As someone that is always disappointed by oolong milk teas everywhere else (including Molly, wushiland, chagee, chicha), I've finally found a place that is actually reminiscent of the ones I've had in literal China. I hear they do sell out of this drink, but I've been able to order it the handful of times I've gone (and it was good everytime) I do love tea jelly usually, but I didn't feel like it was flavorful enough, at least it didn't stand out in the drink I ordered. I love that the screen is very accurate with updates of orders ready and in progress. There's also SO MUCH seating for a tea shop! I love that there's spaces for groups of all sizes! 5 stars for the drinks. 1 star for the service because why does it take 25 minutes to make two drinks when there are literally two people ahead of me and room full of people working. The kids who work here have no lack of urgency or customer service skills. I've worked at boba places when I was there age and have always been sure to greet and thank customers and make their drinks quickly. While I was there, the shift lead was training a new hire and as a former shift lead myself, that was such poor training. If mobile orders are piling up, or you notice that customers are waiting a while for their drinks that's when you step in to help the trainee! Charlie's Tea is one of the many Chinese tea stores making its way to the Bay Area, and I was quite impressed! I anticipated a wait but seems like the hype died down. I had plenty of time to decide what to order, and drinks came out reasonably quick. They also offer toppings here which is nice, though it is a pricier addition ($1.29 for boba?!) Overall, I think their tea is solid, but they definitely specialize in fruit-flavored milk teas. I say avoid the plain milk teas as they aren't anything special and IMO are less tea forward than Molly Tea. RECS: + Green grape jasmine milk tea ($6.99) was SO good! I've never had anything like it. New location in Cupertino Village for boba! I went during grand opening and a few times after; the line has died down by now and the service is very quick, so I got my drink inside of 10 minutes. The interior is really cozy with lots of comfortable seating; you place your order on the kiosk and then go inside to wait. The drinks, cups, and menu all remind me of Molly Tea, with the signature straw and focus on tea. I got the green grape jasmine, which had a nice grape flavor that punched through the fragrant tea. Charlie's Tea is in NorCal!!!! Such a coincidence to discover this when I just got back from SoCal where my friend was raving about it in San Gabriel. I had never heard of it and liked it when she bought me a Clovershrub Milk Tea ($6.99) because it was tea forward. So excited to have one in Cupertino! Perfect to have dinner at the plaza, get Charlie's Tea after, then walk around while you wait for your order. It was crowded as expected with 2 ordering screens, but the line went by quickly. They had a large TV with your order progress. The interior was way bigger than I expected with lots of seating, but generally all taken up with people waiting or working. Huge sucker for Jasmine tea so definitely had to check this place out when I heard they top Molly Tea! I tried the coconut jasmine along with the matcha jasmine milk tea. The jasmine tea here is very strong and fragrant at 50%, with a slight hint of bitterness that makes it even better. I honestly do believe the jasmine flavor is better and stronger than Molly Tea's, but the drink choices here are not as extravagant; pretty basic. The Matcha Jasmine Milk Tea which I had at 70% sweet had a great matcha flavor and was very smooth, but I prefer the coconut jasmine which felt lighter yet more creamy. They need to fix the organization here. I arrived at 4:30pm on a Sunday and it was pretty busy inside. Luckily there was a kiosk available so I ordered on there. I really like the modern wooden interior. The staff told us that two drinks were ready, but one Rice Wine & Osmanthus Oolong was still pending because they ran out of taro bubbles and needed a few more minutes to make them. We were willing to wait, but after checking with them multiple times, they kept saying the taro bubbles were still being made. After waiting another 15+ min, we decided to request a refund because the wait had become unreasonable. Suddenly, the staff realized that one drink had already been ready the entire time! If we had not asked for a refund, would we have ever received it? The worst part is that one drink we finally received did not even have the taro bubbles we were waiting for; it came with regular boba! If the topping was unavailable, the staff should have informed us upfront and offered alternatives instead of making us wait 45 min for a drink that was not made as ordered. It wasn't great but it wasn't bad, but I think the drink tasted comparable to tenren (but tenren is cheaper). I guess there was a lot of hype around this spot because the lines were still very long despite not having any deals or being opening day. There are 2 self-ordering kiosks to my our left when you walk in. Many items were sold out at 2:20pm on Saturday afternoon. The interior is modern and chic and there seems to be a lot of seating. There's just SO many people standing around waiting for their orders. A slight breeze from their AC isn't helping in the heat given the amount of bodies in the store and the front door remaining open. There doesn't seem to be too many people woking. It took over 40 minutes to get our drinks (from the time of ordering), and there was probably another 20-30min of waiting in line. They didn't have too many plain tea drinks, but I ended up getting the lemon jasmine green tea (with lemon pulp) under the fruit drinks sections. The jasmine tea was really good and fragrant, and i probably could have skipped the lemon. They should have considered logistics for their demand: 1. have more hands on deck for the first few weekends after opening, and 2. hand out paper menus for people in line so they are ready to order by the time they get to the kiosk The paper menu picture i only found after finding a seat while waiting for the drinks. Also, while waiting, it's pretty difficult to hear the numbers being called out, and the screen is hard to see. They need a better system or need to update their system to something that makes more sense for this early demand. The bags are cute and they have different colored straws. I kept hearing about