    SHORT RIBS/BONE MARROW FRIED RICE
    Aye K.

Cute spot for fusion food with a very extensive menu! Service was friendly but a bit on the slower side, though it was pretty busy inside. The dishes we tried were just okay. We had the short rib/bone marrow fried rice and the dino rib ramen. I know the menu is fusion, but the flavors did not particularly remind me of Vietnamese food or any other specific type of Asian cuisine. Overall, a fun concept with lots of options to choose from. The food was not quite for me, but wishing them well!

The first time we had DD's was so good. The soy garlic chicken was juicy, and I tried the Dino rib banh mi which was super tender and really fell off the bone. Really tasty stuff This time around I brought my parents to try it. My dad ordered the Dino rib ramen. To my surprise, the meat came just sitting on top of the bone as if the bone was reused. I get that maybe the Dino bone might be getting expensive to supply but the authenticity of the dish just fell right out the window for me. Otherwise, service was good and fast, [[HIGHLIGHT]]the place is clean with pretty decor.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The drinks came after the meals were delivered though, wish they brought them out sooner.

Everything was very flavorful and the presentation is very thoughtful. I had the Lion King salmon plate, which was fresh and flavorful. I wish I orders one of the star or favorites items. The ube chicken and waffles and the Dino banh mi dip were delicious! Any of their sauces were packed with flavor. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The interior had a romantic vibe to it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They should make the service area match though.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Customer service was good and they appeared pretty busy. Parking was small, but I did not have a hard time doing a spot.

I was a bit disappointed with D-D Delight. There was a lot of hype around this place, but unfortunately, the food didn't quite live up to it for me. The menu is packed with trendy fusion concepts and buzzword-type dishes: Dino Ribs Pho, bone marrow fried rice, Bò Kho Poutine, chili crunch, birria tacos, lechon mashups, and all kinds of creative Vietnamese and Filipino-inspired combinations. I appreciate the creativity and some of the dishes were actually pretty good, but others really fell short. Sometimes it felt like there were just too many ideas and trends being combined into one menu. The dishes sound amazing and definitely photograph well, but the actual flavors were hit or miss. Overall, this felt more like a hype and social media type of restaurant than a place I would return to specifically for the food. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend it.

Came to town to visit my girlfriends in the area & we were excited of the reviews & food presentation so we gave it a try. Unfortunately, the meat was over cooked. I am guessing it was cooked in advance & they reheated when it's ordered. Not much meat for plate of $25 over, fresh herbs & vegetables which is not fresh, It wilted quick. Looking back at the pictures of the dishes, it's probably taken by the restaurant owner & not the viewer. It has been cropped & photoshop. Disappointment of the food for the price of $30 a dish. Barely any meat.

Nice little find during my visit to San Jose! It would be 5 stars but the service is a little slow (they are very nice though). The Dino rib is nice cause it's already cut and presented on the bone so you don't have to worry about nawing into a rib bone . Bone marrow was very succulent. I loved my lechon plate, a glutinous dish, though my skin wasn't as crispy as I would have liked it to be. Good salmon, full of flavor. I don't think they have plain rice so tomato rice (or sticky) were the only options. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a place that looks to get busy quick, on the go territory so it's not a very optimal place for quiet (or to bring a baby) but would come here again![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Dessert they had options but I went for the sweet Bangkok which oddly took a lot of time to make. Once it arrived though it was very very good - and would come back just for that.

Lion king salmon rice plate, the dish with no complain by far.

