    A3. Egg Rolls
    Janan D.

The food here is great!!! The noodles are delicious!! The lemongrass chicken with garlic noodles had a burst of flavor! It was seasoned sooo well! The garlic noodles had a wonderful kick to it that balanced so nicely with the side of slightly sour carrots/daikon! I've also tried their crab noodle soup which is very ocean-vibe giving. It's hot and soothing to the chest. They are generous with their toppings too!! I probs wouldn't get the egg rolls again unless I'm desperately craving something crunchy with sweet chili sauce. Felt like I needed the sweet chili sauce to bring out the flavor

I'd absolutely come here again. I wish the pho came with the meat on the side to throw in. Good atmosphere with tvs going. Good for an everyday type place. Very quick service and someone watching to see if people need anything.

One of my wife's top choices for Vietnamese in the area. We are not Vietnamese but both of us have old friends who all coincidentally are Vietnamese so we've eaten a lot of Vietnamese food growing up. It is in the Raley's parking lot and though the parking lot is huge parking here can be stressful especially at peak times and on the weekend. A1. Spring Rolls: Grilled pork & shrimp wrapped in rice paper with lettuce, cucumbers, chives, daikon & mint served with peanut sauce. These are probably the best Spring Rolls I've had in this area, the special sauce is definitely the grilled pork which is flavorful and tender and really elevates this simple appetizer. Short Rib Pho: Comes with a giant caveman rib sticking out. This was trendy a couple years ago but here is the meat is well cooked and seasoned and not just a gimmick. Broth is also above average and delicious. Shrimp and Pork Vermicelli: My wife eats this when she feels like something "clean" and it's great here. The signature special sauce is the special way they grill the pork here. Fried Rice: This was the oddest one, this one is their own unique creation. It seems to use tomato rice and something fishy in the base. Meat was cut overly large for us but it was tender but too few egg was used and for leftovers I'm going to add more eggs.

This location is still going strong. I stopped getting their Bánh mì sandwiches and started getting their grilled pork vermicelli bowls instead. The pork is seasoned and grilled to perfection. The bowl is a good size and filled with all the toppings that come with your typical vermicelli bowls. I personally ask for cilantro and lemon on the side because it just adds that extra flavor profile I like. I also top it off with hoisin sauce and siracha. It's my go to when I come dine in. They have good customer service and the food comes out fairly quickly too. (See pics for reference).

It feels a bit more Americanized, everything on the menu is in English, which made me a little unsure about how authentic it would be. That said, the pho combo was actually pretty good and comforting. We also tried the spring rolls, but the noodles inside were slightly hard, which was a bit disappointing. There aren't a ton of Vietnamese spots in Fremont, and this place is okay overall. Service is pretty fast and it's in a good plaza.

Pho Mama is a very clean and colorful restaurant chain to have traditional Vietnamese foods. We tried the Fremont one and we were not disappointed. The Filet Mignon noodle soup came with flavorful soup. And its veg add-on included cilantro besides the typical bean sprouts and Thai basil. The grilled pork w/ egg rolls vermicelli was also well presented. Our favorite was actually the sugarcane juice. Again you can only find that in few authentic Vietnamese restaurants. The kitchen was efficient and service was prompt too. Overall, it was a good dining experience. If I may help the restaurant to improve, I would suggest to lower the grease content in both the pho soup and the grilled pork. After all, the fat is good to savory but bad for my cholesterol.

I tried beef pho with tendon at Pho Mama and it was great! Substantial portion too, I took half home to eat the next day. The broth was excellent! Definitely in my top 3 for pho in the East Bay. Service was friendly and prompt, and the inside of the restaurant is cute and clean.

I got an order of spring rolls and summer rolls. I've never had a summer roll before but it was very enjoyable though I can't compare it. The spring rolls were also pretty good. The wrappers were fresh and the filling ratios were pretty good with a decent amount of protein. My primary complaint was the herb flavor was lacking. My preference is for the roll to have lots of fresh herbs and this didn't quite deliver there. The peanut sauce was pretty good and there was a good amount of it. Again, I like it with a little more peanut flavor but overall, I'd come back here as everything was fresh and I live quite close so it's super convenient. Definitely want to try some other items in the future. Note that the place looked busy and the interior had a cool vibe so I plan to eat in next time!

This is our favorite spot to go to and we love it. My husband loves #63 and mine is the Bun Bo Hue as always - hoping that they start adding pork feet in the soup. But all in all- we love this Fremont spot !

Heard the hype about Pho Mama being on the guide. Came on a weekend about 30 minutes before opening and got first seating. Small restaurant. You could tell it was popular because of the huge line of people waiting outside. Pho Tai - really delicious. Meat was good quality and the broth was very flavorful. Really nice size of noodles and you could taste the richness of the soup. Garlic Noodles - these were ok. I think we've reached a point where maybe we need to stop with the garlic noodles, but I get it's still a fan fav. The flavor was very garlicky. Sauce was definitely on the more viscous side. Overall just fine. Marrow Toast - was excited for these but didn't really hit the spot, in my opinion. I would skip these. Fried Rice - GET THIS. The fried rice was so good. Really tasted that wok hei. Fantastic, deep flavor. I know - fried rice at a pho place - but do yourself a favor if you like fried rice and get this. Chili Oil Wonton - these I liked a lot. Had more of the chili flake flavor profile, which is nice. Huge wontons. Overall, some really good dishes, some ok. Definitely the pho and the fried rice.

