Came here on a Saturday afternoon and it was packed. Long line to order, but it felt worth the wait. The shop is very cute and right in a great downtown area. Super lively energy inside. They have a huge specials board plus a seasonal menu, which made ordering tempting. I got the blackberry pie latte and it was amazing. Coffee forward with great flavor. The blackberry pie note was subtle, not overpowering, and worked really well. Would definitely come back to try more. read more

Walking around downtown Los Gatos, I stumbled upon Great Bear Coffee and decided to check them out. It is a nice, clean, spacious cafe. They have inside and outdoor seating. The customer service is so outgoing and friendly! I ordered their Famous Triple C drink! What is that? *Chocolate Coffee Cream: A perfect blend of Coffee, Ghirardelli Chocolate Vanilla Ice cream, topped with real whipped cream (like a milkshake) (4/5). Had the opportunity to grab a few drinks here for the family during the annual holiday parade. This little coffee shop was run efficiently while still providing a warm and cozy laid back feel! My husbands been on this journey to find the best mocha and this place is definitely a contender! The highlight of this shop is how you can see the baristas whipping up their own whip cream behind the counter-fresh! I loved how they just scoop a dollop on top of your drink vs using the spray canisters! Makes me want to go out of my way to buy drinks that come topped with whipped cream when ever I order from them! A cute coffee shop right in the middle of downtown Los Gatos. They have a lot of seasonal drinks which is so fun- every time I go I order a different one to stay festive. Good atmosphere and working environment. They have a lot of seating so there are plenty of people sitting on their laptops or just hanging out. It's only a coffee shop, not a bakery, so they don't have a huge variety of baked goods. Still, one of my favorite coffee shops in the area! read more

Tried the Chocolate Coffee Cream or as they like to call it CCC, and it was delicious. It is more like a milkshake than a coffee drink, so if you drink it like that, it's wonderful. The staff was nice and friendly. Ambiance is nice as well. read more

They have all your standard coffee drinks and a HUGE selection of Monin syrups (including sugar free options). Friendly staff although they messed up our order, but it wasn't a huge deal. I live this place I always visit here when I'm in Los Gatos. There frozen hoy chocolate is a definite must try is you have a sweet tooth! And the whipped cream here is home made and AMAZING! I can't believe I waited so long to try this coffee place. I was just really in the mood for a pumpkin spice latte and wanted to try a local shop so I stopped by here. I had a hot pumpkin pie latte and it was delicious. It was one of the best Pumpkin drinks I've had this year. It was really spacious inside, and was quite busy, but not that difficult to find a seat as people don't stay too long. Since it was a weekday so parking was a breeze. I will be coming back more often. read more

Great Bear Coffee has always reminded me of a coffee shop out of a Hallmark movie because of its cozy ambiance. This time, I visited on a Friday (late) morning and found them pretty busy. Luckily, I barely had to wait to order. They had a bunch of seasonal flavors, so I asked the friendly girl at the counter for her favorites. I chose the Maple Spice Cold Brew she had recommend, with Polar Bear Foam. I also ordered the Greek Artichoke Quiche, and ask for it warmed up. Service was pretty quick, and my coffee and food came out at the same time. I managed to snag one of the few available indoor tables. The Maple Spice Cold Brew wasn't bad, but it sadly wasn't very flavorful. I would probably get a different drink next time. The quiche was tasty though, and very filling. Overall, my favorite aspect of this coffee shop was definitely the warm, comfortable ambiance. Would return to try other items though! read more

The rumors are true, the CCC is everything and more! Service was quick on a fairly busy Sunday morning. The CCC is so darn good- like a chocolate milkshake but somehow light and not too sweet or heavy. I split it with my sister and it was the perfect little treat while browsing downtown and the farmers market. It rings up just shy of $8, so a bit pricey but I'd definitely get it again when in the area and want to treat myself. read more

This is a lovely coffee shop with an inviting atmosphere. The interior showcases the work of local artists on the walls, which rotates regularly, presenting something new to brighten up the place each month. Service was great, and there was hardly a wait to order on a Monday afternoon during a holiday weekend. Pastries and cookies can be picked up from the display case, and hot food along with drinks took 5-10 minutes after we ordered. The iced mocha and cardamom rose iced green tea were refreshing, with great flavor. The oatmeal chocolate cookie and banana chocolate chip loaf tasted homemade, with lots of chocolatey goodness mixed in to satisfy my sweet tooth. The potato, egg, green chile, and cheese burrito was a bit on the small side, but stuffed with tasty ingredients and quite filling. We enjoyed our treats in the outdoor patio, and parking was free and easy a block away, near the Los Gatos Town Plaza Park. read more

I've stopped by a few times and can definitely their Triple C is somewhat of a rite of passage for the kids around here. I've always been recommended that drink by locals who grew up here and can definitely see it being a spot for the town. It seems like a great place to do some catching up with old friends or some overdue work. It has almost a woodsy, cabin feel which takes you out of the busy streets of downtown los gatos. While the coffee is still good, the prices are humorously ludicrous. However, what makes the whole experience worse are the people that work there. The word "rude" just does not capture the essence of the lack of anticipated professionalism you'd expect from an icon such as this. Great local coffee shop - been coming here for 30 years! Only complaint is their WiFi is really limited. Service was down at home so I decided to get a coffee and lunch at the Great Bear and make it my office for an hour or two - unfortunately the WiFi seems to only be able to handle 5-6 users!! Great bear is found on one of the main roads through Los Gatos. Park in the back and come through that way to avoid a lot of traffic. Tried the chocolate coffee cream, rose iced coffee, and a berry iced tea. Chocolate coffee cream-- real whip cream and v thick and generous with the serving of it. The milkshake itself is also really good. Definitely a nice treat. Rose iced coffee -- also good and not too sweet Berry iced tea -- refreshing and not super sweet which is always nice. read more

My son and I recently stopped at Great Bear Coffee for a cuppa -- and were amazed on all levels. The ambiance, the art, the free dog biscuits -- and especially, the coffee were all wonderful. And the service was great too. I ordered a Latte was made by a male barista, using Osos Blend coffee. I kid you not -- it was the best latte I've had -- ever. Extremely rich yet smooth. I bought a pound of the Osos Blend and he offered to grind the beans. My son ordered the Pumpkin Spice Latte and loved it. I tasted it - and it was great (and I don't generally like 'flavored' coffee). We also got some food -- some sort of a burrito -- which was good. The coffee? Was amazing imo. If you want a great cup of coffee/latte -- give it a shot. read more
