They roast their own beans; they use JJ Coffee Craft beans, sourced from Guatemala, and roasted in Berkeley. There is one bummer: They no longer let people go up to the second floor; it's used for storage. They get all of their pastries from Satura Cakes, except for the gluten free Pistachio/rose cake. 4/5: The Japanese souffle cheesecake is good. Let it warm up to room temperature; the mild flavor comes through better. 3/5: The aztec mocha has good flavor, but there is bad flavor release; it probably works better with fat-free milk. 1/5: They made a mistake with my macchiato. It was very cold. I think they forgot to steam the milk.

It was a nice and breezy day, and the outdoor seating was slightly covered so it was a perfect place to be to enjoy the sun. The coffee was alright, it wasn't anything to write home about. I stopped in after lunch on a quiet Monday for a Gibraltar. It was a warm and sunny January day and the outdoor patio was quite crowded, however I was able to find a seat at a common table. My Gibraltar was perfect temperature and a nice balance of the acidity from the espresso with the creaminess of the milk. The team greeted me upon entry and politely asked if I could give them a minute to wrap up a previous order, and my drink came out pretty quickly. I did not try a bakery retreat this time, but they normally have a nice election of baked goods delivered daily.
This place has a wabi-sabi minimalist aesthetic. It's artisanal gallery-chic and I love the handcrafted elements and decors. They don't have a parking lot, so it's all street parking. I got a hojicha latte, and it was lightly sweetened.

I've visited this cafe a few times, mainly ordering the Charcoal latte and the Mascarpone toast. All the baristas have been friendly and helpful each time. The Charcoal latte has a nice balance to the flavor, not overpowering or powdery at all. The Mascarpone toast is very lightly sweet, the cream is airy. The fruit is quite sweet, but I guess it depends on the season as well. They have a decent variety of drinks and food on the menu. Honestly, a perfect stop for the spring and summer!

Very close to Hakone gardens and at the tail end of big basin way downtown road, is Sue's gallery cafe tucked in magically... The ambiance is super upbeat and bright. I've been there only once but would love to go back again. Their menu is very different from the other bay area coffee shops that included charcoal, Aztec latte etc., There was outdoor and indoor seating. Looked like there's seating upstairs but it was closer when I visited them. We ordered a charcoal latte, chocolate croissant and a mocha. The charcoal latte was earthy and flavorful. I loved it. But be ready to get your lips tinted Their crockery collection is very artistic as well!
Stopped by Sue's Gallery Cafe with a few friends for the first time in years, and they have since expanded to include a lot of sitting room both indoors and outdoors for people to work and study! The line was short, and the wait for our drinks was less than ten minutes. There's not much parking in the Saratoga Downtown, however, especially on the weekend before Halloween. We tried their Yuzu Tea, Iced Caramel Latte, London Fog, and Vanilla Latte. All these drinks were delicious, with my favorite being the London Fog for its not too strong earl grey tea taste and the Yuzu Tea for it being bright, refreshing, and having the right amount of citrus sweetness. The cafe had a cozy and artful vibe, and their staff was friendly and provided a welcoming atmosphere!
Finally got to come back here after so many years! I just remember there were long lines and sometimes a wait to snag a table. Luckily we came during Saratoga classic car Sunday and i think it deters people since they can't park on the street so luckily less people than normal. Learned that their bakery items are from Sakura bakery which i really like! I got the hojicha latte no sugar, avocado toast, and pistachio rose gluten free cake. The hojicha latte is the best ive tried so far! So good even without sugar, smooth but still a deep toasted taste and not grainy. The pistachio rose cake was nice and rosey and generous. Really liked the avocado toast with a nice balsamic sauce. Overall def recommend and want to come back to try more of their drinks and bakery items!! read more

This is an alright spot to get your coffee fix in the Saratoga area. We wanted some coffee before our morning hike and found this spot nearby. They have plenty of outdoor seating at their front patio, which is perfect since we had our pups with us. Service was friendly and our drinks were ready in a timely manner despite it being busy. I ordered the Iced Aztec Mocha and it was alright, nothing special, but provided the coffee fix I needed. Overall, this is a decent spot if you're looking for a local coffee shop in the area. I wouldn't go out of my way for it, but if I find myself in Saratoga area, I'll consider them as a possible option. read more

Still a great spot. Came here on a Saturday afternoon. Bustling with patrons. Dog friendly, beautiful ceramics to look at in the gallery portion of the cafe. We ordered drinks for friends; matcha latte is my favorite. They did a great job putting light ice (we forgot to ask but it was done anyway). My husband got a cortado - he said it was good, on the stronger side. read more

