One of the best things I've experienced is eating at Yoshi Sushi and eating the Love Tray. First off, plenty of parking inside the plaza and also wasn't busy on a Wed evening. It's a QR code to order your meal and the service was very quick. Our water cup was also kept full. It's very bright and welcoming inside and comfortable seating throughout. Onto the food, my friend and I ate with our eyes, lol. The Kaisen box was so delicious and the assortment of fish and crab tasted fresh. The star of the show was the Love Tray. The rolls came out first and each one was delectable. Good portion of rice to fish ratio. The nigiri and the sashimi came next and the beautiful range of fish was too pretty to eat! They were tasty and cooked well although no dipping sauce was provided so I ended up just using soy sauce instead. One thing I noticed is that the value doesn't seem to carry over to delivery. When I looked at DoorDash, the bento box listed there didn't include the potstickers or California rolls. Ordering directly through the restaurant's website to get the full meal added about $12 in extra fees which made it much less appealing. Overall, the food was good and the in-person pricing felt reasonable. We picked up takeout from this yoshi, the tonkatsu bento, and three sushi rolls. I ordered through doordash. The order was not ready until 10 min after estimated time, so no rush to get there. Don't sleep on the oysters -- presentation is gorgeous and their toppings coupled with the sweetness of their selected oysters are impeccable. When Flaming Ox closed due to a power outage, we were fortunate to find this place open. My daughter and I sat at the bar, which had a relaxed atmosphere and wasn't busy for a weekday. One of the worst dinner experiences I've had. We arrived at 8:30 PM, and it took nearly an hour for the majority of our rolls to come out. We were told this was because our orders weren't placed at the same time through the QR code system, which was extremely unprofessional. There's also an automatic 18% gratuity for large parties but felt unreasonable given how poor the service was. It's unclear what the gratuity was actually going toward, as dine-in customers didn't seem to be a priority (vs take out). The food was decent at best, but nothing that stood out or made the wait worthwhile. The total bill came out to roughly $45 per person. At that price, there are far better options. I was craving some sushi & saw this place on DoorDash. I thought, why not. It looked good, had decent reviews and reasonable prices. The Baked mussels had a ton of imitation crab, I'm not sure whether it was supposed to come like that or not. I think due to that, the mussels didn't have much flavor as it was hiding underneath all the crab. I did enjoy the masago on top, it was a nice touch. This would've gone very nicely with some white rice had I known. The fried oysters were pretty good. They came with a mayo- like sauce that was pretty tasty. I asked for lemons that went very well with the oysters and the sauce provided. Lastly, my main reason as to the 3 stars and my main reason for ordering from this restaurant. I ordered the crunchy California roll. It was pretty cheap compared to other sushi places so I'm not too surprised. I ordered this thinking it would be crunchy and taste like your typical California roll. It was quite the opposite, it was very mushy and appeared very undercooked. I've never seen sushi like this. This restaurant is tucked between a Noah's Bagel and dentists office and although there is a big parking lot, it's often busy and parking may be difficult to find. Albeit, I went on a Monday for lunch and the restaurant wasn't terribly busy but had enough patrons that seemed to really enjoy their time. There are no physical menus and instead is a stand with a QR code to order online. Their menu is quite extensive with sushi, skewers, and ramen, rice plates, and more. Ordering was a breeze and the dishes came out promptly. Our server only came by to drop off the dishes and fill our water. If you prefer a more "hands off" / uninterrupted meal then this might be for you. The food was alright- decent and easy, nothing to write home about. My only qualm was that the spicy miso ramen broth was not as flavorful and although did have a kick was quite bland and watery. Rolls were large and filling. Appetizers of tempura and calamari were crispy and not too heavy, which was nice. Tataki tuna slices in the salad were massive! The salad was beautifully refreshing and the cuts were very generous, easily the dish that shone for me. The space is clean and inviting. I'd like to come back and try other rolls + their