I always come here and get the same dish: phở đặc biệt large with wide noodles. And every time the warm broth and tender meats do not disappoint. When you come in, you will be greeted to sit immediately or you just need to jot your name down to get called. Overall, the service is quick and the restaurant decor is modern. Great spot in SJ for Pho
Whoa! Todays visit was by far the best one yet! We frequent this establishment due to its tasty, savory fresh pho but we had the opportunity to also get awesome customer service by JOSHUA a new face with great customer service. He went above and beyond all while smiling and that's what this place was missing. Definitely returning more often because of him! 10 stars if possible
Bun rieu is very flavorful and tomato forward! Broth is light, not heavy or oily. Crab meatballs are hefty. The ribs were tender.
Got seated quickly, ordered and food came out quickly! I was surprised the spring rolls came out much later than the pho bowls. I was trying to wait to eat but didn't want my food to get cold. The broth wasn't as hot as it should be so some of the rare steak didn't fully cook all the way or took a very long time. Everything tasted good though and you get a lot! I couldn't finish my pho. I really enjoyed the sugar cane drinks! You can't go wrong with the basic one but the passion fruit one was delicious. I'd definitely come back!
Heard this place has some atypical beef cuts for pho, so decided to check it out when I was in the area. We tried the smoked brisket pho and oxtail photo. The broth is some of the most delicious I've had, but I felt that the quality of the meats itself didn't really amount to it. You have the option to order fresh noodles for $1. I opted not to do this, and I could really taste the difference. I got the small size for $17.45. Normally when I order a small pho at a restaurant, the portion is just right to feel like a full meal, but here, it really is small. It did not feel like a full meal. So overall, not the best in terms of value or quality of the meats. It's nice that there is a lot of customized options, but it truly feels like a 'you get what you pay for' kind of experience.
The Pho San Jose was really tasty. They give you options of various noodles. The fresh noodle is a bit thicker than the standard. The rice dish was mid. I would get pho here over a rice dish. I took off a star because they have a 3.75% fee for using your credit card and an automatic 15% gratuity for parties over 6. They have this in tiny print on the bottom of the menu. That's an automatic 18.75% on top of the menu price.
Sad to see Coffee Lovers go but happy that Pho SJ moved closer to us. Solid pho place and I can see why some of my friends say this is one of their favorite pho restaurants. The broth was tasty, flavorful and not packed with msg. It also came out piping hot (which is a HUGE plus in my books) and the ratio of broth, noodles and meat was perfect. they had a nice selection of drinks. My husband ordered the pennywort sugarcane and I got the pennywort coconut juice. Both were not overly sweet and very refreshing. Service was fast and friendly and restaurant was clean. We will definitely come back!
I came here randomly after seeing it on TikTok? I gotta admit it, this specific Pho Restaurant has one of the most cleanest modern designs I have ever seen? I just prefer one regular small beef Pho, small size. Taste wise it's decent, just a little bit above average? The meat servings are somewhat smaller than expected, they could add more? I've had hella people tell me this place is hella good. And they weren't lying. It's located in a strip mall so there's hella parking. Which is good because the road is hella busy. We ended up coming here after an event and was starving. The service was quick and they were hella fast with taking our orders and serving us. We ended up getting pho, but with fresh noodles. That thang was smacking. Holy, way better than I expected. I will come here again whenever I'm in town.
This is a solid pho place. Theres plenty of parking and barely ever a wait at the restaurant. The inside of the restaurant is pretty big and there's a sun covered patio also. Our group was seated rather quickly after getting inside. And we got menus and water right away. Service is quick and friendly. We ordered a couple pho dac biet, pho with brisket, pho ga, pho em be (kids), egg rolls, and a hu tieu tron. The pho dac biet were good! The kids is the same broth but just noodles and meat balls but still very good. The pho ga was definitely lighter and some may like that better. The hu tieu tron was large even though I ordered a regular; it served two people. Although, it was rather salty. The egg rolls on the other hand were bland. I think we found our go to spot for pho that's not in South San Jose.
I've been to this location before but got crispy eggrolls because I wasn't hungry. I made a note to myself to try the pho when I get the chance. So I went back 8 months later with my cousin. My cousin got the sugarcane and spring rolls. The spring rolls came in quick. There has to be a reason when we just ordered 2-3 minutes ago. My eyes can tell they're dry. She only had one roll and played with the second. She didn't touch the third. She didn't mentioned anything good with the spring rolls. She did however finish her sugarcane drink. One thing about my cousin is that she loves spring rolls so the dish was disappointing to her. I, on the otherhand, got to try the pho; I got the 3 meat variety and added bone marrow. I feel like it's generic pho. The broth is what stands out. It's not too salty but well balanced. They put a lot of onions, which is not okay with me. I wouldn't go here again because of the price. I can still find good inexpensive pho. Maybe if I'm in a pickle. It's a spacious place so I think it's handicapped friendly towards the door. The register is cramped for my liking. I wouldn't know if a wheelchair can fit.