Best banh mi in Fremont! Although known for pho, this restaurant has the tastiest banh mi in the area. The toasted baguette cradles the pate mayo spread, crisp pickled daikon and carrot, and marinated grilled chicken for a perfect bite. So impressed I went back twice in one week for the banh mi and the refreshing and light chicken salad.

    Combination Beef Noodle Soup

Super happy to finally find a pho spot in Fremont that I'll be coming back to! Came on a Wednesday evening around 6:30pm with a few girlfriends -- it's been getting chilly, so a hot bowl of pho really hit the spot. Pho Mama is tucked in a large, busy plaza with lots of food options, so parking might take a few minutes but it's manageable. The restaurant itself is clean, relaxed, and not too crowded on a weeknight. I ordered the Combination Beef Noodle Soup (marked as "most recommended" on their menu). As a Vietnamese, I can be pretty picky about pho, but this one honestly surprised me -- the broth was flavorful yet clean, the noodles had a nice chew, and the meats were all good quality. 5/5! Service was friendly, attentive, and quick -- our food came out in about 10 minutes. Overall, great spot for pho in Fremont. Highly recommend and will definitely be back!

I met up with my non-vegan best friend, and we both loved our meals. We shared two vegan appetizers and each got our own entree. Here's what we ordered: Mango Mojito, Vegan Thai Tea, Roti Curry, Vegan Crispy Eggplant Strips, Vegan Shrimp Laksa Noodle Soup, and Premium BBQ Combo. The presentation of our dishes was on point, and the portions were generous. Everything I tried was super flavorful and delicious. The curry sauce for the roti was incredible, and the breading on the crispy eggplant was really flavorful and tasty, though I was a bit surprised by the ketchup on top. Next time, I'd ask for the ketchup on the side. The laksa noodle soup broth had an amazing depth of flavor. I didn't try the mango mojito or BBQ combo, but my friend said she absolutely loved them! As someone who has been drinking Vietnamese coffee since I was 12 (Im much older now), I am very picky with my Vietnamese coffee. This place knocked it out of the park with their coffee as well as offering flavors that I never tried other than the original. The phin set I ordered is for dine in only and understandably so. The pandan cream topping was definitely new for me and I would give it the compliment of saying that it wasnt too sweet. Not pictured was the pandan waffle and the two pate chaud I ordered, which I ate before taking the picture, I am sorry. It might be on the pricey side but hoenstly these days, what isnt? Im not complaining, I would come back next time I am around the area. Lastly, I wanted to shout out the workers there on that day. My recommendation is to order your drinks less sweet. It's the perfect level of sweetness. The only tweak I'd make is adding an extra shot of espresso to the coconut coffee. The food, unfortunately, didn't live up to the drinks. I tried a few of the bánh mì sandwiches, and the bread-to-filling ratio was way off. There just wasn't enough filling, and even after ordering extra veggies, it didn't seem like there were actually any extra added. If you're specifically craving a Vietnamese sandwich, I'd recommend driving about a mile up the road to Huong Sandwiches instead. That said, I still want to come back and try more of their food menu because the drinks alone keep bringing me back. The café itself is adorable. I love the modern design and all the greenery throughout the space. It's clean, quiet enough to study or work, and has about 7 small tables, making it ideal for solo visits or small groups of up to four people. I also appreciated the powerful hand dryer in the restroom (it's the little things!) and plenty of parking. Come for the drinks, stay for the atmosphere.

TWO PHOS AND TWO RICE PLATES…read more The first time I came here was about a couple of months ago for Sunday dinner with my family. I'm not a fan of pho so I decided to order a rice plate, which was Combo Plate #2 that included one grilled pork and two fried chicken wings. The rice plate I ordered was ok. Even though the chicken wings were cooked inside the meat tasted bland. I wasn't planning to come back here anytime soon. On the menu however I saw a pho item that consisted of chicken quarters. The next time I came here was a couple of days later for lunch. I ordered the pho with chicken quarters. With the addition of the ginger scallion sauce the dish is basically Hainan chicken pho. I've had this type of pho at another eatery and is the best chicken soup I've ever had. Since the chicken isn't shredded, the meat isn't dry. Usually for Hainan chicken I would dip the chicken in the ginger scallion sauce. I did something different for the first time. I added the scallion ginger sauce in the broth. This brought more flavor to the broth. I'd rather have scallion ginger sauce in the broth than sriracha. I'm not a fan of pho. Having the chicken quarters pho provided me a different perspective on pho. When I started having pho I would order get rare steak and beef tendon. What I noticed is that the rare steak changes the texture of the broth, which becomes murky. Maybe that's why I never craved for pho. I find well done beef atrocious. After having the chicken quarters pho I thought why not try the well done brisket. About week later I ordered the well done brisket pho for lunch. From the outset I noticed the broth from the well-done pho is clearer than any beef pho before. How did the broth taste? The broth was the best tasting pho with beef ingredients. I think that has to do with not having raw slices of beef. The blood from the raw beef makes the broth murky. Since the brisket was well-done there was no blood that made the broth cloudy. Also the flavor of the broth enhanced due to the fat from the brisket. The well-done brisket give me a different perspective on pho. Maybe in the future I just order well-done brisket for pho. My last visit I had another rice plate. As I already ordered the chicken leg quarters pho I wanted to try the rice plate version. This dish is Pho Nation's version of Hainan chicken. Even though the scallion ginger was served this dish is different from Hainan chicken as chicken at Pho Nation is steamed and served hot. I ate two phos and two rice dishes. Normally at pho eateries I tend to like the rice dishes more, but at Pho Nation I enjoyed the phos more. If I want to eat pho with a clear yet tasty broth I would come to Pho Nation for either the chicken quarters or well-done brisket pho.