I was honestly surprised to see the positive reviews because our experience with the food was quite different. We came in around 5:40 PM on a Saturday expecting freshly prepared, flavorful food. Unfortunately, several of the dishes we ordered were extremely dry and lacked flavor. The Bò Kho (beef rib), the Picanha steak sizzling and shaken beef dry-ramen were particularly disappointing. The meat was very dry, tough, and had a texture similar to jerky, which made it difficult to enjoy. When we mentioned this to the staff, we were told that the food was pre-cooked and that this was simply how it was served. I understand that some dishes may be prepared in advance, but I believe there should still be attention to maintaining the proper texture, moisture, and quality before serving. My father ordered the Lechon sticky rice. The pork was reasonably okay, but unfortunately, the rice was extremely hard and difficult to eat. I hope the restaurant will take this feedback seriously, particularly regarding the preparation and holding of pre-cooked food. Freshness, texture, and flavor make a significant difference in the overall dining experience. The staff were friendly, but unfortunately, the quality of the food made our overall experience disappointing. I would not recommend the restaurant based on our visit, and I don't plan to return unless there are improvements in food quality and preparation.

Talk about authentic Vietnamese food with a twist of creativity, and most importantly- full of flavor! It's been a long while since I been to D-D, so I was happy to see my usual favorite (Bo Kho) along with a whole expanded menu! My family and I ordered the Bo Kho, Dry Noodles with Shaken Beef , Taiwanese Spicy Chicken Sandwich, and the Lechon Lettuce Wrap Everything came out fast, hot, and visually appealing. Taste and quality of the food was great, with the meat juicy and tender (falling off the bone), noodles al dente, the pork and vermicelli dish well balanced. The only thing I would have liked more is if the Taiwanese chicken can be a thicker cut. We also got the chance to be greeted and served by the owners, Diane and Chef Duy - along with their friendly staff. They suggested the Pandan Matcha (which is made with REAL Pandan) and the Salted Matcha Pretty good drinks for a restaurant! We also had the pleasure of trying their desserts (offered through their full catering service), which were all delicious and not too sweet! My personal favorite was the Pandan Crème Brûlée

*Visited with a group of 3 around 6pm on a Wednesday Heard a lot of great things about D-D Delight, and finally found a chance to go. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is cozy and very pretty inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's plenty of seating, and you have the option to order through a QR code, their kiosk, or with a staff member.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Their staff is quick to assist and very welcoming :) OKAY THE FOOD: * Soft Shell Crab Tempura: Pretty tasty! I appreciate that it was perfectly crispy and had a great amount of crabs. * Hand Pull Sui Cao/ Brisket Noodle: Think of Bo Kho with chonky brisket & the bounciest yellow egg noodles. PRETTY YUMMY and would probably get it again. * Short Rib Bo Kho Platter: This dish was literally insane. A little different, but it worked out LOL I love their toasted bread a lot more than the toasted tortillas with this dish. * Salted Matcha: I am such a matcha snob, but their salted matcha was *chef's kiss* I definitely want to come back and try their other matcha drinks as well as their other drinks (there's a HUGE selection)

I'm so happy I came across this place. I've passed by it so many times and I finally gave in and don't regret it at all. I got a egg coffee and it was ok to me however my bf really liked it. I got the short ribs/bone marrow fried rice and my bf got the Dino rib sizzling plate. Both were so good and the meat was so tender full of flavor. This is a must try and don't skip out it's amazing!! But I will say the waiters tend to ask how everything is as we pay so I guess checking often would be better for customer experience.

This was our first time here and, walking in, I was instantly impressed by the beautiful scenery and flowers! Everything was clean and beautiful. To order, you have the option to do so at the counter, by scanning a QR code, or through a waiter. Service was quick and friendly! short ribs bo kho platter (serve up to 2 people): This dish was delicious! It came out cheesy and hot, and the flavors really burst. I also liked that they give you both tortillas and bread on the side. banh mi french toast: This dish was also delicious! I'm not sure what the yellow sauce was, it tasted like vanilla to me, but it was really good. My only complaint is that the dish was a bit too sweet for me, but if you have a sweet tooth, you should definitely try it! The bread was super eggy in a good way. first love lychee hibiscus: The drink was tart and refreshing. It did have way too much ice though, about 60% of the drink was ice. I do wish it had a stronger lychee flavor, but it was a nice touch that there was an actual lychee fruit in the drink. Overall, I would definitely come here again!

