Just a quick update on trying a new cake flavor. Passion fruit guava strawberry is not my cup of tea. Too much cream and a tad too sweet for me. Service and delivery is consistently good. I still like the black sesame blueberry hojicha the most.
We loved their lychee strawberry cake! The cake was made with fresh ingredients, delicious and very soft.
My initial ordering experience was great with MCourse, but a year later was not so great. We had a 5 star experience last year for our pups birthday, the packaging and flavors were absolutely spot on. Along with the key reason we ordered-- having a customizable topper. Now, more recently my second not so much. I know I asked for an earlier pickup but would have just appreciated the communication earlier about the topper. Her printer broke down and was unable to print the image on the cupcake-- which was a big part of the celebration for our friend. That's understandable but she did not ask any follow-up questions on the text printing for a topper or give an option for design, to say the least it is disappointing. I wish there was a better font and design choice for the topper esp with the last minute change. Some of the font is covered. She did refund the cost which was appreciated, but I'd rather pay more to have the right topper request or some other options. We had a 5 star experience last year, so just adjusting down a star given the printer mishap. Pickup was smooth.
I found M Course through Yelp, since I was searching for a place that offers vegan and gluten free desserts since some of our party guests have allergies. I decided to reach out for a quote for a customized frosting strawberry shortcake buttercream cake and their ube ube vegan and gluten free cupcakes. Megan was easy to work with and responded within a few days after I sent my request. I sent photos of the color scheme/party theme I was going for for the cake and included that I would need delivery. We sent some emails back and forth confirming the details, delivery timeframe, etc. She accepts payment via Paypal, Zelle, and Venmo. Her payment details are in her email signature. She offers delivery service (price may depend on how far you are; it was $10 for me), or local pick up at 10am or 3pm. Her cake prices are reasonable compared to many other places I've gotten quotes from. Come the day of the party -- I received a text message that the cake and cupcakes were dropped off at the venue. The cake and cupcakes were delivered without any issues. Everyone enjoyed both the cake and cupcakes! The cakes were moist and not too sweet! I am so glad I found M Course through Yelp and look forward to working with them again for any future events!
Few places offer cakes with black sesame (which my mom loves) as a component and I'm so glad I found this by accident because the hojicha cake with black sesame and blueberry that I ordered was phenomenal! The flavors go surprisingly well together. The cake itself was dense and a little more moist but solid, and each of the flavors shone through clearly. We will definitely be purchasing the other unique flavors to try out in the future. I hope they continue baking these wonderful treats! As for ordering - I contacted them through the website about picking up a cake on a specific date and received an email with instructions and pickup options (10 am or 3 pm at a specific location). Payment can be sent through Zelle, Venmo, or Paypal 2-5 days in advance, and pickup was very smooth as well - I was sent a reminder an hour before and the make/model of the car they'd be arriving in and could provide my info as well so they'd locate me easily. I got there earlier and they basically just parked and handed me the cake quickly!
I put in an inquiry on the cream puffs since I read such great reviews on them, but sadly they are not being offered anymore. My request was responded to the very next day. Their website had all pertinent information such as size, price, flavor, product such as fresh cream cakes, buttercream cakes, and cupcakes. If you have dietary restrictions such as gluten-free or if you want your dessert egg-less, they can make it happen. I don't know if I've tried ube but I know my sister likes it very much. Her birthday was yesterday but had plans so I ordered for pickup today so I can drop it off for her. There are 2 pickup time slots. They will wait approx. 15 min. before driving off. I was late because I got the time mixed up. I was able to contact them via email and was so grateful it was responded to right away. They were able to return w/in 20 min. otherwise I could would have needed to opted for the 3PM pickup window. They were so sweet, and I felt so bad for being 5 min. late. I got to the pickup location at 10:19AM. The pickup time is at 10AM. Though I did not get to try the cake, the cake itself was beautiful and carefully packaged. My sister and my mom complimented the cake for not being too sweet. It was light, too. It looked really delicious. I will have to wait till they offer all chocolate buttercream cakes or all chocolate fresh cream cakes. I am not a fruit person, but I was so glad that I was able to find this place on Yelp. Thanks to my Yelp friends for the wonderful reviews otherwise I would have passed on it. Thank you, Mia and Megan!!! I'm sorry again for having you turn around today.
