Was in the area and decided to stop by and check this spot out to grab a quick dessert. Parking was ample as it's part of a complex. Walking in, you are instantly transported - the decor and seating is gorgeous! There is indoor seating only and they had beautiful pastries displayed. We ended up going with the pistachio cheesecake and it was delicious and so unique in flavor! The person at the front was also very helpful in providing recommendations and telling us more about the cafe. We will definitely be back to try drinks and more desserts! read more

My friend and I decided to check out a new cafe we hadn't been to before. The place was super clean with a really nice interior vibe. The barista was friendly and welcoming. Right before we could order, they let us know they were out of the pistachio drink I was excited to try. So instead, I went with a chai, and my friend got a caramel macchiato, asking for it to be less sweet. My chai turned out great and had a perfect balance of sweet and bitter. But my friend took one sip of theirs and was instantly disappointed. It was way too sweet. We figured maybe they weren't able to adjust the sweetness for the caramel macchiato, but it would've been helpful to get a heads up about that. read more

Super friendly staff and nice to try something new as I've never had Yemeni chai which was unique for me. Open late and a fairly quiet space (I can't recall if there was music but it definitely wasn't overly loud inside) that is great to meet up with friends for an intimate discussion or study. Saw plenty of people studying there and the staff is so friendly! Tried a variety of desserts which were great. A bit sweet for my Asian tastebuds still not overly sweet like some American desserts. Not what you see on Yelp! Totally different business take over. The plus is they actually have really strong coffee. Very nice staff just went out of the way to get here to try some of the photos I seen, and unfortunately it was a completely different business. None of the same names for the coffee and none of the same types of drinks. Their menu is very limited.. They do have some different pastries. It's just not anything that was on the yelp menu so it was a little disappointing very pretty inside. Very nice to take some photos. We saw a reel and came to this place. The complex itself is a little shady, but once you're in, it's a really cool cafe ! They have put efforts in the decor. The desserts were super amazing ! The best one was their rose milk cake, followed by biscoff cheese cake. The other options also looked pretty appetizing. I like adding a bit of sweetness like honey and it adds a whole new flavor profile to the drink. The rose milk was moist and tasty and not overly sweet. Lotus milk cake was also delicious. Second time visiting this cafe. From ambiance to the food, everything was great. This time I brought a friend to this cafe who really enjoyed the art work, decor, service and food. I was sad that they were out of the Pistachio Latte but the owner recommended the Yemeni Tea. It was fall in a cup of tea. Lots of rich flavors! Very happy to have a Yemeni tea place in San Jose and am happy to report that the quality is better than some of the other equivalent cafes in the bay area. The prices are also reasonable - around $5 for the tea and around $8-$10 for desserts (cake slices, cheesecakes, honey milk cake, kunafeh) The desserts and savory snack variety is also quite large, the service was great and friendly and the ambience is also beautiful. I especially liked the fact that it wasn't overly crowded (busy but not crazy), and there was ample parking available in the strip mall parking lot. read more

Came to Bae Tea Coffee after a friend shared an IG reel (I admit we were influenced lol) of this new shop that opened off of Tully Road in SJ. But wow does it really live up to the hype! Not only are they open a bit later than most tea/coffee shops, they are Yemeni-based so you know their tea and coffee are strong! The inside is brightly lit with plenty of seating options for people to hang out. There's a counter displaying all their baked goods, which (again) influenced me to order one! I ordered a Yemeni chai and a Bee Bite, mainly because the name of it is so cute lol The chai tasted great, but the bee bite went so well with it! It is basically a pastry with pockets of cream cheese and honey drizzled over. Highly recommend. According to my friend, the baklava is delicious. Service was also great. It's an eventful area especially since it's close to the Eastridge Mall. The spot itself is pretty neat. You're welcomed with music from Yemen along with photos of the country, they are not shy of taking pride of their culture from the aesthetics to the food/drinks. It's more of a social, lounge, study type of spot. FOOD: Yemeni Chai (Recommend) A good kick like your usual chai, a little creamy that makes it smooth. What makes this stand out is the sweet taste of cardamom (be sure to stir) CUSTOMER SERVICE: Phil was great! Helpful with picking a drink and quick with the order. TL; DR OVERALL: 4 Stars. Visited Bae Tea for the first time last weekend & am so happy we did! The store is unassuming from the outside in a little strip mall type area but the inside is so cute & has new decor. Even though it was a little busy when we got there they made our order quickly and the staff was so helpful in answering our questions. New coffee shop in SJ! YEMEN specialized at that. I normally drive all the way to Fremont for Yemeni but glad there's something similar here closer to me. The plaza is a bit sketchy but the place really stands out. They touched the places with so designs, there are also plenty of seats. I ordered their pistachio latte with almond milk substitute. It wasn't too sweet at all and was well balanced out. My boyfriend got the IBB coffee with zero sweetness, he liked it because there were notes of cinnamon and chocolate. Black coffee lovers would probably like this. Their desserts all looked really good, I had to try their pistachio milk cake. The milk cake is a bit denser and not as wet compared to the yemeni coffee shop in Fremont. We had a nice chat with the worker there, he's super nice. Definitely recommend a try! read more

