My group decided to come here on Monday evening. The wait time was acceptable. We just stood in the waiting area less than one minute then we were guided by a short hair lady. She was very friendly because she asked us where we wanted to sit. We wanted to sit at the corner but then she warmly walk us to another table and she said that it would avoid the sunset. We really appreciate that. It showed she does care for us. Their service was excellent and consistent. They didn't rush us to order but nicely told us "feel free to ask if you have any question". The lady server approached us with respect and leave when we said we need a few more minutes. When she came back, she nicely pointed out the bestseller items in the menu. We liked the way she introduced it. She also mentioned that their beef sourced from Harris Ranch - very impressive! We chose P2 the rare steak beef pho, a Ha Noi special rolls and a crispy sticky rice with chicken. Definitely the best beef meat I've had in the Bay Area. The meat was tender, juicy and fresh. The soup was too hot for us but it helped the steak become medium. The rolls were quite ok with 3 kinds of sauce, but we loved the peanut sauce the most. The crispy sticky was something good to try but the chicken needs more sauce. When we asked for more sauce, the lady quickly brought it. We shared the foods and it was enough for 4 adults. The total price was reasonable. When I asked the lady server about the tip, she said that was optional. She also said that the owner fairly distributed to everyone. I liked it. I think that was why they have good service. Finally, this will be my favorite restaurant for pho in the Bay area. I will bring my relatives here when they come to visit San Jose. read more

WORTH EVERY PENNY! I've been to the Cupertino location but did not know there was a Milpitas location! Hands down - I would prefer Milpitas over the Cupertino one any day after today's dinner! Came in on a Sunday evening around 6:30pm, no wait at all & was greeted and seated within the first minute. This location is so clean!! The meats are extremely tender, the restaurant is spacious and nicely decorated, and the menu has so many other great options in addition to pho. I came in a Saturday lunch and here was a 15 minute wait for a party of 2. Make sure you wait inside, not outside, because they don't call the waitlist names to the outside. My go-to is the #1 Pho Dac Biet. The meats are tender and plentiful. At other pho spots there's always at least one meat that's kinda tough but that isn't the case here. I love that pho comes with culantro! I really like the shredded rare steak (tai), but my complaint is that my broth didn't come hot enough to fully cook it. Also wish they had tripe! read more

Only been to Vietnam town location. First time to Milpitas location even though I worked in Milpitas lol Came to have lunch with my boss and was impressed by how big the restaurant is. Since it was lunch hour, the restaurant was quite full, but we were still able to be seated promptly. I ordered S13 - Spicy Hue Noodle with 20 oz Beef Short Rib. Food were served less than 5 minutes and the portion was decent. The soup bowl doesn't look that big but I couldn't finish at the end. The short rib came with a "BIG" surprised lol cuz the size is REALLY BIG!!!! Soup base tastes good and there is a lot of meat just from the rib itself. They also came with a few slices of Vietnamese ham. Luckily there not much other meat, otherwise I would have a lot to pack. I also ordered their Ube Coffee, maybe it's not my cup of tea, I don't really taste Ube. Arrived on a Wednesday afternoon for lunch and was surprised with how busy they were. We entered, put our name down for a table, and waited a few minutes before we were seated. We're treated with love and respect here and their chicken pho is our absolute favorite which is why we visit their Milpitas venue atleast once a week especially during the cold draft South Bay is experiencing. Their chicken thigh pho is delicious. The broth doesn't taste packaged even though it is and there is good flavor in the chicken thighs. The original noodles go classically with the chicken thigh broth and the addition of Thai basil and their secret house made chilli oil and chopped red chillis makes a world of difference. They do mess up our order sometimes like today for example, January 10th for lunch we ordered 2 large chicken thigh pho and we got the chicken breast pho and my pho was lukewarm. I expect my pho to be hot temperature wise otherwise there is no use. I always give them the benefit of the doubt but they do mess up quite a bit when they are busy. They should figure out this situation. Today they brought out two small bowls the thigh pho on the side to mix with the lukewarm pho. I had to send the lukewarm one back coz I cannot eat cold pho. The pho in the small bowls tasted completely different from what was in my main bowl earlier. This is disappointing. This is the second time something like this has happened. We visit quite often thanks to the proximity of this location to our home. Most of their menu items have a lot of beef so we stick to chicken. The Ha Noi special roll is like an inside out eggroll where it's a spring roll on the outside and a crispy egg roll on the inside. Very good. The roasted chicken had a good sauce on top and you can taste that's it's a free range chicken so good quality. The grilled pork vermicelli had a special where it was only $13.95 so that was a good price and cooked very well. This location replaced the old Craw Daddy that didn't work out and has been here for about a year. Located off of Abel Street in Milpitas, Pho Ha Noi took over what used to be Crawdaddy 2. Parking is super annoying over the weekend- not only because of the heavy traffic flow but because large cars are squeezing into parking spots specifically labeled for "compact". The eagerness and hunger must be too damn real!! I hurry up and add our name to the growing waitlist. 