This place always gets recommended to me so I figured I'd give it a try. The ambiance is nice, there's a sushi bar plus indoor and and outdoor seating. The service was great. The sushi chefs were really friendly and the wait staff as well. The sushi itself was just delicious. I especially enjoyed the roll with no rice. As far as price goes, I feel like it's pretty average. Definitely will be back as I really enjoyed my food!

My daughter was at a birthday party for two hours so I decided to grab lunch. Ginza Sushi was near by so decided to try it. It was in the middle of the day so the restaurant was not too busy. I was seated right away and took my time browsing through the menu. I decided on the Crazy Mango Roll and Otoro on the Rock. The mango roll was delicious as expected but that otoro? Premium bluefin tuna belly. That was how do you say it, chef's kiss. The slices were huge and literally melted in my mouth. Definitely a splurge every and now and then. The restaurant size is small, just one room but looks big because of the high ceiling. They had a cute display area set up for Halloween in a corner. Service is super friendly and I did not feel rushed to order my food but they did come by to check up on me. Next door is a dessert place so I hopped on over right after lunch.

I was craving a good California roll so my husband suggested Ginza. They have a wide variety. We decided to call in the order for pick up. The gentleman who took our order was very nice and knowledgeable of the items on the menu. Everything (3 types of California rolls, Teriyaki bento box & spicy tuna hand roll) we ordered was fresh and delicious! I'm very happy that I gave this place a try. I'll be back for sure.

Solid sushi spot, I would recommend you come try the rolls here. They have a good variety to pick from and an extensive menu at that, with everything from sashimi to bento boxes. There's a lot of seating and the waiters are nice.

This review is long overdue, and for a reason too. If you came here several months ago, you would've been met with poor service and food too. Personally I don't like leaving bad reviews, only good ones to the establishments that do deserve it. But after hearing that management and staff completely changed, I decided to give this place a couple tries again. I was pleasantly surprised that the service and food quality have gotten WAY better. Located in the same shopping center as the well known Goku establishment, this restaurant gives off a casual, family friendly vibe. Lots of seating, as well as a sushi bar seating too. As for the sushi, the quality is fresh (at least for me whenever I go and order, idk about all the other people in the recent reviews saying quality is below par. But I trust my palate to be saying this), and the portions are ample when compared to the price. Service is also very attentive towards your needs. Very welcoming, hospitable, and quick to help. The BENTO BOXES are AMAZING btw. There's a lot of selections for your 2 item or 3 item bento box, and you can't really fuss with the weekday lunch price for these. The price also applies to both takeout AND dine in. Rolls and appetizers are great as well, generous portions/fillings for what you're paying for. This is a solid sushi spot for the South San Jose area. While prices do get kinda high for DoorDash and UberEats (as expected for 3rd party delivery apps), they do accept call-in takeout orders as well as website takeout orders as well, this way you can beat those 3rd party app prices. Definitely try this spot out and see for yourself!

We had another great meal here on Monday. Service is always fast and friendly and the portions are quite generous. We had bento boxes and sushi. Everything was fresh and delicious. This is our go to place in the Cambrian area. I can't recommend it more highly. They take is also quite good. Prices are average and parking is easy.

Ask the Community - Ginza Sushi

Is there a new owner? Entirely new staff today, new application for alcohol license posted, service fee gone. Seemed like several changes since we last dined there a few weeks ago

Ownership is the same, and we have had change in staff for opportunities to grow or for family reasons. We still have employees that have been with us for 4-5 years. We did get a new alcohol license. We will not have that service fee for any parties…

Are dog's allowed for outdoor patio dining?

    Always. We’re dog friendly.

Are there any new items or specials that aren't listed on the menu? The only one I see is the Area 51 roll. Thanks

Our Sushi Chefs have a ton of experience. Have a roll in mind that you don’t see, feel free to go up to them and ask. They welcome a challenge and are happy to try to please all guests.

Do they have gluten free soy sauce?

Do they have all you can eat?

    Nope!

