The wait for my order was just 5 minutes, my items secured neatly in the bag and ready to go. The guy even informed me that he included different sauces, and offered disposable utensils and tableware. Got the 2-meat combo with pork ribs and burnt ends, baked potato, mac n cheese, and cornbread by request (otherwise it comes with garlic bread by default). Everything was cooked perfectly and packed with flavor, both the meats and the sides. I enjoyed every single item. The portions were generous as well. Very disappointed with the portions and customer service We've been coming here at least once or twice a month because we genuinely love the BBQ. We recently started buying the meat by the pound, and unfortunately, we've now had the same issue twice. Last time, we ordered a pound of brisket and a pound of tri-tip. When we got home, the portions seemed unusually small, so we weighed them. Both were under 15 oz. We were disappointed but assumed it was just an isolated mistake. Today, we came back and ordered a pound of brisket and a pound of tri-tip again. Unfortunately, when we got home and weighed them, both portions were under 14 oz. That is a significant difference when you are paying by the pound. I called the restaurant to let them know, and the only response I received was essentially, "Sorry." We are regular customers and really enjoy the food, which makes this especially disappointing. Mistakes can happen, but having the same issue repeatedly and then receiving no meaningful response when bringing it to the restaurant's attention is not acceptable. If you're ordering meat by the pound, I strongly recommend checking the weight before leaving or as soon as you get home. At these prices, customers should receive the amount they are paying for. Great food is not enough if regular customers don't feel they are being treated fairly. Solid Q in Mountain View. Lots of things seemed familiar to me, and I go and find out that they are part of a huge BBQ chain/family but each location has a different name. I've been to 3 others Redwood City BBQ, South Winchester BBQ (San Jose), and Canyon's BBQ (Castro Valley) and I've reviewed most of those quite favorably, except for 1. But they have about 4 others that I haven't been but are on my list. I guess now I'll know they are more the same than they are different. I knew walking in that I was going to like it. A strong aroma of wood smoke hugs you upon entering. A cool mural outside, lots of beers and bbq on the tables, cool tunes that was all over the place genre wise. 2 Meat Combo ($26/4.5*) Crazy solid combo. Not as juicy as I would prefer but between the perfect smoke content and their seasoning just makes me happy enough. Brisket: Their brisket is awesome. Not as juicy as some of the top notch places here in the Bay, but the flavor was perfect for me. Assertive smokiness without being overbearing. Get a piece with a good layer of fat and it was basically hearty beef bacon. I rarely put sauce on brisket but theirs is not bad, maybe just a dot or 2. Ribs: Also drier than what I like but the flavor and meaty texture was enough for me. Definitely have to pull these off the bone a bit, does not easily fall off, which I actually prefer. I like toothsome versus mushy meat. These ribs do have a layer of bbq sauce cooked into them, so it has a sweet and tangy flavor already in it. But they still can accept extra sauce, as it will not only moisten the ribs further but it will amp up the tang and sweetness that pork ribs are natural for. Tried 2 sides, beans and coleslaw. The beans aren't the super sweet kind, which I liked. More chili-like very hearty and complimenting to the smoky bbq. The slaw was perfect, crisp with a creamy yet slightly sweet dressing. Crazy good, I could actually eat their sides alone as a meal. Their corn bread here is strange. It is cooked in a sheetpan and cut into squares much like a brownie. But that square is then griddled til golden brown so I totally thought it was garlic bread at first. The other bbq spots I tried from this same company didn't make corn bread like that, so this was a first for me. Probably the only miss for me here. Also tried a half pound of Tri Tip ($20/4*) Very meaty that they were able to keep it a nice pink medium, which I like. But much milder in smoke than their brisket and ribs. I ended up making sandwiches with these at home. They are sliced pretty thick so you may have to slice some of them further. It bites easier in thinner slices versus monster thick slices that will pull out of the bread with each bite. I learned that on this out so just throwing out a tip. A solid bbq throwdown with a cold frosty one, plus lots of leftovers for work lunches the next few days, is just an out I can repeat over and over. Glad I found this spot! read more

