Classy restaurant with really lovely outdoor seating. We came on a Thursday evening and there was no wait. Less than half the restaurant was full. The weather was good, so we sat in the back patio and it was so nice. I ordered the Dungeness crab fettuccine and it was really well made, but a little too salty for me (although I'm very sensitive to salt so it's probably not too salty for the average diner). My husband ordered the short ribs. He enjoyed his dish but wished there were some vegetables in it. My favorite part was the complimentary bread. So warm and delicious. We came for my husband's birthday, so they actually prepared a small piece of chocolate mousse cake with candle for him after our meal, which was a nice surprise! It was very good--not too sweet. We had an amazing time celebrating our anniversary at Cucina Venti! I first visited last month for a company dinner, and I knew right away this is where I would bring my wife for our anniversary. Their interior design is incredible; so sceney with a lot of white roses and chandeliers. We enjoyed dinner on the patio which was surrounded by beautiful flowers and ivy growing up the side of the building. Such a great ambience. There were printed out Anniversary cards on the table for me and my wife which was very sweet! Recommend getting a reservation around 6:30-7:00 if you can, that way you can watch the restaurant transition it's atmosphere. The food was such a hit! We got the Spanish Octopus, prawns, Burrata and Heirloom tomatoes salad, filet mignon and the star of the night: the Paella with added scallops by our server's recommendation!! They somehow managed to pull off stellar Mediterranean and Italian food at a single location. They also brought us a spececial dessert with The drinks were also absolutely fantastic; I got one of their special old fashions with their home made smoked syrup and it was legitimately one of the best Old Fashions I've ever had. We had our son and daughter-in-law's rehearsal dinner at Cucina Venti, and it could not have been more perfect. They beautifully accommodated our party of 19 and went out of their way to make the bride and groom feel incredibly special--including lovely touches like special toasting glasses just for them. The menu they created for our table was fantastic and offered something for everyone, with wonderful beef, seafood, and vegan options. We had a private table that made the evening feel intimate and celebratory, and when the evening turned chilly, they made sure we were comfortable with heaters. What really made the night exceptional was the service. A huge thank you to Super Mario, who took amazing care of us and made the entire evening feel effortless, warm, and special. Cucina Venti is a fairly good restaurant option near where I work and it's within walking distance to the Shashi hotel. It's an upscale italian restaurant and I've been there for small team dinners as well as large group dinners. The food tends to be overpriced for the taste, but the ambiance of the restaurant is great and the service is pretty good. The last time I was here was with 2 other people and we got angel hair pasta, ravioli, and the watermelon feta salad with arugula. I truly admire an establishment that listens to feedback and stands behind the level of service and experience one expects from fine dining. I had originally taken a fellow foodie friend to Cucina Venti for her birthday in December 2025, as we love trying new restaurants together. Unfortunately, that visit was a bit of a letdown--likely due to the busy holiday season. Christine personally reached out, took the time to listen to my feedback, and graciously invited me back. This past Saturday, I returned--and I'm so glad I did. Our server, Henry, was pleasant and attentive. We started with the Sausage & Honey Flatbread--delicious, though slightly spicy from the serrano peppers--and the beet salad, which was fresh and flavorful. For mains, we enjoyed the Halibut Filet (excellent for seafood lovers), Mary's Chicken, and the Seafood Paella. Everything was well-prepared, beautifully plated, and very enjoyable. The paella was flavorful; just note it doesn't feature the traditional Spanish socarrat--that delicate, golden crust some may expect. I ordered a medium-rare steak but received it medium. While it was replaced, no apology was given. The service was inattentive, and no one check / greeting our table during the meal. Hidden gem, located in a strip mall, walking distance from The Shoreline, which makes it a great venue for dinner before a show. We had a reservation for 10 people and was seated immediately upon arriving. Ambience and decor was stunning. Very upscale which explains the wedding pics I saw when searching this place. We were offered still or sparkling water upon being seated. The little complimentary breads which you get 2 of are heavenly with a hint of rosemary. Honestly, I liked everything about this place other than the food and drinks. It's kind of odd to say that about a restaurant but, it is what it is. The service and white linen tablecloths, tall green hedges, and decor were really lovely. It's hard to believe that you're located in the middle of a mall next to a dilapidated abandoned building. The salad was actually pretty good but the $26 cocktail was a complete miss. The $49 seafood pasta was ok but not al dente and not enough fish. I'm honestly surprised this restaurant doesn't have a better average rating because our experience was exceptional. Firstly the ambiance is very upscale, I mean can you ever have too many chandeliers? We had a large party and shared a variety of appetizers. The grilled octopus salad was super delicious and cooked really well. The calamari was also crispy and not overly chewy. For my main I had the scallops and they were absolutely divine. One of the best dishes I've had in awhile. The other things that stood out was how amazing the staff was. A water glass never empty, empty dishes cleared promptly, and great knowledge