The fish and chips were another favorite, the batter was fried right and the Alaskan cod stayed soft and moist. The guac and chips were also good. Had a great meal here yesterday. We sat at the bar . Service was quick and friendly. We gad the sticky ribs and they were great , also the coconut shrimp that were slightly over cooked but still had good flavor. I had a margarita and my partner had the Cali squeeze seasonal blood orange beer . We also shared the 3 piece fish and chips that was served with a jalapeño tartar sauce . We enjoyed everything. The only real problem was that we sat at the bar that had a side entrance. I saw several employees go out that door and then come back. Every time the door opened tons off nasty cigarette smoke came in with them. Some with a cloud as I believe they were the ones smoking. All I can say is it's pretty nasty. Had lunch with my friend here. Service and ambiance was great. However, the Ahi Poke bowl I ordered wasn't enough to please. The fish is dry and doesn't really look fresh. For my drink I ordered regular lemonade. It didn't taste lemonade at all, so flat. I asked my friend to taste it too and she agreed there's something wrong with the concoction. I had it replaced with ginger ale soda. When I got the bill, I was still charged with the price of the lemonade was high was more than soda. I want to start off with saying that my experience with Mark and the front of house staff was amazing. We came in for my MIL birthday and we had our youngest in a Suburban of a stroller and I felt like parking that anywhere in the restaurant would be an inconvenience. Mark, Ray and the hostess were quick to find us space in the restaurant to accommodate a small party of 5 including the stroller table side. The summer sea bass was paired with this great salad that had the best chilies and mango on them. The purée that was on the bottom of the fish had a great flavor to it. The PUPU appetizer was perfect for 4 of us to share. Our waiter was attentive, got us our appetizer quick even when we ordered with entrees. I had the Caesar salad with salmon. The salmon was perfectly cooked and the salad was tasty, but they really skimped on the avocado. Only a few really tiny bits of avocado were in my salad, and my friend had the same complaint. Pruneyard parking is always a pain, but Pacific Catch is at a good location at the end of the building, so it's pretty close to parking if you can find a spot. The restaurant itself is light and airy, with a few outside tables. A pleasant atmosphere. The service was good and our waiter was attentive. We had dinner here tonight. We have been here before many years ago. They are located in the Pruneyard shopping center. There is plenty of parking available around The Pruneyard shopping center. I had made a reservation for us on OpenTable. When we arrived, we checked in at the front desk. We were taken to a small table for two. I asked if we could sit in a booth instead, since there was an empty one across from us. She said that she couldn't change our table because there were over 100 reservations tonight, and that table was already reserved. She said we should have requested a booth when we made the reservation. She was not very friendly about it either. So things did not start off great. We sat at the small table and checked out the menus that were given to us. The tables to the left and right of us were so close that you could hear every conversation. I really did not like that. The restaurant wasn't even that busy. It was only half full. Not sure why we were all smashed together like that. Our waiter, Adrian, came to take our order. We happened to be there during happy hour, so we decided to order an appetizer and two drinks. We ordered the guaca-poke, a guava-Rita, and a Mai Tai. Our order came out fast. The guaca-poke was delicious, and the drinks were not bad for $9 each. For dinner, my hubby ordered the Kanpachi fish grilled with asparagus and green beans. I ordered the two taco platter. One taco was with grilled cod, and the other was Baja-style shrimp. It came with black beans, and I chose the salad for my side. The Kanpachi was delicious. My hubby really enjoyed his meal. My tacos were so delicious. The salad was also very good with a very tasty miso dressing. Despite the rude hostess, we had a very good meal. I would recommend the Black Miso Cod for a light but flavorful meal! Furikake rice with miso green beans were simple. The cod definitely was the star. I'm a regular to Pacific Catch and typically delighted by the service, atmosphere, and the food offerings. The service was spectacular during my visit for an early dinner and I had an awesome outside seat in the perfect Spring Weather. I had an Old Fashioned which was also excellent. Since I had an outstanding Birthday Reward, I tried the Sashimi Bowl, looking forwards to my favorite, Hamachi (Yellowtail) a long time favorite from my childhood. All was going great until I tasted the Yellowtail, which did not have the expected flavor, as though it was a different fish entirely. I confirmed this was the Yellowtail they had on offer, but unfortunately, I was unable to enjoy it. I'll stack this up to wherever they are sourcing it from as opposed to a mistake like giving me mackerel or something else. Great service - attentive servers who paid attention to details when taking our order. Unfortunately, the food was not prepared as server had taken my order. Ordered fish tacos with salsa on the side but actual order came with fish on top of the salsa and slaw. Disappointed but didn't comment about that since I didn't notice until I'd already taken a bite of each taco. Wished it had been served on the side as it made the tacos soggy and a little spicier than I would have liked. Fried Baja fish tacos had batter similar to fish and chips batter. Wished it was a lighter batter to make it easier on the stomach. It was hard to eat the corn tortilla on both tacos because the salsa was on the bottom of the fish versus being on top of the fish. Accompanying salad was dressed just right with the vinaigrette I requested. Black beans were nicely seasoned. Ordered a nojito which was not very flavorful. Thought it would be mintier, citrusy mocktail but honestly it just tasted like ginger ale with two quartered limes and sprigs of mint. Not worth the $6 I paid for it. Very disappointing.. Would have been better off saving that money spent to buy a pint of ice cream from a local retailer. Service was rather disappointing today. First of all the waiter just seemed a little bit lackluster when we pointed out that the menu was missing prices and there were discrepancies. For instance, even though the menu stated that it offered happy hour on the weekend, the