sashimi!! It looked so beautiful on the menu and in person when a neighboring table ordered it. I went to the Milpitas (McCarthy Ranch area) location a few years ago and have to say this Brokaw location is a huge improvement. Not only is there more space -- the service is fairly quick, everything was clean, the food was plated nicely with good roll sizing, and the menu has an extensive but not overwhelming selection! I can't handle wasabi or horseradish, but the person I came with absolutely loved how fresh the wasabi was here. PARKING: You might have to walk a bit since this plaza is on the smaller side with lots of food/drink spots and a City Sports. We came on a Thursday afternoon and were lucky to find one that was a 1-2min walk away. Either way tho, max walk time for a farther spot I'd say is 4min so you're fine. read more

I only notice, because it's next door to my dentist office. It's on the same strip as Noah's bagels. The parking lot is always crowded, but if you can find a space, there are lots of dining options. I decided to give Yoshi a try after a recent dental cleaning at Cheer Dental. Yoshi's is bright and modern with a full bar on the wall opposite the floor to ceiling windows facing the parking lot. There were a few customers when I walked in, and a few more came after. You use the QR code on the table to order. I tried the Karaage Chicken, Salmon belly nigiri, and Shrimp Tempura Roll (shrimp tempura, crab & avocado). The chicken was in tiny strips and did not taste like the traditional karaage seasonings. I did not enjoy that. The salmon came with a little black tobiko and was lightly charred. Didn't like the texture on those. The roll was okay, but the rice was kind of mushy. I was not impressed with the items I tried. If you are in the area, Yoshi's might be worth checking out, but I wouldn't make a special trip out there to eat at Yoshi's. read more

A solid spot for some pretty good sushi in SJ! We got the Dream Box and Chirashi Don. The Dream Box was absolutely beautiful and featured 9 different dishes curated by the chef. Super generous, thick cuts of fish and really interesting (in a good way!) combinations! No two dishes were the same and it felt like we were taken on a culinary ride. I will note that it was more of a one time treat as it's quite pricey. The Chirashi Don was definitely our favorite! It was packed with rice and so much fish. We came here on a summer night and my family enjoyed the experience here! First impressions: bright, airy and clean restaurant with big booths and nice table settings. For me, ordering with the QR to scan code is a bit confusing, especially when it comes to several diners in your party, it takes away the intimacy of a nice dining experience, I'm not a fan of it in some settings. I can see where it can be convenient but in this dining setting it wasn't. The variety of Yoshi Sushi's menu is large, and ordering from a phone was a bit of a challenge, wifi was slow so it took ages for the page to load or to scroll to the next tab, I'm sure there's areas of the menu I missed on the account of that. Once our order was in, it didn't take long for our food to come out. Beautiful presentation and decent portions. Food was very tasty! The beef teriyaki, chicken teriyaki and saba plate were a solid 5/5. I like that they had brown rice, it was very light and complimented the juicy meat and seafood. Miso soup and ramen soup were sadly a 2/5. Miso soup was chalky and lukewarm. The ramen was basic and the meat was dry. We would skip this next time. After today's takeout order I can officially say I will no longer be a customer. I wanted to like this restaurant but unfortunately I had the runs in the toilet about half an hour after eating the rolls. Even in the past when the fish was not as fresh as I'd like I would look past it and give another chance, but today it must've been super busy since the presentation was also chopped. The late operating hours are appreciated. This place also appeared to be delivery/take-out galore because food delivery drivers kept coming in one after another! That didn't seem to affect my dine-in experience too much though because I received my food within a reasonable time. I still can't figure out if this restaurant is seat-yourself type of place or wait for an employee to take you to a table. Because some other customers that arrived around that same time I did were just standing there and none of us were sure what to do and nobody was greeting us. Anyways, the employees did end up getting everyone seated. Order is placed using the QR code at the table (payment is at the end though). The food was good and I have no complaints.