I love the Pandan Mango cake! I ordered the 8 inch to congratulate my boyfriend and was able the order the day before. Everyone enjoyed it! To order you go on the website and email them your info and they will get back to you shortly. But I would advise to order in advance just so you can get a time slot for pick up! Overall, great service and cake was moist and flavorful, it was not too sweet which is something I look for in cake but flavorful!
The two ladies who run this shop are so sweet (hah!) The 6 inch cakes are super tall and more filling than I expect, so it usually feeds our party of 6-8 just fine and with leftovers! The cakes are delicious, with my only complaint being that sometimes they're just a tad too sweet, usually due to the fruit curd/jam, or a little too rich like with the chocolate cake, but that might be a personal preference. I'm rounding up from a 4.5 to a 5 because the order/pickup process as well as the presentation of the cake is just so easy. You submit an order on their website, they email you back pretty promptly with questions and an invoice, you confirm your pickup time, pay, and then you go pick it up at the location they specify in their email! It's a park with decent amount of parking but you're in and out quick. Would definitely order again!
Light and delicious! I first ordered a bunch of mini cupcakes for my daughters' 100 day celebration and loved their guava flavor the most. Very moist, fruity, light, and the perfect bites. They have seasonal specials for a very limited time. This year for thanksgiving, they made the cutest mini pies that I couldn't resist or miss! They were actually pretty big. Order of sweetness by my palate: Banana cream pie with toffee and caramel -- thought this was super light, even the banana flavor. The crunchy topping was a nice touch! Pumpkin pie -- also not sweet at all. Cheesecake -- lightly sweet and creamy Bourbon pecan pie -- definitely the sweetest (too sweet for me) Pickup was a breeze. They set a pick up time and wait 15 min max for you. Will order again!

I've had 3 birthday cakes from MCourse. They make my fave cakes and will continue to order for all my bdays! I've gotten a matcha strawberry black sesame ( sad they don't have that anymore), a passion fruit guava, and an Earl grey one. I actually don't enjoy other cakes from anywhere else.
Ordered a Sesame Cake with Strawberry Compote and Matcha Cream Frosting and it was delicious! I had so much trouble deciding on which cake to order for my brother's birthday since I had a short turnaround after the other place couldn't fulfill my order anymore on Lunar New Year weekend. I wanted to support a small, local bakery since it was for my brother's 30th birthday and wanted something special for it. I found MCourse through Yelp and was intrigued by their unique flavors. I had so much trouble deciding on which one but ultimately ended with the Sesame one since my brother enjoys those flavors. The cake got the a lot of compliments--it's the right amount of sweetness, flavors are good together, the cake looks pretty, where did you get it from?, and so on! The communication was pretty seamless with Megan and Mia communicating and they confirmed on the day of pick up. I would overall give it a 4.5 but decided to go down to 4 stars because the texture is pretty crumbly and hard to cut/eat, I prefer cakes to be more moist and fluffy so not the best cake I've ever had but still really good. FYI, they don't customize the message and only offer generic ones like, "Happy Birthday."
