I can't believe it took me this long to discover this place when it's so close to where I live--right by my childhood Safeway! As of today, Phin has officially become my new go-to spot for Vietnamese coffee. Their traditional Vietnamese iced milk coffee is SO good--rich, bold, and perfectly balanced. And speaking of balance, I absolutely love that you can customize the sweetness level. The space itself is beautiful: super duper clean, tidy, and very well decorated. It feels cozy and it's such a nice place to sit and enjoy your drink. I wasn't able to hang out (took my drink to-go) but I plan to visit again and enjoy the sandwiches and the drip coffee made with the phin filter, as it should be. Staff was very friendly and fast. Pretty quiet environment with people working on their laptops and calm music playing I ordered the pandan coffee less sweet. It truly was less sweet. I really tasted the coffee element rather than having it as a sweet treat, so I'd say stick to regular sugar if you want something sweet. The pandan flavor wasn't very heavy (possibly due to the less sugar) but was still enjoyable, and the coffee wasn't overwhelming. I'd say the coffee isn't as strong as some other places, which could be good or bad depending on what you're looking for. It gave me the energy that I needed for the day without having me jittery or bouncing off the walls Overall, I'd give it a 7.5/10. Phin cafe is a cutely decorated coffee shop with Vietnamese-inspired drinks and snacks - and drinks are clearly their strong suit. The hot egg cream coffee (ordered less sweet) had a thick, rich custard-cream layer blanketing strong espresso. The sweet and bitter flavors were well-balanced. Sipping it felt like an indulgence. We took several of their snacks to go including their spinach and cheese pate chaud. The filling was seasoned well and the outside layers of the pastry was light and flakey, but the inside layers of the pastry were denser than ideal. The grilled pork bánh mì sandwich was ok and the texture contrast was there with the crunchy pickled veggies, and nice, soft pull-apart grilled pork. However the meat was overly sweet and didn't have any char or smokey flavor. Similarly the teriyaki spam musubi was on the sweet side and it would have been nice to have a little char to add another taste dimension. Both the pandan and bubble waffle were dry and bland. Microwaving them improved the taste and texture slightly, but I do think the batter itself needed a little more salt and milkfat to get extra richness and flavor. After trying the Campbell location, I wanted to check out this one. It is much smaller, bust still has plenty of seating. The menu doesn't offer the flights, but I only came for one thing and one thing only. BANANA MATCHA OAT MILK LATTE, duh. It was pretty good, love the fresh banana and creamy oat milk, but considering I had just had one from the Campbell location the day before, it didn't taste exactly the same. I preferred Campbell's. My partner ordered the Phin coffee and he enjoyed it, it does take a minute though. He also liked the banana matcha latte with regular milk. Anyway, service was quick and friendly. I was SO EXCITED when I heard Phin Cafe opened close by. Had to stop by and try their drinks and ended up going back again to try their Bahn Mi and Pandan Waffle as well. First time we went we got various coffee drinks like the Pandan, Nutella Banana, Egg... what's nice is you can substitute the milk with oat milk for those of us who are a bit lactose intolerant. All the drinks were delicious and not too sweet. I'm so glad I got the LARGE Nutella Banana Coffee drink. What an amazing delicious combo!! We also got their Pork and Pate Chaud and their Mushroom Chaud. Both were delicious. They have different Chaud offerings depending on the day so we were fortunate to have different choices. Later in the week - hubby and I went back to try their Bahn Mi, pandan waffle and their Tropical Zest drink. Their Pandan Waffle - the BEST every - even better than the ones I would get in Viet Town so definitely coming here for my pandan waffle cravings. I went here upon recommendation from my husband after a meal in the same plaza. My husband recommended the egg creme topping, so this is what I went with: a small hot coffee with egg creme topping. The texture is super thick. Like goop going down your throat, and thick cream that will clog your blood vessels. I tried stirring for a long time and even asked if