They have a good selection of specialty coffees and a wide variety of of pastries, they happened to be out of most of the baked goods when we visited today around 1 but they did let us know that they'll be restocking later in the day. I got here at 9:05 am as they are advertised to be open from 9 am to 11 pm. The door was locked and there was no one there. I thought to wait for a bit to see if anyone would come. I called the 408 number from their Google business page a few times but the number is invalid. At 9:17 am, I placed an online order for a latte to see if I'd get a message or anything. It said will be ready by 9:27 am. 9:27 am came but still, no one was there. I had even tipped as well because I planned to stay here for a while to study. I found a 559 number to text on the Google business page but no response. I also called that number and the automated voice directed me to the voicemail box as it said "You reached Bae Tea Coffee, please leave a message and we will get back to you" like what? It's 9:30 am now, and I'm pretty upset I waited almost 30 minutes yet they're still not open as advertised. I guess they just open whenever they want? When we walked in, my boyfriend and I really liked the decor. We ordered the adeni chai, mangolicious, bee bites, and biscoff cheesecake. Everything was delicious but the highlights were the drinks. One of the best adeni chais I've tasted and I've had a good amount at other Yemeni coffee shops. The mangolicious had good flavor, they definitely use high quality ingredients. My friends and I ordered iced chai teas, and a biscoff latte. We also ordered several of the desserts. You can place your order on a self service screen or with an employee. My favorite desserts were the tres leeches and the rose milk cake. The baklava had a great flavor but was a little on the dry side. Ore cheesecake was really good too. The pomegranate pistachio dessert was not my thing but my friends were obsessed with it. I wasn't a fan of the chewy texture of it. We all enjoyed our beverages. I think next time I'll go with the extra sweet option for my chai tea. I think the iced watered down the sweetness a bit. Overall we enjoyed everything. The decor is super cute. Was excited to see a local coffee shop on Tully! I came in during a weekday. I love the interior in here and the fact that it's Sharks themed. I tried the Horchata Chai and it was pretty good! I personally don't like my drinks too sweet, and even though this drink was sweet I enjoyed the taste. There is a lot of seating here and WiFi available to come in and do some work. Came here to check out the coffee menu and was pleasantly surprised to see quite a spread. The dessert offerings also look very interesting. We had the IBB Coffee and a mango smoothie. The IBB Coffee is made with cardamom, cinnamon and evaporated milk. Very smooth and a balanced flavor. Spices were not overpowering. I asked for no sugar but the server probably didn't hear my order right. But he made sure to let us know that he had added a small amount of sugar. To that, I think that was a good choice! The Mangolicious smoothie was nothing to shout about. It was delicious. Don't think it was made fresh. The fig, hazelnut and honey dessert was a true highlight. Not a big fan of super sweet food but I couldn't resist anything fig. The texture is chewy and nutty. While the honey is subtle, the combination of these 3 components in addition to the pistachio powder on the outside makes each bite absolutely delightful. The coffee shop is simple (was there during the day) and mostly clean. Seats may have some crumbs. If there's anything I would suggest to improve on -- keep the temperature down especially during a warm/hot day. Felt a little stuffy. Otherwise, staff was good. Parking was easy. read more

Came here for some afternoon tea with some friends, and the place wasn't too packed but there was only 1 barista working the entire shop. The tablet ordering system was down so he had to juggle taking orders, making drinks, and serving food. We all waited at least 40 minutes for some tea and cakes to be plated, which was frustrating but I don't blame the worker as he was probably overwhelmed. I've been meaning to try this place after seeing it pop up on Yelp and also on Instagram. We decided to try the Iced Strawberry Cream Matcha and the Iced Churro Latte. The Strawberry wasn't super overpowering and in fact tasted like nostalgia (similar to Nesquik strawberry milk) and blended well with the Matcha. The Iced Churro Latte was a perfect balance between a bold flavor and great hint of churro. Both are great recommendations to take! It's also nice to know this is owned by someone who grew up here in the area. The owner (I'm assuming) is a cool guy and greets everyone who enters. They do events here for the local community and kids in need which is awesome. The interior is super cute, complete with comfy chairs and lovely artwork. The menu is pretty extensive and has your typical coffee shop offerings in addition to the Yemeni/Turkish coffee items. I'd say the prices feel a little high across the board I liked the zatar and cheese pastry that I got. The flavors complemented each other well and it was great as a snack. Decided to check this shop out since the one in Fremont is too far. Tried the iced pistachio latte and sadly it was very average and nowhere near close to the one in Fremont. The coffee taste is good but the pistachio flavor is weak. There's no actual pistachio butter like the other one: it only used pistachio syrup. The price is also pretty high. The shop is in quite a random plaza with most of the shops are Vietnamese. Parking is decent. The shop has fair amount of seatings so it's a decent choice if you want a place to sit down and have a decent cup of coffee. read more

Bae Tea has a beautiful interior and traditional Yemeni and Turkish coffee as well as interesting flavors like a lotus biscoff latte. My friend & I met here for coffee, I got an iced ube latte and she got an iced cookie butter latte. Ordered at the kiosk but the man who made our orders was very nice.
