    Blood orange margaritas
    Tara B.

Had a great meal here yesterday. We sat at the bar . Service was quick and friendly. We gad the sticky ribs and they were great , also the coconut shrimp that were slightly over cooked but still had good flavor. I had a margarita and my partner had the Cali squeeze seasonal blood orange beer . We also shared the 3 piece fish and chips that was served with a jalapeño tartar sauce . We enjoyed everything. The only real problem was that we sat at the bar that had a side entrance. I saw several employees go out that door and then come back. Every time the door opened tons off nasty cigarette smoke came in with them. Some with a cloud as I believe they were the ones smoking. All I can say is it's pretty nasty. They should not be allowed to smoke anywhere near the door. Front back or side. It's very unpleasant especially to non smokers. We will be back but maybe try a different location.

We got the Chicken Tinga Bowl and I absolutely loved it. The tinga was seasoned very well and the bowl just had so much flavor. I definitely recommend ordering this if you're craving something on the healthier side. We also added a side of guac which was definitely a must!! 10/10

Pacific Catch West Coast Fish Market in the Pruneyard in Campbell, CA. Five Star Dining Experience. Julie A

Pacific Catch West Coast Fish Market is a fabulous Five Star Restaurant. You can tell when customer's enjoy eating and drinking and just enjoying the electric atmosphere. My Popo platter is incredible with ribs, sea bass, coconut shrimp, guacamole with Tuna Poke and and crisp chips. Also, my Clam Chowder is hot and fresh actually has real clams in the shell on the top of the chowder. Incredible! I also got a poke bowl to go. This is my new favorite fish restaurant. Enjoy! In a world where everything but your salary keeps going up and you keep getting less for more, Pacific Catch is giving people what they want: a break. Their daily HH, aka Aloha Hour, offers one of the best values I've seen in years. We're taking $9 cocktails, $10 ceviche, and $7 tacos. Almost everything on that menu is at least $4 off regular menu prices; their pupu platter takes the crown with a whopping $7.50 discount. It's not just the prices. Their recently renovated dining area is bright, inviting, and comfortable. And all of the staff who worked on 3/20 were an absolute delight. Thank you, Pacific Catch Campbell, for being a shining pillar and sustaining the community. We appreciate you!

Service was rather disappointing today. First of all the waiter just seemed a little bit lackluster when we pointed out that the menu was missing prices and there were discrepancies. For instance, even though the menu stated that it offered happy hour on the weekend, the waiter, said no, there's definitely no happy hour today and we were there at 3pm. (Online it shows that happy hour is indeed offered on the weekdays and weekends, I should mention.) I feel like he should've at least walked over and confirmed with his manager because the manager was there onsite. There was also no price listed for the Pacific Caesar salad. So the server finally got back to me with the price. My friend said that she had just gotten it with chicken. The server said that adding chicken or salmon would be $8 for either one. However, also incorrect! Online it shows that chicken is only $6. (hello, fish is always more expensive, especially salmon.) I didn't trust what he said, so I decided to skip that dish. My friend had said it was really good too. Oh well. I also didn't appreciate how when I went to pay the 22% was also marked as a default tip, so I would assume he ticked that. This is the first time that I've had service that has been subpar. Almost every other time the servers have been outstanding. I felt like the waiter should've double checked a few things have not been lazy about it. A few months ago, my friend and I also went and they had a different menu. It was three for $16 or something. He also said he didn't have that today either. And he claimed there was no such menu. So maybe they got rid of it. However, it is still listed online? My friend had got the tacos before and she loved those so I'm posting that picture here as well but this was the prior visit in the spring.

Grilled Kanpachi with grilled asparagus and Sesame Green Beans

We had dinner here tonight. We have been here before many years ago. They are located in the Pruneyard shopping center. There is plenty of parking available around The Pruneyard shopping center. I had made a reservation for us on OpenTable. When we arrived, we checked in at the front desk. We were taken to a small table for two. I asked if we could sit in a booth instead, since there was an empty one across from us. She said that she couldn't change our table because there were over 100 reservations tonight, and that table was already reserved. She said we should have requested a booth when we made the reservation. She was not very friendly about it either. So things did not start off great. We sat at the small table and checked out the menus that were given to us. The tables to the left and right of us were so close that you could hear every conversation. I really did not like that. The restaurant wasn't even that busy. It was only half full. Not sure why we were all smashed together like that. Our waiter, Adrian, came to take our order. We happened to be there during happy hour, so we decided to order an appetizer and two drinks. We ordered the guaca-poke, a guava-Rita, and a Mai Tai. Our order came out fast. The guaca-poke was delicious, and the drinks were not bad for $9 each. For dinner, my hubby ordered the Kanpachi fish grilled with asparagus and green beans. I ordered the two taco platter. One taco was with grilled cod, and the other was Baja-style shrimp. It came with black beans, and I chose the salad for my side. The Kanpachi was delicious. My hubby really enjoyed his meal. My tacos were so delicious. The salad was also very good with a very tasty miso dressing. Despite the rude hostess, we had a very good meal. When we were getting ready to leave, I noticed there were still many tables that were empty. Not sure what happened to the 100 reservations the hostess mentioned. Adrian gave us excellent service. The food was very good, and we plan to come back again soon. I'll be sure to request a booth the next time I make a reservation or just try another location.

