My absolute favorite Tasty Pot location!! While I didn't love the concept of individual hot pots including all of the ingredients bubbling in broth and eventually overcooking... I am over the moon about Tasty Pot now offering AYCE. This provides patrons who opt for AYCE to have their own individual pot of broth with access to all of the yummy ingredients [such as veggies, seafood, and noods]. Here you will find 6 options of broth and 5 different cuts of meat. Appetizers are included as well but do not match what is listed on the actual menu. Prior to getting here, I had my heart set on sukiyaki broth but realized it was not listed on the menu. I opted for miso and the other party got the tom yum. Both broths were very good and I was in awe of the AYCE lunch spread. While the amount of food for some individual items weren't plentiful, there was a whole lot to choose from. Dipping sauces are not pre-made and concocting your own flavors is up to you. With lunch underway, the staff began to slowly bring out egg rolls, potstickers, fried rice, chow mein, & sesame balls. I didn't bother sampling any of this but other eaters seemed to enjoy. Staff is really nice. They are available for questions or requests. On more than one occasion, our order placed did not go through and the staff had to manually put it in. No fuss, just let the staff member know and they can confirm if the kitchen received it. The noodles and veggies were plentiful and this placed is a meat ball fanatic's dream! The only major complaint I had was regarding the intestines- they were not cleaned well and had an awful taste to it. Steer clear of that! 5/5 stars for the AYCE. Our bellies left full and our tastebuds were happy!! I'd easily come back but only do so if your entire party is opting for AYCE. There are no exceptions.
Been dining at this location for as long as I can remember and I'm definitely a fan of their soups. My go-to is their beef hot soup medium spice level which hits the spot every single time. The broth is flavorful, meat slices are fair, and I enjoy all of the other various fish balls, veggies, and more provided as well. Their soybean paste is my favorite and it pairs well with everything. I've dined here when they tried doing Malatang and I wasn't much of a fan so I'm glad they got rid of that style. Now they offer AYCE and I very much enjoy it! They updated the place with new tables and different stations offering a variety of fish balls, veggies, tofu, noodles, a drink station, sauce bar, and more that you can choose from. They also have ice cream to end your meal. As for the meats, out of all the choices I'm a fan of their angus marbled beef slices and angus beef slices. The meats are good quality, not frozen, sliced thin, and cooked very fast. I got the tom yum broth and it was flavorful. It was cool that our server was able to accommodate my mom as she wanted the cheesy milk broth since it isn't offered on the AYCE menu. I was already a fan of their hot pots before the AYCE option, and now I enjoy it even more!
Tasty Pot is an all-you-can-eat place, but I tried ordering it through DoorDash. The delivery was pretty quick, around 30 minutes, and the packaging was actually really solid. Even though it was soup, nothing leaked at all, and the plastic bowl was thick and sturdy. The only thing is the portion felt a little small for the price, especially compared to eating at the restaurant. I feel like dining in is probably more worth it, but for delivery, it was still convenient and packaged well.
I was intrigued by the AYCE option after receiving an advertisement text from them. I came in around 4:30 on a Wednesday, so the restaurant was pretty empty. There were only 2 other groups of customers when I got there. The waiter told me I could sit anywhere I'd like with the stove and went back to his station without any explanation. I saw there was a QR code plaque, so I assumed I'd order via Qr code. I got the Taiwanese spicy pot and ordered beef belly and wagyu beef to start. Because there wasn't the option to order veggies and other hotpot sides, so I started to look around the restaurant and found the self serve bar. There were a lot of options to add to the hotpot, but there were a few items that were out, and a couple of tongs slipped into the food bucket, which I think the servers should've caught and made changes since the restaurant wasn't busy at the time. They also serve some hot food, fruits, dessert, and ice cream at the self serve bar as well. By the time I got everything I wanted to try from the self serve bar, the hotpot meat and the broth I ordered were at my table already. Unfortunately, even with the highest heat setting, my pot was never that hot. It cooks everything fine, but had to leave them in the pot a bit longer. In addition, the pot was slightly too small in my opinion, and made it difficult to cook my veggies. All the ingredients were pretty fresh in my opinion. I really like the wagyu meat and the beef belly I got. I also ordered the marble beef slices at one point, but didn't like it that much. I find the broth too salty, and it wasn't that spicy. Overall, it wasn't too bad of an experience for AYCE hotpot, but I probably wouldn't go back again anytime soon. The pricing is reasonable, I just prefer other AYCE options out in the market. I also wouldn't want to wait in line for it, so I'll probably go before the rush if I ever go back.