It's hard to put into words, but good pho seems to have a certain "something" that comforts you when you've had a good day, bad day, or when you're just hangry. When you want pho, you want pho. Accept no substitutes! I lucked out and beat the lunch crowd since by the time I paid the bill ~12:15, it was starting to get crowded. I'll admit to messing up since this is one of the few places where the broth is so good, you don't need to add lime juice. I got scolded by my colleague later. It's fine. I'll just return here on Sunday for lunch.

Spring rolls were refreshing and the rice paper was super sticky and chewy. Before I start this review, be forewarned: it contains numerous dad jokes and puns. Read at your own pho-risk! Pho-sure, this is our go-to spot for delicious, consistently satisfying Vietnamese pho. You'll find it in an unassuming strip mall in Cupertino--just kidding, it's in San Jose, of course. The location is literally in the name, so no need to pho-llow a complicated map. It's away from the bustle around Saigon Town and closer to Berryessa, but the pho is every bit San Jo-sational. What makes it a favorite for us: the puppy-friendly outdoor seating and the pho ga dac biet--chicken pho with liver and gizzards. My wife thinks it's pho-nomenal. She's into offal that isn't awful, but rather awfully tasty. I usually get the pho dac biet, and, like the pho ga, the broth is pho-tastic, Making broth this reliably delicious takes serious pho-cus, and the chefs clearly have it. The one miss: the limpy lumpia. Why offer a subpar Filipino egg roll when a crispy Vietnamese spring roll could be on the menu instead? I'm Filipino, by the way, and I'd much rather cha gio my way through a crunchy Vietnamese spring roll. Yes, that pun is a little fried, but so should the roll. Finally, the summer rolls (goi cuon) are always in season. Nothing fancy--just the standard pork and shrimp--but they're reliably fresh and refreshing. With that, it's a wrap! So disorganized! One of the better traditional southern style pho, but they are so disorganized, short staff and I would probably just prefer old school service where the grumpy old man just sat you right away and then give you a menu, hovering over you asking you what you want within 3 seconds of seating. And pho coming out within 2-3 minutes after that. The good old days. Now it's all high schoolers or younger gen workers. You would think service is good, but nope. We came for a party of 9, waited awhile even though there was a 10 top table ready and the older lady said that's ours, but never sat us there, instead sat a couple there. Seriously?! We were there first and waited awhile. In the end, one of my party complained and they moved the couple to a smaller table and sat us. Some sort of miscommunication on the staffs end. Then only one server taking orders, even though there were 3 other staff just walking around doing nothing. Felt sorry for the guy. However he totally ignored us and took every one else's order (even though they came later). I was frustrated and flagged him down and asked him to take our order. Afterwards, food came out fairly quick. The pho itself is your typical southern style pho, it's good and has good flavor. Love that they put hella green onions and cilantro. The meat wasn't bad and the portions were decent. I would probably only come back with just myself, my husband and toddler. Seems like they aren't equip for larger parties, but it's SJ! For our party of 6, they tacked on an automatic 15% gratuity plus a 3.75% credit card fee without mentioning it. Unaware, we added a standard 20% tip on top; meaning we paid nearly 40% in extra charges. For a spot where service only consists of taking your order, dropping bowls, skipping water refills, and having you pay at the counter, that feels completely unjustified. TL;DR: - come here for their sugar cane if you're in the area, but skip out on their pho and hu tieu. parking: - lots of parking wait time: - no wait time ambiance: - modern with options to dine inside or in their shaded outdoor patio. service: - fast and helpful food: [Worth It] - sugar cane with passion fruit: tastes fresh but the downside was the price and the amount of ice that came with it. [Good to Try Once] - Pho Brisket: tried this since everyone seemed to be raving about it. I thought it was good to try once. Soup was not remarkable and the brisket was a bit dry. - Dry Hu Tieu: this option came with chicken, pork and beef, and a small soup on the side. However even I make a better dry hu tieu! Ordered Bun Tit Nun to go for dinner. It is a simple, delicious Vietnamese dish that is super easy to eat especially for those who are getting introduced to Vietnamese cuisine. It comes with noodles, beef, greens, pickled radish and carrots, eggrolls, and fish sauce. My only complaint and reasoning for the low stars is I requested NO PEANUTS due to a severe allergy in the household. Unfortunately, they included peanuts (I should have checked before leaving.) However, when it comes to accommodations especially with a common food allergy such as peanuts; I find it pretty vital to ensure there is no cross contamination and ESPECIALLY not including in the dish. read more