of the menu and recommendations. They even expedited a dessert since we had to head out shortly. We were in need of a place to do an early new year's celebration with our folks. So we looked around to see which places still had tables and luckily we got reservations here at Cucina Venti Restaurant. In short, lovely service, with delicious food that melts in your mouth great place for any kind of celebration, but take note and make sure to call in for inside versus outside seating. L O C A T I O N Cucina Venti Restaurant is located in Mountain View off of 101 in this tiny plaza near the Computer History Museum. I actually have been to this area before and didn't realize there was a restaurant here. There is parking but could be challenging if it's a busy night. I N S I D E We didn't really get to see the inside too much as unfortunately our reservation was for outdoor seating. It is a little dark inside with mood lighting, but it is quite pretty in there. There's only 1 restroom unfortunately which is the drawback of this place. I had to stand in a line to use it and some folks took quite some time in there. Funny enough, I went in and out so quickly that the person that was next said many thanks to me for being so efficient and quick. O U T S I D E D I N I N G It was December/January so it was a bit chilly. There are outdoor heating lamps which depending on the angle you're sitting could be burning or too far. Luckily it wasn't too bad. It is covered except on the sides. M E N U A variety of options as well as specials which is nice. We opted to get the lamb chops and the halibut and our other family members got the filet mignon and scallops. I remember the lamb being some of the best lamb I've had. It was perfectly cooked and quite flavorful without being gamey. The halibut was tender, flakey and a perfect complement to the meat we were having. Our family members devoured their food. I was actually amazed they finished it all! Dessert was just okay. I don't think I was super impressed with any of the desserts we got. But they were nice to share with everyone. This is such a beautiful spot. I came by for a cocktail to pass a little time before my drive home. I didn't want anything too strong but not to boring either. They have a beautiful cocktail menu with unique drinks and some traditional favorites. The nice bartender helped me pick a drink that was different than my usual. It was a great choice. The ambiance is the best part about the place that I have experienced so far. The gorgeous flowers and chandeliers, the lighting, the beautiful bar. Gratuity is already included in the check so be aware if you dont look at the receipt when signing. I don't really like that practice when at the bar but just keep this in mind. This had its own spice mix. I'm not normally a salad person but I enjoyed the salad, especially the olives. It was cooling and also delicious. That being said the prices are on the higher side compared to other Italian restaurants. Service: We had a large party and at lunch there wasn't many others, so we got great service. It's been over 20 years since I first came to this restaurant and it's still great! The food and service love up to their upscale image for sure. The only complaint I have is the quality of its bone in ribeye. It's cooked to perfection but the meat quality is not great. I'm looking for smooth tender buttery meat, but we got a meat that has too fiber. It's not chewy but it's not like high end meat that's buttery and smooth. You know what I mean? LOLLLL.... Service and ambiance are great. With the dark wood design, it gives you an old world luxurious feeling. Last but not least, they added gratuity to the bill already. We had our team dinner this week at this restaurant. We were a big team and had to be split up in two tables, which were not next to each other. The outdoor patio is quite nice. It was a chilly evening, but the outdoor heaters helped. We had a customized menu for our big groups and it had many vegetarian options. - House Bread: the bread was so good. Maybe we were too hungry, but the bread was gone in a minute. Very fresh and soft. - Bruschetta: this was delicious. It was perfectly seasoned and tasted great. - Zucchini Cakes: this was quite good too. The pickled cucumbers on the side had a kick to it. - Angel Hair Pasta: this was ok. Nothing great about it. The sauce felt a bit bland. I didn't eat any desserts, but my colleagues did not enjoy the desserts they got. Unfortunately our table for 9 was set up in a weird way, which the middle of our table was separated by the poles of the overhead, so it seemed like separate groups. The food was good, but not worth the price. The bruschetta was small and the bread was a bit overly crusty. The complimentary bread was good though. The duck pasta had shredded duck meat in it. The dish was tasty, but I expected the duck to be roasted and plated nicely for the price. Since the duck was shredded in, the texture felt a bit too chewy The paella was good, but they were not able to get the crispy bottom on there. It had a nice amount of seafood in it though. The braised short rib with mash was delicious, moist, and fall apart in your mouth. The halibut with risotto was delicious as well. Very good texture and flavors. The service was good, we had a birthday there and brought a cake. They were nice enough to hold the cake for us, but would have to charge us $10 per person if we wanted them to slice it for us. Even if we ate it ourselves, they said spoons we used would make them charge us $10. Overall, beautiful place with some good dishes and some okay ones. A very disappointing dining experience. We were a party of three adults, and the total bill came to $436.08, but the overall quality was nowhere near the price. The atmosphere was nice, and that was one of the very few positive aspects of this restaurant. Unfortunately, the food was far below expectations. Nearly every dish was disappointing. The appetizers were mediocre, and seeing