I'm a regular to Pacific Catch and typically delighted by the service, atmosphere, and the food offerings. The service was spectacular during my visit for an early dinner and I had an awesome outside seat in the perfect Spring Weather. I had an Old Fashioned which was also excellent. Since I had an outstanding Birthday Reward, I tried the Sashimi Bowl, looking forwards to my favorite, Hamachi (Yellowtail) a long time favorite from my childhood. All was going great until I tasted the Yellowtail, which did not have the expected flavor, as though it was a different fish entirely. I confirmed this was the Yellowtail they had on offer, but unfortunately, I was unable to enjoy it. I'll stack this up to wherever they are sourcing it from as opposed to a mistake like giving me mackerel or something else. As I indicated, I frequent this location and have not hit anything off before.

Great service - attentive servers who paid attention to details when taking our order. Unfortunately, the food was not prepared as server had taken my order. Ordered fish tacos with salsa on the side but actual order came with fish on top of the salsa and slaw. Disappointed but didn't comment about that since I didn't notice until I'd already taken a bite of each taco. Wished it had been served on the side as it made the tacos soggy and a little spicier than I would have liked. Fried Baja fish tacos had batter similar to fish and chips batter. Wished it was a lighter batter to make it easier on the stomach. It was hard to eat the corn tortilla on both tacos because the salsa was on the bottom of the fish versus being on top of the fish. Accompanying salad was dressed just right with the vinaigrette I requested. Black beans were nicely seasoned. Ordered a nojito which was not very flavorful. Thought it would be mintier, citrusy mocktail but honestly it just tasted like ginger ale with two quartered limes and sprigs of mint. Not worth the $6 I paid for it. Very disappointing.. Would have been better off saving that money spent to buy a pint of ice cream from a local retailer. Don't think I'll go out of my way to return unless I'm sure that my order will be more aligned to my order and if I'm in the neighborhood..

We had such a nice evening at Pacific Catch! I hosted a happy hour for 9 ladies, and everything went smoothly. The food was really good, the drinks were great, and it was the perfect place to relax, chat, and enjoy time together. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and everyone had a wonderful time. We'll definitely be back!

Miso Black Cod & Original Ahi Poke Bowl
    Alisa B.

Really high quality California-styled seafood! I recommend their Campbell location especially for a nice ambiance. Great lighting interior during a lunch. I would recommend the Black Miso Cod for a light but flavorful meal! Furikake rice with miso green beans were simple. The cod definitely was the star. Cooked perfectly and the glaze was sweet and full of umami. My boyfriend also got the poke bowl and enjoyed it! Very filling and savory raw fish. Not the most authentic poke, but tasty nonetheless. We also shared the seasonal chowder with MANILA CLAMS! This was reallyyyyy good, even for the big price tag. Worth sharing!! PRO TIP: Sign up for their rewards and you can get a free bowl on your birthday! (up to $22.95)

Baja Shrimp Ceviche: No no. Pool of lime juice
    Dang L.

Decent food. Great service. Casual seafood dining option. Shrimp ceviche: 1 star. Pool of lime juice, avocado with a few piece of shrimp. Please look at my pics. It consisted of mostly avocado in lime juice. With a few pieces of shrimp. What happened? Also the chips were pretty thick and some of it was not fried well stale. Worst ceviche I ever had as it had no texture. I liked the acidic taste though. But needs some tomatoes and cucumber for texture. Lobster roll: 3.5 stars. Decent amount of lobster. The coleslaw was blah, dump the whole thing. Don't know why they serve it. The fries were delicious, with spicy seasoning. Grilled kenpachi with chimichurri accompanied by asparagus and kimchi fried rice: 4.5 stars. Everything was yummy. Kenpachi had good texture and flavor. Chimichurri was so so. Asparagus cooked perfectly still with crisp and sweet. The kimchi fried rice was a perfect accompaniment. Had the blood orange lemonade which was pretty decent. Hubby had the guava-Rita -meh. Don't get it.

Came to Pacific Catch today and overall it's been a good experience. I ordered two sushi rolls, and while they weren't really my cup of tea, I'll be honest -- I'm very picky when it comes to sushi, so that definitely plays a role in my opinion. My drink was really good. I ordered the POG (passion orange guava) and it was refreshing, well-balanced, and nicely presented -- definitely a highlight for me. Everyone else at the table has been enjoying their food and drinks, which is a good sign. The atmosphere is lively, and it was pretty crowded, so it's clearly a popular spot. We did mention that it was my sister-in-law's birthday. The response felt a bit neutral -- more of an acknowledgment than anything -- but overall the service has been fine. Even though the sushi didn't fully hit for me personally, I can see why people enjoy this place. I'd be open to coming back and trying something else on the menu.

