    Vegetable Tempura Entree

Another sushi spot has taken over the spot where V Sushi used to be. It's small inside with not a ton of table seating, so we sat at the sushi bar. The vegetable tempura was pretty good and we enjoyed the rolls here; they came out fast and the service was fine. The flavor combinations are simple and the variety of rolls are ok, they're not really unique or groundbreaking but the fish was fresh and rolls were well constructed so nothing to complain about. Overall, I'd come back.

Ordered the lion king roll for takeout this past Sunday. The place was bright and clean with a good amount of indoor seating for a small space. Staff provided friendly and professional service, and my order was ready in less than 10 minutes. The presentation in the takeout bag was simple but lovely, something worth noticing. And the taste was outstanding. Quality ingredients, freshly made, so much flavor in every bite. It didn't look like much and was ready pretty quickly, so I was pleasantly surprised and definitely impressed. Needless to say, I enjoyed my meal.

I was really sad to see Vsushi go. When this place opened up, I decided to give it a try. They had just opened for a couple days, the inside is cleaned up and modernized. They had a bunch of options to choose from on the menu besides sushi. I decided to get some rolls, and I was not disappointed. The rolls were delicious and for the price you pay, you can't beat it. I enjoyed every single thing, and another thing is that they had fresh wasabi! Not a lot of places had fresh wasabi! You do have to pay for it but that's totally fine. I will be coming back again.

Gohan (cooked rice in Japanese) Sushi is a newly established Japanese restaurant just opened three weeks ago located right across the parking lot from In-N-Out Burger. Came by on a Sunday morning greeted very warmly by the owner/manager first off she offer a complimentary cup of tea along with a glass of iced water. Going over the menu I order the following items: Katsu donburi a popular Japanese comfort food consisting of a deep fried pork cutlets simmered with onions layer with drizzled fried egg beaten over a large bowl of rice. Second on the list: Five crispy takoyaki ball shaped street food layer with sweet sauce stuffed with creamy soft diced octopus topped with kewpie mayo and lastly Ramune a popular soft drink. Spacious dine-in a sushi bar great place to hang out with families and co-workers will definitely be back for fried oysters and sushi-rolls prices are more reasonable than other Japanese restaurants so support your local business as May is AAPI Heritage month.

Newly opened. Minimal and simple decor. Rolls are fresh. Acceptable prices. Friendly staff. This restaurant replaced V Sushi. Would like to come back and try their bento items and chirashi. Not bad for a first experience here.

New sushi restaurant that opened up in the Milpitas area! Went on a Sunday evening and it was fairly empty but was greeted and seated immediately despite waiting for the entire party. Very good service and informative. Told us what was unavailable so that we're aware in advance and made sure we had enough tea to drink. Got the takoyaki and Ocean roll and both were delicious! The takoyaki was nice and crispy, and didn't burn my mouth but still at a perfect temperature to enjoy it. Ocean roll was a nice mix of salmon, unagi, and scallop. Very tasty! Overall a great experience and hope more people can support them

Excellent grand opening experience at Gohan Sushi! The fish was incredibly fresh, the spider rolls were so good and the service was friendly, reasonable prices for the quality .

It is in the general area with Cere Tea and Koi Palace. We arrived around 6PM and were seated immediately. We came for the seafood don and both got the UME with an addition of the ochazuke set. For $26 + 4.5 for the set, I think it's really worth the price and you get a good amount of fresh fish. Each bite felt like I was transported to Japan and eating a Kaisendon. Although we had to wait for a bit for the dashi soup to arrive , it was a delicious end to our meal. So comforting and hearty.

She said it was the Seafood bowls. My friend and I decided to try it. We started off with an appetizer Fried Gobo which was delicious. I got the Take bowl and she got the Matsu bowl for entree. We also tried the Ochazuke Set Option at the end where we added the hot dashi. You can see my video. It was delicious. The flavor was great before adding the hot dashi and after. We were told to remove any ginger before adding the hot dashi. I enjoyed the hot dashi. My friend and I enjoyed our dinner experience here. Authentic Japanese dish experience. I can't wait to come back and try other dishes.

We got the kaarage to start with which was super juicy and crispy. As someone who loves sauce, I really appreciated the absolute heap of mayo that came with the kaarage. Easily 5/5 side dish I got the aburasoba which was a really good portion. I would've preferred more toppings but taste wise it was still great. I had some of the tokusei ramen broth which was well seasoned and light yet still had a decent amount of depth in flavor. My partner really enjoyed it. Tokusei tsukemen 5/5: Super rich, flavorful broth. The buckwheat noodles were perfectly cooked and eating the cold noodles with the hot broth made the noodles hold the flavor much better. The meat was sous-vide and so tender. Tokusei ramen 4/5: It was savory and rich, I just prefer the tsukemen. Good option for those that prefer standard ramen. Chili-crisp cucumber 3/5: The cucumbers were fresh and crisp, but there was too much miso paste for our liking. Definitely check this place out! They can be quite busy, if you can join the waitlist from yelp ahead of time.

All the other places that I have eaten for quick sushi fixes pale in comparison due to several factors - fish seems not as fresh, fish portion is small, prices are higher and not a bang for your buck. Review long overdue!…read more Sen Dai Sushi is easily one of my favorite sushi spots in the South Bay. I've been coming here for a long time, and it's one of those places that consistently hits the spot whenever I'm craving good sushi. The In The Sea Roll is a must-order and definitely one of my favorites on the menu. Great combination of flavors and textures, and it's something I find myself ordering every time I visit. Another thing I really appreciate about Sen Dai is their selection. They're one of the few sushi spots around the area that serves umimasu (ocean trout). The flavor profile is like toro. If you see it available, definitely give it a try. It's a nice change from the usual fish options. And if you're feeling something new, ask about their off-menu item: inari nigiri topped with spicy tuna. The sweetness of the inari paired with the spicy tuna is such a good combination. Definitely worth asking for if you want to try something a little different. Overall, Sen Dai is a spot I'm always happy to come back to. Great selection, some unique options you don't see everywhere, and consistently satisfying sushi. If you're in the South Bay and looking for a new sushi spot to try, definitely add Sen Dai to your list!

I feel like I could have had a better experience, since it seems I went on an off day. FOOD: Fish Katsu (3/5) - First off, I felt that the oil used to fry the katsu was old. I had a strange filmy aftertaste with each bite. I kept dipping the katsu in the different sauces to mask the aftertaste but I stopped eating because I couldn't ignore it anymore. The fish used in fish katsu is cod, I felt like the waitress thought I was dumb for asking that question, even though it's not clarified on the menu. Sorry for asking... :/ It's normal for katsu places in Japan to have huge piles of cabbage so I wasn't surprised. The cabbage added a relief from all the fried fish I was eating. Miso soup was standard with nice big chunks of tofu; the rice was fluffy and light. Chicken Curry Katsu (3/5) - Chicken was juicy and plentiful, but honestly the curry had no taste. It added a that gravy like texture but didn't have that deep, rich curry flavor we think of when it comes to Japanese katsu. Usually at these spots you're asked how spicy you want the curry to be but here it's all mild, with no option to add your own spice. VIBE: Interior is simplistic, almost a little cramped. The tray that the food comes out on takes up the whole table space so don't expect to put anything on the table. It's very loud inside. Hard to have conversations. Also strict no outdoor food/drink policy. We were satisfied with the portions and, and didn't leave hungry, but still desired more from Katsu Gin. I'd love to give this place another try if I'm in the area.
