I've been here before and had the vermicelli bowl. It was solid, but didn't quite hit 5-star territory for me. However, the pork chop rice plate I just had is an absolute 5/5. It is genuinely finger-licking good with a perfectly balanced sweet and savory flavor. Usually, a single plate is more than enough for me, but I was seriously tempted to order a second one to take home, especially since I don't live in the area. My belly told me to resist, lol, but I'll definitely be making the trip back for this exact dish.

Food: Super good! Always come to this plaza for Philz and never noticed this pho place. Definitely a hidden gem in Fremont. The summer rolls are amazingly tasty! Their house sauce brings out the flavors and veggies of the roll very well and we feel like we can just eat the sauce! IT IS THAT GOOD! both pho and vermicelli are fresh, but definitely wish more veggies are in the vermicelli bowl. Service: Super efficient. The orders came after a few minutes you order as well. Enjoy freshly made food with warm service is the best thing you can have here! Ambiance: clean, bright and nice. On the quiet side to enjoy a nice meal with friend and family.
The food here is great!!! The noodles are delicious!! The lemongrass chicken with garlic noodles had a burst of flavor! It was seasoned sooo well! The garlic noodles had a wonderful kick to it that balanced so nicely with the side of slightly sour carrots/daikon! I've also tried their crab noodle soup which is very ocean-vibe giving. It's hot and soothing to the chest. They are generous with their toppings too!! I probs wouldn't get the egg rolls again unless I'm desperately craving something crunchy with sweet chili sauce. Felt like I needed the sweet chili sauce to bring out the flavor
One of my wife's top choices for Vietnamese in the area. We are not Vietnamese but both of us have old friends who all coincidentally are Vietnamese so we've eaten a lot of Vietnamese food growing up. It is in the Raley's parking lot and though the parking lot is huge parking here can be stressful especially at peak times and on the weekend. A1. Spring Rolls: Grilled pork & shrimp wrapped in rice paper with lettuce, cucumbers, chives, daikon & mint served with peanut sauce. These are probably the best Spring Rolls I've had in this area, the special sauce is definitely the grilled pork which is flavorful and tender and really elevates this simple appetizer. Short Rib Pho: Comes with a giant caveman rib sticking out. This was trendy a couple years ago but here is the meat is well cooked and seasoned and not just a gimmick. Broth is also above average and delicious. Shrimp and Pork Vermicelli: My wife eats this when she feels like something "clean" and it's great here. The signature special sauce is the special way they grill the pork here. Fried Rice: This was the oddest one, this one is their own unique creation. It seems to use tomato rice and something fishy in the base. Meat was cut overly large for us but it was tender but too few egg was used and for leftovers I'm going to add more eggs.

Love the ambience here and the Thai iced tea, Filet mignon and brisket tendon was good and piping hot and the eggroll and short ribs vermicelli were delish as the meat was tender! Service was attentive and we enjoyed the cozy atmosphere
This location is still going strong. I stopped getting their Bánh mì sandwiches and started getting their grilled pork vermicelli bowls instead. The pork is seasoned and grilled to perfection. The bowl is a good size and filled with all the toppings that come with your typical vermicelli bowls. I personally ask for cilantro and lemon on the side because it just adds that extra flavor profile I like. I also top it off with hoisin sauce and siracha. It's my go to when I come dine in. They have good customer service and the food comes out fairly quickly too. (See pics for reference).
I'd absolutely come here again. I wish the pho came with the meat on the side to throw in. Good atmosphere with tvs going. Good for an everyday type place. Very quick service and someone watching to see if people need anything.

That said, the pho combo was actually pretty good and comforting. We also tried the spring rolls, but the noodles inside were slightly hard, which was a bit disappointing. There aren't a ton of Vietnamese spots in Fremont, and this place is okay overall. Service is pretty fast and it's in a good plaza.
I tried beef pho with tendon at Pho Mama and it was great! Substantial portion too, I took half home to eat the next day. The broth was excellent! Definitely in my top 3 for pho in the East Bay. Service was friendly and prompt, and the inside of the restaurant is cute and clean.
I got an order of spring rolls and summer rolls. I've never had a summer roll before but it was very enjoyable though I can't compare it. The spring rolls were also pretty good. The wrappers were fresh and the filling ratios were pretty good with a decent amount of protein. My primary complaint was the herb flavor was lacking. My preference is for the roll to have lots of fresh herbs and this didn't quite deliver there. The peanut sauce was pretty good and there was a good amount of it. Again, I like it with a little more peanut flavor but overall, I'd come back here as everything was fresh and I live quite close so it's super convenient. Definitely want to try some other items in the future. Note that the place looked busy and the interior had a cool vibe so I plan to eat in next time!

