Recently noticed they received a 73 health inspection score. Really, Sushi Heaven? So disappointing to see their health inspection score drop to a 73 when they used to consistently score in the 90s. We've enjoyed coming here for years, but it is concerning, especially for a sushi restaurant. What happened? Our five year old twins love sushi. This spot is walking distance from our home so on a Sunday night after I taught swimming for 9 years my husband and I decided to try it ( with the twins of course). The place was full but not packed we were greeted and seated immediately. The menu is huge and everything looked delicious. The boys ordered lemonade and I got a glass of wine ( highly recommend getting a glass of wine they have a very generous pour) my husband had ice tea. The drinks came fast which is always a bonus with kids. We ordered food and that came super fast too! The twins got chicken teriyaki dinner and a red dragon roll. They devoured their food. I ordered two rolls and was able to eat maybe 3 or 4 pieces before the twins finished my sushi off. It was delicious the waitress was so nice and amazing with the boys. The following Sunday we decided to go back again and this time the place was packed it was alive with noise and laughter even so we were seated immediately and the waitress remembered us! She even knew the boys names. It was at that moment I decided that this place was going to be our spot. You can tell they totally care about their customers and take so pride in their food. This has been our go-to local Japanese restaurants since well before Covid, and they never fail to satisfy. I wouldn't exactly call it authentic, as most of the employees appear to be Chinese, but the Katsu and sushi is tasty, the tempura hot and crispy and I would say the value for money makes this one of the better Japanese restaurants in the area. Very attentive wait staff and this place runs like clockwork on the weekends where there is rarely much of a wait despite it getting very crowded... Only thing I don't like about this place is the Teriyaki. Ugh. The sauce is kinda syrupy and has none of the subtle tang that real teriyaki sauces have... its runny and a bit tasteless, which is a shame because the fish, chicken, or beef they pour it over is actually pretty nice. Would be great if they fixed this as it is the only flaw we have ever found in their offerings! We do recommend this place and we go there often. Maybe we'll see you there! read more

Sushi Heaven is not traditional Japanese, and has a variety of rolls that are fun to choose from and also has great bento boxes.