We were seated right away. (Your entire party needs to be present to get seated) Menu was straight to the point, offering a good variety of broths. Half of the group tried tom yum and the other, tonkatsu. Lots of veggies and other ingredients to choose from at the bar and their sauce bar is extensive. We werent expecting much when it came to the meats, but man, were we wrong! The meats were fresh, tender, and flavorful. We especially enjoyed their wagyu and toro beef! For $29.99 dinner ayce, you cant go wrong. This also includes fountain drinks! Also, it's important to note that their tonkatsu broth was hellaaaa good! We will be coming to TP more often now!
Before all the AYCE hotpot places opened in San Jose, Tasty Pot was the OG spot to go. Although it wasn't AYCE, one large pot would be super filling and sometimes enough for 2 people to share! I finally came back to Tasty Pot after all these years and to my surprise, they're now adding the AYCE option! However, they will not be offering individual hotpot combos in the near future as it'll be strictly AYCE only at this location. We didn't choose the AYCE option however as I browsed their self serve toppings/sauce bar, there was a lot to choose from! Including the hot bar with fried rice and eggrolls. So if you're in Little Saigon, definitely check out Tasty Pot for their new menu or enjoy the individual hotpot's while you can :-)
This is an og south bay hot out place that has evolved over the years to include an ayce option! Food: It's good and the portions are generous. The flavor really does vary between the different soup options so i'd recommend really making sure you like the ingredients and flavor of the soup you're getting. The ayce included dessert as a bonus as well :) Parking: This could be tricky since the parking is quite limited. That said, you can always try parking at the plaza over if you are okay with a short walk. Service: They have a qr code for ordering now.
Tried AYCE at Tasty Pot this weekend. You scan a QR code to order your meats and choose your broth. For meats, the AYCE options were limited to angus beef, chicken, pork belly, and lamb. The sauce bar is self-serve, and you grab your own veggies, seafood, carbs, and drinks. The concept is efficient and fun, but I do wish the broths included in the AYCE were the same as the ones on their original menu. Overall, still a solid option if you're looking for a casual, customizable hot pot experience.
I love hotpot for the life and death of me, along with many other things. Like... hypothetically speaking, death row meal typa thing. And I ESPECIALLY LOVE THIS PLACE for the variety of pots, the easy ordering, and oh my- the frickin sauce. Whatever that orange sauce is, with the chili powder they provide. I could eat that with anything all day, everyday. It goes so well with the flavors, and all of their little meats, veggies, and sides taste fresh and delicious too. When I went to go search this place up and review it, I was actually shocked it only has 4 stars on here. Was expecting 4.5 or more- our time here was always pleasant. Workers were polite, attentive, and patient. They even let me take a cute little ornament off of their Christmas tree once around Christmas time too lol. Plus, on certain days, they auto-serve their customers sweet tea instead of water!! But of course you could order water on the side. I think that's pretty cool. 10/10 recommend this place. Very yummy!!!
The parking lot is small, but there is a lot of room inside the restaurant. You have your choice of doing your traditional single tasty pot option to an AYCE hot pot. A lot of the things there is self serve. Drink are included as part of the price. Staff is quick to serve and refill any of the meats you need for your hot pot. I enjoy the amount of space around you. You don't feel like you are cramped when eating. I love this twist to the Tasty Pot franchise. This is the first in the Bay Area that I know that offers this option.
Tried the all you can eat today and it had good variety of veggies, protein etc. If you're a good eater then I'd go with AYCE option. For me I'd stick with premade as not a big soup person. Tried it today as son loves wagu as it's part of meat option of the AYCE. We both enjoyed it and all the items were fresh looking. There were also few fruits, dessert and all you can drink as well. Also had fried rice, eggroll and chowmein.
I haven't eaten at tasty pot before but this location is one of the few ones (if any) that serves Malatang style as well. In other words, they have a sort of "build your own" style where you choose your toppings and proteins and they weigh it prior to choosing your soup base. I opted to try it this way and it was a good experience. I chose from a variety of vegetables and mainly chose beef as my protein. I will say that noodles add a bit of weight and I think I added too much noodles. My bowl ended up weighing more than I wanted to spend. Still, it tased delicious and warm. They have a variety of broths to choose from and I chose the Pork bone broth. Overall, it was enjoyable and I like this new perspective for tasty pot. I think I will still order the original way, since it seems easier to know the set price vs trying to balance how much you want to choose and willing to spend.
Nothing beats hunger and the cold than some hot soup with lots of meat, noodles, vegetables, and broth. If I had to choose a last meal, this could be it! Since it is cold at night and I am hungry for dinner, this place is perfect! read more