seafood paella on the menu of an Italian restaurant was already questionable -- the actual taste was poor as well. The most unacceptable dish was the steak. The texture and flavor were both very bad, and after each of us took one bite, we left almost the entire steak untouched. We raised this issue with our server, and he said he would speak to the kitchen. When he came back, he told us that the steak was "normal." There was no adjustment, and the steak was still charged in full. I have eaten at hundreds of restaurants, and I have never had a steak in the Bay Area that was this bad and then described as "normal." That response made the experience even worse. On top of that, a 20% gratuity was automatically added to the bill. Given how disappointing both the food and the service were, the overall experience was very poor. At this price point, the restaurant should deliver much better food and a much more professional response. Unfortunately, this visit did not meet that standard at all. I came for a weekday lunch and made a reservation for 4 via OpenTable. The restaurant wasn't busy at all so I'm not sure a reservation was even needed. We all received a small 2" piece of (blueberry?) bread prior to receiving our entrees. I ordered the Harris Ranch Braised Short Ribs ($49) and it was fall apart in your mouth tender. I highly recommend this dish as all the flavors meshed very well. The portion is small for the price as I was still hungry after lunch. The restaurant was also freezing for some reason. Service was slow here during lunch. Our waters were filled throughout the course of our meal so that is a plus. There are very few holidays that celebrate the people who matter most to us, and Mother's Day is one that is rightfully deserving of that recognition. Which is why there's a certain irony in hosting a Mother's Day brunch while not allowing the children of mothers to attend. That said, I digress. Restaurants absolutely have the right to decide the kind of atmosphere they want to create, including whether or not children are allowed. My issue is not even the policy itself, it's the lack of transparency surrounding it. There is nothing on OpenTable that clearly indicates this restaurant does not allow children until AFTER you make the reservation. After brunch, I approached the staff kindly and simply suggested that it would be helpful to include a warning beforehand to prevent future families from having to suddenly send their children elsewhere and scramble to figure out how to accommodate the policy. It's honestly an easy thing to overlook when the warning is not clearly visible during the reservation process. Instead of taking constructive feedback, they seemed far more interested in proving me wrong. They proceeded to make a mock reservation to show that yes, technically, once you complete the booking process it mentions children 12 and up only. When I pointed out the lack of clarity, they explained that they do send a text. However, the child policy is buried inside a 'Terms and Conditions' link. Meanwhile, they had no trouble sending a perfectly clear, separate text asking if I'd like to 'elevate my experience' with an add-on of caviar. Apparently, the 'No Children' fine print was too heavy for a text, but there was plenty of room for a sales pitch. That is not the same thing as clearly communicating it upfront before someone commits to reserving. Our waiter was lovely, but he's carrying the weight of a management team that prefers "prove the customer wrong" over keeping a customer. But with all that said, I suppose $290 gets you four pastas, three coffees, one insanely flat Diet Coke, and four delicious freshly baked rolls roughly the size of a child's thumb, a tiny tribute to the children they refused to let in So if you've ever wanted the thrill of kicking your kid out of a brunch that was meant celebrates you for keeping them alive, just so you can be permitted to sit down and eat this is absolutely the place for you. read more

It had been a minute since we last dined here. From what we remember back then, it was a casual spot that offered good tasting food. Nowadays, Cucina Venti is more upscale and prices reflect this. However, the service and quality of their offerings has not changed. While the location (strip center) may be off-putting, you would not know it once you enter the restaurant. Just had an amazing meal. Good service. And a mandatory tip? 2 person meal where the tip was more than 2x entrees. Almost as much as an over priced bottle of wine. And upon asking why the tip for a 2 person meal is included at 20% without a choice or option. I tip well, until I'm forced. Large table, I get it. I received the mandatory, Owner mandated response, according to John. I went from being happy, satisfied, and wanting to promote the restaurant among friends, family, and clients....to feeling like I'd been pick-pocketed. The manager John helped me understand better, why I was upset about the situation and forced surcharge. . So in the course of 1 hour, I went from loving this restaurant, to I don't want to come back. John basically gave me the "too bad so sad" response. If you want to make sure you have to pay 20% extra before you know what you are getting, this is the place. If you feel a tip is voluntary and is based on service and experience, and a way to show gratitude, this is not the place. There are many great restaurants in the area that don't feel they deserve your tip, but appreciate your tip. We enjoyed a perfect evening at Cucina Venti celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary. We have been coming here for years for a special dining experience and are always impressed. David, our server was exceptional and helped to make our night memorable. The food was fantastic we especially enjoyed the Duck confit and the halibut. Desserts were beautiful and delicious. The service was great, everyone was very attentive. The restaurant is beautiful and romantic. Always our favorite! read more
