Heard about this place because of its instagramable dishes. We came here on a Saturday around 12pm and waited for 1 hour for our table. We ordered the Cheesy Tamago Bowl with Eel and Beef, HK style Baked Pork Chop over rice and Salted Egg Yolk and Pork Floss Pineapple Bun. Overall, dishes are on the smaller side and it was lacking on flavor. The baked pork chop and rice proportions are a little off there's more pork chop and sauce than rice. The tamago didn't really taste like much but the beef was good. The pineapple buns were really dry. I don't think it was worth waiting in line for as the food didn't live up to expectations.

This popular Hong Kong-style uncle café in Milpitas is my go‑to spot whenever the cha chaan teng cravings hit. Love their ambiance , is more modern and bright inside. I ordered their Hong Kong milk tea, sizzling instant noodles with beef in satay sauce, and the baked pork chop rice covered in tomato sauce and melted cheese. Added a few extras too -- Thai crispy shrimp ring, milk pudding topped with the Toy Story bear as deco, and Hong Kong-style French toast. Every dish was solid and totally satisfied the craving. A heads‑up: weekends get busy. They only have about 12 tables, so expect a wait. When you arrive, make sure to sign in at the front -- they'll call you when your table is ready. Crave cured. I'll be back.

Wowee! Weekend lunch wait is no joke. Two of my friends and I arrived around 11:50am on a Saturday, 20 minutes post-opening and the wait was already almost an hour. We used their tablet to sign up for the waitlist. Scan the QR code to order at the table once seated. Their decor is a cool light green & gold vibe inside. Our order: *Grass jelly mega ball milk tea *2 HK style Yuanyang coffee/tea *Hong Kong style milk puff *Curry fishball *Salted egg yolk chicken wings *HK Baked pork chop rice in tomato sauce *HK Satay beef stir fry instant noodle *Cheesy baked chicken cutlet spaghetti For a while, I thought the grass jelly balls in the milk tea were boba based on social media videos haha but that would take at least an hour to cook. Standard HK style milk tea-- not bad and good for Instagram shots. My friends liked the coffee/tea mix. We ordered too much food and took home leftovers. The beef stir fry noodle had an interesting flavor. So much cheese on the chicken and pork cutlets! One would've been enough for our group. Fishball is a staple to order when it's on the menu. Salted egg yolk chicken wings weren't overly salty so that's a win! The coating was more crumbly rather than saucy. The milk puff toast dessert reminded me of bread pudding. Not super sweet and it seems fun to cut into with all the evaporated/condensed milk flowing out. Very homey and comforting dishes. I recommend trying this place out at least once during non-peak hours, maybe after lunch on a weekday. Staff is courteous and accommodating too.

Went here twice and realized that I have not made a review on this amazing place. GREAT Hong Kong food- has a great selection from curry's to spaghetti. We ordered the pork katsu omurice curry, the beef spaghetti (it is on the sweeter end), pork floss pineapple buns and the phenomenal dessert toast. Never had anything like the toast- it's sooo delish and sweet! On weekends and during dinner time it gets SUPER crowded and the wait is insane so definitely make sure to plan it out before you eat here. We had the privilege of having Kyle as our server- he's super friendly and kind and gave the milk tea to us on the house. Definitely recommend coming here if you're looking for savory, Hong Kong styled cuisines.

The host was very great ensuing the wait time less frustrating by informing us every so often of the wait time. The food itself was upbeat and creative. We almost ordered everything in the menu and can't wait to return. The salty egg yoke was my favorite. Light and crispy, packed with the egg yoke that caramelized around the wings The sizzling beef noodles is a must too. The aromatic comes directly from the grill to your table. It's as fresh as it can be with the "wok hey". The other dishes were scrumptious too. You will not be disappointed.

Came on a weekday for lunch, arrived before they opened around 11:10am and noticed the line got very long by 11:20ish. Recommend coming a bit early if you don't want to wait long. Inside was clean and modern. Staff was friendly. We ordered: Iced lemon tea: not too sweet and perfectly balanced with the tea with a hint of lemon 10/10 Hot hong kong style milk tea: decent tea flavor, not too sweet but I wish it had more of the condensed milk flavor 8/10 Pineapple bun with the chicken and pork cutlet: I liked the chicken cutlet a bit more as it was more tender and juicy but the pork cutlet was pretty good too 9/10 Baked seafood rice with white sauce: this was very disappointing. It was pretty bland so I mostly tasted the cheese on top 4/10 Fried chicken with salted egg yolk: very crispy and lots of salted egg yolk flavor, very yummy 10/10 Overall: food was good except the baked seafood rice. I would come back and try their other baked rice selection

It's hard to believe that this location used to house the institution that was Pepper Lunch but the remodel looks beautiful! The inside is beautiful and organized in a way where it doesn't feel crowded. The staff were friendly and accommodating. We came with a party of 5 a bit earlier around 6pm and had no problem getting in, but the line formed behind us. I have nothing bad to say about the food besides the fact that it was just okay. Uncle's Omurice (although beautifully presented) was lacking in flavor and the tonkatsu pieces were good but a little tough. Dessert was pleasantly surprising. A cute duck sat upon a bed of double skim milk pudding. Refreshing, not too sweet, and the marshmallow duck was delicious too. I sampled a variety of dishes from the table and concluded I might try something different next time. The noodles were quite flavorful and aromatic! Overall, lots of potential and opportunities to try new dishes will give me more insight on the range of flavors.