Oh! I am delightfully full! The rich umami broth really sets this place apart from others. What I…read morereally like about this place is that one may customize the menu depending on dietary concerns (vegan, lactose-free, shellfish allergens etc.), but however one customizes, the quality is fort-rate. Our party consisted of family and friends who had differing dietary concerns, but we were each able to eat delicious ramen without any worries. We started out with some appetizers - the Karaage Chicken and the Umami cucumber. The chicken had a nice crunch, yet the meat was juicy and tender! Nice! I appreciate the matcha salt that came with the chicken, as it added a little extra flavor to the chicken. And the umami cucumbers were joyfully crisp, with a slightly sweet soy sauce base, the sesame seeds and the bonito flakes on top adding to the umami. I ordered the Sukiyaki Beef Ramen - something unique, and it is not listed on the colorful poster on the door, nor was it listed on the menu card on the table. It caught my eye, though, when I ordered using the QR code. I felt like this was something on a secret menu or something . . . I was in heaven! The sukiyaki beef was tender and flavorful with that sukiyaki sweetness, and it perfectly balanced the saltiness of the broth. Oh, darn! I forgot to take a photo of the bowl of ramen!! Oops! Well, as I mentioned at the start of this review, I was delightfully full at the end, especially since I just could not leave perfectly delicious broth in the bowl. Good enough to drink as a soup! I must say, however, that when this place first opened, I was not impressed. And when I ate here two years ago, I was equally unimpressed. Today, however, I am blown away! The hot crunchy garlic topping also makes the ramen more flavorful, so I'd recommend it :) The inari that came with the ramen was a tad bit too sweet for me, but the chashu was good! I got the spinach noodles with it, but I wonder if there's actually spinach in it because it didn't really taste any different from the normal noodles! The noodles could be a tad bit firmer too. We also got the aburi chashu as an appetizer, and it was solid! It was basically just the pork chashu with sesame seeds and sriracha. A little pricey, but overall solid. Service is quick because you just order online and pay first, and everything comes out within 5-10 mins. I like how they open pretty late too, and have a decent amount of seating for a ramen place!

The restaurant is located in downtown Campbell and there's plenty of street and garage parking. The restaurant itself had very simple, clean, and modern feel and was very intimate. The menu changes daily based on what's available, and we had the choice to do family sharing style ($125/person) or al la carte. Since the menu wasn't super extensive, we decided to give family style a try so we didn't have to think about what to order and how much to order. The family sharing style came with 4 raw dishes, 4 starter/appetizer dishes, 3 main dishes, and 1 dessert. For our raw dishes round, I really enjoyed the salmon (with some type of chili oil), and the scallops with Chinese sausage. For the appetizer round, I really enjoyed the clam (although a bit small) and the potato chip with caviar (very creamy and flavorful). As for the main, I really enjoyed the cornbread although would say the ikura gets a bit covered up by the creamy sauce (although still incredibly delicious). We also got a short rib but I found it to be a bit heavy in the sauce and on the saltier side. The dessert was a chocolate peanut bar that felt like a very elevated snickers bar. Overall, food is pretty good even though on the pricier side and the service is excellent. This is definitely more of a special occasion kind of restaurant!

Unfortunately, our experience during our most recent visit was so disappointing that we no longer plan to return. While we were having dinner, my dad was watching a soccer game on his phone. At no point did any staff member ask us to lower the volume. After the table behind us left, our waiter politely informed us that those guests had complained about the sound and asked if we could turn it down. My dad immediately lowered the volume without any issue. After that, we noticed the owner repeatedly looking at us and speaking to the waiter about the situation. Feeling uncomfortable, my dad asked if everything was okay. The owner's response was unexpectedly rude and confrontational. He aggressively told my dad to turn off the phone, even though the volume had already been lowered and my dad was complying. The interaction felt hostile and intimidating. From that point on, we felt extremely uncomfortable. The owner continued to stare at us and discuss the situation with staff while we were trying to finish our meal. Rather than stay and enjoy the rest of our dinner, we decided to leave. In more than 10 years of dining here, we have never experienced anything like this. We understand that noise complaints can happen and would have gladly cooperated, as we already did. What was upsetting was the way the situation was handled by the owner. Long-time customers should be treated with respect, and unfortunately, that was not our experience. Because of how we were treated, we will not be returning.

