After a year in my bookmarks, finally got around to Amazing Basil in for their lemongrass chicken laksa noodle soup which does have a kick but not unbearably hot. The basil pork with rice and egg wasn't what we expected though so was a bit disappointed. Being under the BBQ special section, was expecting grilled pork slices vs. ground pork. But would be back for their different laksa and drinks like their mango mojito made with mango puree and pure sugar cane juice that was so good, I got a second one to go. You do order by a QR code so if you want to add more food or drinks, they have to reopen your tab for you.

Great ambiance and delicious food! Went there to celebrate a friend's birthday. Restaurant has beautiful floral decor which added to our celebration! Food was delicious but the service was a bit slow since they had only two servers on the floor. Most dishes were awesome but few were a miss. For a Thai place in Bay Area, their spice level is pretty much on a mild side. They have QR self ordering on the phone so it was quick but if you have questions then you had to wait until you could get the server's attention. Their drink menu is mostly boba teas & few sake based cocktails. Overall a great experience! Ambiance: 10/10 Service: 8/10 Food: 8/10 Music: 9/10 Seating: indoor Parking: Ample, free parking available Price: $35-$45 per person

I've dined in a handful of times over the last few years but have ordered Door Dash or takeout from here another handful of times. When I've gotten takeout I have almost always gotten the premium bbq combo with garlic noodles. The portions are hearty with flavorful meats that last me for 2 meals. This latest time my friends and I were able to dine in I got to sit on what I would call the "pretty" side where the wall was decorated beautifully. In the past I have only sat at the side closest to the door. We decided to order a few of their appetizers and small dishes to share instead of what we normally opt for. I really enjoyed the papaya salad, clams, and fried eggplant sticks. We got there pretty close to when the restaurant opened and were able to enjoy a very leisurely and comfortable lunch catching up. I know I will likely order the premium bbq combo again in the near future for work lunch and maybe try a few other dishes when I dine in next.

I want to start off by mentioning the location--it's in a great spot with plenty of things to check out nearby. I stopped by a bakery and a Japanese grocery store before coming, which made the visit even more enjoyable. We were seated right away and able to place our order quickly, which I appreciated. However, I was a bit bummed about the food. My soup had little to no flavor--I understand it may not be their specialty, but it could definitely use a bit more seasoning. I also ordered a Thai tea with 100% sugar, and it still tasted a bit bland. Overall, the place is really cute and has a nice vibe, and parking is easy since there's a large lot available. I would come back, but I'd probably try something different next time.

This place is my friends' post hike go-to place. There's usually no-wait for getting a table, even for big group of people. The service is super good - the servers are super attentive in refilling the water jugs, and the food is served super quickly after ordering. There is a wide variety of south east Asian entrees on the menu. I've tried the laksa and khao soi curry noodles and both were great. My friends also really like the rice plates and the soft crab bread bowl. The drinks are also reasonably priced and tasty as well.

The food here is seriously tasty. My sister and I started with the Singapore Chili Crab Crackers, and they were incredibly addictive--crispy, savory, and packed with flavor. For mains, I had the Salty Egg Yolk Fried Rice with tiger shrimp, which was rich, fragrant, and super satisfying. My sister ordered the seafood laksa noodles. While it was still good and flavorful, we've definitely had laksa elsewhere that was creamier and a bit more indulgent. We also tried the fresh sugarcane juice, which was light, naturally sweet, and really refreshing alongside the meal. Service was solid, and everything ran smoothly. There's no physical menu--you scan a QR code and order straight from your phone, which was easy and convenient. The space itself is huge, with tables nicely spaced out, so it doesn't feel crowded even when it's busy. Overall, a great spot for bold flavors, with a few standout dishes we'd happily come back for.

Vegan Thai tea. Oat milk!! Props for being thoughtful!

