My favorite spot for soup! I love getting the Mint Sirloin Soup. I got covid and I ordered the soup to help me recover. The first time I had this dish I was so surprised! It was DELICIOUS! Initially, I was scared that the soup wouldn't taste good with the mint. Turns out the soup was very savory and the mint was subtle. I can't quite describe the flavor.. but I highly recommend it! It was a delicious soup that helped me recover quickly and a dish that I didn't get tired of. I occasionally crave it outside of being sick. If you order to- go, the soup comes in a giant tub container! Love this! Means that you're not getting less when ordering take out. Very happy with this soup! I hope to order again soon!

Super delicious food! The mushroom rice with steak was extremely umami forward, and the chimichurri sauce paired perfectly with the rice/steak. Steak was also perfectly cooked (medium rare)! The mapo udon had the perfect amount of spice to it and a flavorful sauce. The udon was not overdone and chewy, which served as a great noodle factor in the meal. The wagyu and mushroom dish was also delicious! The mushrooms were buttered and seasoned nicely. We also ordered shrimp cakes and taro cubes, but I would rather pass on those!

The food is good but the portions are pretty tiny. The New Zealand lamb comes with three lamb lollipops. They were seasoned and cooked really well. I do enjoy a nice crust. The braised beef and daikon was VERY spicy. The spice was infused into the meat. If that's your thing, you'll love it. Spice non-fans, stay away. The mushroom fried rice was okay. I think it was a bit oily, but that's just part of the territory when cooking mushrooms.

First experience with Ghizhou cuisine and the results were mixed, but I appreciated its presentations & innovative menu mushroom truffle oil fried rice with steak (3/5): rice was very flavorful, steak was perfectly cooked to medium rare, but the beef & fatty parts were still a bit tough to chew, perhaps need to use higher grade beef House special grilled sea bass (2/5): it was simply deep-fried fish that was overly seasoned, I couldn't taste the fish itself Braised beef brisket w/radish Sichuan style (4/5): very tender and delish, slight numbing from sichuan peppercorn spaghetti w/spicy beef bone (3/5): my friends liked it but I thought it was too spicy and overpowered the taste of any spahgetty.

Interesting fusion Chinese restaurant has a lot of variety to try but mostly spicy food. Portions are smaller than typical Chinese restaurants. We ordered the following: - roasted chicken 5/5 not spicy - salad with egg 5/5 like the tomato spicy dressing - mapo tofu 4/5 - fried taro 5/5 delicious appetizer - grilled fish 4/5 small whole fish, tasty but dry - spicy beef spaghetti 4/5 spaghetti wasn't too spicy but beef was Service was very attentive. Server helped us order and recommended many of the dishes. Restaurant is not very big and has good space between tables.

DoorDash order, so no comment on service or ambiance. The menu itself is quite interesting, I would love to try other dishes next time. This place features cuisines from side country provinces in China such as Xinjiang, Inner Mongolia and Yunan. A lot of us tried the Assorted Mushrooms Fried Rice w /Salted Scallions Steak, maybe for a safe option. The box of food came with slices of beef on top of some fried rice mixed with truffle and ginger and onion mixture. The rice is flavorful and the beef slices are soft. The appetizer Cold Tofu w/ Chrysanthemum is chopped tofu with some very small dried shrimp to increase flavor; it tasted refreshing and surprisingly soft as it doesn't look like it's using the softest kind of tofu. Also tried the Yun Nan Style Beef Sirloin Soup w/ Mint, the beef is flavorful ad interestingly the mint and beef tastes are quite matching. Even though there are lots of mints in the soup, the flavor is not overpowering. Deep-fried Lipu Taro is another appetizer and it tasted great with or without sauce and it came with 2 different sauces. I will definitely come back to try other dishes!

I came here with my parents one day after seeing this place on an IG post and needless to say, it was worth the drive! The portions were relatively small but was still able to satisfy 3 people and their growling stomachs. The items ordered; Appetizer sampler - This dish was relatively solid! It came with several different items, croquettes that tasted like it had shrimp in them, fried taro cubes, these were oddly satisfying. They were savory yet had a touch of sweetness to them and tasted very creamy due to the texture. Fried Chicken cartilage that was nice and crunchy with chilis. It also had cured Duck. The duck was okay. Flavor was decent, not too salty. Crispy pork ribs - Heavily fried and topped with chili crisp. The pork was fried so well. The seasoning had a very addictive flavor to it that made me want to eat more an more of it. Mapo Udon - Good concept, the udon was cooked al dente and every slurp of noodle had a burst of flavor to it. All in all, not bad! A different style of Chinese Fusion food that should be tried at least twice most definitely!