Finally tried a new cofffr shop in the Saratoga area! I wasn't sure what to order but the employees insisted on their matcha ube latte and I was convinced! My friends and likes our drinks and the area was definitely super cute! Nice area from walks and to take your dog too. Everyone was friendly as well. read more
Incredible experience at Sue's! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by a friendly person at the counter eager to take my order and in such positive spirit. Then I went over to pick up my drink and the lady making it was just as warm, positive and friendly. The service is top notch! I really enjoyed my cappuccino. It was definitely one of the best I've ever had! My friend and I enjoyed the almond croissant and ham and cheese croissant (pro tip: get the warmed up!) The ambiance is nice too, there is a section for seating both inside and outside. Check them out! read more
There is so much work space here, it is almost unbelievable. Charcoal latte was unique but gritty, although I should've completely expected it. I got it with a shot of espresso that didn't really taste super strongly, but it does come free of charge with this drink if you want it. Their offerings lean a little more expensive and it is a bit diabolical to charge for whole milk... The other drinks and food both look delicious and there is plenty of street parking nearby, as well as a couple of lots. read more

Came here on a Friday afternoon for a little pick me up, place is really cute and there's space to sit outside on a nice day. They look like they have some really good pastries. I ordered a pumpkin spice latte with oat milk and it was amazing. It's kind of expensive ($8) tbh but I guess that's normal in downtown Saratoga. They are super quick to bring out the order and the staff is pretty nice too! read more

Such a lovely, quaint cafe nested in downtown Saratoga. The iced Aztec Mocha was absolutely delicious, with the perfect balance of chocolate and spice. Our party also enjoyed the ube matcha and classic lattes. If you're ever in the area, I would definitely recommend a stop here for a sweet treat and afternoon pick me up. Absolutely loved this quaint cozy hidden spot in downtown Saratoga. It's split into two sides (one to order food and drinks, and one with tables for studying and doing work!) The drinks and food although are a bit on the more expensive side, the ambiance of the study space is definitely worth it. Came here on an afternoon to get some work and reading done and there were plenty of tables with free wifi! They had some light jazz playing in the background and with the sun shining in, my stress just went out the window. My ube milk with a shot of espresso was smooth and was the perfect amount of sweet. Their toast was ok but the earl gray spread was the highlight. Will definitely be back again to hang out and relax! read more

Drinks here are always amazing and served in cute ceramic cups + a wooden tray! My favorite is their ube matcha, not too sweet and the perfect amount of creaminess + froth. The baristas are super kind and work really quickly. One of my favorite things about Sue's is the ambiance. It's at the end of downtown Saratoga, so it's a bit quieter and closer to the Mountains. You can get a great view of the greenery and inside has nice ceramic displays. If you want an indoor seat, I'd recommend coming here early on weekends if not the weekdays. read more

Visited twice and so far I really LOVE here! Drinks and cakes were ok, delicious, giving a pure taste of what food should be tasting w/o too many addictive! Staffs are friendly, products comes out quick, usually just takes me couple mins after pay, the outdoor environment are so GOOD. Quiet and safe neighborhood with so much green plantations. Good for both meet up with friends or working alone. Could be little busy during weekend noons, but don't see a problem grabbing seat. Will definitely come back read more

The charcoal latte at Sue's Gallery Cafe is quite interesting and unique. I actually enjoyed it. However, the Ube Charcoal wasn't great because the flavors blended together in a strange way. The matcha cream puff was delicious though a bit on the sweeter side. The cafe itself is spacious and has a very comfortable environment. It is a chill and cozy spot perfect for studying. read more

It was first time here. It was easy to find street parking although I can see how it would be more challenging on a weekend seeing that the cafe is at the end of the main street right before it turns. There were plenty of places to sit inside and outside. There were quite a number of people doing work on their laptops but still empty seats to find. Dogs aren't allowed inside when you order, but I saw a number of them outside with their owners. I visited on a Monday late morning and the woman at the register recommended the charcoal latte and the avocado toast to go with it. I actually liked the charcoal latte; it had a sweet taste to it. She asked if I wanted it less sweet but I said to keep it the way it's normally made. The avocado toast also complimented it really well. They call out your name when your drink and food is ready and the lattes are in this cute ceramic cup. They filled it to the brim so I had to carefully carry it to my table outside and go back for my food. People behind the counter were really friendly as well. I'd go back to try the other lattes and toasts. read more

It's a nice little cafe in downtown Saratoga , pretty popular with young adults and teenagers . We tried the Americano that was pretty good (the mugs are beautiful ) and the cold vanilla latte which was good as well and not too sweet . Recommended ! read more

Another lovely visit to Sue's Cafe. This time I tried the Aztec Mocha and then got another Vanilla cream puff. I can't NOT get a cream puff - they're the BEST. The iced Aztec mocha was good, I just wish it wasn't as sweet or as heavy of an oat milk flavor. I think next time I'd get my classic hot matcha or try another new iced drink! read more
