    The menus!

I'm a regular to Pacific Catch and typically delighted by the service, atmosphere, and the food offerings. The service was spectacular during my visit for an early dinner and I had an awesome outside seat in the perfect Spring Weather. I had an Old Fashioned which was also excellent. Since I had an outstanding Birthday Reward, I tried the Sashimi Bowl, looking forwards to my favorite, Hamachi (Yellowtail) a long time favorite from my childhood. All was going great until I tasted the Yellowtail, which did not have the expected flavor, as though it was a different fish entirely. I confirmed this was the Yellowtail they had on offer, but unfortunately, I was unable to enjoy it. I'll stack this up to wherever they are sourcing it from as opposed to a mistake like giving me mackerel or something else. As I indicated, I frequent this location and have not hit anything off before.

Really high quality California-styled seafood! I recommend their Campbell location especially for a nice ambiance. Great lighting interior during a lunch. I would recommend the Black Miso Cod for a light but flavorful meal! Furikake rice with miso green beans were simple. The cod definitely was the star. Cooked perfectly and the glaze was sweet and full of umami. My boyfriend also got the poke bowl and enjoyed it! Very filling and savory raw fish. Not the most authentic poke, but tasty nonetheless. We also shared the seasonal chowder with MANILA CLAMS! This was reallyyyyy good, even for the big price tag. Worth sharing!! PRO TIP: Sign up for their rewards and you can get a free bowl on your birthday! (up to $22.95)

Baja Shrimp Ceviche: No no. Pool of lime juice

Decent food. Great service. Casual seafood dining option. Shrimp ceviche: 1 star. Pool of lime juice, avocado with a few piece of shrimp. Please look at my pics. It consisted of mostly avocado in lime juice. With a few pieces of shrimp. What happened? Also the chips were pretty thick and some of it was not fried well stale. Worst ceviche I ever had as it had no texture. I liked the acidic taste though. But needs some tomatoes and cucumber for texture. Lobster roll: 3.5 stars. Decent amount of lobster. The coleslaw was blah, dump the whole thing. Don't know why they serve it. The fries were delicious, with spicy seasoning. Grilled kenpachi with chimichurri accompanied by asparagus and kimchi fried rice: 4.5 stars. Everything was yummy. Kenpachi had good texture and flavor. Chimichurri was so so. Asparagus cooked perfectly still with crisp and sweet. The kimchi fried rice was a perfect accompaniment. Had the blood orange lemonade which was pretty decent. Hubby had the guava-Rita -meh. Don't get it.

Came to Pacific Catch today and overall it's been a good experience. I ordered two sushi rolls, and while they weren't really my cup of tea, I'll be honest -- I'm very picky when it comes to sushi, so that definitely plays a role in my opinion. My drink was really good. I ordered the POG (passion orange guava) and it was refreshing, well-balanced, and nicely presented -- definitely a highlight for me. Everyone else at the table has been enjoying their food and drinks, which is a good sign. The atmosphere is lively, and it was pretty crowded, so it's clearly a popular spot. We did mention that it was my sister-in-law's birthday. The response felt a bit neutral -- more of an acknowledgment than anything -- but overall the service has been fine. Even though the sushi didn't fully hit for me personally, I can see why people enjoy this place. I'd be open to coming back and trying something else on the menu.

Our second time here for their Aloha Hour on a Friday. We remembered to wear Hawaiian shirts this time to get the $6 Mai Tai. We ordered the calamari and the Pupu platter to share. It was plenty of food for 2 people. The calamari was crispy and tasty, and I loved the fried lemon slices that came with it. The platter had coconut shrimps, Hawaiian pork belly sliders, sea bass skewers, and guaca-poke with tortilla chips. A great combination and everything on the plate was solid. Service was prompt and we enjoyed our food and drinks.

I popped in for a quick lunch before an appointment and let my server know I only had about 30 minutes -- and he absolutely delivered. I ordered the salmon avocado burger with the coleslaw and it was delicious. Since it's in the Pruneyard, parking can be its own adventure, but I happened to snag a spot right up front... which is honestly the only reason I chose this place. I made a deal with myself that wherever I found parking is where I'd eat, and the parking gods were clearly smiling on me today. Fast, friendly, and a great vibe. Efficient service + tasty food = exactly what I needed.

It's been awhile since we last came to this Pacific Catch location. I think it was before they remodeled like back in 2011. We usually go to their other locations but we were in the neighborhood. The place was well lit and had modern simple decor. *Sashimi Trio Bowl: Sashimi slices (3 each) of kanpachi yellowtail, salmon, and sesame-seared ahi, yuzu tobiko, ponzu, avocado, wakame, marinated cucumber, pickled ginger, daikon sprouts, lemon, soy-wasabi vinaigrette. Base of 1/2 mixed organic greens, 1/2 sushi rice (3.5/5). Good as usual but today the marinated cucumbers were a bit too salty. Also, some of the sashimi was ok.

Love how clean and spacious this location is. There is good lighting and modern decor. The staff is friendly and the service attentive and quick. I recommend the ride bowls and fish tacos!

Showed up at 5pm and got seated right away. Started off with the miso soup, and I really enjoyed the texture added by the shitake mushrooms. Loved ordering the poke duo bowl off their new menu, as it was super affordable in comparison to some of their other mains. Perfect portion size, but I wish the the avocado didn't have to be a $2 add-on. Overall solid experience!

