    Unagi omurice
    Sarah C.

High quality HK cafe! We got the unagi omurice and baked pork chop over spaghetti. Unagi was so tender and the egg was so tasty over the rice. My highlight was definitely the baked pork chop! Pork chop was surprisingly very tender and juicy (which is hard to achieve for many other places). Spaghetti went perfectly with the pork and cheesy top, combining everything I love in one dish! And great portion size too Hong Kong milk tea also hit the spot, exactly what I was hoping for. Our party of 2 got seated really quickly on a Sunday night, though the restaurant was poppin the whole time we were there and felt very lively. The staff were also incredibly sweet and checked up on us often.

Uncle Cha's fusion cafe...With all the hype from social media we had to find time to try this "famous" restaurant. We decided to come on a Saturday night and put our names down at around 7PM. We were on the waitlist for about an hour then we were able to get seated. The ambiance was okay, reminded me of any other asian/hong kong cafe. You scan the QR code on your table then you start adding items to your cart and checkout when you're ready. We decided a variety of items like the curry fish balls, pineapple bunch (pork floss), fried noodles, baked pork chop, hong kong toast, and fried rice. The curry fish balls were okay and I didn't think it was anything special. The pineapple buns were interesting with the pork floss combo but I didn't really enjoy it. The fried noodles were decent but it wasn't that much. The pork chop was tasty and the rice with the sauce was good. The french toast was just fun to eat but nothing special. The fried rice though was fire! Definitely would get that again. Overall, the price was relatively cheap as each dish was like $10-$15 and we were able to take some leftovers home.

My friends and I came here on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. It was really busy, and we waited about an hour, not a big problem. We got the Seafood Spaghetti, Yang Zhou fried rice, Rice and Eel and Salted Egg Yolk Fried Chicken wings. Let's start with the good: - Rice omelet and eel was pretty good. We all liked the eel as it was flavorful and omelet was cooked right. - Yang Zhou fried rice was also pretty good and I love that the portion is big for the 3 of us. The down side: - Food came out one by one and it took a while for each dish to come out. Not a huge problem since it's pretty busy. - Seafood Spaghetti was really bland in my opinion. The creamy was there, but it was missing flavor. I usually prefer saltier food, but even my friends who eat pretty bland (no shade), they said it was really bland. This goes for the chicken wings as well. Egg yolk taste/smell was evident, but again, there's almost no noticeable seasoning. Maybe our tastebuds are different, but it was really bland for us overall and unfortunately was not worth the wait. Ambiance is nice, and it's really hard to find parking in this plaza, as always.

Heard that the Hong Kong cafe had long waits so I had to get this to-go. It's has the classic along with unique dishes to try. Also it's more affordable than most places. Peanut Chung fun (5/5); Perfect appetizer. The peanut was nutty and packed with flavor. Curry tonkatsu (4/5): The pork was super juicy and flavorful. The curry was comforting and seasoned perfectly. My only complaint is that the curry wasn't inside the egg to mix with the rice. That would make this dish perfect. I hope to come but to try other dishes

Pineapple bun with chicken and pork

I got the HK Style Mixed steak which comes with chicken and pork steaks, along with ham and a sausage. For 18$ and the amount of food that it was, it was definitely worth! It also comes with sauce and a bowl of rice on the side. There were different prepped meats like a chicken and pork katsu, regular grilled pork and chicken, and the sauce was slightly sweet and savory. There were a ton of different items on the menu that I wanted try as well. I also got the pineapple bun pork and chicken sandwich which was also pretty solid. Sweet and savory never misses! The pineapple bun was soft and there was a thousand island, almost mayo like sauce as well. It is for sure a different take on the classic HK pineapple bun with butter. I am for sure comin back to try the rest of the items.

    Signature Stir-Fried Beef Ho Fun

Uncle Cha is an affordable cafe with a green and brown interior. Although there are lots of seating inside, it's so popular that people line up early before they even open. I ordered the Signature Stir-Fried Beef Ho Fun through the QR code located on the table. It was a large portion that I couldn't finish, so I took it home to eat later. The ho fun wasn't too oily and had a light taste. It definitely needed more flavor and sauce. The beef was fatty and soft. There was a good amount of vegetables, but too much onions in my opinion. The service was quick and efficient. Make sure to arrive early or else you'll have to wait at least 45 minutes to be seated!

My family has been raving about Uncle Cha so I came on a Friday at 11am BEFORE opening. By the time they opened (11:30AM), there were already a line with 10+ groups. People tend to eat quickly here because by 12:30PM people were still trickling in. I do see people ordering out, so that can be an option. We were seated and ordered through their app. Service from the staff members were excellent. There is an abundance of items in the menu. We enjoyed everything. I must say this is one of the more better HK style restaurants I've had in a while. Way above average in terms of cleanliness. I do appreciate their jade green theme decor. My favorite is their HK style milk puff -- it's extremely sugary.