Restaurant week 2026! Sad I missed 2025 (I was out of state and although flew back during restaurant week on a weekend, THEY ONLY SERVE THIS SPECIAL DURING DINNER ON THE WEEKDAYS... good excuse to get out of the house ;)!) Went here for the first time in 2024 during restaurant week. Was super sad they took over 369 but they serve legit food! Malaysia, Viet, Thai... ***heard their laksa is bomb dot com but I'm allergic to coconuts...*** Their plate for restaurant week is pretty much the same every year (like in 2024 they gave sugarcane as the beverage) but it's awesome they don't cheap you on the ingredients used such as for the vegan Thai tea, they used oat milk! No poultry on the plate! Beef, shrimp, fish, vegan beef, etc... Why 4 stars? I just wished their papaya salad had more flavor because I'm obsessed with papaya salad (which typically has MASSIVE amounts of flavor esp in Thailand!). Moreover, I disliked their huge arse strips of eggplant (aren't they typically thin slices?). Plus love Thai basil beef but chunks of meat were huge and dry. But OVERALL, I can't complain. SERVICE: They are REALLY nice. I had someone try the Thai tea first who told me it was coconut milk so I told one of the servers I'm allergic to coconuts and could I just have the traditional Thai tea...they're like it's made out of oat milk. When the plate came out, the server still remembered this teeny tidbit (they were busy with multiple big tables) and emphasized what had coconut and for me to watch out...MAJOR PROPS! Pay upfront at the cashier or online via the QR code. (You also order via the QR code) VIBEZ: Definitely Hawaiian vibes. Lots of wedding esque decor. Clean. Located in the Osaka marketplace (who remembers this was the lion marketplace?!) and lots of parking. Would I come back? Yes!

Khao Soi w/ Deep fried chicken 清邁炸雞咖喱面

My group loved the food here! My friends and I came because we were feeling Thai for dinner and we saw that Amazing Basil has a good amount of vegan options for one of our guys that was on a short term vegan diet. I ordered the khao soi with fried chicken and the others ordered fried chicken with massaman curry and a vegan seafood laksa noodle. We also got the fried eggplant sticks to share. All the food was amazing! We enjoyed our dishes and it left us wanting more. My khao soi was good, but the fried chicken was THE HIGHLIGHT of the dish, almost to the point that it made the curry and noodles seem a bit bland, but alternating between the soup/noodles/fried chicken was so good. My friends also really enjoyed their meals, one commenting that they really enjoyed the sweet potato chunks in their curry and wished there was more of it, and the other commenting that their vegan seafood dish was surprisingly good (although it had a hard boiled egg in it). We were also SHOCKED by the eggplant because we had no clue it was as big as it was. It was like over a foot long. The ketchup drizzled on top... wasn't the most appetizing vibe and I wish it was just on the side (and I'd argue ranch would be even better)

Seafood Laksa with Thick Rice Noodles ($18.50)
    Melanie H.

Interesting concept as they offer a fusion of Southeast Asian dishes, mainly Thai, Vietnamese, and Singaporean/Malaysian. Very solid flavors, I'd definitely come back to try more items! RECS: + Seafood laksa ($18.50) was my favorite, I got it with thick rice noodles (think bun bo hue!). Lots of proteins and flavor from the laksa + Singaporean chili crab cracker ($15) reminded me of bun rieu in terms of the seemingly tomato based flavor, but it was good and different! PASS: + Roti curry (9.25) reminded me of Thai curry which was pretty good, just wasn't a fan of the roti

Amazing Basil has a beautifully modern, spacious, flowery interior and offers a menu of pan-South East Asian flavors. Ordering is done via QR code, and our food came out from the kitchen in a manner of minutes. We started with the (Vietnamese-style) Papaya Salad, made of shredded papaya, red cabbage, herbs, peanuts, and strips of grilled beef in a sweet, savory, acidic dressing--a simple but refreshingly crunchy combination! We continued with the Pork Chop Banh Mi, a Vietnamese sandwich of thin strips of grilled marinated pork along with shredded carrots/daikon and cilantro in an airy Vietnamese baguette, served with shrimp chips on the side. We also had the Premium BBQ Combo, a sizzling iron plate with four different meats: satay beef, honey pork shoulder, lemongrass chicken, and BBQ shrimp, topped with a fried egg and served with a side (I got the garlic noodles made with spaghetti). But my favorite dish of all was their signature Seafood Laksa, a coconut milk curry broth with a choice of noodles, tofu, a soft-boiled egg, shallots, herbs, and mixed seafood including shrimp, scallops, mussels, squid, and fish balls. The curry broth was light and not too salty, bringing all the ingredients together into a warm, flavorful dish. The menu also featured a variety of Asian drinks, and I tried the Red Bean Uji Matcha Latte, made of whole milk, uji matcha, and red beans. However, there was barely any matcha flavor in this drink at all, as it seemed rather diluted. Nevertheless, the flavors of the food here were definitely on point, and everything came at a good value too!