I had bookmarked this place for a while after I saw that they had a fresh cream cake with black sesame. They offered other cakes with some unique flavor combinations as well. I filled out the form on their website a couple of weeks before my husband birthday, and noticed that their prices had increased recently. The regular 6" black sesame blueberry hojicha cost $55. Megan responded in email within 2 days as expected. Her payment instructions were very clear, and we agreed to meet at their designated community park at 10am on Sunday. (They would also do delivery with an additional cost.) An hour before our meeting time, she sent a text with the make/model/color of their car, as well as, some dessert care instructions. They arrived on time. The cake was carefully packaged and included a "Happy Birthday" paper topper. The cake was really good. It was fresh and airy; the black sesame taste really stood out; the blueberry jam was delicious and not too sweet; the hojicha fresh cream was light and flavorful. While we all really enjoyed the cake, it's very pricey, and it's a 20-min drive from home to pick it up at one of the two time choices. read more

I preordered these cupcakes for super bowl Sunday on wednesday and they were super fast with a response. The cupcakes are delicious. Not too sweet and the mini cupcake size is perfect. The inside is perfectly moist and the cream is super fluffy. This tray of cupcakes came out to $153 which i think is on the pricer side but definitely really delicious read more
I ordered the 6" hojicha black sesame blueberry cake. Communication was smooth. I was sent a text reminder an hour before my pick up time. I arrived early, but she arrived early as well. The cake was carefully packed, and it survived my trip home + to the venue. It also fits in the Trader Joe's insulated bag w/ice if anyone is wondering how to transport it. I can actually taste the nutty flavor + the cake is moist and soft so I actually ate a bigger slice than I intended to. I got the cake for my fiancés birthday, but we're basically using his birthday as an excuse for me to try out this cake LOL. I'm pretty sure I could eat half of this cake easily. However, I purposely got this 6" because I've always had leftovers cake before and I didn't want to waste them. read more

What an amazing bakery! I chose MCourse because of the amazing reviews and they did not disappoint! I think there were only 2 cupcakes left, which I was excited to enjoy for myself! The elegance of their delicious desserts was the cherry on top celebrating my baby girls Sweet 16. I ordered their strawberry fresh cream cake, vanilla milk cupcakes, milk and cereal cupcakes and ube cupcakes were pure perfection! The presentation, the flavors, the ease of working with them, I can't stress enough how easy they made the dessert portion of party planning. Many of their flavors can be made vegan, which is a rarity, and made me very excited to order. I got a mini cupcakes order of their birthday confetti flavor and the flavor was good and the price was right. Just make sure to let the cupcakes get to room temp - there's a big flavor difference and improvement when they're not cool from keeping them in the fridge. Megan was accommodating and let me change my pickup time to a day later so a friend who lives near the pickup spot could do the pickup on my behalf. I look forward to trying other flavors in the near future. read more

Since I don't live near the area but would be in the area on a particular day, I messaged to inquire about the pick up time. Got a pretty prompt response and was told that they have two pick-up times available. I then ordered online and paid and was given a location for pick up. The pick up was right on time and was smooth. Ordered the Passion Fruit Guava Strawberry Fresh Cream Cake(guava cake | guava jam with fresh strawberries | passion fruit whipped cream). I couldn't really taste any guava or strawberry. To me, the passion fruit taste was the most prominent. Nevertheless, the texture of the cake was very light and airy and not overly sweet. MCourse offers truly unique flavors, using real fruits, in a cake that's not too sweet. All their flavors sound truly magical and it was extremely difficult to choose just one cake flavor. I've had the opportunity to try their passionfruit guava strawberry cake and their cupcake sampler on two different occasions. The ordering process is unique - you submit an interest form via their website and wait for a response. They'll get back to you about pricing, delivery/pick up, and answer any questions you have. Once you're ready to lock in the order, you can pay via cash, Zelle, Venmo, and PayPal. The day of the pick up, you'll receive a text message confirmation and they'll provide details of what to look out for at the pick up location, which is at a park in Santa Clara. The Passionfruit Guava Strawberry Cream Cake - The cake decor is minimal, but gorgeous. As the smallest size available, the 6 inch cake was more than enough for 6 people, with leftovers the following day. This cake embodied all our favorite tropical flavors, but we found the cake part to be a bit dry (the cake crumbs were just falling apart when we inserted our forks). Nevertheless, the flavor was delicious - but we were a bit disappointed. We figured, perhaps just a hiccup in the baking process and we were excited to try more flavors The Cupcake Sampler - Again, an incredible offer of a huge variety of flavors. There wasn't one flavor that we disliked. The chocolate and cookies and cream cupcakes were very moist. However, some of the other cupcakes were a bit on the drier end. Our favorites were: matcha strawberry, strawberry shortcake, and (surprisingly) ube! We aren't big fans of ube, but the flavor was very mellow. Overall - It's a bit pricey, but you will get flavors you can't order elsewhere. In terms of the consistency of the cake, I'm not sure if we just got an unlucky cake, but we were disappointed when some of the cupcakes were dry too. We made sure to eat the cake and cupcakes same day as well. Hence, the 4-star rating instead of 5. read more