We've always ordered take out from here and everything we've ordered has been amazing! However, we finally got the chance to dine in today! We came around 4pm on a Sunday and there wasn't anyone dining in, so we got seated right away. I was in awe of how pretty the restaurant was, so the host sat us in the corner with the pretty signage and artificial cherry blossom tree hehe. The menu is very big, which can be a bit overwhelming. We decided to stick to our usual order, short rib/bone marrow fried rice and crispy chicken fried rice, but decided to try the shaken beef fries as an appetizer. The food came out really quick, since it was just us there at the time. The shaken beef on the fries were very tender and just melts in your mouth! When we packed our leftovers, you can see the juices from the beef spilling out lol. My bf gave me some of the crispy chicken skin from his bowl and it was so good; you can hear the crunch when I bit into it! My short rib/bone marrow fried rice was amazing as usual and very filling. We agreed that the food tastes even better when it's served fresh! We both enjoyed our drinks; sunset (mango hibiscus) and sparkling passionfruit calamansi. They have so many drinks that sound so good! Matcha, tea, fruit tea, milk tea, coffee, dessert drinks, and so much more! Our waiter, Duy, was very friendly and provided us with great customer service. We appreciated him checking up on us and making sure we were content with our meal. I would love to try their other dishes, but I keep coming back for the same thing haha. Maybe I'll try something new next time!

The service is awesome! I've eaten here before and the food is amazing! It is Asian fusion food at its finest. The traditional food items were to die for! Their coffee is amazing with the combinations! Tea options were great too!

It's always a good sign of authentic Vietnamese food when I don't quite understand the full menu. It also comes with the whole rice paper wrap setup, where you can grab rice paper and efficiently dip it in water to soften it up. I love that the dipping sauce is in a giant bowl, composed of the classic fish sauce concoction with sugar and some garlic and optional chili. I could honestly drink the bowl of fish sauce if I'm being honest but I'm fortunately more civilized than that. Service is very quick. The food comes out fast and it's pretty efficient. Between Saigon and Hanoi, I went on a full-blown bánh cuốn quest, trying different spots almost daily. Street stalls, little hole-in-the-wall shops, famous spots--you name it. At some point I stopped being a tourist and became a rice-roll inspector. So yeah... my standards are unfortunately very high now. The best bánh cuốn I had in Vietnam was paper thin and almost translucent, with this delicate chew that somehow breaks apart and melts in your mouth. That's the texture I'm chasing. Coming back here, the rice sheets were noticeably thicker and didn't have that same delicate texture. They also weren't as fresh and warm as I remembered, which makes a huge difference with bánh cuốn. This is one of those dishes that's at its best when the sheets are freshly steamed and hit your table warm. The meat filling was also underwhelming and not nearly as flavorful or savory as another bánh cuốn spot I've had in San Jose. With a dish this simple, there's nowhere to hide--the rice sheet, filling, freshness and nước mám chấm (fish sauce) all have to work together. It's certainly not bad, and I can understand why people enjoy it. But after eating my way through Saigon and Hanoi in pursuit of the perfect bánh cuốn, this one is kinda meh for me now. My old review gave this place 4 stars. Vietnam ruined me.

We've probably eaten here 50+ times with family and friends, and one thing I can say is that they are 100% consistent. We've never had a bad meal here. There's a great variety of Vietnamese dishes, so everyone can usually find something they like. The chả cá (fish) is one of their popular dishes and a favorite. They also have good chicken phở, broken rice, vermicelli noodles, spring rolls, roll-your-own options, and plenty of soups beyond phở. You can order individual dishes or share family-style, which makes it especially easy when coming with a group. It's very casual, family-friendly, quick, and straightforward--nothing fancy and probably not where I'd choose for a date night. But for a dependable meal with family or friends, it's a great spot. Kids like it, parents like it, and my mom likes it--which says a lot coming from an older Vietnamese person who knows her Vietnamese food! The staff is always efficient and nice, and after all these years, the food remains consistently good. The biggest downside is parking. The entire shopping center has become so busy with restaurants that finding a spot can be overwhelming, especially during peak hours. Also, keep in mind they do not take credit cards. Bring cash, or you can pay electronically through options such as Zelle/Venmo. Overall, this is one of those longtime neighborhood restaurants we keep coming back to because we know exactly what we're going to get: good Vietnamese food, plenty of choices, friendly service, and consistency.

