My new favorite sushi spot! If you're a salmon lover like me they have so many good options for you!! My favorite had to be either the mango crunch roll or the salmon skin roll. Next time I will be trying that salmon lovers roll! I also really liked their garlic edamame, it was almost buttery. I also really appreciated the servers there since they provided great service. And honestly really talking to get to know you. Inside is a little small so I don't recommend coming in with a party of 6+. But overall one of my new favorite sushi spots!

I could honestly eat sushi for every meal, and Yoshi Sushi in Milpitas makes that way too easy. Their late‑night happy hour is a daily temptation -- fresh cuts, generous portions, and flavors that hit every time. Everything comes out tasting clean, bright, and delicious, and the staff is always so friendly and welcoming. Whether it's a quick bite or a full spread, this spot never disappoints. A solid go‑to for late‑night sushi cravings.

This was recommended by a friend and I really liked it Menu is what you expect for a standard Bay area sushi place. The lunch special sushi are a great value for the basics. Did not try bento but it looked good. Exotic roll section was solid and diverse, lots of avocado inclusion as well which was unique Service was fast and direct. In some areas, you can see them actually making the sushi Ambiance is nice. Restaurant is well designed with chefs in the center, bar space on one side and tables on the other. Tables probably can't take over 6 people

    - Lots of parking available via a shared parking lot - Good for groups of all sizes (from one person to larger groups). Booths and high tables available - Good for kids as they have fish the kids can watch - Food was okay - obvious emphasis on the fusion as it was not Japanese at all - The restaurant wasn't too loud - we came at a good time when it was fairly quiet

I haven't been inside this restaurant myself, but I've ordered from them several times on DoorDash. I tried their Lion King Roll and Hotel California Roll, and both were absolutely delicious. Even though takeout doesn't have the same freshness as dining in, the sashimi was still tender, flavorful, and free of any fishy taste. The salmon's rich flavor combined with the chewy sushi rice completely satisfied my hunger for the whole day. The only downside is that it's a bit pricey, but the food is truly tasty and worth recommending!

Small place to dine in, but the service is fast and the sushi is delicious. It seemed pretty busy when i arrived with no reservation. I must have waited about 5 minutes or less for a booth table. You order by scanning a barcode on the table. I like this because you order the food yourself and the only wait is for the food to arrive. Then once you're done eating, you pay by scanning the barcode again or you can ask someone working there to bring you the bill. The sushi was very delicious. I finished two sushi rolls, could have went for a third roll, but it was getting late. I posted below my two favorite rolls. I definitely recommend trying this place out if you love sushi!

They put Berna in a corner and forgot about her. We are regulars at this place and were greeted nicely as we walked in. There was another group waiting before us so my husband and I placed our name on the waiting list. There was a two top open, but the server knew I would not be able to sit on the high chair since I am on a wheelchair. So we waited. We saw a booth getting cleaned and we got our hopes up! Twenty minutes of waiting and I can finally order my favorite Yoshi Special roll! A group of three just walked in, surely they would have to wait. But I was so, so wrong. We were on the other side of the sushi bar so my wheelchair would be out of the way, but I guess we were also out of sight. The newly arrived party was called first. The list was not checked. Before we left, my husband told the waiter to take our name off the list because our table was given away. The waiter just shrugged. No cares. No apologies. This is so disappointing as this is our regular sushi spot.

Decent sushi spot in Milpitas! Service was quick and they brought out our plates fast. This is it my go place but if you're looking for a quick snack this is it.

Came in since it was close to our hotel, was a rainy night and didn't want to drive too far. Was seated quickly and our drink order taken. You scan the QR code and can order right in the app or order from the waiter. Since we were on 1 bill we decided it would be easier to order from the waiter than passing the phone around to order. We ordered 3 apps, baked mussels, shrimp tempura and chicken karaage. Waiter came back and took our sushi order, I had the sashimi special and the 49er roll. And that's where things went downhill. My colleagues ordered a roll each. We got the sashimi and the 2 rolls, then the 49er roll. He explained the apps were running behind because they had a large order from a delivery app. We were almost done with the sushi when the mussels came out, and completely done by the time the other 2 apps came out. Service was just ok, after the food came out was hard to get anyone's attention, would buzz right by while we sat with empty cups waiting for tea. Food was ok, 49er roll and shrimp tempura were stars of the show. Small inside with about 10 tables and a decent size sushi counter. Not bad but probably wouldn't go back.

Came during my lunch break and grabbed some food to go. I was starving, so it definitely hit the spot! The food was fresh and tasty - no complaints there. Everything was well-prepared and packed nicely for takeout. The service was quick and efficient, which I really appreciated since I was on a time crunch. The place had a calm and clean vibe inside. My only minor issue was that the miso soup could've been a bit hotter, but otherwise everything was solid.