"10 Stars" for MCourse!!! I'm so happy I found MCourse!! They have the "BEST Cupcakes" is an understatement!! I ordered total of 7 dozens cupcakes split up into 2 events, my son's birthday party and birthday celebration at school. All the flavors we ordered were nuts free and they were incredibly delicious! All my guests were raving about the cupcakes on how the cupcakes were the BEST cupcakes they have ever had. I didn't have ANY cupcakes leftover from the party. I even have friends calling me the next day that the cupcakes still taste incredibly yummy the next day. Oh, and I MUST mention "UBE COOKIES N CREAM" is holly smoking DELICIOUS!!!!! The entire ordering, communication, delivery, and pickup experiences were smooth and Megan was pleasant to work with. I will definitely order cupcakes from MCourse again!!! read more
Incredible quality. Burnt almond cake. Crunchy almonds that didnt grt soggy a day later. Cake and almonds and buttercream work well together. Ate the entire cake by myself. Much better rhan the original. The buttercream is applied lightly to add just enough moisture and sweetness to match the almknd flavored cake with a strong contrast in textures between soft cake creamy frosting and crunchy almonds. Never had this in any previous interpretations from other bakeries. They figured out some secret to get the almonds crunchy and to keep them crunchy. read more

My bf surprised me with literally ube everything on my bday! 4 inch ube cake - it was sooooo pretty!! Such a clean design with little glittery touches. The cake itself is moist and can probably feed 6-8 people since it's so tall. Wasn't the biggest fan of the icing though, felt like the ratio was too much icing vs. cake. ube cupcakes - they had ube cream in the center!! was a bit dry compared to the cake but still good ube cream puffs - my favorite of the 3! such a light dessert with SOOO much cream. it's a messy dessert to eat but flavorful, creamy and light. read more

Was looking for a unique cake for my mom's birthday and came across MCourse via Yelp. When I saw they made guava cakes - I was sold! My mom loves guava and any other tropical fruit so I knew she would appreciate this. The cake was so moist and it wasn't too sweet. Communication with them was very easy and I was glad I was able to place an order given the short amount of time I had to get a cake! I definitely want to try out the other flavors like earl grey so I'll be a returning customer for sure. read more

This is one of those local, catering small businesses which also acts as a small online bakery, so without an actual storefront or shop location. You contact them online (email), discuss what you want, and they'll give you a range of available weekend pickup days and timeslots to choose from. Then you'll go to the location they specify to get your bundle of food from their car. It sounds sketchy, but it's really legit. My understanding is that they rent and work out of an industrial kitchen, hence the need to meet at another location. And, of the times we've gone, there were a number of other people waiting for pickup as well. Payment wise, they accept Venmo, cash, and credit card (card requires an additional 3% fee), and you can pay them upon pickup or ahead of time. Check out their seasonal specials and promos, they get changed up. MCourse has their custom cakes and usual cream puffs (my favorite being their vanilla custard), but I've found their specials to be super interesting. A while back, we got their strawberry and mango milk jam mochifins (mochi muffins) special. These things were both cute and delicious. They don't have it anymore, but I did manage to get their Halloween special, Ghost Town, which was a matcha cake with orange frosting. The "ordering two weeks ahead of time" is for their custom cakes, not for the specials and promos. And while more bakeries are doing more tea-flavored stuff now, I appreciate MCourse's selection of tea-flavors. Not only do they have Thai Tea, but when they do a matcha cake it's distinctively an actual MATCHA cake. They've definitely mixed actual matcha tea or powder into the Ghost Town cake we got. Also, always appreciate another place doing burnt almond. XD Overall, DEFINITELY RECOMMEND. I was in contact with Megan and she was very patient with my questions and just the entire process. Super accommodating of small things, like having another person pick up stuff, and it was just a very pleasant, easy experience. Mcourse offers up unique and fresh pastries for delivery and social events. I heard from this shop through fellow Yelper Kristine and thought to treat me and my family to some sweets. I made the minimum order of 4 mochifins because those I share with are not too big on sweets. Plus each pastry is nice and soft and fresh and crispy, the filling for matcha pastry is sooo fresh cold and sweet. Not overbearing. Love it so