California roll, lion king, crunch mango, spicy garlic edamame, & seaweed salad.

Hands down the best sushi spot in San Jose, the hood spots are the best! This review is long overdue. I been coming here since before they remodeled and it is the most consistent place we order from and it never disappoints. We sometimes eat in or take the order Togo but it's made fresh each time, family business and great service.

Great place if you're looking for somewhere reasonable for Togo. Sashimi is really fresh and they put a lot of fish in their sashimi salad. Store itself is really small and they share the space with a pizza shop so pretty sure there was only 1-2 tables. Service is friendly and really understanding and if you Togo a lot they give a big tray instead of smaller boxes.

My sister recommended me this spot & I was a bit skeptical at first since it's connected to a convenience store. I came here on a Saturday night & I like that they're open late! I did order over the phone before heading over & service was fast! There were a good amount of people in the restaurant but still lots of seating. Parking lot is spacious and didn't have to struggle to park. We ordered the Combo A, Philadelphia Roll, Lion King, & Crunch Mango. The portions were huge and the fish tasted super fresh! Definitely have to come back next time to try out their other rolls. I would reccomend bringing cash for the discount :)

Absolute killer value for money The California roll was massive and probably one of the best tasting ones I've had in a long time. Ngl when we opened the boxes I got a whiff of fishy smell but the sushi did not taste fishy at all. Very clean flavor with large slices of fish on top. We ordered in person so had to wait about 15+ mins for our order to be completed during the weeknight dinner rush I will be back and 100% encourage anyone thinking of trying this place to do so

EVERYTHJN Was Clean And InLoved It.. I Order The Hand Sushi Roll Spicy Yellowtail. Also I Order Rainbow Roll Smackin That Mango One Hits As Well The Employee Were Friendly And Chilled Smilin And Askin If Needed Anythin. Highly Recommend This Spot For Reals

Finally got to try Sushi Day after passing by it for several years! I wish I got a chance at the previous curry pizza spot that Sushi Day shared the space with, but not meant to be. Stopped by to place in person on a Friday afternoon. Very clean space, no one really there since it was around 1:30 PM. I'm not sure if there was only one cook/ staff but seemed like he was the main person there at the time! We ordered 3 rolls which took about 15-20 mins as the staff estimated to make: Orange dragon roll, Baked Spicy Tuna, Tuna Lover. For the price and how close the sushi spot is to me, it's pretty good. I would say the size of the rolls are average and feds 2 people well. Definitely orange dragon roll was my favorite which was a salmon, tempura California roll (with avocado). Everything tasted well together and my mom who doesn't like raw fish also enjoyed the orange dragon! The baked spicy tuna had scallops on top of a spicy tuna roll but I didn't really notice the scallops, which was fine since this was mainly for my mom. The Tuna Deluxe roll was tuna over a spicy tuna with avocado and I think I noticed how fresh the avocado was. Overall really good ingredients though and reminiscent to AYCE sushi spots. I would definitely come back when I need a quick sushi fix.

Highly recommend this takeout restaurant! Food is consistently delicious. I come here very frequently to satisfy my sushi cravings. I also recommend calling and ordering in advance, about 30-35 minutes prior to pick up. This is because the food is made FRESH to order, which I love. Staff are very nice and welcoming as well.

Salmon Nigiri, Orange Dragon Roll, Hamachi Deluxe Roll, Lion Baked Roll and other rolls I can't remember the name lol

Great affordable quality sushi! I love this spot. Never disappoints and the customer service here is amazing! Highly recommend coming here.

This place is definitely a hidden gem. It is my favorite sushi spot in San Jose because the prices are super reasonable. Every roll is really tasty and the quality is consistent every time I come back. The inside might throw you off since it has hole in the wall vibes but I promise you the food makes up for it. I usually like calling ahead and getting takeout here. The workers are nice and this is for sure the best sushi in town.

Amazing fresh, delicious food, with great prices, and kind service. This is my GO to for sushi, gracias por la comida tan rica

Chicken karagee (didn't know it had sauce but super yummy)?

It had been too long since we had sushi and didn't want to go out so I ordered over the phone and 30 minutes later, bada bing! I ordered my usual Hamachi Deluxe and Ichiban while husband ordered the Rainbow and Lion King. I was surprised that the Ichiban had cooked fish and crab inside, so I must have ordered the wrong one because those are not my faves. My toddler doesn't eat sushi (yet) so I ordered their chicken appetizer and come to find out they top it with delicious sauces. I had to sacrifice and eat the exterior to give him the chicken inside. It was far from punishment but an unexpected surprise- next time will say sauce on the side. Unfortunately they do not sell a cup of plain rice so I had to make do at home for the kid. We paid $85 with tip for 4 rolls and a chicken appetizer. It feels like a lot given they are take out only, but it is delicious. The daughter taking orders is a lot nicer, but the area is still unassuming.