Honestly one of my favorite casual sushi places in the Bay Area! I go here every time I have a sushi craving. The prices are reasonable and I absolutely love how the sashimi is cut super thick. The sashimi is thick, fresh and absolutely delicious, and it's a must-order every time I go. I also always order their sashimi salad, which also is filled with thick cut sashimi. The sauce is also tangy and goes well with the salad. Another favorite item is their baked mussel. They do provide a lot of crab meat, but I love to add extra cream cheese for that creamy cheesy flavor. They also take special requests, such as hand roll without the rice. Also, the staff is super friendly and I love how sometimes they like to have a drink with us at the table. I will continue to come here every time for a sushi night!

Came here again and left unimpressed. It is very overpriced for the portion sizes, the maki's are $8 for 6 pieces. The baked rolls have a lot of sauce on it making it very messy to eat. The tuna had a weird after taste and made me pretty sick and I got food poisoning for a few days after but the yellow tail and salmon were okay. It was $130 for 5 rolls and 3 maki's. Service was okay, made us wait outside and the bags were fairly unstable.

    Jasmin M.

I love sashimi. Got the love tray. Honestly think it's enough to feed 3-4 ppl. Had a lot of leftovers. Easy app ordering. Very friendly staff. Will visit again. Fish was very fresh 10/10.

Although Taishoken is known for their tsukemen, I'll always opt for mazesoba if I see it on a menu. The mazesoba here is easily some of the best I've had in the Bay Area. The included piece of chashu is well-seasoned, fall apart tender and had a good balance of lean to fatty meat. The noodles are cooked to perfection and have a really nice chew to them. There is just the right amount of sauce in the dish, and the raw egg yolk adds a wonderful richness that coats each strand of noodle when mixed. Included with your mazesoba is a small side of vinegar. I would definitely recommend trying out the mixed mazesoba on its own -- without the vinegar, and adding in the vinegar about half-way in in order to try out a completely different flavor profile of the noodles. The acidity of the vinegar cuts through the richness and keeps you coming back for bite after bite. If you've never tried mazesoba before, I can't recommend it enough at Taishoken. I can't wait to stop by again for another bowl.

We ordered the cheese mochi pizza, salmon shimeji mushroom spaghetti, and risotto. The mochi cheese pizza was the clear highlight. You can taste the mochi texture throughout. We were debating whether mochi was blended into the dough or the cheese. Definitely worth trying if you're a mochi lover. The Salmon Shimeji Mushroom Spaghetti is listed as one of the more popular pasta dishes, and it earned that reputation. The cream and seafood flavors blended nicely. The risotto, however, was a bit of a letdown as it was way too salty for our taste. Since I mentioned we were celebrating a birthday, our waitress brought a sweet touch: two scoops of ice cream with a candle. We also ordered the matcha tiramisu, which was pleasant but not particularly memorable -- not overly sweet, but nothing that lingered either. And I've tried a fair share of omakase places. The prix fixe 9 course meal was $150 per person, and I personally feel the quality of the ingredients and overall seasoning of the dishes did not meet that price point. It was already a rough start with the appetizers. I'm also a texture person so maybe someone else would like these but I was not a fan of the vegetable jelly nor the goopy seaweed salad. Had I known this prior to dining I don't think I would have wanted to go with the omakase menu. The chawanmushi was very underseasoned and missing salt completely. On the menu it says it has crab in it but the only crab meat you get with it comes in a tiny claw that you have no way of digging out The nigiri, which I was most excited for, fell VERY flat. The fish wasn't particularly fresh and I found a bone in my nigiri. (??) The rice was also really dry and mushy. I was genuinely so disappointed at this. Miso sea bass was overly sweet which didn't really work with how fatty the fish was. It was too much. Also found more bones in the miso sea bass but that's less gobsmacking than finding it in your nigiri. The dessert, matcha tiramisu, just tasted like straight up cream and not sweet at all. I don't have a sweet tooth by any means but this could've used sugar. I didn't feel very good eating this, the fattiness of the cream plus not having any flavor ruined it for me :( Overall, the main theme is just the lack of seasoning in any of the dishes plus ingredients not being fresh. I know it's Kaiseki style, but the dishes also seemed very uninspired and plating was kinda messy. When I looked closely, the plates weren't clean and there were marks.. Maybe I'm being nitpicky but at a price point like this, the details matter. Word of advice, if you live in South Bay and want omakase, just take your $ and drive an hour up to SF. My bf took me here to celebrate our anniversary and I feel awful about how bad it was.. +1 star for the friendly service.