they can remove the cream and add more coffee to even it out. But it was still a clunk of sweet cream goop than coffee. I tried my husband's iced version, and it was fine. So I would maybe advise on the iced version and steer away from the hot. I'm glad such a wonderful "hang out" cafe has opened up nearby. Apparently they have been opened since Feb of this year (2025). I do come to the Safeway in this shopping center every now and then but I suppose I don't come around this corner much. I got The Phin Coffee. This is the typical Vietnamese style drip coffee where you gotta have a bit of patience for the dripping before enjoying before being able to enjoy. Great for my occasion since I intended to do some stuff on my laptop here. This is only available in-store. The staff was attentive enough to make sure I had a table as I ordered this and also called someone over to clean up the one table that was open for me. The coffee comes with some biscotti and a choice of topping which I got "egg" flavor. It's sort of a custardy cream. TBH, I wasn't really sure how to consume it so I just poured most of it into my coffee and left a bit to dip my biscotti with. All in all, quite an enjoyable treat. I also got a BBQ pork banh mi. Pretty good. Bread tasted fresh and was nicely toasted and soft on the inside. I ended up hanging out in the cafe for about 1.5 hours and it's been pretty much full the entire time. Came here with some friends Sunday morning to try their egg creme coffee. I got the matcha egg cream latte (cold) while my friends got the the regular egg creme coffee (cold) and the Ube coffee (hot). I got no sugar added as I expected the egg creme to be super sweet but it wasn't! Luckily I'm a matcha connesseur and could handle the bitterness of real matcha. I would definitely recommend adding in some sugar as they use real matcha powder. But I have to say, even after mixing the egg creme real well into my matcha latte, it was just mid. I appreciate the real ingredients but it wasn't the Vietnamese egg creme I was expecting. My friend thought the egg creme coffee was just mid, and so did my friend with the hot ube coffee. I thought ube coffee was better than what I had and I think part of that is because the heat helped with mixing the egg creme in. The banh mi was not that great. One of my friends couldn't finish it and the other thought it was nothing special. The decor and ambience was nice, and the service was really good. Phin Cafe is a new Vietnamese coffee shop in Cupertino, and is a welcome addition to the coffee scene in the city. This cafe is located near Safeway and parking is easy to find. The cafe has gotten quite popular recently so there might be a wait for your order. The cafe has a calm ambiance and the staff is so nice. I tried the Pandan Matcha as well as the Pandan Coffee. Both the drinks consists of their matcha/coffee with a generous amount of strong Pandan cream on top. Out of the two, I prefer the Pandan Coffee as the coffee synergies well with the cream (also the matcha makes the drink taste a little too grassy) Both drinks are refreshing thanks to the Pandan cream's unique vanilla grassy taste. After two visits, I am already hooked in to Phin Cafe and I know that I'll be coming back soon for another boost! read more

Went on a Monday during Soft Opening. Service was A+. She went into detail about how I'd like my order without me asking, really felt like they wanted to ensure I got my order just how I'd like it. The service was very thoughtful and patient. Order: 2 Iced Milk Coffee (viet iced coffee) $6 each Combo Banh Mi $8.5 Grilled Pork Banh Mi $8.5 Pandan Waffle $5.5 $35 after 20% off soft opening special until next week. One of the iced coffees was lighter than the other, and the espresso tasted sour for both. Not sure if the espresso was sitting or for some other reason. The 7leaves on Wolfe makes it pretty good. The sandwiches were fine, the grilled pork is more thick cut and not the flavor we were expecting, but okay. The cold cuts combo was good, thinner cuts than I'm used to, but was fine. Waffle - not chewy as I've had it at other places, but still good, crispy. I enjoyed it, would order again. I live down the street, so I'm still excited they're here. Hopefully they get to work out all the kinks during the soft opening. I'm going to hit it up again and try their speciality drinks, give it another shot after grand opening before taking friends here when they visit me. read more
