I came here with two friends for dinner on a Saturday evening. We were seated immediately at 6:30 PM, and noticed more groups come in around 7. We ordered with our stomachs, so ended up getting the following skewers: chicken heart, chicken skin, chicken cartilage, chicken gizzard, beef tendon, beef, pork belly, and lamb. We also got an order of ham trotter, grilled squid, two orders of the cucumber, two apple/kale juice, and a strawberry boba. As mentioned, the food is all seasoned the same so taste doesn't very much. I'm weak to spicy foods and didn't find the food spicy at all but flavorful. The apple/kale juice is good and with the cucumbers are a good deviation from the flavor of the meats. The meats were all good. The ham trotter I'd recommend a second glove (it comes with one) or a fork and a knife. Service was attentive and good, and the restaurant was clean and well organized. The only issue we ran into was that the griddle thing they put the skewers on was not hot even with both candles going, so I felt like I was eating warm skewers most of the time. I'd come back but only if I had a serious hankering!
First time I've ever gone to a Chinese BBQ Skewer place. Went with some friends during their grand opening where they had storewide discounts. Everyone places orders on their phone on their website, sharing the table menu. It can get hectic with everyone placing their own orders, and by the end of everything we think we may have received more skewers than we paid for but it was hard to tell. Overall their beef and lamb are the best ones. Price wise it's decent. In my opinion everything tasted the same because they were all loaded with the same spices. No adjustments to the seasoning is offered so if your spice tolerance is low you may have a hard time here.
TIME: came here around 7:30, didn't get seated about probably 7:45 or so, the restaurant was full at the time, and this was on a saturday night. PLACE: the place was pretty big and the parking is kind of eh if it is a really busy time. you also order through a QR code on the table. FOOD: i don't really remember what we specifically got, but we got fish, steamed buns, corn, asparagus, pork, lamb, and beef. all had the same seasoning which made it unique to what chinese bbq is but it's not particularly my favorite in my opinion, but if you really like chinese bbq this place would be optimal. OVERALL: chinese bbq isn't my favorite but this place is cheap and nice, my favorite out of everything. would be the steamed buns and it makes the savoriness of the seasoning and meat tie down with everything.
What a cute place! And they have very nice, friendly wait staff. The food was pretty good - not the best Chinese bbq I've had, but it was solid. As someone who's only had this a few times, this restaurant goes lighter on flavor. And everything comes with spice - so if you've can't take spice, this will be a tough place to eat at. Maybe because they're so busy, but some of the dishes were overcooked or not grilled nicely. Highlights: Any tofu or bean curd dish Fish tofu Stinky tofu Eggplant Bean curd noodles Takoyaki THEIR DESSERTS! Omg, cream filled balls and custard filled rice cakes. This was by far the tastiest part of the meal. All in all, I would return but only if there's no wait - and maybe just for tofu and dessert.
Had such a great experience at Hearth BBQ! The Apple & Kale Fiber Fruit Drink was surprisingly refreshing and honestly one of my favorite drinks here. The sweet and sour chicken rack was so flavorful and unique!! I wasn't expecting it to be this good! Usually I'm used to the ones that are super spicy! The chicken cartilage skewers had the perfect crispy texture!! Everything came out fresh, and the skewers were grilled perfectly. Definitely recommend checking this place out if you're craving great BBQ. I'll definitely be back!

The lamb, beef, and pork were all so tender, juicy, and flavorful without being overwhelming - I'd recommend the stinky tofu dish, it was extremely crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside EDIT: down to 4 stars, the service was very slow now. Even when we waved down the workers to ask them to check our last remaining skewers, they seemingly forgot and we waited even longer. We had to wave them down again which was difficult because no one was walking around our area! I understand they are overwhelmed but lots of people were waiting for tables as well
We were seated right away since all of our party was here. It was a busy place with lively music and the servers were very helpful and made sure our water glasses were filled. The skewered food was delicious and very tasty. We ordered various options. Be sure to let them know you placed an order so the servers know to look out for your order. The food came out quick and so tender. I suggest asking for any additional dipping sauce. It was a good experience