I think we've reached a point where maybe we need to stop with the garlic noodles, but I get it's still a fan fav. The flavor was very garlicky. Sauce was definitely on the more viscous side. Overall just fine. Marrow Toast - was excited for these but didn't really hit the spot, in my opinion. I would skip these. Fried Rice - GET THIS. The fried rice was so good. Really tasted that wok hei. Fantastic, deep flavor. I know - fried rice at a pho place - but do yourself a favor if you like fried rice and get this. Chili Oil Wonton - these I liked a lot. Had more of the chili flake flavor profile, which is nice. Huge wontons. Overall, some really good dishes, some ok. Definitely the pho and the fried rice.

Extra point for their cleaniness - at least the utensils are not placed on the table for the communal use. Good beverage options including fresh squeeze cane juice. I really enjoyed their rice plate. Not a lot of places still serve broken rice. The broth was flavorful, just a tad salty for my liking. Service was great too. read more

Best banh mi in Fremont! Although known for pho, this restaurant has the tastiest banh mi in the area. The toasted baguette cradles the pate mayo spread, crisp pickled daikon and carrot, and marinated grilled chicken for a perfect bite. So impressed I went back twice in one week for the banh mi and the refreshing and light chicken salad. read more
I had a Craving for Vietnamese food !!! So I decided to Roll to Pho Mama!!! I parked right in Front of Pho Mama and Rolled in. I was Greeted and Seated and Brought Water and Utensils!! Then I was Presented with a Menu!!! I Perused the Menu and Ordered Spring Rolls and a Combination Pho Bowl of Soup!!!! I was brought my Order of Spring Rolls and Fish Sauce. They were very Small but Tasty I enjoyed them!!! Then my Combination Pho Beef Bowl arrived!!! It was actually a Great Bowl of Beef Pho Soup!!! The Broth was Delicious !!!! Super happy to finally find a pho spot in Fremont that I'll be coming back to! Came on a Wednesday evening around 6:30pm with a few girlfriends -- it's been getting chilly, so a hot bowl of pho really hit the spot. Pho Mama is tucked in a large, busy plaza with lots of food options, so parking might take a few minutes but it's manageable. The restaurant itself is clean, relaxed, and not too crowded on a weeknight. I ordered the Combination Beef Noodle Soup (marked as "most recommended" on their menu). As a Vietnamese, I can be pretty picky about pho, but this one honestly surprised me -- the broth was flavorful yet clean, the noodles had a nice chew, and the meats were all good quality. 5/5! Service was friendly, attentive, and quick -- our food came out in about 10 minutes. Overall, great spot for pho in Fremont. Highly recommend and will definitely be back! read more
I was really hoping to find a better pho spot than the one near my house (another Pho Mama). I used to love that location, but the food and service went downhill. My husband offered to pick up from this location for me on a lazy Friday afternoon. I thought I'd go with pho but ended up ordering the #62--lemongrass chicken rice plate with shrimp and eggrolls. It was delicious, just like how the Union City location used to be. The only downside was how long it took. I called the order in before my husband left the house, and even after making a stop at my son's school, he still waited over 20 minutes once he got there. I was quoted 20 minutes, but the total wait time was closer to 40. By the time he got home, his fries from Angry Chickz were already cold. I'd definitely go back because the flavor was great, but I really hope they improve on giving more accurate wait times. read more
Hmmm... honestly, it was just okay! I was really craving pho and bun rieu, so we ordered both to try. The broths were really lacking for me personally though, so it was throwing me off. Mostly just salty and didn't have a strong depth. The generous portions were appreciated and the veggies/ingredients were clearly really fresh. The staff here were really nice and service was quick, so it's a shame that I didn't enjoy this as much as I wanted to. I think I will stick to pho in the South Bay :( This location is in a busy plaza, so the restaurant filled in quickly on a Wednesday evening. Be aware that the parking lot is competitive! read more
Pho Mama is a very clean and colorful restaurant chain to have traditional Vietnamese foods. We tried the Fremont one and we were not disappointed. The Filet Mignon noodle soup came with flavorful soup. And its veg add-on included cilantro besides the typical bean sprouts and Thai basil. The grilled pork w/ egg rolls vermicelli was also well presented. Our favorite was actually the sugarcane juice. Again you can only find that in few authentic Vietnamese restaurants. The kitchen was efficient and service was prompt too. Overall, it was a good dining experience. If I may help the restaurant to improve, I would suggest to lower the grease content in both the pho soup and the grilled pork. After all, the fat is good to savory but bad for my cholesterol. read more
Nice servers and convenient location! We had a large party (10) and were able to be seated right away with no reservation, which was great. Their pho was solid, and I really liked how it comes with cilantro (in addition to the normal accoutrements). The vermicelli bowl was also good-- the meat was well-seasoned and tender, but the rest of the bowl felt just a bit bland. The egg rolls were nice and crispy, though! read more