Papaya salad 3.5/5 asked for no peanuts
    Jenny D.

The food is OK. Vietnamese and Thai fusion. Slightly gives me the impression of the saying, Jack of all trades, but master of none. Flavor was really lacking in this meal except for the fish sauce wings. The interior is ornate with fake flowers everywhere. In a sense it's very pretty and I appreciate the effort, but I also don't love fake flowers and mediocre food. Instagram worthy rarely equates to quality food. Pad Thai: 3/5 not very special. A little lacking in flavor fell flat for me. Fried tofu with garlic noodles: 3/5 the noodles were bland Fish sauce wings: 5/5 starved the mule delicious crispy great flavors Shrimp papaya salad: 3/5 a little bland compared to other Thai restaurants. Usually this appetizer explodes with flavors, but this one was a little watered down. Roti with curry sauce: 5/5 people loved this one, curry sauce was delicious Overall, four out of five stars because service was easy and quick just ordered through a QR code. A few of the plates we ordered were really good while the rest were un-impressive.

Stopped here for lunch as we waited for Pineapple King Bakery to open at noon. It's literally across from the building and we can see if a line forms. They have an extensive food and drink menu. Seems like "Fusion" meant all types of Asian dishes. We found Vietnamese, Thai, Chinese food. They had smoothies and milk tea drink but not boba. We ordered drinks, garlic noodles, five-spice pork chop, crab fried rice, roti, combo bbq rice plate to share. The food took awhile to come out but all were good. Combo bbq sizzling plate was the best and I wouldn't order the garlic noodles again. The drinks were refreshing The ambiance was beautiful and IG-worthy with flowers everywhere and stuffed teddy bears playfully situated. The space is quite spacious with plenty of room between tables. Can easily accommodate large groups

Khao Soi (with deep fried chicken)
    Brian H.

Amazing Basil in Fremont offers generous portions and solid value, however it didn't live up to my expectations for great Thai food. ---What I Had: --- - Laksa Roti - Thai Boat Noodle Soup - Khao Soi (with deep-fried chicken) ---Food Impressions: --- The first thing that stood out was the portion size!! big, hearty bowls and shareable sides that make it feel like a good deal for the price. But when it came to flavor, both soups fell flat. The Thai Boat Noodle Soup and the Khao Soi lacked the rich depth and umami that really make those dishes shine. I'm not talking about spice-level; it's more so the lack of layered, punchy flavor that should be the backbone of each broth. Both were lacking that punch of flavor, as if they were leaning on salt and toppings to compensate for what the broth was missing. The deep-fried chicken in the Khao Soi was juicy and generously portioned, but like the soup itself, it was lacking in flavor; the skin was definitely fried to perfection and the chicken was juicy however it was also missing marinade. The Laksa Roti was also underwhelming. The roti itself wasn't flaky or crisp; it was like something you'd grab from a frozen pack at 99 Ranch. The sauce was fine, but not memorable overall. It didn't have the complexity or creaminess you'd expect from a proper laksa pairing. ---Ambiance/Seating/Parking/Service: --- The restaurant was busy during a Saturday night dinner especially considering the tables are about less than 5 feet apart. The atmosphere was relatively loud and a casual dining vibe. That said, service was smooth and polite. Even on a Saturday night, the staff was attentive and responsive to our needs. Parking was ok, this lot tends to be very busy but you can just park a bit further from the restaurants. ---Star Rating: --- 2 stars. There really is room for improvement in the flavors. TLDR: Amazing Basil serves up generous portions and friendly service, but the flavor just didn't deliver. Both soups lacked the richness and umami you'd expect, and even the well-cooked chicken felt under-seasoned. There's potential here, but I wouldn't go out of my way to return unless the recipes get a flavor boost. ---How I Rate on Yelp:--- (5 stars): Exceptional!! -- outstanding: worth going out of your way! (4 stars): Great! -- very good experience overall: minor flaws but nothing major! (3 stars): Good -- solid: may have noticeable flaws or missed expectations. (2 stars): OK/bad -- food was disappointing and generally not memorable. (1 star): Terrible -- very bad experience, would not return or recommend.