All I can say is I never knew this little hidden gem if. Sushi Day is a fantastic little hole-in-the-wall gem. Don't be fooled by its unassuming location connected to a gas station, because the inside is surprisingly nice with beautifully decorated walls. It's a small spot with just a few tables, and parking can be tight, but there's usually street parking in the nearby residential area. The ordering process is simple: you check out the paper menu and order at the front register. They accept tap to pay, which is super convenient. Now for the important part: the food. The sushi was very good and the hand rolls were delicious. Everything we got was seriously yummy. Service was friendly and fast. Our table was a bit dirty when we sat down, but we asked and they wiped it down for us right away. I would absolutely go back to try more things from their menu. Definitely recommend!

Spicy tuna roll 2. Spider roll 3. Rainbow roll 4. Tiger roll 5. Miso soup 6. Seaweed salad We also ordered Asahi beer and hot sake. The food was very good and we gave a solid 10/10 (the ratio of rice to filling was well balanced), the hot sake was smooth, and the beer was very cold. Everything was priced well compared to other sushi restaurants. Most rolls we ordered ranged from $6.95 to $13. Staff were very nice and attentive. The restaurant was clean and quiet. Two things I want to highlight:: (1) the restaurant closes at 9pm, and stops serving new clients at 8:45pm. Keep this in mind if you arrive past 8pm and (2) the receipt calculated the recommended tip based on total amount (including taxes) but tip should be calculated before taxes. Either way, we greatly enjoyed our first time experience and we will be back again.

My husband and I have experienced both the 13-course Kamikaze omakase at the sushi bar and regular table dining, and every visit has been consistently excellent. If you're looking for an interactive dining experience, I highly recommend sitting at the sushi bar. Watching the chefs prepare each course makes the meal even more enjoyable. One thing we really appreciate is how easy it is to make a reservation. The staff is always welcoming, attentive, and happy to offer recommendations based on your preferences. They genuinely make you feel taken care of from the moment you arrive. The 13-course Kamikaze menu is an incredible value for the quality you're getting. Even better, they rotate the menu every month, which keeps every visit exciting. It's refreshing to return to a restaurant knowing you'll get to try new creations instead of the exact same meal each time. Every piece of fish we've had has been exceptionally fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. The restaurant itself is absolutely gorgeous. You can tell they put a lot of thought into the design and atmosphere. The modern aesthetic creates an inviting space that feels upscale while still being comfortable. They also offer a fantastic cocktail menu along with an impressive selection of sake. My husband and I enjoy trying different sakes, and while quality sake isn't inexpensive, the selection here is well worth it. Parking is generally easy, though it can get a little busier since it's located near a popular supermarket. Even so, we've never found it to be much of an issue. Blue Pagoda is truly a hidden gem in North San Jose. Between the consistently fresh sushi, rotating omakase menu, beautiful ambiance, excellent service, and great drink selection, it's a place we always look forward to returning to. We can't wait for our next visit!

Chefs were amazing and was able to tailor the amount of wasabi if you ask and didn't mind the change which is a plus ! Quality of the fish was great ! The sauces were made well- my favorite was the yuzu kosho! My fiance loved the speed of the omakase- for me it was a little too fast. We loved every piece that came, we even ordered extras off the a la carte menu (10/10 for this lol). We definitely will be coming back to this place! Food: Ume Bowl with Ochazuke Set Price: $26 + $4.5…read moreOverall: I came here with my boyfriend to celebrate our anniversary back in April! It is in the general area with Cere Tea and Koi Palace. We arrived around 6PM and were seated immediately. We came for the seafood don and both got the UME with an addition of the ochazuke set. For $26 + 4.5 for the set, I think it's really worth the price and you get a good amount of fresh fish. Each bite felt like I was transported to Japan and eating a Kaisendon. Although we had to wait for a bit for the dashi soup to arrive , it was a delicious end to our meal. So comforting and hearty.

Same quality but Bigger portions and better dashi, for about the same price? Sign me up. My girlfriend and I skated the potato salad appetizer - a delicious DIY experience that let you control the texture of your potato salad (though I feel I overmixed), and two take bowls which were MASSIVE - easily could have shared. The seafood was fresh, the portions generous, and maybe it's because I have a more Americanized palate, but the mixed seafood dashi was richer and paired much better than a mild seafood chazuke. Plus it came with shiso leaves and tempura crunchies so it was really no comparison. Overall this was a delicious meal that left me extremely full, unlike other seafood bowls that leave you just a little too hungry. Given the tastiness of their dashi, I'll def be back to try their udon. Also, as an added bonus, my dogs love the little dashi fish topper on their food they sell separately at the front. Love! --- Sweet: amazing dashi broth, delicious seafood bowls. Rare instance of a dinner living up to the hype Bitter: wish they had mini versions of their more deluxe bowls!!

The portion size of their chicken katsu cutlet was enormous, and I loved how perfectly cooked it was. The batter was the perfect thickness and super crispy, without being greasy in the least. And the portion of rice and curry was perfect. I don't love pickles, but I like that they give you some pickles on the side to cut through the richness. And I also really appreciated the miso soup with just enough wakame and tofu. The batter was a bit sweet, but only in an after taste. The curry is not super spicy, and I do wonder if there is a way to make it more spicy by adding oil, but it still had a good depth of flavor that paired well with both the rice and the fried chicken.