I ordered the pho ga with pickled onions on the side, and it really delivered. The broth was light but deeply flavorful, not greasy, and tasted like it had been simmered properly instead of rushed. The chicken was tender, and the pickled onions added a perfect bright, tangy contrast that cut through the richness. Highly recommend adding them if you like balance in your pho. We also shared the crispy fried shrimp, which came out hot, crunchy, and not oily. Simple, well-executed, and great for sharing while waiting on pho. Exactly what you want when you're craving pho. This place was clean and inviting, and they also have a covered outdoor seating area. The food was really delicious. Supposedly their broth is simmered for 20 hours and it definitely shows. You can smell the great beefy aroma the second you step inside and the taste is even better. Their brisket is apparently smoked for 17 hours. Smoked brisket was very good and tender. I also got the SJ Pho which comes with all the typical pho meats. It also had tendons which in most cases is very tough or chewy, but theirs was tender and melt in your mouth. I really like it. I love that they serve blanched bean sprouts, because most places dont unless you ask for it. Their shrimp & pork spring roll is very refreshing and their peanut sauce is fantastic. Love that they also add crushed peanuts, pickled carrots and daikons, and chili peppers on top the sauce. It gave it extra umami flavors. The only downside was that they served us everything a** backwards. Our entrees came out first, then the springroll appetizer, and then the Peach drink came out towards the end when our pho was almost finished. Other than that, definitely a great pho spot! read more

After trying a handful of different pho restaurants in the past few months, I think PSJ has to be my favorite pho spot in the bay area. My usual order is a Pho San Jose with regular noodles (fresh noodles are an extra charge). The broth is always so rich in flavor and we're always given a decent amount of meat. Service is always super fast - we are seated immediately, order, and our food is out within 5 minutes. Perfect for a quick and cheap dinner. read more

In a saturated market for pho, you won't go wrong finding a place in South Bay, and no doubt, Pho San Jose will come up in your search - not only for its search engine optimized name but also their picturesque bowls of noodles loaded with succulent slices of meat. Sandwiched among a variety of cafes and restaurants in this large lot, Pho San Jose hosts locals and visitors alike to their small, yet comfortable dining space brightly lit by the sunlight coming through their windows and the ambient light fixtures hanging from the ceiling. On the wall to your immediate left as you walk in, you'll find the trendy faux grass/hedge with their name lit up in the center. As you walk in, you may find that it's packed and requires you to put down your name on the waitlist. We came in for an early dinner and the place was pretty sparse so we were seated right away. We were given waters and menus to peruse but we noticed they also had menus accessible via the QR code at each table. The menu was pretty simple with starters, pho/noodles, rice plates, and desserts/beverages. As a first timer, I selected the signature pho sharing its namesake. It's the typical combo that has a bit of everything. When you order, the default size is their regular but you can opt for the smaller size by request. Add ons are extra of course, but I found the regular portions were plenty enough. In addition, after placing our order, we were given a plate of bean sprouts, basil, and limes as toppings to our pho. While we waited, we prepared our chopsticks, spoons, napkins, and sauces which were all self service at each table. When the massive bowls came, everything was submerged in soup. One sip of this nectar was the cue for my stomach to open up and to start chowing down. The noodles were still bunched up when the bowl came so we did the typical dance of spreading the bowl with the toppings, mixing it all up to keep things cooking, and tasting the soup as you smack your lips in anticipation of the meal in front of you. My bowl of the Pho San Jose was loaded with flanks, brisket, riblet, steak and tendon. It was the perfect amount of meat and relatively lean on all the cuts. For a carnivore, this bowl will satisfy your hunger! The amount of noodles was just right and I slurped up most of my soup to top off my full belly. The staff were pretty friendly and quick with their service. They all seem to be multi tasking to be as efficient as possible to keep the place churning and clean. For payment, I had walked up to the register toward the back of the shop. They offer a cash discount, otherwise you pay a 3.75% service fee. For gratuity, they automatically include it for parties of 6 or more. The price is pretty high, however I do feel like pho prices have been skyrocketing for the past few years. You'll still get decent value out of your meal, but the price point will prevent me from eating out here regularly. Overall, Pho San Jose is worth a visit if you're a fan of pho and would like to get a good hearty helping of protein with your bowl. The quality is high but so is the price and if you're looking to dine on a budget, it may be challenging here. If you're in the area and trying to get a hot bowl of soup and noodles, Pho San Jose should be highly considered! read more