I came here with a friend for lunch and we had a good time! We got here on a Thursday at around 1, and only had to wait 10 minutes before getting seated. Inside has lots of tables and was nicely decorated with a light green theme. The food came relatively fast, we ordered with the QR code by the side of our table. The food, however, was just fine. Flavor was lacking a bit, the baked pork chop was mostly tomato-ey, but I would love to taste more umami and sweetness. The seafood was very light, but again, needed more flavor. Overall we both had a good time though!

Uncle Cha is located in a plaza with many other restaurants and shops, depending on when you go parking can fill up quickly. The inside is bright and clean with ample space. The service was very quick as you just scan a QR code and order through your phone. The staff comes around often to make sure your water is filled. The unagi was not too salty and very tender with great flavor. The house special satay beef noodle was very good the satay paired well with the broth. The French toast was good and comes filled with peanut butter and a side of condensed milk to drizzle on top. It was a bit more on the sweeter side than savory

Came here right before they opened up for dinner. The parking lot is always packed but to my surprise we got there right in time to get parking in front of the restaurant. There was a small line outside for people to get a dinner table. Fortunately we were able to get a table right away. The staff was very friendly. The restaurant was small but everything looked really clean. They have a huge menu that you can scan a QR code from and order from your phone. Lots of options that offer different types of protein. The food came out one at a time. The food itself was very flavorful and fresh. Tasted very savory. Portion size and prices were right on. Definitely get your money's worth. The restaurant filled up quickly and there was a waitlist. However, we did not feel rushed by the staff which was great. Ill Definitely be coming back here to try some more food.

Typical cha cha tang. There was nothing super special about the food options. Staff was super helpful and friendly. Long wait even for a Thursday afternoon. Not great for large crowds. But i did notice that after the lunch rush around 2pm the crowd thinned out. Everything tasted fine but nothing like as like amazingly good. We would come back if we needed an asian cha cha tang fix.

I stopped by here on Memorial Day seven minutes before doors opened and happened to time the line right before it grew five times in size. If you're not seated in first seating, you'll definitely be waiting a few hours to get your food. Between our party, we shared a bunch of different items. Although social media has been hyping up Uncle Cha non-stop, the food fell short on multiple fronts. The item I was personally most excited about trying was the pineapple bun with pork and chicken cutlet. Like another reviewer pointed out, many in my party did not enjoy the texture of the pineapple bun. The expectation was that the pineapple bun would be soft and fluffy but it was far too crispy, and tasted almost a bit too dry, or possibly stale. The meat inside was cooked well, and I liked the honey mustard in one of the buns, but the bun itself was a miss. For the sizzling pepper beef over spaghetti, the dish was too salty, had too much cornstarch added, and was not peppery enough. With the unagi plate with tornado egg, the egg was silky, glistening, and very pretty to look at atop of the mount of rice, but there was simply not enough of it. The unagi was fine, but tasted no different than the ones you pick-up next door from the freezer section at Ranch 99 and re-heat in an oven. Lastly, for the baked pork chop, there was not enough tomato flavor in the sauce. While service was quick, attentive and efficient, the food here was honestly a bit mid and is not worth waiting hours in line for. Don't trust everything you see on social media.

Finally checked out Uncle Cha Fusion Cafe! I've been seeing all the hype online and hearing about the crazy lines, so I had to see what it was all about. You definitely need to get here early because the wait gets long fast. I came before they opened and was able to get seated immediately when they opened. The menu has a lot of fun, unique HK cafe-style dishes. For my own meal, the standouts were definitely the baked pork chop rice and the HK toast (the milk puff). The baked rice hit the perfect comfort food spot, and the toast was delicious. However, I also tried the pineapple bun with salted egg yolk and pork floss, and it was unfortunately pretty dry. I'd probably skip that one next time. Overall, it's a really solid spot with great flavors! That said, while the food is good, I personally wouldn't wait longer than an hour to eat here. If you can catch them on a day when the line isn't too crazy, it's definitely worth a visit!

After reading through some reviews, I decided to order the bone marrow fried rice, and this was easily the highlight. I'd definitely order it again next time. It came with a generously sized bone marrow bone with plenty of marrow inside. I immediately scooped it all out, broke it up, and mixed it into the fried rice, which made every bite incredibly rich, savory, and indulgent in the best way possible. Their take on bò né, on the other hand, could be a hit or miss depending on your expectations. Unfortunately, this one was a miss for me. I appreciate the creativity behind their fusion version, but I didn't feel like the changes necessarily elevated the original dish. The meat also wasn't as tender or juicy as I would've liked. It wasn't a terrible dish by any means, but despite how interesting and tasty it looks in photos, it's probably not something I'd recommend or order again. Overall, I'd definitely come back to explore more of the menu. They offer a lot of unique and creative dishes that you don't typically see elsewhere, and the bone marrow fried rice alone was good enough to make me want to return. Next time, I'd skip the bò né and use the stomach space to try a few more of their specialties!