They got AYCE hot pot now and it feels a lot more chaotic! I came here to celebrate Father's day on Sunday around 12pm. There was a bit of a wait and you can waitlist on their ipad inside. We waited for about 20-30 minutes. Before getting seated they ask if you want to do the normal hot pot style or AYCE. The AYCE runs for 90 minutes and is $24.99 during lunch and $30.95 during dinner time. They also charge for leftover food which is $6 per lb. We ended up doing the normal one pot hot pot for each person. I always get my usual lamb hot pot which already comes with vermicelli noodles and choose rice as my free side dish. There are various levels of spiciness and I chose extra spicy which is a level down from there flaming spicy from what I can recall. Honestly it was not spicy enough but I did not want to get the spiciest level in fear that it would be too oily. Perhaps I will try that the next time to see if it is. They have a bar further in the back of the restaurant where you can get creat your sauce and get some garnishes for your hot pot. I also noticed they have some other sides like noodles and such next to it. It seems if you are not participating in AYCE you can still get sauces and garnishes but I am not sure about the other sides. The interior has changed from the last time I came here and it looks nice! Service was standard and everyone was nice. I have had my fair share of deciding on going to Tasty Pot or Boiling Point. Both are great for their individual pot. I am here to write about their AYCE. They have about 5 different kind of meats that you can choose from. Their self serve bar comes with veggies, seafood, and etc. The service was okay, the meat came out at a reasonable time. In my opinion I'll say AYCE is worth it. For the base price of $30, you also get Taiwanese popcorn chicken and free milk tea read more

10/10 service, this location always has the best service. I was so impressed with the staff and how they handled our party of 10. Shoutout to our waitress who kept checking in on us, friendly and accommodating.. This place beats most AYCE. read more

tasty pot has been my go to for their individual pots but their new concept of AYCE hotpot is pretty cool. they have self serve bar where you can grab veggies, seafood, sauce, and other hot foods. I think it's a decent AYCE hotpot place and has variety to choose from! read more
I've gone here 20+ times over the years. This is still my favorite location after trying 4+ locations. Pro tip.. If you go for lunch, you get a free tea and price is cheaper. It's great bang for buck if you're craving some hot pot / soup and don't want AYCE My favorite is Beef Medium spicy. Service is good, servers are attentive and go around refilling water+ broth. I love that the sauces are self serve at each table. There are plenty of smaller tables for 2-4 people and a few for larger parties. I tend to go after lunch when the rush is over, note they close at 3pm and they re-open for dinner. read more
I got a text notification that they now serve DIY malatang soup so I had to come try! Let me tell you, it did not disappoint. They had so many different options for meat, veggie, noodles, toppings, and even 10 different soup bases! Other malatang places I've been to usually only offer 4-5 soup bases but here, they have 10. Their price is $14.99 a pound which is pretty similar to other competitors. Tasty Pot is my favorite personal sized hot pot place and it remains unbeatable still. I love this new concept of DIY so I can choose exactly what I want in my bowl. Service is always excellent here as well. Thank you Tasty Pot Story Rd! read more