Anywho, we ordered a variety of items to try: new stamina don, clam chowder croquette, kani chirashi bento, and a salmon kama bento. Regarding the food: New stamina don came with slice beef, sliced beef tongue, braised pork, poached egg, and kimchi over rice. The sliced beef was cooked to rare, and the braised pork was very tender. The rice also came with the poached egg, kewpie mayo and a lemon, mixing it all together with the rice made it have a nice creamy flavor. Clam chowder croquette was something I have never heard of before, so I definitely wanted to try it. This was delicious, would definitely get it again. A fried crispy croquette with clam chowder in it but also some mashed potatoes and tonkotsu sauce on top. Kani chirashi bento had snow crab, fish roe over rice, rolled egg omelette, sashimi, fried boneless chicken, and edamame, blistered tomatoes and shisito peppers with pickles. The sashimi came with 4 pieces, 2 tuna and 2 salmon. the tuna was a little fishy but the soy sauce helped. The salmon was actually pretty good - good fattiness. The fried chicken was fine, a few pieces were dry. Overall this bento was good. Salmon Kama bento is salmon collar over rice, fried boneless chicken, takoyaki and edamame, blistered tomatoes and shisito peppers with pickles. The salmon collar needed some salt in my opinion. We also ordered the seared salmon ikura bowl, which wasn't anything special and really lacked flavor. The bowl was quite dry, and I kept wishing it came with some sort of sauce to tie everything together. Even the shishito peppers were surprisingly bland. But after weighing the price of the all-you-can-eat vs ordering exactly what we were craving a la carte, we decided to just order off the menu, which was the smart move since it was much less expensive and we ended up full. The place is casual and a little not-fancy decor or ambiance wise. You wouldn't bring anyone here you wanted to impress. . .but the food is what's important, right? The sushi was good! The rolls were large, the options were creative, and everything was tasty and met expectations. I wouldn't say it's elevated sushi, where there are layers to the flavors and you go "wow". But you get your sushi and see the portions are a good size and are happy that you get to dig in and eat satisfying sushi. I'd come back here again, especially for casual sushi where you want good value. Service was good as well - again, nothing fancy or overly attentive, but perfectly adequate for the level of restaurant. Also, it came pretty quickly, which was a plus as well (it wasn't that crowded when we went).

We grabbed the menus ourselves from a nearby table. We originally wanted to try their AYCE, but since the whole table had to participate, and one of us wasn't that hungry, we decided to order a la carte. We're glad we did. The 3 of us were already stuffed after sharing an appetizer and 4 signature rolls. The sweet potato tempura came out piping hot; the batter wasn't too thick. While the dipping sauce lacked flavor, the dish was still ok, and not too oily. We're impressed by the number of signature rolls they offered, and tried to pick something we hadn't seen at other sushi restaurants. My favorite was the lobster tail tempura that came with the Boujee rolls. It was tasty with a light batter. The plating was beautiful. The torched salmon, shrimp tempura and spicy tuna were good as well, but I didn't really see any real crab inside. The Skittles roll was pretty delicious, too. I liked that it had unagi, crab, tobiko, and avocado among other things. The Umami roll also had unagi and carb, but the salmon skin and bonito flakes were what made the roll special. My daughter didn't care for the salmon skin, though. The Black Mamba was interesting if you liked softshell crab. I didn't care for the macadamia nuts, though. Portion size was huge. However, their rolls weren't rolled very tightly nor cut evenly, and their rice was on the sweeter side as other Yelpers had mentioned. Since most of the rolls had similar sauces, they kind of tasted very similar, despite the different ingredients. I wouldn't mind coming back again to try other items on their menu when I'm in the area.