Cozy lunch/dinner restaurant spot. You order through your phone, and service speed was relatively as expected. It can get very busy during peak hours, so plan accordingly! 5/5 - Hong-Kong Style Baked Combo Pork Chop Rice in Tomato Sauce - Savory and delicious! One of the chef's recommended dishes. The pork was very tender and easy to split and eat. On top of a bed of white rice, it's a well portioned entree that is well seasoned. Nothing too spectacular with the rice, but the pork chop bake was very tasty and shines as the main component of the dish! 3.5/5 - Sizzling Fried Instant Noodle - The meat was the star of this dish, but we weren't that impressed with the noodles itself. The meat is cooked just right, though we could have preferred it a bit more tender. However, it is a cohesive dish, and if you love the instant ramen noodle taste, you will definitely be satisfied by the dish!

Bright, clean space with friendly, efficient service. Ordering's all done through the QR code at the table, which keeps things moving. I had the black pepper satay instant noodles on a hot plate, unagi omurice, imitation shark fin soup, milk tea with grass jelly balls, and the French toast milk puff. The milk tea was great -- strong, smooth, and the grass jelly worked really well. The satay noodles were another favorite, peppery and fun on the sizzling plate. The French toast milk puff was the other standout. The omurice was okay, just wish the egg was runnier and had a bit more of it. Overall, solid meal with a few clear hits. Menu has plenty of options, and I'd go back to try more.

Uncle Cha has been on our list for a while and glad we were able to get in quickly on a weekday late lunch ~1:40 pm. The space is delightful; service was fast and friendly. Pricing was reasonable. We ordered the top dishes mentioned by other Yelpers, and here's my take: - Satay beef instant noodles on a hot plate - my favorite of this meal. A simple dish that's nostalgic and tasty. - Milk stuff french toast - A fun dish and also tasty and not too sweet! I'd order again. - Milk tea with grass jelly balls - My hubby had this and he liked it! - Fake sharks fin soup - Had a good amount of ingredients but the broth itself was a bit blend for my liking; the red vinegar topping helps. - Omurice with unagi: fusion-y, yes, but rather what I expect of Japanese Omurice, it's basically an egg over white rice, with a few pieces of unagi on the side. Not my fav. Overall, it was a delightful experience and we'd visit again.

Concept is cute and vibey, but food was just decent. I loved how HK coded this place was. Service was also great! I ordered the seafood rice and shared the pineapple bun chicken sandwich. The seafood rice was truly lackluster--nothing worth noting here. But the pineapple bun chicken sandwich was bomb! It almost tasted like McDonald's Mcchicken in the best way possible HAHA curry fish balls was also a hit. Overall not sure if I'd come back again but cool to try!

The line finally died down so we decided to check this place out. I got the curry rice with tonkatsu, and it was super satisfying. The tonkatsu was crispy on the outside, tender inside, and not greasy at all. The curry had a really nice, rich flavor--savory with a little sweetness--and went so well with the rice. We also tried the fish balls, which were actually really good. They had that classic bouncy texture and were covered in this peanut hoisin-type sauce that was slightly sweet and really flavorful. The baked seafood spaghetti was probably one of my favorites. It came out hot with that cheesy, baked top layer, and underneath was creamy and packed with flavor. Definitely that classic HK café comfort dish. We also got a vegetable dish on the side, which was fresh and simple--nice to have something lighter with all the richer food. I think it was called snow peas? I'm not sure. Service was friendly and attentive, and the food came out pretty quickly. The vibe inside is casual and cozy--nothing fancy, but comfortable and easy to just sit down and enjoy a meal. We took some food to-go and it came in these blue fancy and sturdy to-go bags.

Beef brisket rice rolls & Singapore-style curry rice noodles

I soooo wanted to love this place, but I think the overhype on social media plus the neverending lines set the bar too high. I was hoping for a solid Hong Kong-style cafe, but the fusion part of Uncle Cha made everything a little confusing. The ambiance and service is amazing. Clean, bright, green, aesthetic. There aren't too many tables inside, and the tables are pretty close together in an effort to get more people in. There are a lot of workers always on standby to check in and make sure that you have everything you need. The food is where it fell a bit short. We ordered a variety of things, from the pineapple buns to the baked rice to rice rolls to Singapore-style curry noodles. While the food presentation was great, the taste didn't hit the same as other HK-style cafes. It wasn't terrible, but it also didn't stand out. The pineapple buns were the most disappointing -- crispy and crunchy rather than fluffy and flaky. The drinks, however, were pretty solid. Hong Kong-style milk tea was great, and the pistachio cream coconut water was a great balance of refreshing and rich. I think we're willing to give it another try if there isn't a wait. But waiting more than 40 minutes for mediocre food? Not the vibe, especially when the plaza is packed with other restaurants.

I also really liked the mint beef soup. It tasted like a Chinese take on pho. The spicy garlicky sauce it came with was super yummy too.