healthy because anti-oxidants and low sugar. No kick or burst of sugar just pure culinary yumminess. Pastries are something I definitely splurge on and I think everyone should try Mcourse at least one. Enso#54 +- Pick up/ delivery. Boy are y'all in for a moderately sweet treat! I first found out about MCourse through Instagram and just had to try them out for myself! Cream puffs and "mochifin" mochi muffins? I'm so there! The twin baking duo, Megan and Mindy, don't have an actual storefront but they'll coordinate a spot for pick up in Santa Clara or you can ask about local delivery for a fee. Order through DM on IG or email them at info@theMcourse.com. I emailed them and Megan was extremely friendly plus professional throughout the whole process of ordering, payment (cash, Venmo, or CC with 3% transaction fee), and pick up! How about them sweets? These aren't overly sugary at all. Let's start with the mochifins. Sad to say, I was in a rush to get back to work after sweet Megan handed me my 3 boxes so I accidentally stacked them on top of one another. Outcome? I broke too hard and the top box of 4 mochifins flipped 90 degrees forward and the milk jams slipped off. Sad face but they still tasted delicious! Good thing the other box of 4 was fine and I presented them to a friend for her birthday. What is a mochifin? They bake mochi muffins until they're crisp on the outside and chewy inside, fill a bit of cream in the center, and top it off with these incredible fruity milk jams! Now that is my jam! *dances in a circle* omg I was swiping the fallen jam off the box with my finger. I think I liked the strawberry more than the mango, which was still amazing! I didn't even feel bad about eating these because it was barely sweet! If you ladies could make eclairs with the milk jams inside, or even fill the cream puffs with the strawberry milk jam, I'd totally order some! Cream that puff up! I didn't realize how perfect the puffs were until I took the first bite of vanilla. I honestly thought matcha would be favorite, and rightfully so I tried it first. It was more matcha flavor than sweet. Also, I had the puffs frozen, didn't get a chance to try them oozing with cream at fridge temp. Next time! That vanilla though. OMG! Lightly sweetened custard with such a fragile tasty crusted puff. Their promise of the puff staying crispy for two days holds true. I absolutely loved the puff itself, there's something in the crust or maybe the powdered sugar just gives it the added oomph. I'm not a big fan of ube (I grew up around it) but the flavor and vibrant purple are spot on. I gave the second ube puff to one of my work besties and she was delighted! The ladies added in two bonus macarons! Thank you so much for that. I think it was cookies & cream? Or possibly black sesame but either way, chewy texture was great and the buttercream silky! Not only are they baking cream puffs and mochifins, they've also got exquisite cakes, cupcakes (I've gotta try guava one day), macarons, who knows what else? Inquire and you shall receive. Note: minimum of 4 per order of the puffs and mochifins, they encourage mixing and matching of flavors. I read that before this virus, the ladies held workshops for customers to decorate their own cakes! That sounds pretty cool, definitely worth checking out in the future. Support _MCourse_! Megan and Mindy's cupcakes are out of this world! I was super excited to be able to score a 12 pack of their variety cupcakes after drooling over their IG pictures for the past 2 months. Megan handled my DM transaction efficiently, and pickup was easy in Santa Clara. I had an opportunity to gift some friends the cupcakes as belated birthday cupcakes, and they declared them the best cupcakes they have ever had. I kept the following flavors: guava, passionfruit mango, black sesame, dark chocolate caramel, and lavender lemon (listed in taste preference). The cake is fluffy and moist with the cream/frosting being the perfect sweetness and texture after leaving out from fridge the recommended 40 minutes. The lavender lemon was probably my least favorite as I don't enjoy floral flavored desserts, but the lemon curd filling inside was super yum. I am excited to find that they also do mini cupcakes AND vegan ones at that. Can't wait to share with my vegan family members next! read more
I ordered a dozen of passion fruit mango mini cupcakes and a dozen of assorted cream puffs for my Valentine's Day lunch with my husband and family. The mini cupcakes and cream puffs were all fluffy, moist yet not overwhelmingly sweet to my tastebuds. My family like the flavors and presentation of these cute desserts after our lunch on Sunday! I made a dessert bowl with fresh berries, cherries, few small scoops of jasmine tea and pistachio ice cream, and a MCourse strawberry cream puff for my evening dessert with my husband on Valentine's Day, which we really enjoyed it together. Megan was responsive to my email messages in a timely manner, and I'm looking forward to ordering more sweets from MCourse in a near future. How long does it take to respond to your online order?
They should respond within 2-3 days but most definitely by Wednesday if you order for the same week.
Is this a pastries shop or a house? I drove to locations and I ended up in a neighborhood.
They don't have an actual store and only accept preorders for their cakes and cupcakes. There is the option of pick up at a meeting place (address will be provided upon electronic payment) or delivery for a fee.
