I had made an advanced reservation by phone for my group of 12 people to celebrate a birthday. It was for a Saturday at 6pm. Despite my group was 20 minutes late, the staffs were very accommodating. We were split between 2 tables close to each other. Each table had 1 grill. We opted for the $55/pp AYCE premium menu. The first order was taken by the staff. Each subsequent order was taken on our phones via QR code. It seemed we ordered much more than the 6 item limit allowed per round and it wasn't an issue. Items came out fast. Not only were the Wagyu items good, but so were most of the appetizers and side dishes including: Takoyaki, fried squid tentacles, agedashi tofu, karaage and miso eggplant. Some were just ok. I found the cheese corn to have too much mayo, the garlic fries were mid and the edamame had too much black pepper. If you are thinking of getting plain rice, get a donburi bowl because that way you have rice and meat too. When our 90 minutes up, we were never rushed to leave. We didn't even get a reminder that our time was running out. Each staff was friendly. We would definitely come back again.

Came here to celebrate a friends birthday and we ordered the premium menu ($55/person) and I really enjoyed every meat that we ordered. The ordering system is via a website so you can keep ordering without waiting for a server to come to you. The food did come out pretty slow which may be because you are not assigned 1 specific server, but other than that it was a great meal! I definitely recommend upgrading for the wagyu meats. All of the appetizers and sides were great too. It's lively inside with plenty of seating. Def worth a try!

Weekday visit for lunch. First time here. We did the signature. Decent size restaurant with good amount of tables. Service was efficient. The person helping was also nice. Easy ordering thru your phone. We liked the Brisket. My husband loved the Intestine and Pork Shoulder. Get the Vegetables too! We will be back if in the area to try the other premium menu. I go to Ushiya quite often because it's a short distance from me, and I always enjoy the variety on their menu. I especially like their sides, such as the soups and fried appetizers. They offer a wide selection, and the ability to order from your phone makes everything easy. However, the quality of the meat isn't the best. That said, given that the price is relatively affordable, I would still go back.

Was visiting the area and we found this place as a recommended spot. They have two options for AYCE, and we chose the cheaper option. There was thankfully no line when we came for dinner around 7:30PM on a Saturday and were seated immediately. Place was bustling and staff were quickly moving around delivering orders. There was music playing and it was a bit loud. Staff checked in with us around 2 or 3 times to verify last call for our 90 minute seat time. The grill was hot the entire time and the grill was changed once. Bussers were also going around quickly picking up empty plates. Tables had a foldable portion where all the delivered food could be placed while the majority of the table is used for cooking and eating. We had to flag down a waiter to refill our water, but they were quick to help. There was a variety of sauce options available (the house spicy sauce was pretty good) and salt/pepper was in a smaller dish. To order, there's a laminated menu, and a QR code menu you can use to directly order into the kitchen. It's 6 orders at a time, but there was no limit to how many 6 order submissions you can make in a certain time frame. My favorite items were: marinated pork shoulder, takoyaki, cheese corn, and lettuce. The lettuce was crisp and fresh, and paired well with the corn cheese, meat, onion, salt/pepper, and sauce, for a delicious bite. There is an additional charge for soda, but it was refillable. They also have an empty plate which can be used as the "cooked food" plate to avoid cross contamination. There were plenty of options, and would love to come back and one day try the more expensive option.

Not a bad choice for Ayce. Food assortment is alright. We did enjoy most of the first rounds of meat, but once we got to the second round of the same meats, two of the meats were super tough to chew for some reason and it wasn't appetizing anymore. Inconsistent cuts methinks. The ones I'd get again would be short rib, finger rib, brisket. The raw yukke was like freshly frozen cut of meat. I wasn't super mad at it but if it could've been just a little less frozen (but it's not my first time I've had it prepared this cold). The sauce choices however were pretty good. We also didn't smell too terrible after our meal. We did notice that some people were dining on the other side with dogs leashed to a pole, and that was kind of a turn off. Service - 3 / Ambiance - 3 / Food - 3 / Price - 3

High quality cuts of meat for less $60 per person is a great deal. Great food and great service. Came here after a quick mission peak hike ( wasn't a quick hike) and got here an hour before they closed. They allowed us to stay after the doors were closed which I felt bad but they were very kind. We came with empty stomachs and left really full. Will definitely be back again with more family and friends. If you're in Milpitas it's a must try.

If you're expecting good quality Japanese wagyu, don't come - the quality of meats is far from it. Starting off, there was one server that explains the menu and take your order for the first round, but afterwards, you can order from the QR code. Very efficient and the meats came out fast. From the premium section, we tried their Harami, brisket, ribeye, beef tongue and zabuton. Honestly, I can barely taste the difference from one another. Maybe since it was labeled as wagyu, I was expecting tenderness and juiciness. Instead, the meats were very lean and chewy. They also didn't have any beef toro which was disappointing. Tables were very close together as well. But they did have a lot of tables/seating.

Finally made time to eat here. The place is huge and my party walked in on a weekend evening without reservations. We were seated within minutes. Menu is all you can eat for 90 mins. There's the regular price of $35 per person or the upgrade price of $55 per person. The upgraded side includes premium cuts of meat like Wagyu. The tables are different than Korean bbq. The vents are built around the grill instead of a huge vent overhead. Ordering is done by QR code and a max of 6 plates can be ordered at a time. This is time consuming since every single plate counts toward that 6 such as a side of mushrooms or a cup of lettuce. So get all your meat orders in before ordering sides and sauces. The meat comes out in small trays which after a while they start to take up valuable table space. The meat selection on the printed menu and the QR menu doesn't really line up but we found what we wanted eventually. Grills are changed upon request and service was quick. I think this is great for two people or a small group. But not for a big family.

