Oysters, Warriors Roll, Triple S Roll, otoro, and squid

Not super busy on a Tuesday night. The inside of the place is very modern and clean. Great service! The server greeted us warmly and quickly. She efficiently explained that we ordered off the iPad, and pointed out the weekday deals (BOGO oysters and warriors roll). Our water/tea was never too low for long. We took advantage of the deals and got the Oysters, Warriors Roll, Triple S Roll, otoro, and grilled squid. We usually order nigiri but were pleasantly surprised by the rolls. Highlight was definitely the otoro, with the pickled wasabi. Grilled squid was nothing special though. Would come back again!

We came here for dinner recently, and had a reservation. We were seated promptly and there was self-service ordering with a tablet. Our food was fresh and we started with the garlic butter edamame which was really good, and the chicken karage which was decent. We also got 2 rolls: sunshine roll and the fire dragon roll which were both great. We tried the mango sake and the sparkling yuzu sake which was my favorite. All in all a great spot for dinner with friends or a date, I would come here again.

This is a really nice new restaurant in the area! Been a few times and tried a variety of things. My favorite is the clam sake soup - so good! Portions are good and they have good discounts right now during the week!

1BILLION BIG BOOMS!!! My new favvv sushi restaurant the quality was truly amazebeans and everything tasted yummylicious and fresh like it came straight out of Japan LOL XD. Defff get their chirashi bowl as it was 36$ which is pretty affordable for the quality hehe. Double toro roll was a 10/10, all the nigiris 10/10, etc!!! Service was kind of lacking but we did come on a Friday night around 8, other than that the interior was cutesy and I shall be back teehee :)

This location has changed so much over the last 5 years. I honestly liked the location that was here before Sushi Umami. Their appetizers and small plates were really good. But we are here now, so I had to try it as well. You order on the iPad so it's hard to post menu photos, but if you click order online for pickup/delivery, you can see the menu and description included as well as a photo of the dish. We got the double toro, mango tuna, and the sunshine roll. Loved all 3 rolls! The hamachi carpaccio was my least favorite, it was very basic and it didnt seem like carpaccio at all. They had cute plates and utensils and the decoration inside was very nice as well. It was just a little cramped. Overall the sushi was great, and I'm adding this to my list of places to come back to for sushi. You can never have too many good sushi places!

Best value to come M-Thur! Their buy one get one oyster is great deal, $10 for 6, they have sauce, scallions, tobiko, and the oysters are fat and medium size. They also have the Warriors Roll buy 1 got 1 free, so literally under $10 per roll. We also tried other rolls, fried squid tentacles, fried soft shell crabs, chicken karaage, unagi don set, and a sake steamed clam soup. I like the Hokkaido Scallop Roll, fresh. The Warriors Roll is also good, it has the right amount of ingredients against the rice, despite it's on sale. All their fried items are good as they are freshly made and the oil feels new, not stale. And you can request them to cut up the fried crab so not to destroy the pretty plating but also easy to share. The Rainbow Roll and Mango Tuna Rolls are ok but I'm not a fan. I didn't like the Sake Steamed Clams the most. The clams were great, just the soup had too much ginger and not a balanced clam flavor. We tried the mango nigori sake, not good, tastes just like mango juice, too sweet and thick. The setting is clean and comfortable with 6 people on a long booth seat. Service is friendly, slightly slow in bringing drinks when we ordered hot tea and other beverages. It's hard for big parties, I know, as we shared food and ask for additional bowls and cups. Food came in a good speed, which is great. We'll be back again on another weekday night!

I think this is a rainbow roll

Everything was great except we ordered this roll (see pic ) via the tablet and not more than two minutes after submitting the order , the waitress plopped it down on our table. I said "so fast!?" And she didnt say anything. It was an ok roll, but what I didn't like was it seems they may have some rolls premade ...I've never seen that at a nice sushi restaurant before. I would like to ask for the restaurant to not do this on my roll, but I didn't want to spoil the rest of my ordered sushi

My friend and I visited this restaurant after seeing tiktok review that highly recommended the food but unfortunately our experiences was quite disappointed. The oyster shooter we ordered isn't fresh and it is kinda fishy taste which made them unappertizing. Next we ordered grilled hamachi fish cheek. I always had it at different restaurants I thought it will be the same buttery and and rich. However this is very first time it turned out dried and they heavily seasoned like a Chinese style grilled. The other two dishes were just average. To make the matter worse, about 40 mins after the meal, I started experiencing stomach pain and diarrhea. I will surely not coming back

Came here on a Thursday around 5:30 PM, just before the dinner rush, and we were seated right away. They had two great BOGO specials, one for oysters and another for a sushi roll. The sashimi was very fresh! The tempura was a bit heavier than I prefer, but everything else was enjoyable. Great spot for a date night! Overall, it was a positive experience, and I'd come back.