Ordered the chicken teriyaki and it was so delicious. The ingredients felt fresh and tasted great. Will come again!

The Campbell Pacific Catch is located on the East side of the Pruneyard shopping plaza. While there is parking right in front, you might have to drive back to the parking garage about a block behind it. The restaurant is newly decorated in the past year or 2, much lighter and brighter so maybe not the romantic ambiance you are looking for. But very good food. Food - I started the meal with the classic Mai Tai which I would rate an 8 out of 10 -- smaller glass, but was pretty good. They have a special menu right now called "Luau Feast" and I ordered the Luau bowl. It had a lot of my favorite things: kale pork, delicious tuna poke, macaroni salad, stir-fried veggies. It was a large serving so I shared with my husband. He ordered the "Pick a Fish" from the main menu where you get to pick the fish, then the style (macadamia nut crusted, etc), and 2 sides. He chose the macadamia crusted Kanpachi with a coconut tahini sauce. His was also very good but the luau bowl was outstanding. Then for dessert we shared the Dulce de leche spring rolls; a good choice but I think the pineapple upside down cake would have been better. Service - at the start, very good. We did have to wait a little while to get dessert menus and order. I will come again soon and hopefully they still have the Luau Bowl.

We came here for happy hour after a couple of years without coming here. We were pleased to see that Happy Hour was no longer restricted to the bar area. I think this is smaller rather than crowding people into a small area. We ordered the sea bass skewers, sliders, eggplant, and tacos. The food came quickly, service was friendly, and we enjoyed the meal. The sea bass skewers were fine - not anything particularly special, but solid. Sliders and tacos were tasty and a bit above expectations. The eggplant was good! The cocktail was also adequately strong, which was nice. It's just nice to have a relaxing, reasonably priced, laid back place to end your week. We plan on coming back soon.

The super tacos come with cilantro, onions, avocado, sour cream, cheese and pico de gallo. All the tacos come with homemade corn tortillas - you could tell they were fresh. The tacos are big, not small at all. The carne asada, carnitas and pollo was my favorite. Al pastor was good as well, chorizo was not that flavorful for me. However, they also have 3 types of salsas (green, red and a creamy orange) you can use to help add some more flavor if needed. The tacos were good and the tortilla they used was quite thick. The enchiladas had good flavor as well, and I would be interested in trying their enchilada with the verde sauce next time. Their prices have steadily risen over time and they have updated their menu prices as well. One thing that elevated this restaurant to 4 stars is their sauce! The red sauce and green sauce recipe is definitely unique compared to other taquerias. The red sauce bottle helps with the flavor tremendously and without it I would have rated this place lower.

Typical culture is to put the sauce directly on the tacos when you receive them. They give sauce cups if you order to go otherwise they are reluctant to give them out. Currently they are constructing a building around their seating area which is new. This implies that they are generating enough cash to turn their food truck and seating area into an actual establishment. Onto the food review! Personally I liked the cabeza as it was very soft, but the flavor can't compare to the suadero. The carne asada lacked flavor in my opinion and was the least tasty out of the meats we tried. Carnitas had that great crunch you're looking for in a taco as it is seared excellently. Lengua was flavorful and super soft just like the cabeza which indicates that they were both braised to perfection. All choices are very solid albeit be prepared for a very greasy meal. The star of the show is their avocado salsa! They offered 6 other sauces in their sauce bar but the avocado salsa was superb compared to the others. This was the only option that had me coming back to sauce bar throughout my meal. They also offered pickled carrots, jalapeños, and onions at their sauce bar to help balance the flavors. Finally the best JD big back tip is to get the large strawberry horchata! It was so good we finished ours before even taking a picture of it! The flavor profile on that beverage is superb, imagine a creamy strawberry yakult that is the perfect option to balance greasy tacos. This is a hidden gem item as their strawberry horchata is significantly better than other restaurants version of it. They also offer other flavored horchata but the strawberry remains top tier.

I came to La Jaiba Taqueria y Mariscos with a friend on a whim on a Sunday around 12pm for lunch…read moresince we were in the area. It was relatively empty, with only one other party seated at the time. Service was friendly and quick, and we got our food pretty quickly after ordering. It's got a quaint hole in the wall kind of vibe, but was still clean - though not very air conditioned. We missed it, but there was a salsa bar in the corner near the entrance. We were served complimentary salsa and chips - nice refreshing, tomatoey and lightly spicy salsa. We also got guacamole, which you could tell was freshly made, chunky and refreshing. Glad we got this, because it helped cut through how heavy the molcajete de mariscos we got was. We were NOT expecting how large the mocajete is - this can probably be split across 3 if not 4 people. It comes out boiling hot, and with 3 tortillas, and a side of beans and rice. When we ordered, they asked us if we would want more tortillas since it comes with only 3 - we didn't even finish the 3 it came with. The sauce was tasty, tomatoey and spicy, and it was chock full of mussels, squid, sooo many shrimp, a whole filet of fried fish, and other goodies - unfortunately most of the seafood was pretty dry/overcooked. It came out to about $60 for the two of us. Overall, the mocajete was fun to try, but I think next time I'd try some tacos or a burrito if I were to come back.
