    pistachio berry croissant and cubano
    Angela H.

What a lovely lil cafe! This coffee shop is located right across from SJSU on E San Carlos Street. Parking is generally available on the street, and there are some spots in a private lot behind the shop as well. I came on a weekday afternoon and it wasn't too busy. The cafe has light wood tones throughout, with plenty of tables throughout. The baristas were friendly and helpful in explaining the menu and various selections! I ordered the cubano and the berry pistachio croissant, both of which came out quickly. I thought the cubano was delicious and well-balanced, and the croissant was warm, toasted, and buttery, pairing perfectly with the jam filling. I overall loved my order. I was pleasantly surprised by my trip here, and I'll definitely come back to sample the other pastries and coffee options.

Omg, I loved coming to this cafe. First of all, the coffee is amazing. I had never experienced a coffee flight the way they have one and am excited to go back one day.

Been several times. Always something new to try. Quality roasts. And coffee flights, what?!

I spotted this place near the San Jose University, the table outside with the chess bought my attention. So I decided to check it out and I have to admit the coffee is delicious! There are classic and signature options, coffee flights and ... very interesting croissants (I tried pistachio version, delicious!). The staff is just amazing. Also, There is a typewriter in the restroom! That's like a hidden gem itself from the museum:) Parking is available along the street and behind the building.

Came here with my friends as part of the San Jose coffee passport stops. It's a cute cafe right next to San Jose state. We had a selection of coffee and pastries. Everything tasted great and the baristas were super sweet to us. Definitely worth a stop by!

AM Craft is a cute little spot. They have some unique latte flavors, which I always appreciate. The staff were really nice, too. The only downsides are that the parking lot at the little shopping area has very few spots (and a very steep ramp that'll cause your car to bottom out), and the shopping area is kind of rundown. Their shop is pretty nice, given the surroundings, though. Definitely give one of their fancy latte flavors a try. They are pretty good.

I've been coming here for months and let me just say, they are the real deal! Honestly one of the best coffees in the Bay Area that not only focus on quality but bringing out the flavor notes in each coffee / espresso. Super friendly staff and they always go beyond to help or answer questions. This place is a gem!

Good spot for folx who like creamy lattes. I've had a few of their drinks over the years and my top recommendation is the Toasted Marshmallow for a latte. I appreciate that their drinks are not overly sweet; they are just a little too creamy for my taste. Service: Staff is friendly, and service is quick. Ambiance: The café is on the smaller side but has a bar area, indoor seating, and some outdoor seating. There is plenty of natural light inside and is minimally decorated with warm tones.

Discovered this cute little cafe in downtown SJ during a gap and it was a pleasant experience! The interior gives off a minimal/clean aesthetic while actually being tidy and wiped down. There is minimal seating inside and outside. A menu is posted outside, but you'll find another copy inside along with free water. For those dining in, there is a small cart to leave your used glasses and plates/trays. There was a large group ahead of me, but the actual time it took for my drink to be made was fairly short :D DRINK: *Matcha latte (hot) -- I am most definitely coming back to order this because the quality and price are by far the best I've ever had! With the matcha craze these days, I appreciate a cozy shop like this that won't make you break your break for a sweet treat or energy boost. You can choose between whole milk and oat milk (I went w/ whole). Despite not being asked about sweetness adjustments, it was perfectly "not too sweet" while maintaining a satisfyingly potent matcha flavor. I'm not exactly sure how to describe it, but it tastes more like matcha offered in European cafe's rather than Japanese matcha dessert places. Either way, it was delicious and my cousin kept wanting to take some sips of this latte after we left XD The latte art and creamy foam on the surface was such a lovely surprise too! Comparable to La Lune Sucree's which is also in downtown SJ, but this is now my new local favorite. PARKING: Customers can find residential parking and walk or meter parking. My drink was made pretty quickly, so this is a great spot for grab and go!

I got an espresso and a cortado. The espresso didn't look as dark as I was expecting and didn't have crema but it wasn't bitter or burnt. The cortado was well balanced. Based on the other photos I might give it another try if I'm in the area.

Coffee tastes like garbage. The guy was not welcoming. He may of done something to make it taste like that. I don't know. But a waste of money.

What an awesome experience! All around! The vibes are super chill here! Who would've known drinking a cup of coffee with a delicious pastry would be this exciting! The owners were super friendly! It looks like there's some regular customers when I was there! That's really cool that they take time to know there customers! I ordered the toasted marshmallow latte. I got it hot. This was so good! And the ube croissant is a must! I can't wait to go back. I just moved to the neighborhood so I'll definitely be back to visit to try more from there menu!

    Toasted Marshmallow

Ultra-cozy, friendly staff, their toasted marshmallow is excellent. They even came thru w/ a stapler and a charger for my airpods when I didnt have access to either! AM Craft is a soothing respite in DTSJ.

Parking is close, but you will need to pay after 90 minutes (which can get pricey if you plant there). I want to call out that the decor of Playbook has not changed much from that of Voyager's resident there. The only big difference is the vinyl that you get your drinks out of (which is a small change). When you get to Playback, there is a kiosk located near the front entry to order drinks. While this is convenient and typical for drink places, I do think it removes the homey feel to cafes that you get when you can interact with their baristas, and the layer of community is a bit disconnected. While I was there, I ordered the Teddy Graham latte to try out since it seemed like one of their staple drinks when I did my research. The drink itself was good, toasted, with a nice subtle graham flavor. I would say though for $9 per drink, it was overpriced. Overall, to be honest, this is a good area to work, and study with friends, I would come back here for this alone. I would think of the extra drink cost as work from home fee/tax. :)

The flavors were rich and smooth, and the sweetness level was perfect and not overpowering, just really balanced. The salted coffee had this amazing creamy, slightly salty foam that made every sip so good. We also tried the breakfast PÂTÉ CHAUD--both the pork and the spinach--and wow... they were soooo good. The pastry was perfectly flaky and warm, and the fillings were super flavorful. It was the perfect pairing with the coffee. The whole experience was great--great drinks, great food, and a spot we'll definitely be coming back to. Highly recommend if you're looking for amazing Vietnamese coffee and a delicious breakfast bite!

I've never had a pate chaud before but it was super similar to other Asian savory pastries and I enjoyed it a lot. They also serve other foods such as spam musubis and other flavors of pate chaud as well as many different kinds of Vietnamese coffees and matchas with fun flavors such as egg, coconut, durian, ube, etc! The interior was pretty cute and cozy with clean looking decor. People were chillin' and chatting with friends or even working on their laptops while waiting or eating and drinking. It took a bit of a wait to get our food but it was tasty, I'd definitely come back to try one of their drinks and maybe get a dac biet banh mi next time.

Jovanna has such an amazingly kind and effervescent personality. Seeing the staff really brightens my day before I even have my first sip of coffee! Gabbie is super fun to chat with and knowledgeable, too. Literally everyone, from top to bottom, is a nice person who's passionate about the fine drinks they produce. It really warms my heart when people show a great amount of care and respect for their craft. I was a coffee noob a few months ago, and have received an amazing education from the team. I really just want to say, from the bottom of my heart, thank you! Keep doing right by your customers and your products. 5/5, no notes! P.S. The Guatemala-origin coffee is crazy amazing. I've gone through pounds of the stuff. On a serendipitous day a few weeks ago, I even got to meet the grower who was in town visiting the Park Ave location. Where else can you find that type of commitment to excellence?!