The broth is very flavorful, the noodles are freshly cooked and soft, soaking up the flavors of the broth, and the meat is also very tender, soaking up additional flavor from the rest of the dish. Just a heads up, they only have soup available here - no spring rolls or other traditional dishes you might expect to find in a Vietnamese restaurant. The staff is quick to get your order in and your food brought out, but after that, you're on your own. When you're finished eating, you have to go up to the register at the end of your meal and let them know your table number to check out. Payment is cash only.

Unfortunately, the service was not very welcoming--the staff came across as blunt, impatient, and at times rude--but I could have overlooked that if the food had fully lived up to the hype. The broth made a good first impression and clearly included many of the right spices, although it was also quite salty. As I got further into the bowl, however, the flavor started to feel flat and lacked the rich, slow-simmered depth I expect from a restaurant that specializes in this dish. It tasted more heavily seasoned than deeply developed, so experienced bún bò Huế fans may find it underwhelming. The meat was also not as tender as I would have liked, and the congealed blood--usually my favorite part--was overcooked and dry rather than smooth and tender. The visible holes suggested it may have been cooked too quickly at too high a temperature. Overall, the meal was decent and had some good flavors, but the broth, meat, and service did not meet my expectations. I can understand why it is popular, but I would probably try another bún bò Huế spot next time.

The bahn cuon here is really good -- the rice noodle is so fresh and soft and chewy. This was my favorite and the variety was so appreciated as well! It's also surprisingly filling and I would definitely get this next time I'm here. The fish sauce was also delicious as well. (this is in reference to the dish Banh Cuon Tay Ho Dac Biet) Bahn Beo were good sizes and nicely steamed. I wish there was a bit more sauce because I was running out at the end. Toppings are appropriately sized as well Personal take, I didn't really enjoy the fried pork rind topping as much and would have liked more shrimp, but once again, personal preference. I didn't quite enjoy the Hu Tieu, but my friend liked the soup! It's a little too plain for me. I do love the feeling and texture of eating thick, round rice noodles. The banh xeo that came on the side was hard to crunch through, I felt like it was probably sitting on the side for a while. Vibes were nice -- there's a call button to ask for service. Menu has a lot of items as well (e.g. pho, rice plates, etc), so there's something for everyone if you come with a big group! Our server was also really attentive and sweet -- he came by and asked if we wanted additional dishes/bowls since we were sharing food!

I ordered their egg rolls and banh beo for catering which came with lots of fresh herbs/lettuce, fish sauce, and other toppings. Pricing was very affordable as well for the quality. I have also frequently gone into their store to enjoy a nice plate of com tam or bun thit nuong which has always been great. They provide their nuoc mam/fish sauce on the table and always are attentive. Restaurant is large and can accommodate a bunch of tables. Parking is also on a big plaza so didn't have trouble parking.

It's not outstanding, but it's definitely enjoyable. Unfortunately, the service ruined the experience. As soon as I sat down, I hadn't even had a chance to look through the whole menu before the server kept touching my shoulder and repeatedly pressured me to order. I found it very rude and uncomfortable because I really don't like strangers touching me. The older lady did it to everyone in our table, and she didn't seem to realize she was making our entire group uncomfortable, and it affected our whole dining experience. So, would I come back? Absolutely not. One visit was more than enough. I'm not willing to deal with that kind of pushy service again.