We were in need of lunch and we though maybe we should get a bún (at Pho Mama it's called a vermicelli salad). So we looked around and we saw Pho Mama was nearby and we hadn't tried this place yet so we went. In short, a lovely spot to get some good Vietnamese food but parking can be atrocious. L O C A T I O N Pho Mama is in the plaza on Paseo Padre between Walnut and Mowry. There are a lot of restaurants and other stores so parking here can be quite difficult during peak eating times. So make sure you adjust travel times if you need to be here at a specific time Luckily we found a parking spot. This was actually a boba shop before it was Pho Mama as I recognized the layout inside when we went in. M E N U I didn't really peruse the menu. My hubby did as he is the expert in búns and he has a specific one he likes which is the lemon grass pork with an egg roll and shrimp. So we went for that item which is the House Special bowl #31 which is fairly priced considering the amount of food. I unfortunately didn't get a chance to take a photo before my hubby dismantled our to-go item into a bowl with all the elements separated so sorry! But you get a big container of fish sauce, plenty of lemon grass pork, 5 grilled shrimp, 3 egg roll pieces, crushed peanuts, some veggies and a bunch of bean sprouts you can add to the vermicelli. Overall, the flavors were great. Shrimp was fine, a bit over grilled, the lemon grass quite flavorful, egg roll fine and vermicelli also great. Plenty of food to feed two people. S E R V I C E We called in our order for to-go. They said it would take about 15 minutes. I'm sure it was faster because when we arrived and paid, the order was ready. O V E R A L L Not too bad! Just unfortunate location as it's hard to park, but it wouldn't deter us in the future. Would love to try out their pho or spring rolls. Definitely try them out! read more

The service here was great. Lovely, quick, and attentive service. Restaurant is on the smaller side but very cozy. I ordered some pho and spring rolls on my first time here. My friend also did the same. The food here was okay and a little pricey compared to other pho places. I never mind paying more for quality soup but the food here was just okay. read more

I just discovered this place, so my review is based on one dish so far.. The vermicelli with grilled chicken and egg rolls! I like that they serve the dish with 3 small individual egg rolls. Other places usually cut a big egg roll in half and it becomes soggy easily. The restaurant was bright, clean and with modern touches. I will definitely be coming back to try other dishes. read more
I went here maybe once or twice. I ordered pho and my bf ordered grilled chicken rice plate. I thought they were priced higher than the other Vietnamese places we frequent for the amount of food you get. The pho was okay, not too bad but not the best I've had in Fremont. Placed an order for delivery. Tried the vermicelli for the first time and it was pretty good. It was different than we've had before but wasn't bad. I think we were wanting it like how another pho spot makes it. We had the chicken and beef. The beef didn't really look or taste like beef though. It just tasted like meat. Both meats were tender and pretty flavorful but overall the meal didn't have much flavor. The egg rolls were pretty good but were cold by the time they arrived. I don't know if we would get vermicelli from here again. read more

Stopped by this restaurant for the first time since I was nearby & needed a quick lunch meal & I'm so glad I did. I ordered their Bun Bo Hue, which has really good flavor. I'm a spicy palette girly so I added a lot of chili oil to it but the BBH broth & flavor was definitely there. Protein was super tender, which I appreciated. I can't stand it when I can taste the porkness from the pork slices if that makes any sense to anyone, so I'm glad I didn't in this dish. The beef slices were also cooked perfectly soft to chew on. I'm definitely coming back to try their pho next time. read more
Pho Mama was unimpressive. I ordered the bun bo hue and my husband got the pho dac biet and both were extremely bland. I had to ask for fish sauce (which they don't provide on the table) as well as literally dumped almost the entire container of chili oil into my broth. Service was fine, but they should definitely work on improving their soup bases as I wouldn't come back to get my pho/bbh fix. read more

This is our favorite spot to go to and we love it. My husband loves #63 and mine is the Bun Bo Hue as always - hoping that they start adding pork feet in the soup. But all in all- we love this Fremont spot ! read more
The highlight was definitely Trung's service--his welcome was epic, making me feel right at home from the very start. The PHO short rib soup was amazing, full of deep, comforting flavor, and the eggrolls were simply delicious. Everything perfectly matched the atmosphere and vibe of the place. I'll definitely be coming back. This spot has earned a place on my favorites list. read more