The brisket, remember I am a brisket smoker, is very tender. It doesn't have the real smoky flavor I'm used to but cooked perfectly. The potato salad is pretty good, a little darker than I prefer. Taste is good with the tangy minced onions. The ribs are nearly perfect. They could have used about 20 more minutes but still delicious. The cornbread is good and it is warm. The garlic bread I wasn't expecting is delicious too. The barbecue sauce may be a little too smoky and too much sugar. Located on a corner with easy parking. This place had quite a few tables full on a weekday with many people biking over so parking was plenty. We could immediately smell the smoky bbq when we got out of the car and were prepared for a delicious meal. The place is quite large with lots of tables and plenty of seating. The decor is nice too, but it totally bugged me that a couple of the ceiling fans didn't match with the rest. Also the bathroom I used had Italian pictures on the walls which was a little off for a bbq spot. They also have some merch like t-shits for sale. However, the experience can vary depending on the day and the team serving you. On my first visit, the server and cook were attentive and asked how the food was. We were craving bbq, especially after hearing a neighborhood favorite just closed down. So we found this place doing an online search. It was a little hidden in a part of Mountain View we don't normally frequent. The restaurant was quaint with ample seating, and clean restrooms. There seemed to be a party room on the side (but it wasn't open at the time of our visit). We went on a weeknight, around 8:15 PM, a little before their 9 PM closing. We were sad to hear they had run out of a lot of menu items, including the brisket, burnt ends, cornbread, etc. Some of them ran out around 5 PM so they didn't even have enough for the dinner crowd! Overall I'd give it 5 stars for the food that they did have (we tried their hot links, tri-tip, and pork ribs, which were all tasty), but 4 stars for the service (it was not very friendly nor helpful for our first time there, but perhaps it was because English wasn't the cashier's first language). Additionally they started cleaning up the restaurant at around 8:30 PM so we're lucky we grabbed some bbq sauce before that. We might consider going back again to try their brisket (which is what we were wanting this time), but would probably call first to make sure they didn't run out. This is a hidden spot. The same menu as Mission BBQ - Santa Cruz, 152 in Gilroy, and the BBQ Pit in San Jose. The food was delicious even though there was only one couple in the restaurant at 5pm on Sunday. This is a great bbq spot! My younger sister had them cater her baby shower a few years back in which we all enjoyed. Yesterday we came with my family and got to sit inside the quiet room in the back which might be for big groups/parties. I love the intimacy and space it provides. We loved our entire spread! My sister treated us to delicious ribs, beef brisket, chicken, cornbread, garlic bread, beans and mashed potatoes. We also loved their baked potatoes which has a nice salt & pepper crust on the skin. Everything was on point and served hot and fresh. I'd like to thank Jose, our server and the cashier! He was so nice and very patient with us. He gave us everything we needed and made sure we were well taken care of. For dessert we loved their bread pudding with ice cream, blueberry pie and chocolate pie. We also paired our dessert with coffee. This was the perfect place for dinner for me and my fam. Great time for sure! I will say I do wish they changed out their soda machine; two flavors were already tapped out and serving just bubbles, the iced tea machine wasn't pouring well and wasn't giving the right iced tea flavor. I think they should swap this whole thing for either a basic soda machine (coke, sprite, Dr Pepper, etc,) or those new machines that pour multiple sodas and lemonades. I also recommend a small station of different bbq sauces and jars of pickled onions, jalapeños, etc. this would make it easier for people to grab rather than asking the employees. Since I couldn't count on Wagon Wheel for these items, I turned to their hot links & brisket to better judge their offerings; good thing I did because they were juicy & flavorsome. These meats & the sides salvaged this review. Mac & cheese was notably better than other bbq joints, & the potato salad & beans (a bit on the sweet side) were crowd faves.
