We live about a mile from the Pruneyard, so we find ourselves coming here a lot more than I expected after my first visit. There's a lot to do in this area and this is one of the only seafood options as far as I'm aware, so it quickly became a default spot for us after a movie. The food itself is pretty good, although it's unlikely anything will be the best you ever had. The fish is consistent but never super amazingly fresh and I'll admit that many of the dishes kind of have that conveyor belt feel. Kind of like it's being pumped out of a factory, the result is very consistent but can feel a little bit soulless. That might be a dramatic way to put it, but if you've ever eaten at a high price point chain like this one you probably know what I'm talking about. That's really the thing that stops me from loving this place too, everything is very expensive. You're paying the prices of a more upscale meal but getting something that feels like it falls just short of that. If this seems negative, just know that I do still come here a lot. I enjoy the food, the location is great, and there are quite a bit of options. It feels very clean-cut and the quality, service, and offerings are very consistent. If you happen to try a dish here that you really love, just know that you'll be able to come back time and time again and each time the dish that's delivered to you will be exactly as you remember it. read more

I kept going back and forth between a 3 and a 4 to rate this meal, but the more I think about it, the food was better than I expected so I'm giving it a 4. Went here with friends on a whim. We initially tried calling 2 other places that were full for the night so we ended up going here instead. On a Saturday night, there were a lot of people dining here, but also a lot of tables still available. It's a pretty big restaurant compared to other places in the pruneyard. I don't love how they give you water with no ice in small cups. I like big water cups with lots of ice. I ordered a soda water with lime and to my disappointment, this also came in a carafe with no ice and an additional small cup. I would've asked the server for a big cup of ice, but it seemed like everything was difficult for him so I didn't want to burden him with an unnecessary request. One of my friends remarked that as a seafood restaurant, it seemed odd that they didn't have anything on the menu where shrimp was the star. Yes they have shrimp tacos but I mean something more protein forward. He wanted something like a shrimp sampler which they don't offer. They also had seemingly random menu items like a Korean bbq platter that had nothing to do with the rest of the menu, which felt very weird. Aside from those complaints, everything was pretty good. Food took an appropriate amount of time to come out. Our orders were correct, and everything tasted pretty good. I got one shrimp taco and one fish taco. My first thought after taking a bite was wow this is too heavy on the cabbage like they're trying to skimp on protein. But when I actually ate it all together it was well balanced, and most of the sauces were in the cabbage which worked really nicely. It came with black beans topped with cotija which were quite tasty, and I chose chips & salsa for a side. I hate when salsa means pico and a place doesn't specify that, so I didn't really touch the salsa and just dipped my chips in the beans. Chips were better than store bought which was impressive for an American seafood restaurant. Total was about $120 for 3 people. Overall a good experience, but I probably wouldn't choose this place again when there are so many excellent options nearby, unless I'm in a similar situation trying to go out last minute on a weekend and other places are fully booked. read more