Charlie's Tea from my friends and decided to come on a weekday to beat the long lines during grand opening. I came around 12:40PM and the line was pretty short. There are two kiosks and the line moves pretty fast. After about 10 minutes of waiting, I ordered the Grape Jasmine Milk Tea (recommended by my friend) and Phoenix Oolong Milk Tea (my personal choice). The workers are pretty fast so I only had to wait about 5 minutes for my order. The inside area is also spacious and aesthetic! Went here on a Saturday around 8pm with my friends, it was the BOGO deal for the weekend, and it was a huge line when we arrived. PARKING: in a plaza center, but there is a parking garage if you can't find any available parking during peak hours. PLACE: pretty big, and there is multiple seatings and everything. We got a table with 4 chairs. There is a number on a TV that tells you what they are preparing & if your order is ready. They call you through an intercom of your number. Also there are two kiosk machines, and you can probably get your order taken by a cashier but it is recommended to do the kiosk since they need everybody to help to make drinks. You can also adjust sweetness, ice, etc. DRINKS: Ceylon Black with Pecan Cream Top - so good, kind of tastes similar to Oolong in a way, I wish they added more pecans, but they only had so many options available. New fav spot for whipped cream with pecan milk teas!!!!! The Ceylon Black with Pecan Cream Top (with less ice) is sooo good that I almost finished it before my bf even started the car. Good balance of milk, cream, sweetness, and tea. Oh and their candied pecans - SOO good and nice size for a crunch. My bf got the Jasmine Green Milk Tea with Mixed boba (less ice, lactose free milk). Also good and refreshing. Menu is not very big/not much options, but it's okay since I will only be getting my fav drink :) Line was kind of long/busy. Order through kiosks (2). Their screen to display the orders (preparing vs ready for pickup) seemed to be down at the time/not updating properly? For the cream drinks, it was interesting that they keep asking people during pickup if they want the cream and topping on the side or in the drink. Just a thought, but maybe have that option during the ordering process? I personally assume the drink that I order will just come as is. But I get if some people might want it separate. I ordered the Jasmine Green Milk tea and I would rate it 3.5/5. The flavor is there but the drink I got was too milky for my preference. I think it would taste better with the tea stronger! Their tea jelly was delicious though especially knowing that not many places have that option. The store is cute but crowded! I went during their first opening days and got 12% off, but it took about 15 minutes to order and 40 minutes for the drinks to come out. Totally understandable as it was a busy crowd. Charlie's Tea is the latest addition to the milk tea scene in Cupertino. It's better known in the UK but has begun to expand in LA and now the Bay Area. Parking might be difficult since it is a busy plaza. The soft opening attracted a long line! There are two kiosks to order from. The phoenix oolong milk tea has a darker roasted flavor. Green grape jasmine milk tea has a subtle grape flavor that isn't overwhelming. Ceylon black milk tea with pecan cream top was creamy. The cream top disappeared quickly but mixed well into the tea. Oosmanthus oolong milk tea was floral! The shop's aesthetic is very much like the indoor and outdoor of a cute cafe. The cups and bags have a classy look to them! Stopped by Charlie's Tea today for their first day of soft opening & they were having a 12% off soft opening deal beginning today for three days. They don't currently have their full menu, but there were definitely enough items I wanted to try. They had one self ordering machine that was working, and one was offline, so it took about 10 minutes to get to order. They were also getting a lot of orders in since many people were ordering multiple drinks, but they were fast with making the drinks. We ordered the Green Grape Jasmine Milk Tea, Jasmine Milk Tea, Phoenix Oolong Milk Tea and Lemon Phoenix Oolong Fruit Tea. My favorite of the bunch was the Green Grape Milk Tea because it tastes like Muscat candy to me. It is on the sweet side, so only 50% sweet or less would be perfect for this. They initially messed up my drinks because for one of them, I put it down as 70% sweet and no ice, but they ended up giving me 70% ice and no sweet. I told them about it and they apologized and made me the correct drink right away, which I appreciated, so definitely getting the stars for the service even though they were swamped. Would definitely be back when I'm in the area to try the other drinks. This location is in the Cupertino Village, so parking is a bit tough with all the other eateries in the plaza. read more

I came here one weekend afternoon, this area is pretty busy on the weekends - making it a little difficult to find parking. The interior is nicely designed, great spot to study/work/hang out at too. Anywho, tried their Jasmine Green Milk Tea with Brown Sugar Boba. The drink itself was fine, decent jasmine flavor in the milk tea, nice chewiness of the boba. I used the default sweetness they suggested which was fine, not too sweet. The cups on the drinks are very pretty and aesthetic. Similar to Molly Tea, but personally Molly Tea has downgraded in so many ways that Charlie's Tea might be my new go-to in terms of savoring tea. I can only recommend the green grape jasmine milk tea at the moment. I wanna try their other teas but I didn't like the ceylon black with pecan cream top as much as I wanted to (prob cuz I got the lowest amt of sug) but at least you can still taste the strong tea flavor. Staff will ask if you'd like the cream top on the side or on ur drink, which is a nice gesture. Different types of straws are free to grab. They also offer spoons for the cream top. Layout is quite nice esp seating area. Would love to come back if I'm ever in the area again. Hope they open another location but in the East Bay! read more

My friend and I got the Green Grape Jasmine Milktea, Ceylon Black with Pecan Cream Top, Clovershrub Tea with Hazelnut Cream Top, and Peach Oolong Milktea. All drinks were great, definitely similar to a 65% sweetness. It's similar to Molly Tea in that aspect. My favorite was the Clovershrub Tea with Hazelnut Cream Top, very reminiscent to old milktea flavors like iTea.
