This is a nice restaurant tucked away in a shopping center and definitely worth seeking out. The food was excellent and very reasonably priced for the quality. The katsu chicken with sizzling rice was outstanding, and the Dragon Roll was equally impressive. My only real complaint was the ordering process. Instead of traditional paper menus, everyone at the table had to order individually on their phones. For a large group, it turned into a confusing and somewhat frustrating experience. People were ordering at different times, it was difficult to keep track of what everyone had selected, and because you couldn't hear others placing their orders as you would with a traditional menu, coordinating appetizers or avoiding duplicate items was challenging. It also seemed to create extra confusion for the waitstaff. I can see this system working well for a solo diner or a couple, but for larger groups, I think a more traditional ordering option would make for a much smoother experience. Was looking forward to coming back here after being gone for a couple of months, and I have to say the food definitely did not live up to my expectations. The quality of the food here has gone down significantly since I first started coming here. I usually come here once a week or so, and the food is normally great! Today (at around 1pm) I ordered some edamame, miso soup, a 49ers roll, and a Philly roll. The restaurant was busy, but not completely packed. Below are my thoughts on the food today: The edamame was lukewarm and had a decent amount of salt on it, but was not hot and was a bit mushy. The miso soup had to be the biggest letdown so far. It tasted like water and had absolutely no miso soup flavor whatsoever. On the bright side, there was no absence of tofu or seaweed which I loved! The 49ers roll was painful to eat because of the thick lemon slices on top. They used to be thin and enjoyable to eat, now it's gross having to crunch through the thick lemon skin to eat the roll. And finally the Philly roll, this is my favorite roll here because the price is great and the roll itself it usually great. They used to make it with smoked salmon and put a nice dried topping on top of the roll to give it great flavor. Unfortunately today I was unimpressed with this roll. The salmon did not taste smoked, and the overall flavor was quite bland. I would come back here because I love the vibe inside the restaurant and I have a history with this restaurant. I know they can do better, but if this was my first time here I'm not sure I would come back. As a new customer, you may find it difficult ordering on your cell phone and the cell service is quite spotty in this area depending on what service provider you have. You order through a QR code on the table and all mobile devices ordering from the same table will have their orders consolidated. Beef Udon stir fry is tasty, but as many have said, on the sweeter side. Loooooove the texture and chew of the udon noodles. Very springy, almost like korean rice cakes or gnocchi. Sake chirashi bowl was delicious too. Would be nice if the wasabi was on the side. My daughter loves sashimi but can't handle when the wasabi touches the fish. Too spicy for her. Freshness of the fish is good. It's not the luxury cut of salmon, but the quality is still very worthwhile. Can't go wrong with Cali Roll, sweet potato fries, and spring rolls (fried egg rolls). Kids gobbled them right up. My bestie also ordered a sizzling plate which she finished just as quickly. Definitely RECOMMEND this spot for small get togethers, party of 5 or less. They packed everything in a nice high quality insulated bag, and the sushi rolls were in a nice wooden box and presented beautifully! Both rolls were delicious and fresh with generous large pieces of fish. At first I thought the mango sake roll could've used more ingredients since it mainly only had salmon and mango, but the mango was so fresh and sweet and the salmon pieces were huge so it ended up being an excellent refreshing roll. This is a hidden gem we found right off blossom hill. My husband and I ordered poke, two hand rolls, sashimi, and one roll through uber eats. I absolutely loved how they packaged everything, nothing was spilled over soaking into the fish/rice, it was all perfectly plated. All of the fish were very fresh and good quality cuts. Came here with my mum right when they opened one Sunday morning. There was only one other group when we were seated, but the restaurant was almost full by the time we were done and the palce seems popular for takeout orders. You access their menu by scanning a QR code and order for your table. Food came out very quickly (about 15 minutes). What we got: sizzling katsu (3/5) -- rice, corn, katsu, mushroom, and curry sauce on the side. Curry is good, the garlic butter they serve with it is good but they add too much of it, and corn is a good addition. Even though the katsu was crispy, the meat (you get a ton of it) was very dry and some pieces were just cartilage eel sizzling plate (3/5) -- good flavor and different from usual eel preparation, but again the garlic butter they dollop on is really rich and made it difficult for me to finish the plate. I think maybe something more acidic or giving the butter on the side would help with this. jala machi roll (3/5) -- there was a lot of rice compared to the rest of the ingredients. It was not seasoned very well and it was also hard, so the texture of each bite was off. Otherwise, the flavor of the roll is very good though I would not recommend for those who do not like sweet sushi because there is unagi sauce The portion sizes are definitely worth the price and the service are worth it if you enjoy Asian fusion food and/or want a little bit of everything. Dragon roll (~$13) unagi and avocado on the outside with shrimp tempura rolled up inside. The tempura was still crispy even when I brought it home. The food came in the same box.