What a nice place! It was my first time here, and I have to say, I was really impressed. The food is fantastic! My friend and I decided to try the fresh Canadian oysters, and we were not disappointed--they were absolutely delicious. I ordered the Arctic salmon with Hawaiian sea salt, along with Brussels sprouts and broccolini. My friend had the Latin Chimichurri grilled Kanpachi yellowtail, and both dishes were excellent. The service was also good. Although it was a very hot day, we chose to sit outside with our dog, so I can't speak to the experience inside. I am giving them more starts because the manager called me back and made things right, which I greatly appreciate. The manager truly cared and definitely tried to compensate for what happened. Always a great time at Pacific Catch. This specific branch is located near Trader Joe's and Marshall's so it was a perfect afternoon snack spot after doing a little shopping. We ordered the pupu platter which consisted of a couple of shrimps, some veg, and guac and chips. I thought it was the perfect combination of food that satisfies my afternoon craving for something fresh and filling. Not too heavy, and a good amount portion wise. The food is delish, the decor is cute inside, our hostest and server were super prompt and nice. My fav was the clam chowder and Alaskan cod. The fish and chips mixed plate is like a big appetizer and it did come in first w our salad app. The clam chowder was piping hot and even though the little toasts had black burnt parts on the bottom side, it wasn't an issue (taste-wise). I 100% want to come back during their Happy Hour (M-F 3-6) & try more foods. However, a weird thing happened where my mom asked the person who brought tables food for an extra bowl (to split the salad we ordered) and he said that'll cost extra. My mom was so confused and just wanted an extra dish really. She explained herself and he's like yes it costs extra. I told her don't worry about it. I'm always on the hunt for a good happy hour and Pacific Catch was the perfect place (bonus, it's in the same plaza as a Trader Joe's!). Sometimes happy hour menus can be limited but I felt like they had lots of options to choose from. I sat at the bar and had great service. Pacific Catch is tucked in the corner of Pruneyard. There is a nice outdoor seating area where you can enjoy with friends and family. We wanted to sit by the window but unfortunately they required more guests in order to be seated. It was near closing and no one sat at the area. I had Alaskan Cod with chili like fries and beans. I also ordered a side of wakame seaweed salad, my personal favorite. I had asked for ketchup but it seems that was forgotten, so I had to take ketchup on my own. The fries were fantastic. I think the Alaskan Cod could be better. It felt a bit cold and I should have requested it to be well done. The server was nice to make changes to my order as requested. I love Pacific Catch. It's the only restaurant that we return to on a regular basis. There's just too many amazing restaurants to discover in the Bay Area! But Pacific Catch is my go-to favorite. The cocktails are always on-point. They are strong and even during happy hour, they don't skimp on the alcohol like a lot of restaurants do. The coconut shrimp is always our favorite when it comes to the starters. Can't go wrong with it. Service is always amazing. Giving a special shout out to Marina because she is awesome! I'd say the restaurant hovers between 3.5 and 4 stars. The service is hit or miss depending on who you get. The restaurant itself is very pretty and the way the seating is arranged including completely inside, sorta inside, and outside patio (with heat lamps for cooler evenings) is interesting and aesthetically pleasing. There are lots of birds of paradise flowers outside. Our favorites here are the shrimp tempura sushi roll and the sea bass hand roll. The food is very fresh and generally well presented. Thankfully when we got there we were quickly seated, and ended up ordering: * original poke - this came with wonton chips and delicious fresh fish. The fish was seasoned amazingly and tasted fresh, overall the dish came together amazing * grilled fish for one - this came with shrimp and fish and we got kimchi fried rice and crab mashed potatoes for our sides and this was absolutely delicious! I am not a seafood eater, so I thought I would not enjoy Pacific catch. I was wrong! I order a chicken teriyaki bowl whenever we go there to eat. It's yummy! I am not a big fan of their service style; it feels almost like a quick service restaurant. However, they seem to be mastering it and it is feeling less clunky lately. Food is consistent. And good. While Pacific catch is not my fave (it's seafood and I don't eat that), I know that there is an item I can order and enjoy. That's a win! read more

The food is usually very good according to my friend who had cooked salmon bowl. I ate a raw rainbow sushi roll there on 10/7 and got very ill with food poisoning symptoms. I was up all night with pain, nauseated, vomiting and diarrhea. I heard other people in the Bay Area had food poisoning so I hope the seafood is not tainted. I usually have an iron stomach, so I hope no one else experiences what I did. Service was good, but hope they will look to see if anyone else got sick this last week. read more

Dined in here for early dinner and ordered mostly from the happy hour menu. We had the serrano ahi poke, spicy tuna roll, seared fish tacos, coconut shrimp and niña colada. The first food they served was the fish tacos but it was fried fish instead of seared. We told them we ordered seared and the server said we can keep it and they'll make our seared fish tacos. The taco was already in front of my friend - lime squeezed in it and ready to eat, but after 5 minutes the server came to us and said the kitchen wanted the taco back. ‍ We didn't feel good after that, it was offending. Wondered what were they gonna do with it and I hoped they're not giving it to one of the customers who ordered the same thing! When we got our sushi, the server didn't give us chopsticks to eat it with so we had to wait for her to come back so we could ask for chopsticks and small plates. (We really had to wait) The niña colada drink was very sweet, I just had few sips and couldn't drink it. The coconut shrimp was very oily, had only one of it. The serrano ahi poke and spicy tuna roll were the only ones that were good. We finished eating quick and been waiting for the server lady to ask her the check and oh man she was too busy chatting with her coworker. I was looking at her but since she's too busy chatting she couldn't even notice me. I was already being impatient coz it has been long so I asked the other guy for the check and he had to tell our server - the only time we could get our check. The restaurant wasn't even that busy because it was early evening. We are very disappointed! This place used to be one of my favorite restaurants, but this experience changed it. The shrimp tacos are so good, they're lightly nattered and sauces to perfection. The fish n chips are perfectly crispy and light. Their tartar sauce is above average.