waiter, said no, there's definitely no happy hour today and we were there at 3pm. (Online it shows that happy hour is indeed offered on the weekdays and weekends, I should mention.) I feel like he should've at least walked over and confirmed with his manager because the manager was there onsite. There was also no price listed for the Pacific Caesar salad. So the server finally got back to me with the price. My friend said that she had just gotten it with chicken. The server said that adding chicken or salmon would be $8 for either one. However, also incorrect! Online it shows that chicken is only $6. (hello, fish is always more expensive, especially salmon.) I didn't trust what he said, so I decided to skip that dish. My friend had said it was really good too. Oh well. I also didn't appreciate how when I went to pay the 22% was also marked as a default tip, so I would assume he ticked that. This is the first time that I've had service that has been subpar. Almost every other time the servers have been outstanding. I felt like the waiter should've double checked a few things have not been lazy about it. A few months ago, my friend and I also went and they had a different menu. It was three for $16 or something. He also said he didn't have that today either. And he claimed there was no such menu. So maybe they got rid of it. However, it is still listed online? Worst ceviche I ever had as it had no texture. I liked the acidic taste though. But needs some tomatoes and cucumber for texture. Lobster roll: 3.5 stars. Decent amount of lobster. The coleslaw was blah, dump the whole thing. Don't know why they serve it. The fries were delicious, with spicy seasoning. Grilled kenpachi with chimichurri accompanied by asparagus and kimchi fried rice: 4.5 stars. Everything was yummy. Kenpachi had good texture and flavor. Chimichurri was so so. Came to Pacific Catch today and overall it's been a good experience. I ordered two sushi rolls, and while they weren't really my cup of tea, I'll be honest -- I'm very picky when it comes to sushi, so that definitely plays a role in my opinion. My drink was really good. I ordered the POG (passion orange guava) and it was refreshing, well-balanced, and nicely presented -- definitely a highlight for me. Everyone else at the table has been enjoying their food and drinks, which is a good sign. The atmosphere is lively, and it was pretty crowded, so it's clearly a popular spot. We did mention that it was my sister-in-law's birthday. The response felt a bit neutral -- more of an acknowledgment than anything -- but overall the service has been fine. Our second time here for their Aloha Hour on a Friday. We remembered to wear Hawaiian shirts this time to get the $6 Mai Tai. We ordered the calamari and the Pupu platter to share. The place was well lit and had modern simple decor. *Sashimi Trio Bowl: Sashimi slices (3 each) of kanpachi yellowtail, salmon, and sesame-seared ahi, yuzu tobiko, ponzu, avocado, wakame, marinated cucumber, pickled ginger, daikon sprouts, lemon, soy-wasabi vinaigrette. The ceviche was just a few pieces of shrimp surrounded by small chunks of avocado soaked in lemon. Go to a Peruvian or Mexican mariscos restaurant if you want real ceviche and a sushi place for rolls. In fact, I remember going to the restaurant that was in this location before Pacific Catch opened - something about Albuquerque! We went on a Friday night after work, and were pleased to discover they have a Happy Hour menu if you sit outside or at the bar. Their outside dining area is really very nice. They have a few interesting drinks on the Happy Hour cocktail menu, including mai tais served in cool-looking glasses. The drink I had was good, fairly strong! We loved the eggplant dish on the Happy Hour menu. Only $5 and very flavorful. The pupu platter had a bunch of things on it, and the shrimp was a standout. The sushi I ordered was just fine, but my dining companion loved the shrimp taco. Service was fast and friendly. I don't think I've ever had a bad experience at this restaurant. Luis was our friendly server who offered his favorite suggestions for us. For my free birthday meal, I had a choice of any of their signature bowls. I opted for the West Coast Style/Grilled Salmon, with roasted cauliflower, avocado, cilantro-pepita pesto, soy-tahini drizzle, brown rice/quinoa, organic greens. I expected the roasted cauliflower to be warm, but it was cold. Not a deal breaker. And one piece of cauliflower wasn't roasted at all and very hard to cut into. The salmon over quinoa was warm, not hot, but okay. I thought the whole dish could've used a big flavor punch and more sauce over it. I ended up bringing half of my meal home. My friend ordered the 3-Taco Platter, grilled Chilean Sea Bass/pineapple salsa, crispy shrimp/Baja style, and grilled steak/spicy sriracha, and her choice of fries, for $24.95. She loved her entree and ate every bit of it. I secretly wished I had ordered her entree... The service here is lovely, but the restaurant was almost empty on the 4th of July. I have to wonder if it's because their prices are kind of insane? The Campbell Pacific Catch is located on the East side of the Pruneyard shopping plaza. While there is parking right in front, you might have to drive back to the parking garage about a block behind it. The restaurant is newly decorated in the past year or 2, much lighter and brighter so maybe not the romantic ambiance you are looking for. But very good food. Food - I started the meal with the classic Mai Tai which I would rate an 8 out of 10 -- smaller glass, but was pretty good. They have a special menu right now called "Luau Feast" and I ordered the Luau bowl. It had a lot of my favorite things: kale pork, delicious tuna poke, macaroni salad, stir-fried veggies. It was a large serving so I shared with my husband. He ordered the "Pick a Fish" from the main menu where you get to pick the fish, then the style (macadamia nut crusted, etc), and 2 sides. He chose the macadamia crusted Kanpachi with a coconut tahini sauce. His was also very good but the luau bowl was outstanding. Then for dessert we shared the Dulce de leche spring rolls; a good choice but I think the pineapple upside down cake would have been better. Service - at the start, very good. I washaving trouble with my account points redemption, and they were very accommodating. The happy hour here is awesome, with a breath of menu items and not just drinks or appetizers that are on a good discount. The ambience is great, perfect for business lunches or casual catch ups. I've also been here with a medium sized group and they've been able to accommodate very well. For the ambience, the quality of food, and the overall experience, the price is very reasonable.