For the dishes ordered, this place is a solid 4/5 Fried Handmade Shrimp Cake - fried perfectly and was a great appetizer to start off with Crispy Pork Ribs w/ Fried Garlic & Chili - I enjoyed the fried garlic and chili which added a nice extra crunch and texture to the overall dish. I thought it would be spicy, but it wasn't at all--but I still enjoyed the dish regardless Roasted Organic Chicken w/ Green Scallions - nice and crispy on the outside and the chicken wasn't overcooked Tom Yum Kung Seafood Soup - had a variety of seafood and was packed with so much flavor. It was nice and comforting Assorted Mushrooms Fried Rice w/ Salted Scallions Steak - steak wasn't overcooked and was soft. It paired well with the mushroom fried rice You are given a tablet to look through the menu items and then your server will take your order when you're ready. Portion sizes are smaller compared to other Asian restaurants especially for the price range. Place is decently sized with tables and booths.

When it comes to Chinese food I tend to be more selective then I heard about Miss Shang's restaurant serving a combination of Chinese fusion dishes. Came by on a Thursday afternoon wasn't even crowded and greeted by a wonderful staff and able to be seated right away. First off placed your order by scanning the QR code and gives you a whole list of menu items individually price so I chose the popular casserole ma-po tofu and I added rice and a side dish. No need to asked for a glass of water there's a pitcher of iced water with slice of lemon how rewarding is that. After 10 minutes or so the server brought over a hot sizzling pot a stir-fried casserole tofu on a hot plate/sizzling and I can smell the rich aroma along with side dishes. I like when it hot and spicy with a taste of bean paste and ground meat beef. Actually is a known Sichuan dish very flavorsble and so enriching. Would definitely come back and tried one of the other dishes. +

I have feelings for the spicy spaghetti--it's super spicy but creamy and umami and I can't stop thinking about it! Second favorite is the bak kuh teh, I just wish it came with more Chinese donut sticks. The service is extremely attentive! Best meal I had in a long time and can't wait to go back

This is my second visit, and I absolutely love this place. The portions are small, but every dish is crafted with precision and tastes delightful. There's no need to wait for a table, the dishes are served promptly, and the service is excellent. Glazed Honey Crispy Shrimp The shrimp is tender with a crispy shell, garnished with vegetables, pomegranate seeds, and cherry tomatoes. The dish leans towards sweetness, making it a perfect appetizer. Nanjing Style Salted Duck The duck is rich yet not greasy, with just the right amount of saltiness. The only downside is the small portion size, as most of it is bone, with only 3-4 pieces of actual duck meat. Assorted Mushrooms Fried Rice with Salted Scallions Steak This dish is a must-try. The mushrooms are tender, and the steak is cooked to perfection, topped with seasoned scallions. When mixed together, the fragrance of rosemary and scallion oil, combined with the savory mushrooms and steak juices coating the rice, creates a flavorful experience. Deep-Fried Marinated Beef Tongue with Litsea Cubeba Sauce The beef tongue is cut into large chunks, breaded, and fried. The tongue itself is relatively plain, but the accompanying dipping sauce adds a unique and interesting flavor. Casserole with Braised Tomato, Mushroom & Sliced Beef The portion is small, but the taste is excellent. The sliced beef is tender, and the tangy tomato broth makes it very appetizing and pairs well with rice. Fried New Zealand Lamb Rack This is the most ordinary dish among all those I tried.

Awesome Asian fusion restaurant in Milpitas! Food was great, service was fast, overall a super good experience :) Glazed Honey Crispy Shrimp (5/5): Super yummy, fried and glazed to perfection. Nanjing Style Salted Duck (4/5): Good taste, but duck was pretty bony so there wasn't much meat to eat. Casserole with Braised Tomato, Mushrooms, and Sliced Beef (5/5): Yummy tomato soup base, like a mini beef hotpot. Assorted Mushrooms Fried Rice with Salted Scallion Steak (5/5): This was super good, the steak was cooked perfectly to medium rare and the entire dish was super flavorful. Fried New Zealand Lamb Rack with Thyme (4/5): Tasty, but could've been a little more flavorful.

I would understand Asian fusion between two Asian countries, but this is different since it's quite unusual to blend Asian and European ingredients. It was quite packed when I got here and the place is small. It's a good thing that I was able to get a seat. I wanted to take more pictures but there were too many people. At the same time, the place is very nice here especially with the decorations they have here. I was scrolling through the menu and there was a menu item that has pork cutlet, but I have been having that type of cutlet numerous times already. So I decided to get the Salmon Shimeji instead. Next time, I'll get the other one. The food is good though. At the same time, it doesn't really surprise me since it's kinda like something you can make at home. However, the ingredients are fresh and the salmon is good. They used spaghetti pasta to make this dish and there are baby fish eggs and tall, small mushrooms called shimeji. I wasn't really too full at the end, but this is good news since I don't have to feel tired. One of the staff asked me if I can look at their desserts and I did. However, I didn't get any of them since I'm trying to cut back on my eating. This was quite the experience I have here. I saw one of the customers have one of the pizzas and am thinking of having that or the pork cutlet one. Probably should get one of the desserts next time. Until then.