    Cabo Calamari
    Maria L.

Our second time here for their Aloha Hour on a Friday. We remembered to wear Hawaiian shirts this time to get the $6 Mai Tai. We ordered the calamari and the Pupu platter to share. It was plenty of food for 2 people. The calamari was crispy and tasty, and I loved the fried lemon slices that came with it. The platter had coconut shrimps, Hawaiian pork belly sliders, sea bass skewers, and guaca-poke with tortilla chips. A great combination and everything on the plate was solid. Service was prompt and we enjoyed our food and drinks.

The tray was already set neatly with napkin, fork, a hefty portion of complimentary chips, a small dish of house-made salsa, and also a large salsa bottle! I enjoyed the multi-fruit-infused water. They have quite a bit of outdoor seating, and I appreciated how they had bottles of hand sanitizer around the restaurant where people touch cups and beverage machines. It's decorated with fitting, pretty artwork, and cute table cloths. I appreciated how the staff really cleaned the floor and tables around me as I ate. I ordered horchata agua fresca and 3 buche tacos ($6.99)! I believe they said it was beef stomach. The tacos were delicious with lots of meat and fresh onions. The salsa and chips were hearty and warm. Would be back if I'm ever in the area! I dined in and was given a generous portion of chips and a tomato-based salsa that was surprisingly spicy for a chips salsa. The salsa verde was tangy and well seasoned, whereas the red salsa was hot but well-balanced and not mean. My food came out quickly and the accompanying grilled jalapeño was a nice touch. The not so good: basically each of the tacos. The asada was very beefy and there was lots of it, definitely the best of the three. The carnitas were kind of bland and one-note with regards to the texture: no crispy bits, and definitely needed salsa to improve the flavor profile. The Al pastor was, unfortunately, my least favorite. There were several pieces of really chewy meat and the meat seemed to have an odd spice flavor, like cinnamon or another warming spice that kind of put me off. I really want to like this place and the actual experience was very pleasant! I saw some other guests order plates and fish burritos, both of which looked good. I'd definitely give this place another change but if you do go for tacos or regular burritos, I recommend sticking with the asada.

I finally decided to give it a try after hearing about the restaurant from food reviewer Dave fiore text. As someone who absolutely loves tacos and is always on the hunt for great local taco spots, I was excited to see how this place compared to some of my favorites. I ordered four different tacos, and overall, they were pretty good. They weren't bad by any means, but they also didn't quite blow me away. The meat was cooked well, the tortillas were fresh, and the tacos had good flavor. The salsa was decent too, although I personally prefer something with a little more kick. Everyone has different tastes, so this is just my opinion. One thing I really appreciated was how clean and organized the restaurant was. You can tell they take pride in keeping the dining area nice and welcoming. The staff was friendly, and my food came out quickly. It's always a good sign when a restaurant pays attention to both cleanliness and customer service. I've eaten at a lot of taco places throughout the Bay Area, so I naturally compare every new place to some of my favorites. While El Halal Mexican Restaurant didn't make the top of my list, I still had a good experience and I'm glad I finally gave it a shot. Not every restaurant has to be your favorite to be worth visiting. I also like supporting family-owned businesses because I know how much hard work goes into running a local restaurant. They deserve credit for creating a clean, welcoming place and serving quality food. Will I come back? Maybe. If I do, I'd probably try something different on the menu instead of the tacos. Sometimes a restaurant's best dish isn't the first thing you order, and I'd be interested in seeing what else they have to offer. Overall, I'd give El Halal Mexican Restaurant a solid 4 out of 5 stars. It was a good experience, I'm happy I finally got to try it, and if you're in the Willow Glen area, it's worth stopping by and deciding for yourself.

It's got a quaint hole in the wall kind of vibe, but was still clean - though not very air conditioned. We missed it, but there was a salsa bar in the corner near the entrance. We were served complimentary salsa and chips - nice refreshing, tomatoey and lightly spicy salsa. We also got guacamole, which you could tell was freshly made, chunky and refreshing. Glad we got this, because it helped cut through how heavy the molcajete de mariscos we got was. We were NOT expecting how large the mocajete is - this can probably be split across 3 if not 4 people. It comes out boiling hot, and with 3 tortillas, and a side of beans and rice. When we ordered, they asked us if we would want more tortillas since it comes with only 3 - we didn't even finish the 3 it came with. The sauce was tasty, tomatoey and spicy, and it was chock full of mussels, squid, sooo many shrimp, a whole filet of fried fish, and other goodies - unfortunately most of the seafood was pretty dry/overcooked. It came out to about $60 for the two of us. Overall, the mocajete was fun to try, but I think next time I'd try some tacos or a burrito if I were to come back.