The tacos were good, but I felt there was a little something missing from this evening's order. The naan were alright too (they came with a side of chutney). I'd be open to trying more of their offerings though- I heard the samosas were good, and I'm always down for a good spicy pork burrito. Random thought- what if you made a naan/spicy pork combo. Turned out to be sour cream. I also asked for no cucumbers which meant it was pork, brown rice, and kimchi. The pork had a kick to it, but wasn't the bulgogi type of meat. I think it would've been better with white rice rather than brown rice though. The kimchi was a nice addition, but again, it was just okay. The samosas were the best part of the meal.

You'll order at the front kiosk and wait for your order to be made. Everything is made to order and it took about 10 minutes on a Saturday during lunch hour. We tried their combo Isaac toast, beef kimbap, and kimchi tuna triangle kimbap (think onigiri). If you've never had Isaac toast, it's a popular Korean street food sandwich that is both savory and sweet. The Isaac toast here is a hefty portion and packed with full of flavor. There is a jam spread on the bread that gives it some sweetness and the cabbage slaw is dressed in what tastes like a thousand island dressing. Then you have the egg with carrot patty as well as a slice of cheese and ham. It's the most excellent breakfast sandwich. The bread is fluffy and griddled with butter - what more could you ask for? The beef bulgogi kimbap was also yummy. They don't put too much rice and they certainly don't skimp on the filling. The bulgogi was seasoned well - salty and sweet enough. The other ingredients were fresh and paired well together. Of the kimbaps I've had in my lifetime, this was definitely one of the better ones. The kimchi tuna triangle kimbap was packaged well so that the seaweed does not touch the rice until you're ready to eat, just like how they package it in Japan. Good amount of filling, well seasoned rice, and crisp seaweed. The prices are very fair here given the portion size. I would definitely return when in the mood for some kimbap and Isaac toast! Service was friendly - the ladies greeted us kindly and kept us updated on our order.

Would love to try other dishes. - Creamy Spaghetti w/ Spicy Beef Bone (Very Spicy) : They are not kidding when they say it is very spicy. It was good, but I def had to take breaks from the spice. The cream/cheese helped a little. Would be good if they can adjust the spice level. - Assorted Mushrooms Fried Rice w/ Salted Scallions Steak : Delicious. Would recommend. - I tried another dish but I don't remember the name and I don't see it on the menu currently, but it was refreshing when I wanted a break from the other dishes. I ordered to go and everything was packed nicely and pickup was smooth.

We ordered the cheese mochi pizza, salmon shimeji mushroom spaghetti, and risotto. The mochi cheese pizza was the clear highlight. You can taste the mochi texture throughout. We were debating whether mochi was blended into the dough or the cheese. Definitely worth trying if you're a mochi lover. The Salmon Shimeji Mushroom Spaghetti is listed as one of the more popular pasta dishes, and it earned that reputation. The cream and seafood flavors blended nicely. The risotto, however, was a bit of a letdown as it was way too salty for our taste. Since I mentioned we were celebrating a birthday, our waitress brought a sweet touch: two scoops of ice cream with a candle. We also ordered the matcha tiramisu, which was pleasant but not particularly memorable -- not overly sweet, but nothing that lingered either. Overall, La Casa Mia is a solid spot for Japanese-Italian fusion. I'd come back to explore more of the menu.

