The first time we had DD's was so good. The soy garlic chicken was juicy, and I tried the Dino rib banh mi which was super tender and really fell off the bone. Really tasty stuff This time around I brought my parents to try it. My dad ordered the Dino rib ramen. To my surprise, the meat came just sitting on top of the bone as if the bone was reused. I get that maybe the Dino bone might be getting expensive to supply but the authenticity of the dish just fell right out the window for me. We finally stopped by after hearing so much about this place, and I can definitely see why it's popular. The menu has a ton of options, so there really is something for everyone. Even the drinks tasted great, although I wish they used a little less ice since they were gone after just a few sips. The only downside was the wait. Once we were seated, our drinks took a really long time to come out, and that was probably the most frustrating part of the experience. The Dino rib is nice cause it's already cut and presented on the bone so you don't have to worry about nawing into a rib bone . Bone marrow was very succulent. I'm so happy I came across this place. I've passed by it so many times and I finally gave in and don't regret it at all. I got a egg coffee and it was ok to me however my bf really liked it. I had to physically get up and catch someone from the counter, as they avoided my table since they thought they were done serving us. My table got 3 items --- let's go thru them quickly: 1) Appetizer - Bang Bang Shrimp: This dish began the meal right. The shrimp were perfectly cooked, quite large in size for an appetizer, and served with a nice tangy sauce. 2) Entree - Bone Marrow + Short Rib Fried Rice: This dish is perfectly portioned for lunch; it's not too big, nor too small. The most impressive part? Using your spoon --- and scooping out the bone marrow to mix into the short rib fried rice. This is decadent, but when will you ever do something like this again? Definitely try, and at least for me, maybe order it "spicy". I was missing a little bit of heat or acid to cut through the richness of the whole dish (that's why it's 4 stars); still a solid dish though. 3) Entree - My friend got the Soft Shell Crab Wrap, and she loved it. The number of highly rated reviews at D-D Delight is well deserved. For highly flavorful fusion dishes, this restaurant has you covered! Located in a small plaza, there is parking but it is shared with other stores in the plaza so I can understand why parking might be tough during peak hours and weekends. There's a lot to choose from on the food menu, let alone their drink menu is a whole page in itself. Order and pay using the QR code or you can order with a server. We went with one of their top rated drinks - the peach calamansi sparkling. It's gorgeous in its layers from the butterfly pea tea to the peach marmalade at the bottom. It's refreshing, not too sweet, and tastes natural! Great peach flavor coming through from the marmalade. I chose the shaken tofu rice plate. The tofu pieces did seem a little squished as if they lost some volume but it might be the tofu they use and how it's fried. The flavor was so delicious - strong and fragrant. The tomato rice cuts some of that flavor bomb back as it's more lightly seasoned and then the greens with pickled onions helps to round things out. The picanha sizzling steak comes with warm bread on the side to soak up all the sizzling juices and pate. Eggs, steak, fries, mushrooms - really what more could you want? The picanha was tender and slightly pink. Service was friendly and efficient. Clean and bright interior. I'd definitely return again! The steak was good with what looked like a creamier chimichurri, but the portion was on the smaller side. Also, it seems like some of the descriptions on the menu aren't followed to the T. The egg wasn't sunny side up and there was only one when the menu uses a plural. It was still good though. My husband got what we thought was a Vietnamese coffee, but based on the receipt it was just an espresso (H11). It was still very tasty, and the tiramisu cream with the lady finger was a nice touch (definitely dip it into the drink). The matcha French toast was so fluffy that it took no effort to cut with a fork, and I liked how the salted cream was on the side so we could control the ratios. Came here on a Saturday and it was quite busy, with limited parking, so we had to park in a nearby neighborhood. My boyfriend and I ordered the lechon rice plate and the Dino ribs sizzling plate. The lechon was perfectly crispy, the rice was well cooked, and it came with a citrusy, tangy dipping sauce that complemented everything really well. The Dino ribs were served with birria sauce, tortillas, and bone marrow. The short ribs were very tender, and the bone marrow was rich and flavorful, making the dish especially satisfying. I also ordered two drinks: a passion fruit with calamansi and a pandan matcha. Both were tasty, and I really enjoyed their drink selection overall. The food was amazing, but the customer service was lacking, which is why I'm giving this place a 4/5. D-D Delight Restaurant - LECHON STICKY RICE (XÔI HEO QUAY) and DINO RIBS SIZZLING (SƯỜN BÒ NÉ) - Asian Fusion Near Me - San Jose, California

I came back to D-D Delight specifically for their Dino Rib Banh Mi because the first time I had it, it was incredible. It was a massive, tender rib sandwich with a large bone you had to pull out yourself, super soft meat that melted in your mouth, and a great dipping sauce. Easily worth the ~$25. Unfortunately, this visit was a completely different experience, maybe because it was later in the evening. When the sandwich came out, it looked nothing like what I had before. There was no bone at all, the meat seemed like a completely different cut, and it was dry and tough. The bread was also burnt and overly hard. I even asked the staff if this was the correct order, and they confirmed it was. When I asked the young man about the missing bone (like in the photo), I was told they "decided to take it out to make it easier to eat," which already felt off. The food itself confirmed it... this was not the same sandwich. To make things worse, a drink we ordered didn't arrive until we were already paying the bill. When I brought up the issue while paying, I was told the picture is "just for advertising and not real." That didn't make sense since I've personally had the sandwich before exactly as shown with the rib and bone. After pointing that out, the young girl's response was basically "I'll tell the kitchen," and that was the end of it. Between the inconsistent food quality, misleading presentation, and poor service, this was a very disappointing experience. Came here Tuesday for lunch and not that busy. Located in a small corner plaza so parking can be difficult if busy. The restaurant is clean and the vibe is hip as they had party music playing throughout. It is bright and well lighted and had a small outdoor seating on the side. The menu is clean and very presentable and colorful and has numerous pictures to explain the many different dishes, drinks and even has catering options. We ordered: W1: Vietnamese Short Ribs Bo-SSAM- the presentation is on point as the leafy veggies came in a flower pot. Very colorful and vibrant and the ribs were off the bone, sliced and put back on top of the bone. Very tender and tasty. The veggies looked fresh and not wilted as some Vietnamese restaurant. D50: Saigon Cheesesteak (Banh Mi Pho Mai Bo- looked amazing. Bun is toasted and the cheese was fried, melted on top of the sandwich. Very good! G43: Peach Calamansi Tea- very good and recommended! Overall we were satisfied as this maybe a hidden gem as it is not located in a busy plaza and can be overlooked due to its located. We will definitely come back when in town to try the many other things on the menu. The staff was very friendly. At 12:09 the place was full as there are only 11 tables inside that ranged from 2 -4 seats per table. The pricing is not bad for the food, quality and setting they put you in. No restroom inside. Definitely a hidden gem that is a must try in the Bay Area. read more