Tasty Pot has always been my comfort spot, especially after a night out. Lobster hot pot (4/5): I usually get the beef, but felt like trying something new and wanted to splurge. I thought it was okay. The lobster was a bit small and too much to pick on. There's not as much protein toppings as it's mostly carb toppings. I'm going to stick with the beef from now on. read more

The remodel looks really nice! The place is spacious and clean. You can still order regular hot pot or go with the AYCE option. For AYCE, lunch is $24.99 and dinner is $29.99. They offer a wide variety of soups, and the satay broth tastes similar to the regular beef/lamb broth. The service was fast as well. Overall, I would definitely come back. The food was good and there were plenty of great options to choose from. read more
Ayce offering at tasty Pot??? Right in my alley and off we went. Enjoying only what you love with your favorite soup flavor, im in heaven. $24.99 for ayce lunch and $34.99 for ayce dinner. Can't wait to go back tomorrow, I meant next week. read more

Not my first time, but was pumped to see that Tasty Pot is testing out a malatang concept at their San Jose location! I love being able to customize my own ingredients and broth, so I hope that they'll keep this option. I got the mild bone broth soup, was pretty comparable to what you get at the other popular malatang spots in the South Bay. I appreciated that they didn't have a 1lb minimum like other spots do! Our waiters were amazing and ensured we enjoyed our meal, and the music they had playing created such a fun vibe. read more
NO MORE MALATANG! You may have seen on social media that they started a malatang trial but it's no longer going on Unfortunately that's what we came to try but we still ordered off their usual menu and as always it was delicious! We had the beef and the sichuan hot soups, comes with a free side of rice. If I'd get the sichuan again I'd go for the hot instead of the medium as it wasn't as spicy as I'd hope. Flavor is still great for both though! Service is very nice, the waitress checked on out soup and water levels often. read more
We've been here several times but recently came to try their Malatang trial. It's priced the same as other malatang places ($14.99/lb) but the options are more limited. For the broth, we wanted the same soup that came in the original Beef and Lamb pots and the cashier told us it's the beef bone broth. When we got our bowls, we were so disappointed because it was definitely not the same soup. If you're looking for the same soup, it's the Satay broth. I actually like the malatang concept for Tasty Pot because I prefer to customize what goes in my bowl. I hope they keep this style. read more

I've been going to Tasty Pot for the longest time now, and they've stayed pretty consistent. They recently added a new malatang station, which I love. As someone who doesn't eat a lot and is pretty picky about ingredients, I really like being able to choose exactly what goes into my bowl and it's also cheaper (depending on how much you eat). My bowl ended up being about 0.7 lbs and cost around $10. Their malatang is $14.99 per pound, which is a great price. I also love that you can get the malatang with their original beef broth, which is what I usually order at Tasty Pot. Overall, I love going to Tasty Pot for both their original hot pot and their new malatang! read more