New sushi spot in Milpitas!! It was our first time here; we ended up landing on Sushi Umami when craving handrolls. Every photo of their food on Yelp looked beautiful and they definitely lived up to our expectations! They're located right by the busy intersection of Dixon Landing / Milpitas Blvd. We came in for a Friday dinner shortly after 5pm and were met without a wait, though it seemed to get much busier closer to 6:30-7pm. The space here is beautiful. You can tell that they were very intentional with how the restaurant was decorated. I loved how light and spacious it felt. Ordering is done via an iPad, and our food came out very quickly after we sent our orders in. As for what we got: + Omakase (9pc) ($50): Delicious! The fish tasted fresh. I think the only piece that I didn't love was the squid, and TBH the rice... the rice was a bit dry. On the bright side, presentation was beautiful! + Sashimi Box (18pc) ($52): I'd keep in mind that the fish selection is essentially the same as the omakase; had I realized this, I'd probably go for a roll next time lol. + Spicy Scallop Handroll ($8.50): A lil bit too much spicy mayo tbh, but the scallop tasted fresh and the handroll was well constructed! + Salmon Skin Handroll: LOOOOVE me a good salmon skin roll. It was a bit awkwardly constructed because there was a ton of salmon skin on one half of it and almost none on the other half, but nothing my chopsticks couldn't fix. There were only 2 servers working the entire restaurant, so things got a bit busy and it felt difficult to get their attention. It actually took longer for us to check out / get the bill than to get our food. But, the servers were generally friendly and we appreciated how quick the actual meal was!

Hidden gem! My husband and I came her on a rare date night and truly enjoyed our experience! My husband tried their chicken teriyaki bento box and every item was tasty. I tried a few of rolls and a sashimi selection. Nice ambience and peaceful decor.

The seafood here was so fresh and everything left me wanting more! I came with my friends on a Friday night around 9:30 PM and were able to get seated right away. I got the Double Toro Roll which was so good! I'm not the biggest fan of wasabi, but the fresh wasabi complimented the roll really well. In addition, I got the Deluxe Chirashi which had a good variation of seafood including uni, sweet shrimp, salmon, scallops, etc. I am a scallop and toro lover and was really satisfied with the quality of the sashimi :) The owners were so friendly and constantly made sure everything was up to par, making our experience one of the best. Safe to say, this is one of my new favorite sushi spots in the bay area and I'll definitely come back in the near future!

I used to go to the restaurant that was here before. I was sad when it closed, but I think this restaurant is such a good replacement for it. They remodeled it's so nicely. The booths fit more people and I like the iPad menus. I ordered a salmon bento box and it was a generous portion. The prices are reasonable and service was great. I would definitely come back here.

It is in the general area with Cere Tea and Koi Palace. We arrived around 6PM and were seated immediately. We came for the seafood don and both got the UME with an addition of the ochazuke set. For $26 + 4.5 for the set, I think it's really worth the price and you get a good amount of fresh fish. Each bite felt like I was transported to Japan and eating a Kaisendon. I feel like I could have had a better experience, since it seems I went on an off day. FOOD: Fish Katsu (3/5) - First off, I felt that the oil used to fry the katsu was old. I had a strange filmy aftertaste with each bite. I kept dipping the katsu in the different sauces to mask the aftertaste but I stopped eating because I couldn't ignore it anymore. The fish used in fish katsu is cod, I felt like the waitress thought I was dumb for asking that question, even though it's not clarified on the menu. Sorry for asking... :/ It's normal for katsu places in Japan to have huge piles of cabbage so I wasn't surprised. The cabbage added a relief from all the fried fish I was eating. Miso soup was standard with nice big chunks of tofu; the rice was fluffy and light. Chicken Curry Katsu (3/5) - Chicken was juicy and plentiful, but honestly the curry had no taste. It added a that gravy like texture but didn't have that deep, rich curry flavor we think of when it comes to Japanese katsu. Usually at these spots you're asked how spicy you want the curry to be but here it's all mild, with no option to add your own spice. VIBE: Interior is simplistic, almost a little cramped. The tray that the food comes out on takes up the whole table space so don't expect to put anything on the table. It's very loud inside. Hard to have conversations. Also strict no outdoor food/drink policy. We were satisfied with the portions and, and didn't leave hungry, but still desired more from Katsu Gin. I'd love to give this place another try if I'm in the area.

Spicy tsukemen: 6/10 I loooove tsukemen and I have gone to Tsujita in LA & SGV many times, so I was excited to finally try a new dipping ramen place! However the spicy tsukemen unfortunately did not live up to my expectations I would say the spice level is at a medium, so this is a warning to those who are unable to tolerate spice. The noodles were super slippery so it made it hard to eat with chopsticks, especially having to dip it into the broth, so we ended up asking for forks lol. The broth was also not as thick as I would've liked, so I felt like the noodles weren't really able to pick up the flavor from the broth. The pork belly and meat toppings were delicious though!

My husband and I have experienced both the 13-course Kamikaze omakase at the sushi bar and regular table dining, and every visit has been consistently excellent. If you're looking for an interactive dining experience, I highly recommend sitting at the sushi bar. Watching the chefs prepare each course makes the meal even more enjoyable. One thing we really appreciate is how easy it is to make a reservation. The staff is always welcoming, attentive, and happy to offer recommendations based on your preferences. They genuinely make you feel taken care of from the moment you arrive. The 13-course Kamikaze menu is an incredible value for the quality you're getting. Even better, they rotate the menu every month, which keeps every visit exciting. It's refreshing to return to a restaurant knowing you'll get to try new creations instead of the exact same meal each time. Every piece of fish we've had has been exceptionally fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. The restaurant itself is absolutely gorgeous. You can tell they put a lot of thought into the design and atmosphere. The modern aesthetic creates an inviting space that feels upscale while still being comfortable. They also offer a fantastic cocktail menu along with an impressive selection of sake. My husband and I enjoy trying different sakes, and while quality sake isn't inexpensive, the selection here is well worth it. Parking is generally easy, though it can get a little busier since it's located near a popular supermarket. Even so, we've never found it to be much of an issue.