I came here for the first time a year ago since I saw people recommending it on TikTok. But unfortunately it wasn't quite memorable and the broth lacked flavor. They also no longer had the brisket pho around when we went...one of the reasons we wanted to go. I really wanted to give Pho San Jose another chance and wow right when I tasted the broth FLAVOR. Also large pieces of tender tendon. The boneless rib meat was super tender as well. My boyfriend got the smoked brisket pho (not pictured) and the broth & meat is Smokey throughout. I was very happy this time with the quality and variety of food. They've redeemed themselves as a place I'd revisit. The Shrimp Doughnut has a very great crunch and flavor. Also not pictured the pickled onion & sugar cane which I recommend to order. I look forward to come back! read more

The service here is quick but they do seem a little understaffed. What matters is the food and the broth was a bit oily than what I would like. Other than that, the broth had very good flavor and the meat was tender. I just wish they gave more noodle though. I got the regular bowl and I feel like they could've given more noodle. read more

Ordered from this place a few times now and really appreciate the taste of the broth. It's clean and fresh. Was a tad bit oilier this last time, but still very tasty. Service was great. Paid and waited about 10mins for the food to be ready. Packaged nicely. First time being inside the restaurant - nice decor. Looks clean. Will likely eat in next time. read more

NOV2025 Came through for a remedial meal with partner and friends. Reservations made it easy, plenty of parking in the area. Service checked in with us here and there. It was relatively busy at the time for lunch but there wasn't too much noise despite that. Food came out quick for the table. I had gotten the PSJ smoked brisket with fresh noodles, a side of oxtail, and we had the spring rolls to share. Was in the mood for oxtail but really wanted to try the smoke. The meat was well prepared, nothing dry in the least. The broth was solid, not heavy in the least. The brisket had a light smoke flavor and wasn't chewy in the least adding nicely to the dish. The oxtail on the side was tender also, and was great as an addition for meal 2 throwing it all together. Their spicy mix on the side also has a deceiving kick so if you haven't tried it before, start with a little. Certainly diifferent, this was great for the recovery. I'll definitely have to try the chicken pho if in the area again. read more

Finally making my way to Pho SJ. This is located in a shopping center strip mall. Plenty of parking. The venue was nicely decorated inside and clean. I came during Friday lunch and was very busy, sign of a delicious restaurant. On this day there was a woman who came in to sing Christmas carol music. A nice touch during the holiday season. Not sure if that was by design or just a special day. Now for the good part. The Pho I ordered came with fresh delicious ingredients. It was steaming hot which is a preference of mine when eating soup. The beef was tender and delicious. Now would I come back. Definitely! The food was very good. Actually looking to go back next week and try another dish. I recommend if you like Pho! read more
It's been a minute since I've visited here and I'm glad I came in! I was reminded how good it is here. The soup is piping hot, the broth is flavorful and delicious! The noodles are loose here, not clumped together like a hockey puck at other Phó joints. It only takes 10 seconds to blanch the noods, why not do it? The digs are modern decor with an outside patio. This place was pretty packed so you know it's going to be good. We waited for 40 minutes because we had a big party. The restaurant is very clean and service was great! The staff were very nice and patient with us. I ordered the chicken pho! The most tender chicken I ever had! My pho was so delicious that I ate it all! Definitely a good pho restaurant! Finally found great pho in the Berryessa area! I enjoyed their Pho Tu Chon (variety bowl). The three meats that I chose were their fatty brisket, tendon, and marrow. This bowl was a different creature with that marrow, enhancing that umami-ness. My next visit got even better with the PSJ Smoked Brisket Pho. In my world of pho, this is one of the best simply because it's different. I found this recommendation on Reddit and my god, this is my new pho spot! The broth is sooooo flavorful and each bowl comes with so much meat. I've been to many pho spots in the South Bay and haven't found "the one" for me, but Pho San Jose has become THAT SPOT for me. I ordered the smoked brisket pho, which I've never seen at a pho spot before so I was curious. My friend and I also shared the spring rolls, which were fresh but nothing special. The pho however?! The broth was so rich and aromatic, and the fresh noodles really put it over the top because they're thicker than normal vermicelli noodles. The brisket had a perfect balance of not too meaty, not too fatty and I also wasn't gulping cups of water after. Their Vietnamese lime soda was the perfect pairing to wash everything down- it was super tart and refreshing! Only downside for me is that they're not located closer to me, so gotta make the drive out to North SJ to get a good bowl of pho. I WILL be making the drive! read more
