I came here with a large party of 10 on a Sunday afternoon and got seated in 5 minutes. The provided water had cucumber and mint inside. We ended up ordering 16 items, and I specifically picked out the Caterpillar Roll to try. The menu is big and had a lot of photos. I really like the vibe of this place. It's very pretty inside, there are a lot of hanging plants, some nice bar stools, and a small fish tank. The takoyaki was hot and good. Edamame was decent. I like the yellowtail roll - I didn't even know that there was jalepeno inside because it was crunchy but not spicy. I liked the caterpillar roll too, I felt like the eel and crab play together well. The Lion King roll had cooked fish but still tasted good. We got a few sashimi salads and they were cool. Finally, the pumpkin roll is super underrated. I didn't think I would've liked it as much as I did. We ended up ordering 4 more items to bring our total to 20. I was satisfied, but not super full. Came here around 1 PM on Sunday and got seated right away! Good amount of seats for dining in :), they also do takeout and are on doordash which is great! For food we ordered the warriors roll which was delicious with the crispy onions. Loved the sauces on top as well too, 9/10! The salmon belly was as fatty as you'd love it. That didn't seem to affect my dine-in experience too much though because I received my food within a reasonable time. I still can't figure out if this restaurant is seat-yourself type of place or wait for an employee to take you to a table. Because some other customers that arrived around that same time I did were just standing there and none of us were sure what to do and nobody was greeting us. I was craving some sushi & saw this place on DoorDash. I thought, why not. It looked good, had decent reviews and reasonable prices. The Baked mussels had a ton of imitation crab, I'm not sure whether it was supposed to come like that or not. I think due to that, the mussels didn't have much flavor as it was hiding underneath all the crab. I did enjoy the masago on top, it was a nice touch. This would've gone very nicely with some white rice had I known. The fried oysters were pretty good. They came with a mayo- like sauce that was pretty tasty. I asked for lemons that went very well with the oysters and the sauce provided. Lastly, my main reason as to the 3 stars and my main reason for ordering from this restaurant. I ordered the crunchy California roll. It was pretty cheap compared to other sushi places so I'm not too surprised. I ordered this thinking it would be crunchy and taste like your typical California roll. It was quite the opposite, it was very mushy and appeared very undercooked. I've never seen sushi like this. This restaurant is tucked between a Noah's Bagel and dentists office and although there is a big parking lot, it's often busy and parking may be difficult to find. Albeit, I went on a Monday for lunch and the restaurant wasn't terribly busy but had enough patrons that seemed to really enjoy their time. There are no physical menus and instead is a stand with a QR code to order online. Their menu is quite extensive with sushi, skewers, and ramen, rice plates, and more. Ordering was a breeze and the dishes came out promptly. Our server only came by to drop off the dishes and fill our water. If you prefer a more "hands off" / uninterrupted meal then this might be for you. The food was alright- decent and easy, nothing to write home about. My only qualm was that the spicy miso ramen broth was not as flavorful and although did have a kick was quite bland and watery. Rolls were large and filling. Appetizers of tempura and calamari were crispy and not too heavy, which was nice. Tataki tuna slices in the salad were massive! The salad was beautifully refreshing and the cuts were very generous, easily the dish that shone for me. The space is clean and inviting. The interior of this place is great, definitely suitable for date nights or a night out with friends. Tables and seats were very clean and they offer a good amount of booth seating! Staff were very friendly and patient with my party. FOOD: *Naked fish roll -- Not my first choice because I let someone else order and I prefer a slab of sashimi to top my rolls, but still a good filler that wasn't overloaded with sauce like so many other places nowadays :) If you like tempura but still want some veg, this is the roll for you. Spicy tuna could use a bit more of a kick, but overall still tasted fresh. This roll is filling w/o being too hearty and smt about the way they prep the green onion just hits different lol. I'd like to come back and try other rolls + their sashimi!! It looked so beautiful on the menu and in person when a neighboring table ordered it. I went to the Milpitas (McCarthy Ranch area) location a few years ago and have to say this Brokaw location is a huge improvement. Not only is there more space -- the service is fairly quick, everything was clean, the food was plated nicely with good roll sizing, and the menu has an extensive but not overwhelming selection! I can't handle wasabi or horseradish, but the person I came with absolutely loved how fresh the wasabi was here. PARKING: You might have to walk a bit since this plaza is on the smaller side with lots of food/drink spots and a City Sports. We came on a Thursday afternoon and were lucky to find one that was a 1-2min walk away. Either way tho, max walk time for a farther spot I'd say is 4min so you're fine. read more

I only notice, because it's next door to my dentist office. It's on the same strip as Noah's bagels. The parking lot is always crowded, but if you can find a space, there are lots of dining options. I decided to give Yoshi a try after a recent dental cleaning at Cheer Dental. Yoshi's is bright and modern with a full bar on the wall opposite the floor to ceiling windows facing the parking lot. There were a few customers when I walked in, and a few more came after. You use the QR code on the table to order. I tried the Karaage Chicken, Salmon belly nigiri, and Shrimp Tempura Roll (shrimp tempura, crab & avocado). The chicken was in tiny strips and did not taste like the traditional karaage seasonings. I did not enjoy that. The salmon came with a little black tobiko and was lightly charred. Didn't like the texture on those. The roll was okay, but the rice was kind of mushy. I was not impressed with the items I tried. If you are in the area, Yoshi's might be worth checking out, but I wouldn't make a special trip out there to eat at Yoshi's. read more

A solid spot for some pretty good sushi in SJ! We got the Dream Box and Chirashi Don. The Dream Box was absolutely beautiful and featured 9 different dishes curated by the chef. Super generous, thick cuts of fish and really interesting (in a good way!) combinations! No two dishes were the same and it felt like we were taken on a culinary ride. I will note that it was more of a one time treat as it's quite pricey. The Chirashi Don was definitely our favorite! It was packed with rice and so much fish. We came here on a summer night and my family enjoyed the experience here! First impressions: bright, airy and clean restaurant with big booths and nice table settings. For me, ordering with the QR to scan code is a bit confusing, especially when it comes to several diners in your party, it takes away the intimacy of a nice dining experience, I'm not a fan of it in some settings. Once our order was in, it didn't take long for our food to come out. Beautiful presentation and decent portions. Food was very tasty! The beef teriyaki, chicken teriyaki and saba plate were a solid 5/5. I like that they had brown rice, it was very light and complimented the juicy meat and seafood. Miso soup and ramen soup were sadly a 2/5. Miso soup was chalky and lukewarm. The ramen was basic and the meat was dry. We would skip this next time. The host seemed unhappy didn't even welcome us. Sushi didn't taste fresh. If not enough people eat here the fish will go bad fast so maybe that's what happened. They can't afford opening a new fish if not enough customers come. Also do not come here for online order. They take extra 30 minutes and they give no damn you're waiting. Skip this place. My fave takeout sushi spot! The fish is always fresh and a perfect ratio. I have never dined in however the staff is always kind when I order and pickup. My family usually gets an assortment of rolls, my favorite being the mango crunch roll. We usually get a few different rolls to share from: dragon roll, yellowtail jalapeño, tuna avocado, tekka maki.
