menu item I've tried & would recommend out of the 4 dishes I tried from them today.