Came with a couple of our friends to get lunch. Ushiya is in a cursed location- over the years, many places have inhabited this spot, like malu bian bian and tk noodle, with tk noodle living the longest in my memory. We had to wait a decent amount on a saturday, something like 40 minutes. The expectations were high because of the hype behind this place. The interior doesn't change too much over the years. The previous restauraunts all had similar interiors and this looks more or less like a regular kbbq store. Their grills are kinda neat though! But because of the lack of holes, oil sloshes around. We personally felt it was pretty good but the meat quality was not leaps and bounds above solid kbbq. With the other options available This didn't stand out too much to us but it was solid for sure. I'd try it again. Maybe the batches we had were less marbled. We had a good experience as a group. Overall nothing wrong with it and solid meat and service.

This is one of the better AYCE Japanese BBQ in the South Bay that my husband and I have had. We went here for a date night on a weekday and were seated fairly quickly. It's a very spacious spot. I love that it isn't smoky like KBBQ and you leave without stinking like food smoke. There are 2 different tiers of meat options, Signature $35/person and Premium $55/person with the time limit of 2hrs. Premium tier also includes everything off the Signature tier. We chose the Premium option. Appetizers and sides are all included in the price. Each order of meat/sides came out within just a few minutes after ordering, we barely waited for anything to come out. Not all meats are good until we found the better ones and that made the experience SO MUCH better! Some of the initial meats we ordered were so tough and chewy they were bad. If you know what's good and order that right off the bat, the experience will probably be 10/10. Sauces are all at your table so no need to get up and down to get your sauce. Bottom line: Good value, good quality. Already thinking of when we'll come back!

Meat Lovers Heaven - AYCE! They have two menus: the Signature at $35/person and the Premium at $55/person. We went with the Premium since it includes everything from the Signature plus a bunch of Wagyu beef cuts. Meat quality was on point, service was quick, and we ordered multiple rounds to try as much as we could. Left very full and very happy.

I came here a few times and got the chance to try the signature and the premium menu. Honestly, I was fine with the signature menu. I thought the meat, side dish, appetizer, drink selections was great. The spicy beef soup wasn't as spicy as I thought. In fact, there wasn't any spice at all. Everything came out quick. I liked their sauce selections. Service was great. My nephew loves this place.

It's worth the time and effort for high quality meats; here it's Japanese style meat and bbq aka yakiniku. The service is wonderful too, the owner and staff are always very personable and eager to please each time we visit for the past three years. The place is warm and clean, I appreciate the overhead vents at each table. They are able to confidently accommodate large parties to two person groups. They can get busy and full on the weekends though, so consider making reservations. My friends and I don't gorge on meat as much as we used to, but when we do, Meat Time is high on the rotation due to the high quality meats and cuts, plus Japanese style bbq. We always order the premium selection of the all you can eat menu which is $68/person. You choose the cuts you want and the servers will bring them to you for you to grill at your table. They have extra premium wagyu cuts that are priced ala carte and worth it every time. They promptly tended to our orders and customers started trinkling in for the next 30 min. We ordered the classic beef ribs, pulled pork, and sliced briskets with a side of coleslaw and rice. We were excited to try their many sauces at the table. They had a mustard sauce that paired nicely with the brisket and pulled pork. The sweet, honey bbq and the spicy bbq paired nicely with the ribs. Only let down was the meats didnt have enough of that wood-smoked taste i was hoping for. It was definitely a great choice coming during lunch as we were quite full after ordering one of their happy hour shareables of Chips & Queso (kind of pricey even for happy hour in my opinion for chips and cheese). Honestly wished we got their Chili Cheese Fries or their other fries which were the same price than just chips and dip LOL. But it was a good hold over food with us drinking a bit (at least for me). Shoutout to the only server who was working on a late Friday afternoon as she was doing her best to accommodate everyone + trying to clean up the previous tables. It was kind of sad seeing that the other workers didn't help bus the tables in my opinion. Overall, a great place to watch sports and have some good whiskey as this restaurant is known for their whiskey selections! The lunch BBQ exceeded our expectations, and we would definitely come back for another lunch special meal but probably with 3 meats this time!

This is located in Santana Row. i placed in order online for a pick up and it was such an easy…read moreprocess too. i've never been here before, but have been dying to try it out. My sister wanted bbq for her birthday and so we opted for this place. i loved they way that it was decorated. it's like a bar and bbq served in one place. Since i've never been here before i was really surprised by their portion sizes. it was well worth the money spent and picking up was easy too. super nice guys who helped me. i was a bit confused on what kind of sauces they had. the person who helped me gave me a run down and explained their sauces. they also gave me some samples to try to take home as welll. by far i think id have to agree that their tin roof sauce is the best sauce my sister even wanted to know if she could just buy their bbq sauce. other then that we ordered roughly a good portion of bbq- pulled pork, cheddar cheese jalapeño sausage, burnt ends, brisket, chicken wings, and ribs. our sides were the cajun rice, green beans, cole slaw and corn succatash. would probably love to come back for their lunch special one of these days.