3 out of the 5 were physically there so I was anticipating on being continually pushed back until the rest of the crew arrived. Surprisingly, the staff seated us anyhow. Decor in this joint is nice- it's a very upscale, modern type of vibe. The menu offerings include appetizers, pho, sizzling steak, beef stew, vermicelli bowls, and rice plates. Our order: *Pho Bo Dac Biet [special combination pho] x2 *Pho Tai Bo Vien [Beef Ball & Rare Beef Pho] *Bun Thit Nuong Cha Goi [grilled pork & egg roll vermicelli] *Imperial Crab Rolls x2 *Nuoc Mia [large sugarcane juice] x2 Food: Food was just alright. Nothing over the top or memorable. The pho broth was okay, I've most definitely had better. For 3 large bowls of pho, the amount of veggies/herbs provided was super stingy! The bun thit nuong was good but it was funny how we couldn't add grilled shrimp to our bowl even with the restaurant having shrimp on their menu. The imperial rolls had to be the most useless and uncalled for buy. At $8.25 an order, you get 2 eggrolls that are sopping wet in oil. First visit to this location. I'm a big fan of this chain and normally I visit the SJ or Palo Alto locations. First impression was that it is quite large and roomy inside! Reminded me of Ha Noi restaurants, comfortingly nostalgic. We could see the bar and kitchen from our table, and I'm was quite impressed by how orderly and clean it was! We arrived an hour before closing: we were quickly seated and the server arrived to take our order immediately even though the restaurant was still quite busy. We were disappointed to hear the specials were sold out (not sure why they gave us the 2 special menus in this case) and they had run out of their fresh noodles already. Given that information, I decided to order the shaken beef with tomato rice but was disappointed again when my dish arrived with chicken rice instead without pre warning. When I pointed this out to the waiter, he didn't offer any alternatives other than surprise the kitchen must have also ran out of tomato rice and he just walked away. I know it's just rice but I love their tomato rice and was really looking forward to it! It was awkward and I expect more from this customer friendly chain. When paying our bill, I asked they inform customers of substitutions ahead of time and they did take $3 off for the rice. I appreciated the gesture. We also ordered phos which hit the spot despite the fresh noodles run out. Honestly I was surprised to hear so many options and ingredients were sold out (we attempted to order other menu items and were also denied!) as it's never happened to us at the other locations or Vietnamese restaurants in general. Had to check out this local spot after finding out they had opened! Went for dinner service and I have to say that this spot knocked it out of the park with host and service smiling ear to ear helping with fast service and questions. Their take on Northern style Vietnamese pho is unique and nails a complex yummy and tangy broth that really doesn't need the extra sauce which is rare. Piping hot pho to help warm the stomach which is contrary to what a lot of past reviews complained about. This spot is a new favorite in town and I feel so happy with the food and services that they are a good competitor for other spots here in Milpitas. Really disappointed with the pho this time as there were 2 big errors that really made the pho not taste good. The first and crucial being that the soup was just NOT hot enough to cook the skirt steak to rare. I've made this complaint before and it seems like it wasn't corrected. I waited a bit longer to see if it would cook a bit more but it didn't. I told the waitress and she gave me the option of giving me a bowl of hot soup; there, I put my skirt steak in there (probably not a wise decision). The second complaint was that the soup wasn't very flavorful and lacked salt. It tasted very bland and almost cold by the time I was close to being done. The side bowl had more flavor but for some reason the taste was present when I scooped from the bottom of the bowl. Overall, I was very disappointed and I probably should have just asked them to redo the whole thing. It's a big shame, too, because getting a proper bowl tastes great. They are also very attentive and refilled our water several times without being asked. They take empty plates to make room. About the our meal: we ordered the Rare Steak Flank and Brisket Pho and the 1 lb. Short Rib Pho. The soup broth was full of flavor and not oily. The meat was tender and they give a generous portion. There's plenty of parking outside as well. I've only had the pho ga (chicken pho) here at this location. It's my favorite thing to get at Pho Hanoi. The portion size is decent. You can choose between fresh noodles or regular pho noodles. I prefer regular pho noodles. Also, if you're not a fan of the gizzards, you can tell them not to add it. They do give you quite a lot of it if you like it. The chicken is very tender. It's definitely high quality chicken. The broth is good, full of flavor and not too overpowering. Rare beef was good as expected. The little one really enjoyed it. Kids pho: 2.5 stars. a big bowl of noodles and well done meat or meat ball. No green onions or cilantro. The little one complained so I gave her my green onions and cilantro. But there was not enough broth for the noodles causing a very starchy metallic taste that she did not like. Bun bo hue: 2 stars. my eldest said the noodles was ok but the meat had an old meat taste. She only ate 2/3 if the bowl and wasted the rest.