Final Thoughts: 4.50/5…read more It's not often that I'm in the Fremont area, but I was today, so I decided to take advantage of that and go out for a dinner with my friend after work. After some filtering and choosing, we decided on Korean food. Truly always my go-to choice. The food here really did not disappoint and hit the spot after a long day. Overall, will be a 5 star from me. Food: Spicy Braised Beef Short Rib + Cheese and Rice Cakes: 4.5/5 This was their beef short rib with onion and potato. We always get it with the rice cake and cheese on top because those are truly a must for this dish. The braised beef short ribs are super tender and you could cut though it with a spoon. Their meats are nicely marinated into the sauce and super tender. The sauce is really the star of this dish and they seasoned it really well. There's some kick to it, sweet, salty, and umami. I would eat this sauce alone with rice or noodles if I had the choice. The rice cakes are a little too soft for me and I would have preferred for it to have more of a bite. Again, not really complaining because the sauce made up for it. For the cheese, it's mostly just piled on top of the dish. They're not like other places where they torch the cheese to melt it for us. We just mixed it into the sauce and it melted all the way through for that cheese pull. There's no smokiness, but not a big concern for me. It melted well into the sauce and made it taste amazing though. Fried Chicken (8 Pieces) - Soy Garlic + Hot and Sweet Sauce: 4.3/5 This was more of our side dish/appetizer dish. The sauce is a little too salty for my taste, but honestly, I wasn't really complaining. Something I do like is the consistency of it. It's like this sticky sauce that coats the crispy coating of the chicken well. This dipped into the spicy braised short rib sauce was such an amazing combination too. My preference was the soy garlic. The flavor is just so classic. Hot and sweet is good too. There is a good kick to it and a nice balance of flavors overall. When the chicken came out, it was piping hot. Very juicy and I could feel that when I tried to take a bite out of it. Crispy on the outside and nicely cooked all the way through. Banchan: Good variety They provide kelp noodle salad, kimchi, edamame, mashed tofu, Korean yellow pickled radish, and fish cakes. I actually liked all of these expect for the kimchi. I have a specific preference for kimchi, so definitely just a preference in taste kind of a thing. Lovely textures for all of them. The tofu confused us initially, but it's very good protein for me and I'm not complaining about my foods being mechanically altered. --------- Quality: Made to order Their meats seem to be of optimal quality. That or the cut is just really good and they've been braising it for hours now. Super tender and will just come off the bones. The meats are cut into pretty large pieces, so I would cut it into about four pieces. This was doable with a spoon, which says a lot. Of note, we could hear the fryer sound in the back. Crossing fingers that was to freshy fry our chicken. Items also came out piping hot, which is just how I like it. The short ribs was inside of a stone pot and it was just boiling and bubbling away. Always a plus to see. Price: Typical Bay Area Prices The price ranges will depend on what you get. For the two items that we got today, it was around $60. Seems fair for the portion sizes provided. We also had leftovers to bring home. Again, the prices will range from about $15 to $25. Typical Bay Area prices. Service: Fairly Fast My friend and I were actually the only two people there. Honestly, I'm not complaining for us. I'm actually not sure why they're not more popular because their food was made really well for us. Side note, but if I had it my way, I would probably inhale the remainder that we took home with us. Their food was made to order because we did hear the food being cooked. They did come out with the food fairly quickly. Service was alright and they were quite nice about everything. Ambiance: Late Night Eats Vibes This place really gives me the late night eat vibes. They do sell the items that I see in the Korean dramas where they would go out for a drink and some food. They do have nice options for dinner though. Of note, they do stay open quite late, which I am totally here for. Interior is spacious and their music choice is straight from my playlist, which I really like. Location/Parking: Long Plaza This place is a little farther for me, but I still like exploring around as some food places are worth driving a little farther for. This place is on Cedar Blvd and its quite a long plaza. There's like multiple connections in this plaza along with their entrances. They do have some other shops and restaurants here too. Parking didn't seem to be an issue for me at all. They seem to have enough spaces around for this scale of an area.