Tasty Pot is like my go-to if its cold out or want to help a hangover. I usually order the beef hot soup with the Thai soup base. The broth is flavorful, slightly tangy, and so comforting, and the beef is always tender and well-portioned. This visit, I decided to switch things up and try their malatang, since it's new, and only $14.99 per pound. The build-your-own style is fun and they have a lot to choose from. The veggies is fresh and plentiful, and everything cooks perfectly in the broth. You have a lot of broths to choose from, so many meat options and tofu. Tasty Pot has always been one of my favorite go-to spots for hotpot. Their lamb hotpot is unbeatable -- rich, flavorful broth and tender meat every time. They're also super accommodating and will adjust anything if you just ask. (Me living only two minutes away definitely doesn't help with self-control, LOL.) But here's the real game changer: when they introduced malatang. Boy oh boy, did they just level up -- tenfold. The toppings are plentiful, the ingredients are fresh, and that Sichuan mala broth... oh man, it's easily the best I've ever had. The flavor is deep and authentic -- not just generic "spicy broth" like at other places -- and you can actually taste the Sichuan peppercorns. Plus, you can adjust the spice level to your liking. What really blew my mind is that malatang isn't even their signature dish, yet they're outshining 99% of actual malatang restaurants. Honestly, the only place that might edge them out is Haidilao -- but that comes with a price tag and full hotpot setup. Another thing I love is that there's no minimum weight when you build your malatang bowl. Most spots require at least a pound, which can be too much (and expensive), but here you can order exactly how much you want. It's perfect for satisfying those Sichuan cravings without breaking the bank -- especially in this economy. And I have to give a huge shoutout to Amy. She's phenomenal -- her hospitality and customer service make this place feel extra special. When Tasty Pot first introduced malatang, it was supposed to be limited-time, but I really hope it's now permanent because this has officially become my #1 spot for malatang. Solid hotpot. Tasty pot is always pretty consistent, not the biggest fan of hotpot but don't mind it here. I usually get the beef hot soup in mild or medium. It's good but the broth could be more flavorful, and I wish it came with more meat for the price. Plenty of seating and they bring your food out fast after ordering on your phone using their QR code. I believe they have a rewards system where you can eventually earn a free hot pot, and they serve complimentary iced tea during lunch hours :) read more

Tasty Pot is one of my favorite restaurants! This is always a safe go-to spot when my friends and I want to grab a quick bite as we know it won't disappoint. I always get the Beef Soup Pot and I'm loving their new malatang concept!! It's much more fun to assemble my bowl with all ingredients that I'd like and eat, this allows much more variety than the pot option. Their Thai broth has been one of my favorites lately, highly recommend if you like a similar taste to tom yum. This is probably going to be my new spot for malatang, and I still love the option of ordering hot pot from the menu if I'm too lazy to make my own. read more

I ordered Taiwanese Supreme Spicy one with mild spice which is not spicy, taste so good. They offered free iced green tea, its refill. I went there lunchtime so there's a line. It comes with rice or vermicelli. Potion is good, can be shared by two people. read more
broth was a lot saltier than i would prefer. at the bottom, the broth was super concentrated..almost looks like tomato sauce, so i recommend stirring your pot. looks better than it tastes. sauces on the side were a nice addition, particularly enjoyed the soy garlic dip for the meats and veggies. comfortable seating and no wait to sit down right away on a friday evening, however service here is not great. constantly had to track down wait for every need such at water refills & waiters looking down constantly instead of proactively checking in on any of their tables. overall, would recommend boiling point or fashion wok instead if youre looking for a tasty pot with better service. probably will not be returning here unfortunately. read more

My friend and I decided to eat hot pot together on a Saturday. I had never experienced any hot pot in person only via door dash . It was the perfect day to try this place out ! Located off Story Rd on a tucked away corner. The weather was cold and wet outside .. the broth made you feel extra cozy. I really loved the endless refill of broth being poured into your personal electric stove. Although after the second or third refill the chicken stock broth took away the original flavor of my soup broth . The new flavor wasn't bad it was just more bland like watered down . Overall I would recommend this establishment and maybe go a bit spicer for more seasonings. read more

If I were to order one of the soups for takeout during this Covid-19 season, how does it come packaged? Do I simply reheat it or do I need to put all the materials together and cook it myself at home?
The soup is already cooked for you. If you would like to reheat it you can but most of the time when I order to go or even delivery its still pretty hot. The soup and everything in it is packed in a container, the rice/noodles are packed separately…

Does anyone know if the veggie hot pot is vegan?
It's some what vegan but base on the ingredients they use some non vegan products. So you have to be careful at any spot you eat as well. Not all vegan places are vegan.

They don't except reservations but they do have a wait time so if you go to the app on yelp you can press a wait time and I'll put you on the waiting list and update you by texting you on your phone when your table is ready

I love it togo!! You can ask them for extra soup to bring home. But I always like heating it up again for another meal :)