After reading through some reviews, I decided to order the bone marrow fried rice, and this was easily the highlight. I'd definitely order it again next time. It came with a generously sized bone marrow bone with plenty of marrow inside. I immediately scooped it all out, broke it up, and mixed it into the fried rice, which made every bite incredibly rich, savory, and indulgent in the best way possible. Their take on bò né, on the other hand, could be a hit or miss depending on your expectations. Unfortunately, this one was a miss for me. I appreciate the creativity behind their fusion version, but I didn't feel like the changes necessarily elevated the original dish. The meat also wasn't as tender or juicy as I would've liked. It wasn't a terrible dish by any means, but despite how interesting and tasty it looks in photos, it's probably not something I'd recommend or order again. Overall, I'd definitely come back to explore more of the menu. They offer a lot of unique and creative dishes that you don't typically see elsewhere, and the bone marrow fried rice alone was good enough to make me want to return. Next time, I'd skip the bò né and use the stomach space to try a few more of their specialties!

Whether you come for brunch or dinner, Soho delivers every time. Highly recommend for a date, a celebration, or just treating yourself.

It honestly pains me to write this because we have been coming to SOHO Modern Japanese for years…read more This has been one of our regular local restaurants. We have celebrated birthdays and special occasions here, brought family and friends, had company lunches, come for brunch, and spent a significant amount of money here over the years. Three years ago, I left a review praising both the food and service. I gave several dishes 5/5, including the Loco Moco, and specifically called the service excellent. Unfortunately, the restaurant we have experienced over our last three visits is becoming unrecognizable from the one I reviewed three years ago. The decline has been gradual. Service started slipping first, but the food remained good enough that we continued coming back. Over the last three visits, however, the food has declined significantly as well. FOOD FROM OUR LAST THREE VISITS Mentaiko Benedict The fish tasted like it had been frozen and defrosted the same day. It was overcooked, dry, and nearly flavorless. There was none of the quality or execution I would expect from a restaurant at this price point. It was extremely disappointing. Loco Moco This one bothered me because I gave this exact dish a 5/5 in my previous review. What happened? The Loco Moco I remembered had a properly seasoned patty and enough flavor that I specifically praised it for not relying entirely on the gravy. On our recent visit, the gravy was bland and flavorless, and the patty tasted like frozen, mass-produced meatloaf. It was nothing like the dish I remembered. Pastrami Reuben Benedict, August 23 This was the dish from today's visit and probably the biggest "what happened here?" moment. The pastrami tasted like basic packaged deli meat, something I could have picked up at Costco, with an overcooked poached egg sitting on top. A Benedict lives or dies on the egg, and when the egg is overcooked on top of mediocre meat, there isn't much left to save the dish. It was genuinely bad. SERVICE, AUGUST 23 Unfortunately, today's food was only half the problem. We came in with a party of 18, and our server, Yadi, was consistently rude, impatient, and disrespectful in the way she communicated with our table. We understand that 18 people is a large party. We weren't expecting perfection, and this wasn't about someone simply being busy. It was the attitude. She repeatedly snapped at people while taking orders. When someone requested one minor adjustment, she visibly reacted with an annoyed "ugh" and stormed away from the table. Dirty plates were also allowed to pile up to the point where I seriously considered getting up and bussing our table myself. What made the experience worse was management's response. We brought our concerns to the manager on duty, a gentleman wearing glasses whose name I unfortunately didn't get. Instead of acknowledging what happened, apologizing, or even seeming concerned about our experience, his response was essentially to defend his employee. We were not asking for free food. We weren't asking for a discount. We weren't asking for anything to be removed from the bill. We simply expected management to care that longtime customers were telling them something had gone seriously wrong. There is a difference between supporting your employees and refusing to listen to your customers. A manager can stand behind their staff while still acknowledging poor service and trying to understand why a table is upset. Instead, we felt completely dismissed. That is particularly disappointing because we aren't first-time customers looking for something to complain about. We live locally and have supported this restaurant for years. We have brought family, friends, coworkers, and company guests here. We have celebrated important occasions here and continued returning even when we began noticing the decline. Restaurants have bad nights. Servers have bad days. Kitchens make mistakes. I would never write a review like this over one bad meal. But three disappointing visits in a row is no longer a bad night. It's a pattern. Three years ago, I wrote that the service here was 5/5 and described dishes like the Loco Moco as nearly perfect. I genuinely wish I could still say that.
