First off, the food here is fantastic. The girl at the front counter however has a sour attitude. I asked her previously about purchasing some of their Cajun seasoning to go and she said they don't sell it. Fast forward to yesterday, I asked the owner the same question and he also said no, okay I was fine with that except the girl, turns around and spoke in their language that I had asked before. We found a different type of restaurant than our usual and we are super happy with the choice. They have a grill, so the seafood is cooked perfectly charred and smoky. Picky Asian mother-in-law approved. The French fries were obviously not from same manufacturer that most restaurants use. The food was abundant and they had a special batter for the fried fish. Mandated in a lite sauce that brings out the flavor of the chicken thigh. But from here the side were not just disappointing but boarder line uneatable. The rice was dry and flavorless yet had some dark brown seasoning that did it no favors. The Mac was missing that sweet onion taste and had little to no, mayo and cider vinegar. I wanted to give them a 5, because the customer service was pleasant and kind. The Korean ribs were actually really good as a side. I was so so sad as I am still desperately trying to find quickly prepared , clean tasting grilled fish after a long day in the Bay Area --preferably closer to Cupertino. I moved here from Los Angeles where food is so epic and grilled fish are so delish (likely spoiled, I get it) . I branched out (trying to avoid the most farm raised) (and was recommended the grilled Barramundi -Cajun style. Ugh!! My mistake !!! It smelled old and it tasted like super fishy post-frozen stench. My heart was broken . When I got home, I tried to douse the fish in every sauce imaginable ---and finally tried to mask it in tartar sauce which I never do---but it smelled so bad, and likely wasn't proper to eat, so I begrudgingly had to throw it out. The short beef ribs were super juicy ,cooked well and I thoroughly enjoyed them. So at least I had a backup. Needless to say, I am still on the hunt for a good grilled fish spot. Sorry, but I wanted to be honest because I really thought this would be the spot for me from here on out....nope I hope the freshness gets better soon !!! The first words that came out of my mouth were, "make my meal extra wild" which means special sauce with the mango and pico de gallo and jalapeño and cabbage. The food finally comes to my table, and I see the most plane shrimp taco, and plane fries. I said, " I said extra wild, this is not wild" I'm a little upset but I'm willing to wait for them to fix it, but the "new guy" said "oh you didn't say that ." Then the manager comes over and saids, "oh that's not included in the combo " I literally come once a week to this place and order the same thing every time. We tried this place for the first time, and it was very good. It is located in a shopping center with a Safeway and a Ross. It looks new and clean inside, and there are a few outdoor tables in front. There is a kiosk where you can put in your own order, but it was slow-after the lunch hour-and the employee took our order. My husband had the kalua pork plate. I had the Hawaiian chicken BBQ plate. I ordered a side of French fries for us to share. The fries are crispy and very good, although not the best I've had. The kalua pork came with cooked cabbage mixed in. My husband liked his side of macaroni salad, and the garlic bread was tasty. My chicken was very thinly sliced, so not a ton of meat, but it was a good amount for me; I still took about half of it home. I got roasted veggies with it and they were a good mix. We all ordered the Swai fish plates which comes with your choice of two sides. For the fish you have a choice of lemon pepper seasoning , garlic butter, cajun spice, or plain. I chose cajun spice seasoning for my fish with a side salad and grilled zucchini. One thing for sure is that they don't skimp on the fish portion! Portion size was huge and cooked perfectly- delicate and not over cooked. Side salad was decent and came atop with a few sliced apples and zucchini was nicely seasoned and cooked as well. This place is just okay. I came here with a friend an hour before they closed and we ordered abs waited outside. All of their chairs were put away and we had to grab chairs from inside to outside. While we ate, the workers inside literally left and locked the doors behind them and we didn't see them come back. I feel like this represents the Bay Area - Asian inspired burritos. In a burrito, you've got seafood, rice and an assortment of veggies. I thought it was a tasty burrito, just don't expect it to be something you get at a taqueria. The shrimp was grilled well but I wish everything was mixed more so I can get all the ingredients in every bite. A great addition could be salsa or hot sauce like tapatio/cholula but the only thing close to that was sriracha. When I was young, I used to love the fried clams at Howard Johnson's. They were famous for them. I've looked for fried clams that good ever since. Now I have found them! I could eat their brown rice by the bucketfuls on its own, it's sooo good., and their grilled salmon and vegetables always taste so fresh! - Grilled Shrimp Bowl - Definitely get this if you loved grilled shrimp - Tacos A La Carte - love the Chicken Taco (juicy chicken teriyaki meat), Shrimp Taco (grilled shrimp), and Mahi Taco.