Hidden away like a secret speakeasy, this Chinese BBQ spot feels super authentic and gives off great late-night vibes. You walk past a simple front and step into a cozy room filled with the smell of cumin and charcoal. Honestly, the lamb skewers here are the best. They have a great mix of meat and fat that gets nicely charred on the grill. Grab a cold beer to go with them and you are all set.
First time here and I am guessing it's their soft opening. It's rare to see a bbq skewer place that has takoyaki on the menu...that was a plus, the taste & texture was absolutely delicious. We ordered a variety of food like lamb, beef, chicken skin, chicken heart, pork belly, chicken gizzard, chicken cartilage, pork intestine skewers. We also got the smashed cucumber to ease up on the spices and helps cleanse the palate and ease on digestion. We got the grilled scallops, two orders of it because it was so damn good. And lastly the whole large squid, my friend pointed out that it could use a bit more seasoning or sauce to it as all the sauce were directly at the tentacles. Service was fast & very attentive in getting orders out as quickly as possible. Overall we had a great experience and looking forward to coming back.

Hearth was just soft opened days ago replacing a predecessor in the same premises. We decided to try it out as we always liked BBQ food. Food was ok. Bbq items lacked cumin flavor. The version of the spice mix I liked requires a good balance of pepper, cumin and sugar. Place was stylishly designed in soft color hues, clean, spacious and comfortable. New amenities. Bathroom was also clean. Service was polite and friendly. Order however was a bit disorganized. We had a couple of orders that didn't show up; at the end we canceled them. With that, I still recommend to give this place a try as right now they offer discount in the whole month to establish customer base.
Skewers heaven! They have a variety of skewer selection and other dishes. I like that they are flavorful but not heavy on the sauces and not burnt char. It tastes clean and the meats they used are decent quality. They do love garlic. A lot of the items we ordered have garlic on them. The service was fast. We got our food at a decent wait time. The staff was also on top of things - bringing the food, refilling drinks, and taking out empty plates. The place is also open late until 11:30 so it's a good place to hangout with friends after 9pm. They have beers and soju to complement the skewers. The place is well lit and has a lot of tables and seating. The price is reasonable. Will definitely go back! read more

I have been craving BBQ skewers since we haven't had it in a while. After doing an online search we decided to check out the new spot Hearth BBQ. We arrived on a Sunday early evening for dinner. Hearth BBQ is located in a nice busy Asian plaza in San Jose off De Anza Blvd and close to the 85 freeway exit. Parking is accessible in the large parking lot outside. The Chinese BBQ restaurant has nice simple modern decor. There are plenty of tables and booths for dining for both small and big groups. I find the atmosphere to be welcoming and bustling. You can order your food using the QR code. A tip I suggest is to ask the server if they received your order as the system might not get it. We ordered lamb skewers, signature beef skewers, grilled chicken heart, signature grilled shrimp, grilled green beans, sizzling whole large squid, white rice, grilled chicken skin, a bottle of soju and a draft beer. Everything was delicious. My favorites were the lamb skewers, beef skewers, and the large squid. The meat was tender and flavorful. The large squid was seasoned well and had big portions. Overall we enjoyed our experience at Hearth BBQ. The staff were nice and accommodating. The vibe was family friendly and breezy. We took advantage of the August discount promotion for your meal if you share your experience on social media which was nice. Hearth was an amazing experience! We came here around 9 PM after dinner because we were looking for something light, and the skewers were the perfect choice. I don't eat spicy food, so I really appreciated that the staff was able to accommodate my request. My favorites were the chicken skin and pork skewers--they were flavorful, well-cooked, and exactly what I was craving. We also ordered the cucumber side dish, which was a little saltier than expected, but it paired well with the meats. We tried the chicken feet as well, and just a heads-up for anyone ordering them: they are extremely spicy by default. The pepperoncini packs a serious punch, so be prepared if you're sensitive to heat! Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely come back for the skewers. read more

The squid is flavorful and tender, the lamb has a great cumin flavor, and the beef tastes amazing right off the grill. Even the cabbage is well-seasoned and delicious! That said, the stinky tofu and pork aorta could use a bit more sauce to really soak in the flavor. The staff provides excellent service, and the restaurant's modern, minimalist decor makes for a very comfortable dining experience. read more

Soft opening week! Went on the first day and it was 22% off. Inside is nicely remodeled and very spacious! Staff was attentive and very observant. Our food took a bit to come out but everything came out very hot, so I assumed it is fresh off their grill. Seasoning was perfectly spicy for me, and all the meats were tender!
